ABCSPELLINGMAGIC is quite good for teaching children how to read better. My niece loves to use it. And it helps her with how she says the words. I would recommend it to all parents who want to better their young's reading/spelling skills.
Very good visual and voice clarity. As an early childhood educator, I would like to see the consonants detailed in blue and the vowels detailed in red. The reason is this...all of the letter tiles that are used in the classroom are colored coated as listed above. We teach our children that particular color to differentiate between consonants and vowels. It would nice to see the consistency...less confusing for 4 and 5 year olds.
This is an excellent app for teaching spelling. I've been looking for something like this. There's just one little improvement that needs to be made - the sound is far too quiet. We can't hear any of the sounds or words. With this fix it would be perfect!
This is a great App. The best I have seen and tried so far regarding Spelling. I am going to use it with my students and hope they love it as much as I do. I agree with the reviews about using red and blue colors to differentiate vowels and consonants and to improve the sound quality. Over all GREAT APP TRY IT !
Great to use with kindergarten friends but wish the vowels were in red and consonants in blue. Everything we buy for teaching supplies, always has vowels in red. So to have the vowels in blue kind of confuses them at first.
I like nearly everything about ABCSPELLINGMAGIC - the option to turn on/off the card and blank sounds is great. The letter sounds all sound great, for example /b/ for b instead of /buh/ like you may hear on many other apps.
I agree with the previous commenter that the vowels should be in red and the consonants in blue. It's the standard that I'm used to seeing with print materials. Finally, I would promote this more broadly as a learn-to-read app rather than just spelling. This activity is highly receptive - you see the picture, see the letters, hear the sounds.

It is like a talking alphabet that says the sounds of the letters instead of the names of the letters. Each letter says its sound when tapped. Each picture can be tapped to hear what it is, too. Fortunately, ABCSPELLINGMAGIC uses lowercase letters which are 20 times more common than uppercase letters in written print. ABCSPELLINGMAGIC is a very helpful and supportive tool for emerging readers. It can help your child become a better reader and a better speller.

This is an extremely good app for a free kids app. I really like how the letters are sounded out. This is perfect for my preschool age daughter. I agree with the earlier reviewer that the pictures can be misleading but if you click on them the correct word will be pronounced for you.
These spelling and reading apps are fantastic. They have taught my son so much, and I can't wait to use them with our second son in a few years. That being said I don't understand why the clipart was exchanged for photos. We definitely prefer the clipart, as it matched the aesthetic "feel" of ABCSPELLINGMAGIC more.
My 4 year old really likes ABCSPELLINGMAGIC. It's not just flash cards like most. It's interactive! He loves how it says the word as many times as he wants to help him figure out the spelling. He feels so smart when he spells a word right. I like how it gives him the letter sounds for each letter space but it's an option that can be turned off as he gets older. I can't wait for him to try picking letters out of the full alphabet rather than moving the tiles around! I will be checking out this company's other apps.
This is a great introduction for building and spelling short vowel 3-letter words. There are 2 types of games and a category for each vowel. Great for helping children with beginning phonics.
ABCSPELLINGMAGIC focuses on spelling and building 3-letter CVC words. In actuality word building increases reading skills. ABCSPELLINGMAGIC has a couple of choices where you can choose to build the word with either just the letters that are part of that word or from the entire alphabet.
