Last update deleted my history

2022-05-27

Good app but the latest update deleted all my history. Not cool. Why take a monthly assesment if its not going to track my ups/downs? Figure it out or I can't recommend anymore. ***Update - the VA developed PTSDCoach . No wonder its jacked. Cheers to the VA for being incompetent in every aspect of vet support.

***Edit*** Another update and history was deleted again. Haha

Disappointed

2022-06-28

I thought this might help my symptoms but a) it’s geared more toward military than just anyone with ptsd and b) it’s so elementary..some of the tools are useful, like the mindfulness exercises but the selection of tools is limited and I just find myself needing more.
I think the concept of this is great but it needs more sophistication or maybe have a purchased version that has more tools, more resources and more exercises.

Helpful, needs one important fix

2022-07-29

I have found PTSDCoach to be very useful in managing my day. The breathing and mindfulness exercises have a great pace that help me recenter.

One rather significant thing that prevents me from getting any benefit from some of the exercises is hearing the side-work the narrator is doing in the background. I hear her clicking on things or typing, and all I can think is that she is so over worked that she has to multitask while she is making these recordings, and it stresses me out. I want to use more of these tools, but once I hear those sounds in the background that exercise is useless for me.

Please update PTSDCoach with the same exercises, and let the narrator just record the exercise without the distraction. Thanks.

I just got a new therapist. First of all, I automatically was comfortable with that. So this will be one of many tools utilized because to get me to do the work of having Integrity.

My feelings on the Coach

2022-10-01

I’m gonna make this short. I’m just getting into PTSDCoach and addressing my issues I mean truly addressing the things that drag me through life is super new to me. And I still don’t know what to expect or what I’m looking for actually. However exploring the journey with the Coach assisting has helped lower my distress level with the different types of exercises. Along with my actual therapist and treatment I believe I’m gonna like it.

I’m glad for this app, thanks

I think I’ll probably use PTSDCoach about twice a month and d it helps a little bit but I think the main thing is its up to the individual use the tools

PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, has many distressing symptoms that a person may experience on a daily basis. PTSDCoach is a smart way to manage anxious symptoms by pairing them with a relaxation technique such as soothing sounds, music, deep breathing, or pleasant images. This technique of counter-conditioning or graduated exposure was used by Joseph Wolpe- he believed anxious behavior would not happen when paired with incompatible relaxation behavior. He knew it would not be possible to feel anxious and relaxed at the same time. I personally used PTSDCoach to manage my daily distress with PTSD symptoms, and found myself much more happy and relaxed after only a few weeks of use!

Helped

PTSDCoach helped me more then one when my ptsd hit. Thank you for making it.

Secure life.

It is very helpful in the balance of my life. Between this and mindfulness I am a better person. My issues are manageable and I am happy the the Doctors and psychiatrist recommended it. 😊

Phenomenal free tool

2023-05-08

Of all of the apps I have seen and attempted to use this has been the best BY FAR! For free it offers awesome mindfulness and breathing exercises. Alternates between soothing pictures, sounds, ideas based on what’s tearing you apart at the moment. Every single day of my existence is a struggle to make it through. I was reaching a point in my day where there was more time in a panic And terror and rottenness then not. This application has significantly helped me in the heat of these moments. It has helped my ability to deal with the panic attacks and steer me from feeling completely lost to there is a light in the far off distance. If you don’t know what to do, You don’t have anywhere to go, try PTSDCoach. It’s seriously helping me.

So helpful

2023-06-08

I’ve used PTSDCoach monthly since I started therapy. Being able to track my symptoms and talk about them with my therapist has helped me see progress when I didn’t think there was any.

100% recommend

2023-07-10

Take you for being free. I have no money as I cannot work and health care apps are typically expensive for me. I just needed a very simple app that could calm me down. It’s exactly that.

Highly recommend to change your life

2023-08-10

This is the best all in one app for myself as a provider to both use personally as well as in sessions as well as to provide exercises/tools/homework/etc.

If I could give 10 out of 5 stars I would

2023-09-11

Honestly the best app. I am so thankful that PTSDCoach is able to help keep me grounded and okay on days I don’t have therapy, or on nights that are hard, or when I feel alone or lots of shame. PTSDCoach has helped me tremendously.

App is awesome

2023-10-13

The question was do I enjoy using PTSDCoach? My answer is no I don’t enjoy using it, I wish I didn’t have ptsd. But I do. As far as PTSDCoach goes, I use it almost everyday. Especially during my dark times. So app is awesome that it does help some of the time, just wish I didn’t have to use it.

Amazed

2023-11-13

I have non-combat complex PTSD and this is the best app I have tried. I have used other apps for general anxiety, mindfulness, meditation, etc, and while they helped some it wasn’t enough for me to keep using them. This more specialized approach has been very effective for me. It can be hard to think strait when I am triggered and PTSDCoach walks me through it. It uses all sorts of tools and you can save your favorites. It has been a godsend for me between therapy sessions. I am so thankful I have it.

Great app! Really helps me.

2023-12-15

I’ve tried a lot of apps to get help with my complex PTSD. While several of them are useful at different times and in different ways (such as EMDR), PTSDCoach put so many useful and calming tools in the palm of my hand wherever I am. It’s also not as “out there” or “hippie” (for lack of a better term - no offense intended) as some of the other resources, so I feel pretty good about it. Give it an honest shot. It may really help you recover when things start to get sideways. It does me. Good luck.

Has helped me tons!

I am a self-diagnosed PTSD sufferer. I’m not a veteran, just a normal teenager who has gone through a lot of trauma that no one should. I looked for apps that would work and I found this one–even though it’s meant for veterans, it’s for PTSD, so it helps me a lot.

I take the monthly check ups to see if I’ve worsened and improved, and to see that test prove in a way what I’m experiencing helps me psychologically, I would say. Gives me validation of sorts.
The tools provided help calm me down and encourage me to keep living and to realize that though my PTSD might never truly stop, it will get better over time. PTSDCoach has helped me to get better. It also has some tools to get connected with a support group and such, but I’ve never used those because of my isolation (I live in an isolating household).

I strongly recommend installing PTSDCoach and sharing with friends. I am praying for you all.

Wonderful, helpful, professional

2024-11-17

During a panic attack, I have never and will never reach for my phone. Nothing can replace the love and care I need during an episode.
That being said, PTSDCoach is extremely good at helping me calm down after panicking. I used to have this basic routine (after an episode) which was just eating, drinking, and sleeping, but that can only go so far. With PTSDCoach, I can pick among the various tools it has to help me (recordings, quotes, etc.) and there is absolutely no pressure to enjoy it. If I don’t like it, I can skip it and/or give it a 👎 and I’ll never have to see it again.
Very wonderful, very helpful, very professional.
There are absolutely no ads, purchases, or monthly payment.
