Content Good, App is TRASH

I like this app but I’m sorry, I paid 150$ for access to this and EVERY DAY Haaretz crashes. It’s basically unusable. If you read your news on your phone, I am sad to say I can not recommend this. I can’t recommend anything else either, because this is the only moderate left leaning publication in Israel. PLEASE FIX Haaretz !! If there aren’t any patches soon I will be requesting a refund even though I really want to read the content and support this app.

Rip off: You haveto buy completely separate subscriptions for iPad and iPhone

While this app is informative, they don’t inform you that you will have to buy different subscriptions for different devices. I bought a subscription on my iPhone and it wouldn’t work with my this app iPad app. Then, on top of that they don’t give you a refund when you complain. A rip off.

Too much hassle with app

By early 2022 Haaretz became very unstable. Articles would load and suddenly disappear. Articles would load and then I would get a pop up saying I need to have a subscription (when I’m already signed in with my subscription.) I enjoyed reading this app, but I canceled my subscription because Haaretz is too unreliable.

Juris Doctor

The so vitriolic philosophy of this app against Israel makes me wonder whether facts reported are accurate and whether the editorial staff is anti Semitic. As a result, I am cancelling my digital English edition of this app. I am now a subscriber to Ydiot Achronot digital English edition. Plus this app has the most difficult and awkward cancellation protocol. I am ending my review with the request that, in fact, my cancellation has been duly noted.

A terrific app for news but...

this app is a 5 Star app for information. For some reason the latest version runs so slow when trying to open articles that I’m seriously considering canceling my subscription. I don’t know if the problem is with the latest iPhone OS update or with the latest app version but it’s pretty unusable on my iPhone X now. I’ll try a reinstall again but it looks like I’m killing this subscription to what is fantastic news source.

Unfortunate Pressure!

I became so fatigued by so many restricted articles, after having been initially assured of “Full Access”, together with constant peddling of the New York Times, that I cancelled my subscription two weeks early. Too bad that good journalism is unable apparently to be patient enough to allow serious customers to make a comfortable evaluation!

Good but Shaky Journalism

We need a left-leaning voice in the press, and this app is a good option. However, unlike the New York Times, this app mixes news and opinion, which lowers one’s trust in its accuracy. Still—the best liberal voice on Israeli affairs.

News of Israel

I read your stories to ensure that i have access to the Israeli point of view. Somtimes I think Israel causes its own problems, which we also do in the US.

I wish I understood more about the Palestinian right of return, Israel's nuclear program in Dimona (sp?) including nuclear weapons held by Israel, and why Israel is settling the occupied territories that it took in the 1967 war.

Interestingly, I have found that there seven Semitic derived languages in use today: Arabic (300m speakers), Amharic (22m speakers), Tigrinya (7m speakers), Hebrew (1.1m speakers), Tigre (1.05m speakers), Aramaic (575k speakers), and Maltese (482,880 speakers).

Up to date but too many ada

I bought the yearly digital subscription for while I am out of the country. It is constantly updating what's happening in the country. My only down side is the constant ads. Whats the point in spending so much money if its ads that i have to always ex out of. This could use a little work.

Good articles were not interrupted by advertisementspp.

I bought my subscription to read about events in Israel. To read those articles, I must first get rid of advertising. But the ads do not stop. So I rarely have an easy read, sometimes no read at all. Yet, I need complete news coverage.

English/Hebrew versions

Might be nice if at least some of the lead articles are the same—the audiences aren’t completely different, are they?

Does the job

I love this app so I’m giving it a high rating! It won’t get five stars because Haaretz is simple, filled with annoying ads, and frankly the layout and design is quite sophomoric

Critical News Read

Critical perspective on news reporting for an international audience. I read the financial times front to back. Yet, I’m always drawn to the multiple perspectives of this news source. Critical analysis is provided on such a wide array of topics. But, the biggest surprise is the added articles on latest archeological news in the whole area which seems to spring up in every corner. The details on excavation sites has been amazing on the actual artifacts details/history along with current plans and/or modern construction issues. Incredible.

great reporting and app

Much-needed voice of reason. App is a pleasure to use. Please add true full-screen reading and a landscape mode.

Haaretz

I enjoying reading the articles but of course I just enjoy reading.

Terrific Source of information on all things Israel...and then some!

The gold standard for good journalism in Israel and beyond.

Do I agree with everything that this app prints or advocates for? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Is this app well written, hard hitting and covers the mosaic of Israel and the Diaspora? ABSOLUTELY YES!

It is for us, the subscribers, to draw our own conclusions based on what we read and process.

Thank you!

Wanted a Leftwing Israeli perspective

Everything I get from friends applauds Israel’s every move. Since no nation is perfect, I am now hearing about Israel worts and all. Does not make me love the nation any less.

Excellent writing

Not subscribed yet. Enjoying my free articles. But I am hooked on the timely and fact finding news reported by the authors. Human interest articles are so enlightening. It seems I learn so much about the area. Having friends living just north ofTel Aviv keeps me glued to the content.

Haaretz review

this app often gives the views of opposing sides and critically analyzes policies and practices of the Israeli state and the interplay between Arab and Israeli communities in Palestine. But is covers more than this, it is a deep dive into cultural conflicts and histories, the archeologists and culturalists who use antiquity and colonialism to explore current affairs. One can find honest critiques of governments and politicians that Americans have avoided in a condescending pretend “balance” of news.

Haaretz app

this app is proof that Israel is well ahead of the US in what its newspapers can report. This kind of freedom of speech is rare. Americans cannot be as critical of the US or Israel in US papers as Israelis can be of the US and Israel in newspapers such as this app.

It would be nice to be able to log in on something other than my iPhone—and not be assaulted by pop-up advertisements before even getting to the headlines, however.
