I’d give it zero stars if I could. I’ve been using YBRaces to track the Chicago Mac Race for years and this is by far the worst version yet. These are my top three issues: 1) You cannot save favorite teams, you have to go through the process of finding your teams every time you open YBRaces . 2) You cannot tag a boat and have it highlighted on the map. 3) You cannot select and follow a single boat within a team, you have to see all of them. You’ve done much better in the past, fix this for next year!

Really disappointing when you’re trying to follow a race, but since you’re using IOS device and you are not *allowed* to follow it in a browser instead of having to download this buggy, constantly crashing app that lacks something as simple as being able to search for a racer on the map page. Props for trying to support racing, but give us the option to use the browser app until you improve YBRaces. Miserable experience, especially when there’s no option

I can’t understand why the Vendee Globe, the most impressive and important race along with the Golden Globe isn’t part of the listing.
That’s a major mistake.
I hope you guys will fix this as soon as possible, as the race started already 5 days ago.
I would have rated YBRaces much higher if I could find the Vendee Globe among all the races you follow.

Following a sailing race from the armchair is all about understanding what is happening on the course and on each vessel; it is all about data: wind, currents, and boat speed and course, comparing these data in a specific time range give the juice of it. Well NONE, absolutely noneof this is doable in this horrendous app, wind representation is absolutely horrible.
Using YBRaces is a continuous accidental jibe! Stop it!

I cant make heads or tails of the listing for races. No explanation of what the column headings are and i they mixed data types in the table cells.
Nice visuals and didn't crash for me as some complained. But hard to tell what some of it means.

Compared to using the Yellowbrick tracking provided online for free by major race organizations, this Yellowbrick app is barely usable. The difference between their online tracking system and YBRaces is striking. Online you can zoom easily, see a map in the background, group racers into a "favorites" group so just the boats you are interested in can be tracked and several other features. All of this is missing from the iOS app. The zoom function does not zoom in close enough to select individual boats racing in close proximity. Even trying a stylus to select individual boats doesn't seem to help. Yes you do see boats racing along a course and yes you can engage a leaderboard. But the ability to do anything else (as in Yellowbrick's online web system) is totally lacking. YBRaces is free (big deal!). Individual race tracking must be purchased per race. I purchased the Newport-Bermuda Race because my son is aboard one of the boats. But I won't be purchasing any more races until this Yellowbrick app gets a thorough upgrade.

I won’t complain about the lack of features relative to the “desktop” (web) version. But given the minimal feature set, those features should actually work. Any time YBRaces loses focus, you lose your race tracking. “Error: Sorry there was a problem loading this race - please try again.” Funny because there wasn’t a problem 2 seconds ago when I last had YBRaces open...

Usability is also a bit wonky. It uses the universal symbol of “search” (magnifying glass) as the zoom button. Not sure how many times I’ve hit it hoping it’d search for a boat I’m tracking. Nope, that’s the “Teams” tab. Find your boat then figure out the concentric circle icon means to highlight the boat back on the map.

Get the basics right then we can talk about the features it lacks relative to the website.

I got YBRaces only because of limited computer access during the race I'm following, and I could hardly be more dissatisfied. First, YBRaces crashes often. But worse than that, it hangs up my iPad completely, forcing me to restart every time. To make matters worse, when it actually does run, it offers only the most basic of features. The online Flash-based tracking through Yellowbrick is really impressive and quite rich in features, while YBRaces looks and performs like it was thrown together at the last second by the company's most incompetent programmer.
Some of my particular frustrations are:
- Boat photos don't show up
- Wind speed/direction data constantly "unavailable"
- Difficult to select one individual boat... Can't zoom in enough
- No map on GUI (this thing is ugly!) making it harder to track progress against familiar coastal towns
- Where are the rest of the features!?

Yellowbrick has put as little effort into YBRaces as possible, and it shows. Bottom line: DO NOT GET YBRaces!

YBRaces works great and is an excellent
way to follow the races. Like any app you
have to learn its tricks, but it works like a
charm. I don't understand the criticism
about price. It's a relief to be able to pay
a fair price for an online experience and
have to worry about privacy issues. I wish
my favorite online haunts even gave me
that option. Kudos to the yb team!

N.B. This rating interface is horrible- text
disappears as I type and I keep having to
manually insert "return." I don't recall rating
an app before so I have no idea what it's
going to look like.

We have used YB Tracking service for races over several years. YBRaces works well to help monitor the events and for race fans to follow the action. Customer service is always great too.

It worked on my iPhone 6+. I was able to track my 2 friends racing in KOH most of the day. Please make the zoom function also make the car numbers get bigger. I needed a microscope to read them. It would also help if you could label some of the main geographics such as "main pit", "back door", "chocolate thunder" so I could orient

The YB Tracking app has added a new level of interest in the PH Mackinac for my friends and very amusing Apple tv viewing in the winter. Too much fun. Thank you. By far it is my favorite app. Yes, we follow ourselves up and down.

Can you please make it easier to select the teams. To have to go in and Unselect all the sections is a hassle. Plus it does not stick when you reload it. Make it easy and make it the same as viewing the leaderboards

App is great, but I want it on all my devices, will not pay $2.99 for each device, please confirm it can be restored to all my devices.

Downloaded to track a vehicle I sponsored at every mans challenge at king of the hammers... Had to pay 2.99 to download race info that I can get for free online on a computer but wanted to watch while I was away from one.. Once I paid 2.99 it showed all the vehicles in the pit the entire race... Extremely dissatisfied

Does not work on I-pad. It want to to down-load Java Script (does not work on an i-pad) or Flash Drive 10 - then buy the race in i-tunes - does not work - never got into system to view race. Don,t waste your time or money on Yellow Brick for i-pad.... This would really rate as 0 stars because it does not work .... but o stars is not an option

Not so good that you can get the live race updates on the web for free but must pay for them on YBRaces .

Sometimes users are just prima donnas: adequate for what you need on the go; if you’re gonna be fussy, stay at your desk! 🤗

I was able to follow our friends boat on this race for about 24 hours. Great app! Great fun!

I enjoy YBRaces however, I would prefer to choose the group it am following versus eliminating all the groups I don't want to follow
