The flight planning is easy to use. Developer quickly responded to an in app navigation issue on my older iPad 3. The updated version is now current. I look forward to further refinements of iFlightPlanner .

The forte of iFlightPlanner is that I can plan a flight on my PC using the desktop version of the program using the much larger screen and a keyboard. The saved flight plan is then available on my iPad where I can transfer the flight plan to Garmin Pilot for use in my airplane. iFlightPlanner is usable in the airplane, particularly for VFR flight. It needs further refinements to match the capabilities of Garmin Pilot and Foreflight for IFR flight use.

Where I will definitely use iFlightPlanner is on my older iPad3 which is too old for the other apps. this app on my iPad3 easily pairs with X-Plane 11 offering moving map display and approach charts for IFR practice flights on the simulator. For the modest cost of an annual basic this app subscription I’ve got a great use for my older iPad on the sim.

I have been using this app for YEARS, and I continue to love this application.

Very good competitor to any other aviation chart/logbook app.

Doesn’t offer a basic version that is free, $50 a year is far too much for someone flying casually on a sim.

I have been an this app website user for two years. The flight planning wizard (complete with weight and balance check specific to your airplane) makes flight planning a complete and efficient process. The addition of this iPad app brings it into the cockpit in an organized and easy to use manner. iFlightPlanner does require you to flight plan online on the website and sync your iPad app via a one touch sync button (bringing your flight onto your iPad). If you are concerned about this two step process don't be...the iPad app has a direct button link to the website to easily accomplish this so you can use your ipad only (if online) to create a new flight. Otherwise, simply go to any computer at the fbo and log in to your this app account and get it done that way. Downloading of charts is very easy and you can specify what regions you want for a quick download or you can download the entire united states if desired Just like other iPad flight planners, this app allows for gps tracking right on the chart. You can't go wrong with the free basic version, although I have the premier version for the weight and balance feature and the digital logbook.

this app is quickly becoming my favorite Flight Planner, inflight use for charts; ie. Lo Alt, Hi Alt, Sectional and of course approach plates! It just works and works well! Best of all, it's FREE! There are some additional features the user may purchase to gain access to more than five aircraft profiles or weight and balance calculations. However, the FREE version is certainly more than adequate for any type of navigation from a a single engine piston to a high altitude flying Jet!

I haven't had any issues but I have suggested a few additions to iFlightPlanner that would be nice and the customer support has been phenomenal!
The Customer Supprt is almost immediate!

Why don't developers test their apps before releasing them??? iFlightPlanner pretty much crashes every single chance it gets. If you tap on an airport diagram, it'll crash. If you tap on weather info for a certain airport, it'll crash. I downloaded all airport diagrams for my selected airports in the states I wanted and some diagrams don't show up when you go to the airport info page. You can't actually use it for flight planning, yet, which is kind of ironic being that they're calling it this app. It seems iFlightPlanner was rushed out and I'm not sure why. It looks like it could have potential. But they can forget about competing with ForeFlight or even WingX (who seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth) with an app that behaves the way this one does...it's very frustrating...even for an initial release.

I initally rated this 1 star and then got a personal email with an apology and a suggested fix that worked like a charm. All I had to do was delete it and redownload. It works perfectly again! I said when I left the 1 star that I would re-rate once it was fixed and while it isn't "fixed" yet, they are aware of it and I was able to get it to work. I believe it still rates a good review.

I went with this app over ForeFlight, because of the timer for approach plates. Great support too. Very fast responses to emails. Some things they need to come up to speed with is an iPhone app.. Would be a great back up. I'd like to see the entire US sectional downloaded instead of having to select every state. Pretty sure Foreflight does that; which never leaves you hanging if you happen to cross over a state border inadvertently and want to land somewhere.

The new features in 2.0 of highlighting the airspace is fantastic! Makes for much easier flight planning. The voice recorder auto pause is equally great for hearing back transmissions. A great improvement is the zoom level and clarity of the charts.
Overall 2.0 is a great upgrade and great resource in the aircraft.

I really love using iFlight planner. I have been using it for several years now. There are features I love during planning and flight. Like being able to view my eta in flight so he can calculate when to start my decent by time. Planning is great. Don't like a leg, just click and drag.

iFlightPlanner worked great for planning with my son on our trip from Northern Illinois to Southern Florida for his long IFR cross country training. On the way home we were able to track surface temps through ADS-B so that we didn't have to worry about icing while descending through clouds.

I just updated to 2.2.1 on my iPad mini (retina). Every time I hit map or explore maps the program terminates. I deleted the program and reloaded it with the same result. Was this program tested or are we the beta testers.

Update
The program now works correctly. I noticed that it was updated on August 10.

Fantastic update from the previous version to the 2.0! In app planning is a major step forward with tons of great little add ons to this version that make it easier to use and more user friendly. Plus...I gotta love the addition of a timer on the approach plates.

I have used apps like this that charge money to use. Thankfully it was just a trial because iFlightPlanner has everything you you need and I would hate paying for that. Looking forward to the updates! It can only get better.

Just started using iFlightPlanner and I'm already impressed- has great charts, great download features, great weather info etc... I'm thinking that I agree with another comment that it is better than foreflight! Try it out.

Been using iFlightPlanner for about three months. Very easy and intuitive in the aircraft. Customer support has been fantastic with any question asked or recommended enhancements .

Flying single pilot a lot this is a must to have so much information available at all times like having someone flying with you at all times.

All of the chart information is at your fingertips. This product is very intuitive.

Love iFlightPlanner . It includes automatic routing and the computer interface that I believe make it superior to their competition.
