For a paid app, there are too many basic features missing for serious musicians without having to purchasing extra features: the ability to select a tempo in increments smaller than +/-5, and the inability to filter out unpurchased add-on grooves leads to absurd "VIP" content clutter in the UI. To their credit, the developer did respond quickly, acknowledging that these were annoying issues, but that eliminating them will require subscriptions. I will be looking into Drum Genius to use instead of DrumBeatsRhythmMachine.
I was looking for some funky world beat type grooves to practice with, and have the desktop app version, which is really good, but the iOS version requires a subscription to get to anything besides basic rock, country and pop rhythms, no way to purchase a lasting set. I could be wrong, maybe I went for a subscription there as well,, but for the money, there are more rhythms in Drum Genius and you are not locked into a subscription format. Seems every app developer wants you to pay rent for the rest of your life these days.
I play the beat through an AirPlay speaker to practice guitar and there's some glitch where sometimes it will stop working all together and not play sounds through my phone or the speaker. The only way I can get it to work again is to reboot my phone. It's annoying.
Other wise DrumBeatsRhythmMachine is cool and has lots of great beats. I would also like it if there was a way to access all the beats within the specific key signature in one place.
I'm still glad I bought it overall.
Please don’t let my rating deter you from buying DrumBeatsRhythmMachine. DrumBeatsRhythmMachine has a ton of great beats to work with while learning. However, to gain access to the majority of what DrumBeatsRhythmMachine offers you have to drop much more money than I personally think is necessary. If I’m going to spend that much money then I will go ahead and buy a professional studio program. It’s just a few dollars more and although I might have to write my own beats it’s much more versatile. I do however highly recommend this for a great metronome and simple beats to learn and dig out new ideas. The developers of DrumBeatsRhythmMachine have done a great job but may have attached a little bit too high a price tag on its full capabilities
DrumBeatsRhythmMachine took me about five seconds to learn how to use, which is my favorite thing about it. Also the beats are really great and the sound is good and all of that. For about 25 bucks you can download the rest of their collection, but the $5 version does offer a lot. I would like to see a function where you can sort the beats by time signature or other things. And also a notes section for your favorites. Definitely worth the five bucks.
Playing along with a regular metronome will help you bring your playing into alignment with the actual tempo, but DrumBeatsRhythmMachine will give you the luxury of a more 'true to life' playing situation while you're at it. One thing I like is the help it is to have the occasional drum beat 'turn around' at the start of the measure to help me know where the measures start, something that is easy for me to lose track of while practicing. Highly recommended music practice tool.
I play bass guitar, and I essentially feel that you need drums to fully develop more as a player, I've been messing with this for a couple of days now, but I feel like I'm listening so much more differently and getting more in depth musically by understanding on how a drummer thinks and plays. I think it's great for any instrumentalist even drummers it's a good tool for inspiration.
If you want to practice with the real thing, this is it. No matter what music genre you love and play, DrumBeatsRhythmMachine covers a wide variety of rhythms for your needs, giving you the chance to expand your rhythmic library with in-app purchases, from rock, pop, jazz, latin and more. It's impressive the high quality of the sounds and how useful they can be, it's the perfect companion if you don't have a drummer or percussionist on your band. I love it !!!
Love it! Great writing tool . I play guitar and sing and record it all on GBand . DrumBeatsRhythmMachine can be recorded there. I prefer real acoustic drums for everything but this gives my drummer and bass player a clear picture to go from before rehearsal . Great as a future reference for song ideas /writing tool. I wish there were more swing beats and surf beats . No surf beats on mine. Total control of tempo and volume . It’s a keeper.
What took DrumBeatsRhythmMachine so long to be developed? Why I ask? Because I've been a music teacher and a Music Academy owner for 14 years and I needed a program like this to 1) help my students improve their timing in the classroom, 2) have a nice style appropriate groove while accompanying my vocal students during their lessons, and 3) allow my drum students to hear various grooves, and practice these grooves in addition to the curriculum study.
DrumBeatsRhythmMachine is a must have!

I needed something other than clicks from a metronome to keep myself interested. I have been playing for a long time so this was a great idea. I was looking to try another app from this developer but they are working out some tweaks. Anyway, I digress.
DrumBeatsRhythmMachine has more drum tracks, straight metronome clicks and different types of rhythms and even inspiring tracks. With this being a very easy to use app, you can’t lose when looking for something to jam to and improve your playing.
I have to recommend DrumBeatsRhythmMachine for guitarists, bassists, anyone looking to have a great and extensive list of great rhythms and times to work and play with. Five out of five stars.
This is a great app. I'm an old-school country and western swing guitarist and between the provided beats and the country package I have everything I need for practicing. Metronomes are much better than having something playing the chord progression a lot of the time since you can stop to work on a particular passage or fingering and pick right back up without having to restart or find your place in the chord progression. I wish you could select your own BPM instead of going by the five BPM increments the way DrumBeatsRhythmMachine is set up, and I wish it had more range in terms of tempo's. I would really rated about a 4.8 instead of 5 because of those limitations, but even so a great, great app and a lot of fun to play with.
I am a bluegrass player. Using DrumBeatsRhythmMachine makes practicing fiddle tunes, scales and chord progressions on guitar, mandolin fun and challenging. Wish only that I could change the tempo in smaller increments than 5s. But that is really not that big a deal. I have purchased several of the different "packages" and like them all. In my real life I am a middle school band director. Last year I played DrumBeatsRhythmMachine through our PA system during scale practice. The kids loved playing scales with various rhythmic backgrounds. Great app for any musician.
Out of all of the drum apps available to use as a rhythm accompaniment track, this is the most straightforward. You can choose the rate usually in accurately, and there are a relatively large number of options for rhythm patterns. Start and stop button is easy to use, and starts back on the downbeat. I am not a drummer, and I am not trying to learn drums – I just want an app that will give me the background drum/rhythm I need for simple recording, or even live purposes.
5 stars. Don't know how I got along without this. Not live-instrument quality, but totally adequate for my daily practice sessions. I purchased most of the genre packs and generally have all the beats needed for anything I take a stab at.
I feel that the beats packs are well-priced, and commercial services like this have a better chance of sticking around and improving their products.
It isn't mentioned anywhere, so I thought others will want to know that DrumBeatsRhythmMachine runs perfectly in the background on my iPad Air 2, which was the main problem I had with other drum loop apps. I was able to run the loops while running both Guitar Pro and the Line 6 Mobile Pod.
Big thank you and Kudos to the developers - please continue developing and supporting DrumBeatsRhythmMachine. I look forward to expanded packs in the future. This is one of those must-have apps for guitar practice.
Everything that the five-star reviews say. Our band sometimes has to practice without the drummer, and I've always been able to find the right beat to go with a song just from the free ones, even if it sometimes took up precious group time auditioning through a few. Now I have most of my go-to beats written down in my sheet music or at least Favorited in DrumBeatsRhythmMachine .
For writing, it is fun and easy to dial up a beat that is infinitely more inspiring than a metronome and won't bog down your workflow.
I've been teaching drums for over 40 years and have been playing for over 60 years. I have seen and used many creative ways of training drummers. Books, sheet music, hands on teaching and metronomes were all we had back in early years of my training. All of the modern technology, computers apps of this nature are wonderful tools, To help make the modern drummer the best that he can be. DrumBeatsRhythmMachine does what drum machines and metronomes always do, "Hold the drummer accountable for keeping the beat and staying in the pocket. One of the best drum machine apps out there.
I was so tired of practicing with metronome apps, all those clicks and snaps, that I was delighted to find this group of beats to play to. I usually stick with the straight beats for running scales, but there's plenty of variety for inspiration and to aid writing songs. This is an app I use every day and is why I give it a five star rating. I do have one gripe that I know others have too. It's the fact that it only goes down to sixty beats per minute. If you want to practice a slow ballad, say at 50 bpm, then you have to set it at 100 bpm, which makes it sound too busy.
These are really great drum tracks, I wish these had been included in my Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)! They are really nice loops and you can just turn them on and let them go, they are so much better than a click track or a metronome to practice with. To get more, I think they are a bit expensive and wish there was an option to purchase all of them for like $10 to $15. To buy them all gets a bit expensive... Still that's no enough to drop DrumBeatsRhythmMachine from 5 Stars, this is just a great app and it works perfectly and is a perfect practice AND performance application!
The more I use this, the more I absolutely love it! It's the best!
I like DrumBeatsRhythmMachine, but am only giving three stars because I have one big gripe with it. You pay $4 already for DrumBeatsRhythmMachine . But it limits you to tempo increments of 5 (95, 100, 105, etc.) unless you pay more money. Having increments of 1 should NOT be considered a pro feature for which you pay more. That should be a basic feature covered by $4.
UPDATE: With the new update, they have remedied my complaint. The base app now allows fine tempo increments of 1. Thank you! 5 stars now.
