Buggy. Don’t bother.

2022-05-24

I keep seeing how many people love SportsAlerts. It’s been nothing but a headache for the year + I’ve had it.
First of all, the widget never shows up. It’s just a blank space. Never updating. I delete SportsAlerts , restart the phone, reinstall, same garbage.
Then SportsAlerts for the watch is one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
When it decides it’s going to actually load and not give me an error, it automatically loads a game from months ago, for a team that isn’t even in my favorites. I then have to go back to leagues and reload.
They have so many bugs in SportsAlerts it’s ridiculous. The worst part is it could be by far the best sports app. But after 12+ months it’s still the same piece of hot cabbage it was the on the day I got it.

Has potential but needs work

2022-06-25

I REALLY wanted to like SportsAlerts, considering it’s the only one on SportsAlerts Store that has iOS 14 widgets. I like the idea of SportsAlerts , being able to have multiple widgets for different teams and leagues and sports.

However, in my using SportsAlerts , I’ve found the widgets and app to be very inconsistent when updating scores. The widgets don’t update hardly at all (even with background refresh on) and the main app is slow to update with real time information. Other sports apps, such as CBS sports or ESPN at least have near real time updates with scores. SportsAlerts is inconsistent with that aspect.

For example: I’m getting near real-time updates about the MLB spring training games faster from other apps than I am with this by a factor of about 10-30 minutes. The Red Sox/Braves game started almost an hour ago and I JUST NOW got the notification from SportsAlerts while others have already alerted me at the start of the game.

Again, I really want to like SportsAlerts and give it higher marks because of the widgets but in its current form, it doesn’t update nearly as fast as it’s led on to believe and that is its biggest handicap right now.

Yankees Rolls!!

2022-07-26

The sports alert works great! It lets me know step by step who's up in the Yankees team. I just wish it would only alert me for the Yankees not the other teams. But, I am okay with it. It's a good app., and while worth it to have I think.
Well, I guess I can't say enough, this sport app. is the "GREATEST" app. ever!!! I like the new addition to this sports App. Thanks, the videos to how the Yankees played by the other team is great thank you!!!👍🏼👍🏼😉. Keep up the new attachments!! Again, again it's a great Sports App!!! Thank you😊
Again you guy who ever you are, keep up SportsAlerts . good work.👍🏼. GO YANKEES!!!!! Well, all I can say is as long as there’s no flaws that show up on SportsAlerts. I like it SportsAlerts.!!!😀. Now if only SportsAlerts. could make the Yankees team win I would be very happy 😃! But I know you can’t, so just keep SportsAlerts. working fine that’s all I want. Still can’t say enough of how SportsAlerts plays out for sports even in the 2020 virus year we’re in. I thank you for this sport app!👍🏼👍🏼

Olympics would be great (and other stuff)

2022-08-27

I adore SportsAlerts-it has been my go to for stats, scores, and standings for years now. Phenomenal interface: simple and clean. I’m also continually impressed by the maintenance and updates that are often rolled out. A few things I would love to see developed: - Olympics results - An ability to favorite/follow an entire conference/top 25 in NCAA sports - An ability to sort games by tv channel/follow certain networks for coverage - updated jerseys/icons next to player names when grouped in Player Tracker (as much as I’d love to see the sixers rock the 2000s red/black unis as a throwback) - a Player Tracker that allows for comparing season stats as opposed to only daily stats Again, thank you for making (and more importantly, maintaining) my favorite sports app. Much appreciated and relied on.

The best executed sports app

2022-09-28

Over the last 10 years, I’ve used a plethora of sports apps for checking scores and stats. All of the main apps such as CBS, ESPN, TheScore, and BR have shortcomings in (some larger than others) in these two areas. I used these apps, and more, for periods of time ranging from one week to a year +. I was never truly satisfied with any of them.

I don’t care to read articles natively within an app. Especially one that sends me notifications for articles that are locked behind a premium tier. I use a RSS feed already.

I don’t want videos-that-started-as-tweets with un-skippable adds. — I follow my preferred sports journalists on Twitter already.

I don’t care about anything other than being able to quickly check the scores/stats of specific games/teams/players without having to look hard. Sports Alerts does it better and more intuitively than any app out there. So many of the other apps have a prioritization of sports locked into a vertical column. You can change the order, but you can’t quickly get from one to the other faster than searching the game. There aren’t pop up adds littering the page with Sports Alerts. There’s a small banner ad, that’s it. If you don’t want any ads, it offers a one time payment for no ads for life. That’s so rare these days. I really miss when this was the norm. Support the dev(s) who actually give a d*mn.

Absolutely worth it

2022-10-29

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but these guys and girls deserve it. SportsAlerts is amazing, and their customer support is awesome. I emailed them about my favorite NCAA team having a slightly outdated logo and they corrected it almost immediately. They also helped me out with a family sharing issue promptly. I know some don’t like the payment system, so it’s great to have free options with ads. However, it seems to be a trend lately that other apps aren’t letting you pay to remove (which I vastly prefer) like these guys do.

Thanks for making a great app, and Go Georgia Southern Eagles!

Fast, Light, and Customizable

2022-11-30

Most sports apps are owned by big networks who try to badger you with as many ads and notifications as possible.

SportsAlerts is independent and works really well. Love how fast and responsive it is. Clean layout and the ability fine tune how many notifications you receive at a league, team, and player level is fantastic.

And thanks for including the $10 (one time) no ads version!

Excellent sports app

2022-12-31

For the last two years I have been using SportsAlerts and I thought and still think it’s one of the best sports apps available. I find no problem with it at all even when it was an unpaid app on my iPhone. So I just decided to purchase SportsAlerts just because I liked it so much and I wanted to support the developers. Thanks for your hard work and thanks for making SportsAlerts extremely accessible for visually impaired users.

just the scores (and yet so much more)

2023-02-01

* To get the OLD widget to reappear simply reboot your phone and it will return! *

As an Apple Watch user, I find SportsAlerts absolutely indispensable. While much bigger and more well-known apps are unable to display all the scores at a glance, SportsAlerts does exactly that. A no-frills view of the scores (I use it primarily for NCAA and NFL football scores). It can do much more, but it knows when to just stay out of the way.
This is the best app if you just want to know the game scores. It’s amazing that all of the other apps I’ve tried just make it so difficult to find the info I want without all kinds of ads and nonsense.

Despite the greatness of SportsAlerts, which is already well-represented in its reviews, I was prompted to write it to include the note at the top. I actually came to find the contact info for the devs to complain about the new iPhone widgets and removal of the old one that was small and unobtrusive. I looked at some reviews to ensure I wasn’t the only one with this issue, and it turns out the devs responded to one such complaint. The solution was simple: just reboot your phone and the old widget will return. Simple. Crisis averted. Same great widget back where it belongs. I hope someone reads this review and this solves this issue. I was upset but now I am relieved.

One small request...

2023-03-05

Absolutely love SportsAlerts! Works great with my Apple Watch too! I do have one small request… When using dark mode on my iPhone, some teams who have dark logos with no light outline are hard to read. This happens when I use the widget in iOS 14 when the Yankees, Dodgers and Padres are playing and their logos gets lost in the dark background and are hard to read. Could you please put a white outline around them so they’re easier to see? Thank you! Keep up the good work!

App designed for it’s utility and nothing more

2023-04-03

Decided to drop the ESPN app and other sports apps for this one. I was searching for an app just for scores and general alerts. I get tired of being bombarded with click-bait and opinion pieces. ESPN also seemed to have issues loading and playing videos. I wanted something simple to get the info I needed without having other content to try and grab my attention. I appreciate the straightforwardness of SportsAlerts. More isn’t always better.

Best Apple Watch Sports App but a Few Suggestions

2023-05-05

I love SportsAlerts a lot but I do have a few suggestions that could make it better.

It is by far the best sports app for the watch especially because you can see the scores of whole leagues instead of just your favorite teams. I love the features with the alerts and the player stats. However, there are a things that could make it even better:

- fixing the ESPN Fantasy App player upload, which has never worked for me even though I know I’m using the right login info.
- Including other competitions in soccer, like the English Cup, DFB Pokal, UEFA Super Cup, and maybe even some of the friendlies instead of just the leagues’ regular seasons
- and allowing favorites and/ or multiple complications along with adding more leagues.

I hope you take my suggestions into consideration. Thanks!

Just Keeps Getting Better and Better

2023-06-05

I started with SportsAlerts several years ago as just a basic way to check scores without all the add and ‘noise’ included in so many other sports apps. But several times a year the developers put out an updated release with improvements - sometimes big, sometimes small, but always with the focus on making SportsAlerts more useful.
I strongly recommend SportsAlerts as your go-to app for getting scores and details without all the fluff.

All You Need to Keep Informed

2023-07-07

SportsAlerts is fantastic, easy to set up for following your favorite teams, regardless of Pro or College sports. Easy to drill down to various specifics, if for example, you are a fan of the Big 10, specifically Ohio State Buckeyes, and wish to see who they still have to play, and who their competition still has to play. This way you can better speculate how the bowl season will shape up. That's the tip of this very fully realized sports information program. Superb, fantastic, outstanding!!! I could go on and on! Just get SportsAlerts NOW!!!

Defines What an App Should Be

2023-08-07

Simply put, SportsAlerts does everything you could want and then some. The user interface is fantastic and all the information you could want is intuitively available with the touch of a finger. This is one of my most used apps. I use it for tracking past/upcoming games, standings, TV coverage, real time scores, and the list goes on! I also have SportsAlerts synced with my watch for easy real-time scores when checking with my phone is inconvenient. SportsAlerts covers most pro and college sports and even includes PGA coverage. Unlike most apps, I can recommend this one with ZERO reservations.

My “go to” source for scores and other related data…

2023-09-08

SportsAlerts is my “go to” source for sports scores and a plethora of related sports data. You can access team information and the information of individual athletes. SportsAlerts is easy to navigate and is hard to live without during any sports season. I use SportsAlerts multiple times each day to keep abreast of all the sports happenings….and you can tailor make the information for those teams that you look to follow extremely closely.

In all, one of the best apps I have used!!! HIGHLY recommend SportsAlerts to all sports enthusiasts!!!!

The perfect sports score app.

2023-10-10

For a long time I used the ESPN and CBS app to check sports scores on the go. Those apps were never great but in recent years they've become actively bad, burying the info you want under layers of menus and then making it worse by inserting slow loading videos on all over the place. They're all a bloated mess.

It took a while to find this gem but it was worth the effort. Scores are sorted by sport and by league making finding what you want usually a matter of 2 clicks. Because there's limited graphics everything loads fast making looking up data easy to do in seconds so you don't miss action on the screen.

SportsAlerts is clearly geared towards gamblers but it's not obnoxious about it like other apps of this type. There are ads but they are so unobtrusive that I barely notice them. If the ads bug you, you can pay a one time payment which is great in an era when everyone else is pushing subscriptions.

Every sports fans should use SportsAlerts. The others just don't compare.

2023-11-10

I just started using SportsAlerts and so far I like it. I was using yahoo sports and it was getting not so user friendly, too much navigation just to see yesterday's scores too many bells and whistles. Thank you Joe. After some changed you made its much better but the collage football team are a little difficult to find the team due to having to know conferences. Keep trying. Well after using SportsAlerts I will not use it due to a simply task today a very big sport event concerning a college football game for number one outcome. I wanted to see who is going to play I open up your app clicked on ncaa football and not one thing mentioned so that’s reason enough to find another app.

5 stars for 2 reasons...

2023-12-12

SportsAlerts gets 5 stars for 2 reasons...

1) This is the only sports app I've found that displays ALL of the games on it's Today/Notification Center widget. All the others just show your favorites or maybe a couple of random live games I don't care about. This one let's you change the league even right from the widget! Awesome. The addition of TV channel info and crucial live stats would be even better but would probably muddy it up.

2) This is also one of the only sports I've found that displays all of the games in the Apple Watch app. Again, most of the others just show your favorites, with the exception of the CBS sports app. But this one let's you go a step further and touch into a particular game to get some stats.

I rarely use the actual iPhone app for news, checking scores, etc. mostly because there are many other sports apps out there that are just more user friendly, polished, and pretty. However, it is worth noting that this is the only app I’ve found that actually shows brackets for playoffs.

I highly recommend SportsAlerts, even if you only use it for the widget & Apple Watch app.

Kudos to you, Sports Alert!

Spam ads say you have a virus

2024-01-12

For the past 2 months, when using SportsAlerts, I've been getting spam ads that say I have a virus on my phone. I took a screenshots of the spam ads and googled them. Sure enough, they were spam ads, and I don't have a virus.

Over the past 2 months, I've noticed new spam ads come with each update. There used to be no ads. Now there are ads. I understand maybe they need to make $. I have no problem with a little spam in a free app. Buy these shady spam ads saying you have a virus is bothersome. I know better, meaning I know I don't have a virus. But what about naive people, what happens with them?...they can be taken advantage of.

The thing is, I've been using SportsAlerts for over 2 years. I love it. Very simple, lightweight. But these new spam ads have me questioning the integrity of the company. For that, I give 2 stars.

Great app

2024-11-17

Love SportsAlerts wish it had some features added though so I can rate it 5 stars

- Alerts for every at bat result (not just hits)
- Alerts for every inning of your pitchers
- Check if you are getting a notification for a specific play and combine the info into notification. For example if you have notification for runs RBIs and hits on player A and B. And player A knocks player B in you will receive 3 notifications. One for player A hit one for player A RBI and one for player B scoring. Can you combine those 3 into one notification of “player A hit a single and player B scored”
- Alerts if your player is not in the starting lineup
- Alerts if your players game is postponed or delayed
- sum totals of your players stats on the players tab.
- customizable stats in the players tab page so

I’ve had SportsAlerts, o think about 5 years now, still always looking for a better but they have all come and gone, just two things that kinda bother. 1.) it be nice if they had Sporting New’s but even breaking it down to the player, News. 2.) When looking back in past weeks NCAA Football Top 25, if they showed the Ranks what it was in Past weeks compared to now but that really ain’t a biggy. I’m just OCD and it bother’s me. haha,,

A sports app well done, indeed.

2024-11-17

I LOVE your app!
I dig the ability to:
- switch from sport to sport to sport...from the same page!
- mute games/scores-immediately
-get ANY reminder INCLUDING when a game is “CLOSE IN SCORE”!! during last five mins or so, or when games begin, get qtr scores, any lead changes, etc
-player news, rooster, updates
Updates are IMMEDIATE. *I check while I’m watching* lol
-easy to use dashboard, very user friendly!!!!
- would AND have AND STILL DO recommended SportsAlert app to all my family, sport-nut friends and even ones who aren’t as into sports as I am ,but they maybe wanna learn a thing or two!?!
Or just to have ALL of this instant data at your fingertips! \m/ lol

I have been telling my friends for years, dude this is the only sports app you need.

Very well done, this app guys!!!!

Thank you!!!!

It's the go to app

2024-11-17

Two years and still #1. The best sports app out there. US and English Premier league soccer. Good stuff. Recommended.
Update after three months. Still believe this is the best app for iOS available. Even has English Premier league soccer. Great real-time notifications. You won't find one better for free. Update. They are going to add champions league soccer next year!
Now three years and still the best sports app available… Get it now

Great app! Helped make me money in Vegas

2024-11-17

I used SportsAlerts for the first time during a recent visit to Vegas, where I used it extensively to help me make my sports bets. Maybe I just got lucky, but this was the most profitable trip I've ever had, so I think at least part of the credit goes to SportsAlerts. It was super easy to use and allowed me to research my potential picks without much effort on my part. I highly recommend it.

Best So Far

2024-11-17

I've been looking for a good app to follow baseball after ESPN's disastrous update. This has filled the void and provided great extras. Like the score alerts and favourite team options. Plan to purchase the one time option to kill the ads. Rather new to SportsAlerts. Will update my review as I become more familiar with all the options. Just started NCAA football last weekend and was pleased with the rapid score updates.

Sports app

2024-11-17

This words that gives me all the information whether you have any questions on line moves, points in the game, rooster, schedule, and so much more to offer. It even gives you the opportunity to visualize possession of the ball, yard line and score. You may also have them send you alerts, score change, red zone etc., this is a must have app for sports.

Great Watch Implementation

2024-11-17

Keep up the great work and the way it shows on my Apple Watch!!

Update: Now after about ~6 months.... I would give it 6 or 7 stars if possible. I’m ALWAYS using SportsAlerts while on the road and at home. Being able to quickly lookup the game and what channel it’s on is invaluable. Glance at watch, open app and I’m updated on all today’s games.

Awesome!

2024-11-17

Best for quick look at schedules including times and network to view. Have shared this with numerous friends once they saw what SportsAlerts provides on any league, team, or player. Great visuals of the field. Lots of data! Play by play gets you right in the games of your choice.
Updates are generally fast but still could be quicker.
You will love SportsAlerts.

Your Sports app crashes frequently when loading. It’s an ongoing problem. I use a new iPad Air. In general it’s fine, but the crashing is an issue. I don’t have this problem with other other sports apps. Thanks. Clint Moran
