Premium Customer since 2017. All of a sudden, DSTV (which by the way has the monopoly in SA) decides to reduce the number of user of the DSTV app to 1! The reason? To combat password sharing. Why do honest and law abiding customers need to pay the price? Who was sitting in that room and made that decision ?
There is Channel 132(CBS reality) on the app that has been stuck on the same spot for months. Each time you select that channel on the app it shows you the same scene, and it has been like that for months. But who cares at DSTV? They are too busy punishing the right customers because few customers are in the wrongs. Mind blowing
I struggle with receiving my monthly invoices. It is systematic: in a quarter there is at least one month missing. And the struggle I go through to get that missing invoice is incredible. Such a basic right yet DSTV doesn’t care fixing it. but again who cares at DSTV? They are too busy punishing the right customers because few customers are in the wrongs. In the meantime there are wrongs in its own system that DSTV doesn’t care fixing. That’s what monopoly does to customer service

I agree with the other reviews. App is not great. Is has great potential however. Too many poor streaming experiences to my apple tv. Lots of freezing and stuttering. Wish it worked better. Also, apple tv app is still missing which is a massive gap from a development point of view.
6 May review: After the update for the previous version i could for the first time since using the app airplay an entire episode without constant buffering / freezing etc. So step in right direction. However it was inconsistent. Sometimes it worked and other times i could not even airplay anything. Lets see what this latest version does.
11 May review: Yup. Back to the old days. Cannot airply to apple tv without constant freezing / stuttering / no sound etc. Cannot even watch properly on lowest quality setting on my phone. Showmax works perfectly, maybe learn from them?

US residents are not able to subscribe to DSTV due to broadcasting rights not available outside of Africa. It’s really disappointing because I, for one truly enjoy African programming and sure there’s plenty more according to the reviews that feel the same way. So with that in mind, I have a question. The US Market could bring more revenue to you guys if expanded to more countries/continents. Knowing the broadcasting rights are an issue, how would your company go about getting those broadcasting rights outside of Africa to allow people like myself to subscribe? Thank you and hopefully you guys would consider expanding in the near future.
