Bug Fixes needed

It’s a great idea, the train schedules are off, several times I’ve been sent to train that was 15-20mins delayed and there was no update! In some cases you can take the next train if going to the city or Brooklyn but if you’re at a local station you might be screwed! The news and notifications pop up freezes on the phone and I can’t get to the schedule without closing and opening onTimeLIRR again. onTimeLIRR worked more effectively when I started using it several years ago so once those fixes are made and I see improvements, I’ll be sure to improve my rating!

Better features than MTA Train time

I love that onTimeLIRR shows you all the train times for the day instead of them disappearing. You can also check into a train and it shows you the stops in a cleaner way. The discover feature was also quite enjoyable to keep me entertained on the longer rides.

Fraudulent alert

onTimeLIRR has subscription service where he charges four dollars a year. It requires you to register at their website and what does not have a way to capture the purchase that I made. And when you try to restore the purchase and if you cannot see my initial purchase it fails to honor my purchase. The developer of onTimeLIRR will not refund you the money. Apple will not refund you the money after 60 days. So you cannot get the money nor the services that you pay for. I hate getting ripped of. I hope Apple takes some action!

The new update is AWFUL

Glitching, lagging, choppy. Can’t scroll smoothly, none of my favorite pairs are saved and I keep on having to manually put in my destination. Visually it’s also pretty ugly and way less clear than the lighter, simple color palette and design of the old version that had better spacing. Visually it’s just too busy and confusing. Just an all around awful update. I wish it would change back.

This new version stalls when off-line

I work for LIRR and I used onTimeLIRR since it’s inception m because it was easy to use…especially when off-line or in airplane mode.

This new version seems to require an internet connection. When offline or in airplane mode, onTimeLIRR doesn’t function as the screen is greyed out when starting up with a ‘loading’ animation that doesn’t load the schedules.

I can’t use onTimeLIRR as I did previously with its previous off-line functionality.

I get that the developer needs to generate revenue. I’m usually connected to Wi-Fi but when I’m traveling and do not have an internet connection (which is often enough), onTimeLIRR is unusable.

Please fix this and I’ll change the rating as this is a great app before the new version.

New Feature - Sudden, Loud, Obnoxious Full Screen Ads.

2nd New Feature - MobileWare insists you provide your real-time location, or else they are going to cover a third of your screen, including relevant information, with a bright red drop-down banner that you can’t close (until you let them and third-party advertisers track you).

I’d gladly pay for a one-time purchase fee or low annual subscription, but I don’t trust developers that want to track you and employ these methods.

This is otherwise a very good app, and some of their other apps I’d also consider. I’d be especially skeptical when those apps are of a financial nature.

So, instead of subscribing, I’ll probably be deleting onTimeLIRR sooner rather than later. Too bad. MobleWare was an excellent example of a well designed app in versions past.

Change OnTime to GoodLuck LIRR

Useful APP. Information is setup in an easy to use format. However, connecting TRACK information is a bit sketchy. App should be named Good Luck LiRR. Good luck catching your connecting train given the constant delays, broke down M3 trains, and track changes. Fortunately, the tech developers do their jobs effectively.

I used to love this App

I used to love onTimeLIRR until I saw that it was draining my battery. I always go to bed with 100% battery, and when I wake up, at least 8 hours later, it’s still at 100%, until about a week ago, when it was under 90%. I looked at my battery info on the phone, and I saw that onTimeLIRR was using over 40% of my battery, even though I haven’t opened it in over a week!! I guess I’ll just be looking at the webpage for the LIRR schedules from now on. UGH!!

Leaves much to be desired

The good - Quick access to schedules
The bad - The schedules are meaningless because they do not reflect train delays or cancellations. It’s 6:47 AM and we’re on the 6:08 AM train from Ronkonkoma to Penn. The line is shut down and we are still sitting in Ronkonkoma. onTime shows the train and those after it having already left the station with our next stop Jamaica. Like I said, the schedule does not reflect real-time status.

Please fix bugs

I use onTimeLIRR everyday for commuting. It has been good for a long time but recently now it doesn’t show my station -> penn as the default (set as favorite pair too). onTimeLIRR also showed me train times that didn’t make sense and including wrong times (12 am trains when looking at 8 AM).

Please fix and I will add stars if it works.

Thanks

Color / Visual cue needed to indicate travel direction.

Pretty good app, and game changer for looking up the train schedule.

On easy suggestion. The background color should change depending on wether you are traveling east or west in the LIRR. Several times, when in a rush, I end up looking at the wrong direction and miss my train. But a simple visual cue would eliminate this.

Need to bring back track prediction

I generally love onTimeLIRR. It’s been pretty accurate for me, but you need to bring back the track prediction. It was so helpful and avoids people pushing when the track is officially announced!

Latest update

A few glitches after the latest update have been fixed . Great app for keeping track of LIRR schedules. I highly recommend it!!

Total Failure

Very poor. Major bug. Have re-installed multiple times and app reverts to a schedule that has absolutely nothing to do with our train lines. Previous version was fine. Go back and fix it so it works like it did in the past. Diminishes the LIRR’s already dubious reputation. If you can’t get the small stuff right, why should you be trusted on major projects like the main line. 1 Star rating is generous.

WHY ONLY MINUTES?

In the latest update, the countdown timer is just in minutes instead of hours:minutes:seconds. Why would you do this? How is this at all more intuitive or useful? There isn’t even an option in settings to change it. Now after years of using onTimeLIRR, I’m going to have to use a different app.

Pretty accurate with times and tracks

Especially useful when at Penn Station (construction madness). A cool feature to have would be alerts for preferred train times or lines.

Great app for following train

Just started using onTimeLIRR and it has been a lifesaver. So far it has been accurate in letting me know if trains are running on time or are delayed.

By

Great app

onTimeLIRR uses location in a great way. It shows what’s station you’re closest to sometimes and is extremely convenient.

By

Great app

The options for so many transit systems is great... plus onTimeLIRR itself functions much better and quicker than the "official" individual system apps I've tried.

Pretty Dependable

I am now retired and rarely use except for concerts, meeting old colleagues for dinner in Times Square etc. onTimeLIRR helps me greatly and makes my trips easy. Thank you LIRR

Ads and has been unreliable lately

The ads stops it from optimal usage especially in the middle of looking for a schedule. Should either be before the time schedule loads or none at all...

And also becomes very unreliable especially when there are delays, gives the wrong information especially when a train gets cancelled or it says cancelled and the train schedule isn’t.
