Exactly what I want and nothing I don't!
I realized today, while checking the status of a few packages on the way, just how much I use this app. I shop online a lot, and I've got all the individual carrier apps (FedEx, UPS, USPS) but when I'm tracking three packages that are equally important but being shipped by three different carriers, it can get a little frustrating! This app is the solution! It has all the carriers, even ones not in the US and the carriers that start your shipment but only deliver to the post office for USPS to actually deliver. It's all in ONE place, it automatically detects a tracking number on your clipboard AND automatically determines what carrier the number is from! Of course, on the odd chance that they didn't get it right, you can modify it, as well as the "nickname" of the package so you know what's being delivered today instead of guessing. If there are ads, they're discreet and well-placed. Bottom line, for a FREE app, you can't go wrong with Aftership!! It's a must-have for me!
Very dissatisfied with Dec 2016 update
I literally never write reviews but I was so dissatisfied with the update I felt compelled to make an exception. I've been using this app for over a year and never had an issue. I liked the functionality, the notifications that a package was out for delivery then delivered. It kept the packages I ship for my business all in one convenient place. I ship a lot of packages but I'm still a micro-business owner a one person operation so keeping things simple is best. With the new update and the requirement to create an account to track more than a certain number of packages is ridiculous. AFAIK there was no limit in previous versions so it's not like the app can't handle more than X shipments, they simply want your info now. It's not necessary and the fact the devs have decided it is "necessary" it makes me wonder what they're planning to do with my personal info. I also don't like having to see all my previously delivered shipment on the main screen. I liked the separation. There wasn't anything wrong with the previous version so why mess with it?
Not sure why others are saying it's slow to update, etc., but on my iPad4/HP laptop/Samsung Edge+ it is anything but exceptional. From placing the labels on packages to each stop it makes, all (and I get many) of my deliveries have been tracked and updated on-time. How do I know that someone won't use this info to intercept and/or come to my house and pickup packages left without a signature? Well as with all apps, you either trust them with your info or you don't. Being at home all the time and having security cameras (and a Ring doorbell) would spell trouble for anyone who tried, so I feel safe using this app. Great job developers, perfect app for someone who receives multiple deliveries or just the occasional one.
Where has this been all my life?!
This app is just what I needed. It helps me keep track of shipments and saves me time from going back and forth between different freight carriers websites. Geez I wish I knew this app existed years ago, lol. I'm happy this popped up as a suggested app when I was visiting USPS' website. You guys have no idea how much time it saves me. I love the push notifications as well. You also get to apply a "name" to each tracking number you enter which I just title it whatever I'm having shipped. Sometimes there are so many shipments I'm receiving, I forget what in the world they are, lol so those titles come in handy. I hope you guys enjoy this app as much as I do. It's no mess, no fuss. Nice job developers!
WOW! VERY impressed!
I happened to stumble into this app looking for a tracking app, and I am very glad I took a chance on it! I have used it to track several packages from different sources, and it has not disappointed me at all! And the coolest thing: no hidden charges of any kind when using it! I have yet to enter a tracking code/number that it has not recognized, and time and again provided me with reliable tracking updates! WELL DONE!!! UPDATE - Sorry, but I had to take back one of the stars due to recent events. Recently the app keeps displaying a LOT of internal error messages indicating something has happened ‘on AfterShip’s end’, and will not allow me to perform any manual updates... Any idea on when will this issue be FIXED?
Decent and free
This is a decent app for tracking packages. I have read other reviews and while they make good points, I have noticed the main problem is many foreign shippers i.e. China mail or Yanwen and even the USPS doesn't always give timely updates on packages. Foreign carriers do not always provide a tracking number. Example: I was waiting for a pair of headsets and they arrived Saturday but the last update was showing in Los Angels three days prior and hours later that night it updated to arrived. I was using the headphones labeled still in Los Angeles. So while it's pain using this app in conjunction with the shipping carrier at least one can guess when something has arrived in country.
Definitely better than its competitor!
I have extensively tested both apps Arrive and AfterShip, to see which was better and more accurate. This app usually won. It was always able to give me a fairly accurate arrival date, it had real time updates (both did), but the one thing that made me like the AfterShip app more was it’s interface. It doesn’t have to load a map, or gather intel on my package before I can view it because everything is updated when you open the app, thus making the AfterShip much faster than the arrive app. I think they both are good apps, but I would definitely have to go with AfterShip in a tuff situation.
Must have app!
I can't stress enough the fact that if you either ship packages and or receive them this app is A MUST HAVE app for tracking packages. It's FREE, gives your status updates for every checkpoint the package stops at. Not only that one of my favorite features is the new copy and paste feature. If you check eBay on a phone or tablet simply hold your finger on the tracking number and hit copy. Once you return to the app it will automatically ask if you want to track the package by pasting the tracking number you copied straight to the app and it even finds out the Carrier in case that Info was listed.
Almost perfect package tracking app
This app is very useful if you are an online shopping person or just someone who gets a lot of packages sent to you with tracking info which is pretty much everything today. (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, etc.) there are a few bugs and one that is pretty big for me is that most of the fedex packages I track show that they will be delivered exactly 1 day before the actual scheduled delivery date on the FedEx tracking website. Aside from that very helpful and useful app otherwise!
It’d be great if the packages that have been marked as delivered since mid 2018 were still considered “past” shipments, but I guess they’re not, so instead you get to scroll through (potentially) a hundred “current” packages to find the ones that are actually current. Also wiped out all my “mark as delivered” packages, so it was especially nice getting to go through each individual tracking number (5-6 auto shipments a month, for over a year) to mark the actual delivered packages as delivered and keep the ones I’m still expecting this month open. Fantastic job screwing that one up. If you haven’t updated yet, DO NOT UPDATE THIS APPLICATION. EDIT/UPDATE: apparently after emailing support they don’t care to look into the * load of issues this app has unless you pay for a subscription.
I sure hope the developers read my review and make the fixes I've mentioned...
Why do you need our email addresses, full name, DOB, SSN (I'm kidding about the SSN)? Other than that, it's a pretty useful app. It's been able to track all my packs EXCEPT for my one international package, after 10 days, it just sort of stopped updating the path of the package. To this day, it's still "in transit" in the app. I recently shipped a package via UPS and never received any tracking information. Thought it might've been just that one package until it happened again. So this app apparently does not track UPS parcels, which is kind of a big deal considering they're one of the top three shipping companies in America. The scanner is a great idea!! I just wished it worked better.. I can only get my scan to read my tracking barcodes 70% of the time. Also I don't like that once you create a "title" for a package, it cannot be edited. Workaround: is that you just delete it and re-add the package's information. This app could be better, but it could be a lot worse.
Not a bad app but could be better
It's a pretty handy app but the time frames are off time to time and updates need to be made asap because I've been waiting on items for way longer than I should and passed the date they said I would get it and it doesn't tell me where my item is on certain items because it still says it's in the same place which I know can't be right but I refuse to give good feedback for something that took a million years to get especially when I've gotten items from the same area weeks after I ordered the first item but the app needs some updates and I think it will be a better app to use
The app itself is great. Having the ability to track many things at one time from different shipping companies is fantastic seeing as I do a decent amount of online shopping. My only complaint with the app is that the notifications I receive are so late they're almost useless. I got a notification saying my package was at the regional distribution facility at 10:00am and didn't receive the notification until 5:00pm that day (distribution facility is in the same time zone as me.) I just wish the notification going out to me wouldn't be hours behind when it's actually happening. Otherwise it's a great app
Keeps getting worse
Apparently, after the update, you can no longer use the camera to scan a barcode. That removes 75% of the functionality of the app. It seems after each update, AfterShip keeps getting worse. As it is, the 3DCart integration is flawed in that I have to select tomorrow’s date when I fulfill an order for it to upload it and track it. Otherwise it gets ignored. They can’t even fix the seemingly simple stuff. Also, can no longer copy a tracking number within an entry. The globe icon for tracking through the carrier doesn’t work either. It opens the carrier website but doesn’t pass the tracking number along. App is completely useless now.
Slow to update
I am expecting a package from Bulgaria (I am in the U.S.). Through the USPS website, it shows the package is in New York already. But through this app, even though it states it was updated today, it still shows it in Bulgaria and is missing three package updates. USPS can now show packages from all over the world and the updates on the USPS site are very quick compared to what they used to be. This app is based on a good idea; however, the information should be up to date, otherwise it is worthless. This app should at minimum have info as current as the USPS website.
