Oct 18: Now it appears they’ve gone to bait & switch. I just triple checked the info in PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum Store - nowhere does it mention a “trial period” but now, the reloaded app crashes when I try to open any folder because my “10 day trial” is up and I’m required to buy the upgrade to regain access to my photos!
Oct 5: Been using it for a few years & it’s been good. Yesterday I updated my phone and pad to ios13.1.2. So far the phone is still OK but on the pad PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum crashes if you try to open a folder that has another folder inside it. This makes it useless as my photos are in year folders with month or event folders inside them. At at least 2 or 3 thousand photos per year I see no other reasonable way to arrange things. I tried to contact Tech Support but it sends me to a Twitter sign up site.
I admit that I’m only middlin’ good with a computer, but I used to build prototype safety systems for nuclear weapons and complex electro- mechanical mirrors for tuning high powered lasers and I can recognize when something has suddenly gone wrong.

I’ve had PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum since almost its beginning. At first it worked perfect, then one day they updated it and everything I had stored in PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum disappeared. I stopped caring about it but left it on my phone. Then they did another update and magically all my stuff was back. Great! Well now they updated it yet again and everything I had is gone once again.

Don’t waste your time on PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum the developers don’t know what they want it to be and the end result is their users losing their files.

I sent them an email to see if there was a way to get back my files and such. If they actually respond with a solution I’ll update this review but until then stay away from PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum there are better ones out there with better support.

Ever since this apps last update to 6.0 I have been unable to access my photos that I saved in it and have lost over 400 pictures that were in it. I have tried using the password I used every time before and it doesn’t work, I’ve tried using the decoy password I made and still nothing. It doesn’t even tell me it’s the wrong password and give me the option to create a new one, it just does not work. I loved PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum before this and would use it all the time but now I cannot so, I will not give it a good rating and will have to tell others the problems I’ve had unless something is done to fix this. Really do hope this issue is fixed soon and no one else is having the same problem.

Update: Now at update 6.6 and I still can’t access any of my files. I tried the “reset password” I read about on other reviews and still had no success and I have tried every passcode option I can think of and nothing works.

I have had PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum for years, and experienced the same update issues as everyone else but this time around I can’t even access my photos. The calculator face screen is completely gone and replaced with an alternate passcode mode that uses the text panel on my phone. I’ve tried over and over but it will not accept my password so now, not only is it not hidden and looks just like a media storage page but I can’t even get into it and have most likely lost 1000’s of photos

I’ve been tracking my weight through PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum. Was willing to purchase because of great reviews. I recently searched for PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum to add photos, couldn’t find it, and completely freaked out. I called and waited on the phone for an hour to speak to iTunes. They were extremely helpful and assisted me by identifying the original app name, which was NOT “media.” I’m assuming others use PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum for similar personal photos. I’m going to transfer everything to a hard drive and delete PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum. They should have sent a notice to customers about changes. I’ll never be dumb enough to store anything personal on my phone again.

When I deleted those private pics from the photo gallery on my iPhone that I imported to PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum they were still on PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum , so the only location those pics are in is in PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum . Ok, that's good.

However, when I deleted a few videos from the gallery on my phone the video thumbnail was still in PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum , but the videos wouldn't play. If I want my videos to play on PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum , I need to keep them in my album (not something I want to do). Why can't you do the same with video? No bueno.

Please fix this problem. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum, and I am not satisfied.

Trying to import more than 300 files will cause an application crash every single time. More importantly, enabling Touch ID on an iPhone X will result in an immediate and unrecoverable application crash on Startup. When his happens, the only recourse is to delete PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum and reinstall the files. Yes, I know iPhone X does not have Touch ID, however Apple built a compatibility layer into the OS to substitute Face ID when Touch ID is requested. Every other app is able to handle this except for this one.

The fact that there is no tech support except for social media means bugs like this go unpatched due to the developer.s self-imposed inaccessibility.

I’ve always had a good experience with PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum, until the most recent update. They changed PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum name to Media and completely changed the format. I had no idea what to do when I unsuccessfully attempted to login with the password I had always used. The developers gave NO info on what to do or how to proceed with the new layout. Thankfully, due to a very helpful review, I have also had success with this fix. Type “reset password” (without the quotation marks, but include the space and use all lowercase letters) into the password box and then tap “Done”. This will prompt you to create a new password, and then it will ask you to use that new password to login. Based on my experience, it logged me into my account and everything appeared to be just as it was before the update. HOWEVER, after thinking about it a bit, I was curious to see if attempting to reset the password again would work. And it did. So basically, if anyone were to get ahold of your phone and know about this information, they could easily just reset your password and gain access to all your files. Definitely something to think about before storing anything that you don’t want others to see. Hope this helps!

Maybe I missed something when I was reading about PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum because I don’t remember it saying you had to buy an upgraded version to continue to add pics. It’s only $2.99 but, of course, it’s the principle of it. The other thing is they made me review PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum before I had even figured out how to use it, exactly. All in all PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum works- it’s just imperfect and bare bones, which I don’t mind at the moment. But most importantly i like the icon. It’s inconspicuous. I’d never be tempted to open it out of curiosity as it looks incredibly boring. Any icon looking like a safe or lock or something will draw people’s attention. I’d rather not have to deal with explaining it to someone who’s not allowed to see them.

To any one who was locked out after an automatic update I think I figured it out. I was one of the few people who actually paid for PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum back when it looked like a calculator (better idea btw) I was locked out after it automatically updated. And my original password wouldn’t work. Come to find out What ever my phone password was at the time of the update is what the password was changed to for PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum . Hope this was helpful for some people who lost their person porn collection.

PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum is great and does what I expected. I would however love an added feature. When you are viewing a photo/video I would love to be able to swipe down to exit the photo/video and go back to the thumbnails instead having to always hit the back button (reference the ‘Photos’ app on iPhone). This would allow for faster and smoother interaction between user and app. It’s not a deal breaker but something to consider.

I would have rated this five stars. Honestly, I would have. There is just one problem. PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum 's Mini-Title reads "Calculator Photo Vault", which kind of defeats the purpose of a calculator disguise. If you look, on the home screen (at least on 4-inch devices), it reads "Calculator ...". This implies that there is more to the title. In multitasking mode, you can see the full title, "Calculator Photo Vault", which gives it away. Other than that, PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum is perfect.

PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum is the best ever, it works perfectly and never has any type of a glitch.
Keeps everything very well organized and secure.
I am very happy with this one and I have had seven or eight different types and this is by far my favorite!

If you want an app for security you would find it well to add this to your phone it is absolutely 100% at least at this point and still going I've had it for about a year and a half maybe two years

To those who are still stuck and no luck with “reset password” ... try “1234” without quotes.
I was locked out after the upgrade and have been crazily trying “reset password”. But today just thought about trying something random like “0000”, “1111” and then i triend “1234” and BOOM .. the password was accepted.
I was very frustrated but Luckily i didn’t delete PhotoVaultLockPhotosAlbum and tried different combinations. Good luck all with your lost data. (y)

Definitely great, it's very useful to have for things like passwords, and private things in general. It's nice to know that no one could snoop around your phone and find your private information. I like that there isn't even one, but two passwords you have to figure out before you could get in it. It is So protective of your things and it makes me feel safer about my things.
