I have been using iBreviaryTSPlus for years and there have been many updates that improved iBreviaryTSPlus a lot over time… (such as swipe gestures, true black dark mode, fluid text scrolling etc.) but the latest update is a real big step backwards… it’s almost unusable on iPhone now. All the features I just listed are now removed along with no home button (meaning if your in a specific hour of the breviary, you now have to click you way back to the menu by hitting back multiple times) and no was to exit a particular hour without exiting full screen mode then clicking back 3 or 4 times). I hope they fix this soon!

7.0 is not as good. [First off, I’m a frequent user of iBreviaryTSPlus when traveling or when my physical breviary is not at hand and thus I am grateful for iBreviaryTSPlus. Thank you.] Now to practicals, The auto scroll is not smooth when you scroll back. The layout of menus makes it harder to get back to the Home Screen menu. Dark mode isn’t optimized well enough. The jump ahead options are barely readable in the color chosen. And there’s no global dark mode, just the readings so your eyes are blinded by the white home screen before you go to the readings in dark mode of you are praying in the dark or only by candle light at night or early in the morning.

Overall, the last version was just fine (bedsides all the pop up ads to give). If 7.1 fixes these, then ok. But right now, 7.0, don’t upgrade.

The upgrade was not an improvement in any way from the previous version. It seems more difficult now to navigate iBreviaryTSPlus and there is still not a way to mark which hours you have already prayed.

All of my notes in the “My Spiritual Book” section were deleted when I upgraded. I only saw the notification about downloading all your notes after I upgraded. The upgrade should not have happened before that error was resolved.

My app keeps displaying a blank white page if i try and launch without a good internet connection . Even other friends with iphones dont seem to have this problem but when i do it doesnt clear up with a better connection- i keep having to delete and download again. Sometimes i have the wrong readings and sometimes they have different readings but im the only one that seems to have this problem with a blank white page after a bad connection attempt to launch iBreviaryTSPlus

The previous app was far better than this new app. The liturgy of the hours takes a very long time to load.

When auto scroll is enabled, the page stutters when you try to manually move it. That never happened with the previous app.

Also, after Night Prayer, I return to the “Pray” page. On the following day, it freezes when I try to go back to the home page. This happens on my iPhone and iPad.

I love thus app especially when traveling. I always have my breviary with me and an emergency ritual as well. And I appreciate having texts available in different languages, especially Latin and Italian. However, I have a problem with the latest update. I will download a few days in advance and they then disappear, only to need downloading again. And the notice “Loading” keeps popping up. If I could, I’d go back to the previous version. That worked quite smoothly.

I’ve been using iBreviaryTSPlus for 4 years and it was my favorite Catholic app. It was clean and super easy to navigate. Now with this new update iBreviaryTSPlus is super slow in response, my favorite font is gone and it’s so many extra steps to get to certain prayers. Before if I wanted to read the angelus it instantly came up now it’s loading to find it. It quite literally will take 10 sec for iBreviaryTSPlus to recognize I typed “Ang” . I love y’all so much because you’ve helped me improve my prayer life. But now I feel like my app is running on dial up. Hopefully y’all can fix it

I have used iBreviaryTSPlus for many years. I never had a problem. Then came the update. Now because of the slow loading of the Liturgy of the Hours it is not as prayerful and makes it difficult to pray with others. Any time you return to the Home Screen there is a delay on returning to the Liturgy of the Hours. It’s as if the whole program is reloading even though it has already been downloaded. I thought this might be corrected by now but since it hasn’t I felt compelled to write this review. Please fix iBreviaryTSPlus and make it prayerful again.

I am a Catholic missionary and work in Mexico. I love iBreviaryTSPlus for personal prayer but I am always disappointed with the Spanish version of iBreviaryTSPlus . It is Spain Spanish , which is great for Spain but in Latin America, they don’t use the Vosotros tense so when I try to read something to someone when I don’t have my Spanish bible on me, people struggle to understand because the tense is so different. Can you please add a Latin America Spanish version??

This is still a good app. I still find the texts accurate for both the breviary as well as mass. I have no problems with downloading rapidly. What has gone downhill is that it no longer offers the proper texts at all for any of the orders listed in iBreviaryTSPlus description. You used to be able to select an order & see all the dates with proper texts. The various propers slowly disappeared one by one. I would like to see the propers back, but overall still a solid app. I am concerned it will stop working at some point because it was last updated 2 years ago to work with iOS 10, which is pretty outdated.

I’ve used iBreviaryTSPlus for years and love it. The Divine Office and readings for Mass are great. I’m disappointed with the new update though—it does not appear or feel as prayerful as it used to. I find it distracting to have to time at the top of the screen even in full-screen mode. I appreciate all the work that goes into iBreviaryTSPlus and bringing these prayers to us, and I hope the developer goes back and fixes the update based on feedback. God bless.

As I pray the breviary (the 4-volume set) daily, I have a lot memorized. So, when I pray iBreviary on my iPad, I notice the errors.
First, I want to say that iBreviaryTSPlus is really quite good, and if you’re in a sudden need to pray the Hours, but you don’t have the printed books handy, this one fills in very, very well. I really do like it.
That being said, there are the occasional mistakes, but that comes with human error. No one is perfect.
But, my biggest issue with iBreviary is the “Office of the Dead.”
I pray the morning and evening prayer every single day for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. And I have noticed a problem that keeps jumping out at me. So, I must let someone know, somehow.
The “Eastertide” notations in parenthesis are wrong. Not just a little wrong, but very wrong. It would take a lot to explain everything, but simply adding the, “Alleluia,” to the end of antiphons in this case, just doesn’t work.
I’m hoping the developers will read this review and make the corrections.

I’ve been using iBreviaryTSPlus for years, primarily on an old iPad 2 and sometimes on an iPhone. I got a new iPad Pro with iOS 11 and the display in portrait mode does not work. The text is pushed to the left using about a third of the screen. I as hoping today’s update would fix this but it has not.

In landscape mode, the text options panel disappears completely. The links started working in the last release but are not working in this one. The links in book mode do not work.

I tried to use the email link for support but iBreviaryTSPlus crashed. Please fix this wonderful app. Most of the clergy in my diocese use it.

I am a college seminarian, and part of our formation is praying the Liturgy of the Hours. iBreviaryTSPlus makes it so much easier to do so when I’m on the go. I also have easy access to the proper prayers for the day, and the entire text of the Mass. As if all this wasn’t enough, iBreviaryTSPlus includes various rites for priests to use and prayers for everyone to say, regardless of their state in life. There is only one issue that I noticed. I am in formation for the Franciscans, who have their own breviary with special prayers for feasts like the Feast of St. Francis. The Franciscan Hours is not an option on iBreviaryTSPlus, and is something I would love to see added in a future update.

iBreviaryTSPlus really is a blessing and really helps me participate in the mass in a much better way. Especially for someone like me who gets distracted so easily, the ability to follow along the text is so helpful. Thanks for all the efforts to continuously improve this.

I also have a question, I’m not able to use the new feature of text to speech on my app. The text scrolls but doesn’t read out loud. Can you help me get that feature working.

Can you bring the slide to the side back? It was so much easier to access!
Also, can you bring the old “night” design back—the new one is super hard to read. Y’all have the best app but man I miss the old version. 😢 I don’t want to rate you badly so I’ll still giving you 5 stars cause iBreviaryTSPlus has literally changed my prayer life.

What a friend we have in Jesus, thank you for providing these prayers to pray and get to know Him better. He has been showing himself to me through prayer, and these prayers really help when I don’t know what to say. Being not the best impromptu communicator, I am filled with gratitude in my heart for the service you’ve provided here. God truly heals all diseases and all sorrows. Loving Him is the perfection of our faith and these prayers really communicate who he is, and iBreviaryTSPlus is faithful to the real breviary so I believe. I like the old script style ... can we have more of that in future updates? Also is there a way to look up readings and psalmodies in any day of the year and not just from yesterday through the next ten?

If you’re a man, you gotta pray this. You’ll see. Anyway, thank you again and may God bless you and all who pray to Him in a sincere heart.

The text/translations in Laudate and Universalis are different from those in the Christian Prayer book. IBreviary matches it exactly. If you pray the Office with others or just want to be praying the same things as the book you should use iBreviary.
Also some problems with ios11 which I hope they’ll fix soon but I won’t give it fewer stars because of that at this time.

Honestly, I don’t even care if iBreviaryTSPlus has a few bugs, it gets 5 stars for the Saint of a guy who put it together so you have access to so much stuff in the Catholic life (Liturgy of the Hours AND Mass readings for the day) for free. A must have for any Catholic who doesn’t want to carry their breviary with them somewhere or if you wanted to meditate on the Mass readings for the day, or follow along during a daily Mass in a church that has no missals.

iBreviaryTSPlus works fine and is very useful. But, especially recently, it has been constantly using pop ups to push us to donate to various causes. If it were just once a week it would be tolerable. But now it’s pretty much every time I use iBreviaryTSPlus . We have advertising shoved down our throats all day everyday. It’s beyond annoying to have it pushed on me even in my prayer life. I’ve donated to iBreviary, but still I get popups. No thanks. Deleting it today and will use “Universalis” from now on.

Will lose download if connectivity is lost wasting data. Will get a red box asking to go back to home screen. Some Christmas hymns have horizontal inclusive language in English. Luminous mysteries meditations need links. Text reader can not skip over optional text not used. Scroll feature nice. Still worth having but I have a backup.

iBreviaryTSPlus is really handy to have for all the daily readings and prayers. However, my only gripe is that there isn’t a way to see all the readings, creeds, and rites for the whole mass celebration. You have to go back and forth from many different tabs. Otherwise this is a very nice app.

I love iBreviaryTSPlus but recently its been giving me some trouble.
After downloading the breviary for a day/week, it just disappears. I have removed iBreviaryTSPlus and tried again and again and can’t seem to save the downloads to be available when I don’t have wifi. Can anyone give me a tip?

Recent updates seemed to have a problem when downloading the prayers for the week. The download seems to work but when I go into iBreviaryTSPlus later, the downloads are not there, have to download the week again, which disappears again. Also, the “home” button in the left hand pane during the breviary reading does not work.

I really like having these prayers available to me on my phone. It makes it very handy to read them when I am in church.

It would be so great if when listening to the prayers the voice was a person and not a computer. She is very hard to understand and takes away the beauty of the prayer.

iBreviaryTSPlus is a great addition to my Catholic faith life, and has really blessed me. Thanks!

iBreviaryTSPlus is so handy to have compared to carrying around the physical books.

Fortunately, I have never had any crash issues (I have the IPhone SE). The only minor problem I have had is that I will notice typos in the text every once in a while. Besides that, everything works well. Thank God!

Love iBreviaryTSPlus and have used it to death through several iPhones.

I just upgraded to an iPhone 8 and picked up an iPad Pro at the same time. On the iPhone 8 running iOS 11, I had problems getting iBreviary to open. It kept closing on me. I deleted iBreviaryTSPlus from the device and just downloaded it off the cloud and it is working great after it went through an installation set up. When I first set up this iPhone, restoring my apps from iCloud, it must not have installed it properly, or I may have interrupted the completion of the install. If you have problems as I did - remove and re-add it, but when entering iBreviaryTSPlus the first time, leave it alone so it can run through final installation - about 3 minutes for me. The process was the same on iPad.

I love iBreviaryTSPlus but it is no longer opening in iOS11. I am completely unable to open iBreviaryTSPlus , it crashes immediately. I tried to leave feedback through iBreviaryTSPlus support link but was unable to do so. Please fix this wonderful app.
