I am a regular movie-goer at Reel Cinemas, and wish that ReelCinemas was better optimized to take truly take advantage of the iPhone 5 (retina screen and size) and simplify the movie discovery and purchasing experience.

You could even incorporate passbook, if you want to make it even simpler. This would probably simplify my life as I purchase tickets and check movie times.

The easier it is to use ReelCinemas, the more money I will likely spend buying tickets and watching movies. Win-win :)

OTP for ENBD cards is broken for months now.
On HSBC cards it works sporadically with delays.
What good is a cinema app where you can’t book? Hence the 1 star

Still no apple wallet support for tickets.

It allows you to book a ticket but two annoying things: it always, ALWAYS ask you to update ReelCinemas when it already is. And more than 50% of the time I get stuck at the screen promoting the new venue. Only way to get through is close ReelCinemas , reopen it and cross my fingers.

I am a weekend cinema worrier, I toggle between Reel and Vox, but Reel app is very annoying and not working and here is why:

1- No IMdb rating info.
2- When you buy a ticket with an offer, such as Visa Checkout "buy one get one" , Reel will charge you for two tickets!! Two times happened to me, where I contacted visa checkout to return back my money.
3- when ever you select seats in Row A or B, ReelCinemas returns a message to not keep a single seat empty, while there are two seat space, whatever you do after this msg it will keep telling you the same.
4- Emaar U buy account is not working too, it keeps crashing ReelCinemas .

Simply buy the ticket in the classic way. Till they do something with ReelCinemas.

Not sure who decided to make the 5 min timer tick even after payment gateway is opened. AND TO DDUCT MONEY EVEN AFTER TIMER CANCEL YOUR TRANSACTION. So, in 5 mins you need to perform below actions:

1. Select Seats
2. Select person 1 starter, main course, drinks
3. Select person 2 starter, main course, drinks
4. Select person 3 starter, main course, drinks
5. Enter credit card information.
6. Wait for app to open payment gateway.
7. Select where you want to receive your OTP.
8. Wait till your OTP is arrived. Usually this take 2-3 mins.
9. Enter the OTP and wait for transaction to finish. This will take around 30 seconds.
10. Get confirmation if your 5 min window is still valid.

If you have completed step 9, your money will be deducted but tickets will not be booked.

Waste of time and money.

This is app takes your money and doesn't issue a ticket!

Sounds great on paper however it is plagued with a major payment bug! It happened to me on a number of occasions where my credit card would be charged but ReelCinemas wouldn't issue the ticket and crashes!!! I had to go to the theatre and explain to the manager and show my credit card SMS in order to be issued a ticket! It's now almost a regular occurrence (happened minutes before writing this review)...

I’ve been using my U by Emaar card with benefits and points for a couple years now and the majority of the time I have some sort of issue with ReelCinemas or the machines at the cinema where I can’t use my points or can’t use my offers! With ReelCinemas I end up sacrificing using my points to pay just so I can use the 2 for 1 offer. Very frustrating how the company makes it hard to use the benefits they offer!

Tried to use ReelCinemas. It allowed me to purchase tickets but would not add the tickets to my passbook. App also locks up "loading" and does nothing...restarted app and it goes back to loading circle again and again. Might as well have used the mobile app instead.

ReelCinemas is generally functional. But on an iPhone 6 the Carrousel that shows the available movies is hard to control and you don't get a good understanding of all the movies available. It's also hard to find a particular movie if it's not in the front.

They seem to have some premium services like concierge and Platinum Suites but the explanations are missing or impossible to read.

Next version should be better designed from the users pov.

The most recent update to ReelCinemas has made it less frustrating to use and more reliable. It is now optimized for the iPhone 6, most features seem to work as expected. The payment process could be more friendly (still loads a web page from within ReelCinemas ), but it's not the end of the world. I look forward to future updates allowing me to save credit card details.

Old app worked like dream, updated to new version and now it does not load. Click on ReelCinemas opens and returns to app screen. Brin back the old version

Overall its a great app that has improved a lot from last year. Still payment and confirmation is inconvenient and tickets do not transfer to Apple Wallet most of the time. Thanks.

ReelCinemas helped me a lot by skipping the long queue lines,but it needs to be redesigned to be much easier and smooth,also adding Credit card info saving will help a lot.

Needs an update for people who have unlimited movie membership card

Great app; nothing to figure out with a clear, step-by-step process. Even easier than the website.

Used it twice in the first few days on downloading and saw two great movies. Love ReelCinemas!
