How NOT to publish a great magazine

This is the most disappointing app I’ve ever downloaded from AmericanBeeJournal Store, and that’s saying a lot. It’s a pity, because the content in ABJ is superior. As much as I’d like to read ABJ digitally, I’m going to have to continue borrowing my neighbor’s paper copies until Dadant realizes its mistake.

Ignore the old reviews

I love AmericanBeeJournal. I have had problems zooming in on my laptop but on my phone app, zooming in is intuitive & works great!

Great on iPad

Sooo much better with iPad. Can zoom in easily, for older eyes. read and jump to other pages or sites. Thanks for update.

Even one star is too much

I can only agree with the previous review. Worst app ever. I hope it was a DIY and not something they paid for.
My suggestion, let a professional handle this or take AmericanBeeJournal of AmericanBeeJournal Store.

Wish I Could give zero stars

Words can't explain how slow, failure to load, inability to carry my subscription over different devices. AmericanBeeJournal is a headache.

Useless App

Can't log in, can't get downloads, still takes your money. Too bad as the online articles are great. No response from app maker.

AmericanBeeJournal is cludgy. Needs to be updated to improve performance on iPad devices.

Possibly one of the worst iPad apps ever

The only good thing about AmericanBeeJournal is the content. If it ever loads.

Great magazine, terrible app

The content is great, but AmericanBeeJournal is the most frustrating app I have ever seen. Please fix it, ABJ!

By

App abandoned.

Last update Feb. 2016. There is no support. AmericanBeeJournal fully deserves the 1.0 overall rating.

By

Piece of garbage

This complete farce of an app deserves a minus 10 rating. Please remove it from AmericanBeeJournal Store.

Needs Work!

Needless to say the printed version of American Bee Journal is brilliant, however, their app version is darn near impossible to read!
Why?
Because the font is quite small and unfocused but when you enlarge the font it becomes even more blurred and horrible to try to read.
I am so disappointed in AmericanBeeJournal. I had subscribed to the web version prior to AmericanBeeJournal and it had the same problems....Blue Toad (their digital content provider) needs to get its act together!
This could be a five star app magazine IF they address the font focus problem until then I am glad I only subscribed per issue.
I have emailed American Bee Journal (Blue Toad) about this problem but I guess I got lost in the shuffle and have not heard back so hopefully they will respond to this review.

Great Magazine, Poor App

ABJ is the essential magazine for anyone with an interest in beekeeping or honeybees. It has been #1 for over 150 years. The ability to take your copies of ABJ with you on your iPod would be great if AmericanBeeJournal worked. Unfortunately AmericanBeeJournal will suspend your subscription for no reason so that you can't open new editions even though the iTunes Store has collected quarterly subscription fees as scheduled. New issues appear with a "Buy" button that offers you the opportunity to subscribe even though you are already a paid up subscriber. Blue Toad who operates AmericanBeeJournal provides no avenue to report the problem, so you are stuck. Perhaps complaining directly to Dadant would bring a fix.

New to bee keeping

Great source of information for the newbie. I live in NC and learning a lot from my downloads of your magazine. It would be nice to have a state section in your digital section since space is not a problem talking about what is going on in your state and what to be watching for at that time of the year for newbies like myself. I do very much enjoy my new hobby and your magazine.
Look forward to my next down load.

Easy to us

The ABJ newsstand app is just like reading a magazine. It is night and day better than trying to use the digital version on an iPad or iPhone. One of these days as ABJ gets better it would be great if it was designed like the Popular Science Magazine. Thank you for your progress.

Absolutely useless app

I was so excited to buy a subscription to American Bee Journal, but never was I able to open the journals through AmericanBeeJournal. There was absolutely no customer support, and I never gained access to what I had purchased.
