I was looking for an app for someone with special needs and short term memory problems. Ideally I wanted an app where he could fill in the events of each day so that he could keep a running log of his activities to help him remember what he had done each day. This app allows you to update your entry at any time so you can add each event as the days go on. I would have like the app to allow photos and time stamp each entry throughout the day. Pictures entries would really help for folks who have expressive language problems but still want to journal. The interface with the app is user friendly and that’s great for people who aren’t high tech. It’s a decent app - better than the complicated ones. But I was hoping for a little more.

I downloaded this in 2015. I just retrieved it from the iCloud. It was interesting to read my old posts. It’s a shame that you can only do 14 posts and then you have to pay. I had forgot about this. I will think about paying but not sure if I will considering I’m on disability/social security and don’t have “extra” money floating around. Read somethings that I had forgotten about. Good app, just looking for something free at all times. I used my pages app for journaling but Apple has seen fit to update it so that it is no longer compatible with my iPad Air. Now I have no access to anything I had on there ie. over 1000 recipes plus a bunch of other stuff. Guess I have to get a new iPad, what a shame, this one still works perfectly.

I use this app to journal my thoughts from the day. I like it a lot - it's very simple to use, and no-frills. One of the other reviewers said the paid version is the same as the free one, but it isn't -- I believe there's a limit to the number of entries you can write a month on the free version, and maybe other limitations in terms of back-up and the like. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because of the back-up function. I like to convert my entries to PDFs every month or so and email them to myself so I have an external record of my writing. However, when you attach photos to a day's entry (which I do with some frequency), the app does NOT reduce the size of those photos and the pdfs become ridiculously large and impossible to manage. Sometimes I have to export day by day to PDF because four or five photos attached to an entry and boom, you're at like 12MB or something. It would be nice to have the ability to save as a smaller file size with the photos. Other than that, I really enjoy the app and it has encouraged me to write more often, which is very therapeutic to me.
