Best of breed

Ignore the low star ratings if you recognize the actual music this mag covers, because it's the best of its kind, for those of us that appreciate the genres they highlight.

A must have...

Sure the resolution needs to be bumped up a bit. I am sure they will get around to this. It's nice that they have their own stand alone app for subscribers. Oh... And the searchable back issues... That's just amazing.

Long time subscriber - disappointed by app

I love the content of The Wire. In fact it's the only mag I subscribe too. I was excited at the prospect of having downloadable versions of the entire back catalogue. Unfortunately, TheWire is so crippled and slow that it makes a delightful reading experience of the print edition into a real pain. Please Wire - have someone write you a proper app!

Complete!

Now my iPad is complete. I can't believe I'm reading the best music magazine here! Keep the issues coming!
Cheers!

I Used to be a Paper Subscriber

I would like to subscribe to TheWire, but there is no "example" content by which I may evaluate whether the 40 buck subscription is worth it. I know the paper version is totally worth it. The Wire is the kind of magazine you read cover to cover. Give us a small, tiny example of what were paying for. Thanks.

The legendary magazine

More than a magazine, THE WIRE is an obligated reference for those who know (and don't know) about futuristic music. For me this is more than a simple magazine.

Extraordinary content compromised by a terrible app

The superb information, reviews, stories, and interviews provided by The Wire suffer to the point of being unusable in this clumsy app. Impossibly slow load times and raster text (RASTER TEXT!) fail to keep pace with even sub-par contemporary electronic publications. This product makes a strong case for the continuation of the print medium.

Really excellent

This is a great app. The fonts are very clear to me. Nicely done!

Almost Awesome

There are so many things done right with TheWire, but please increase the legibility of text.

Great content, poor app

The paper edition is beautiful. The content is worth the price, but TheWire is wretched.

It feels like reading a series of JPEGs. Text does not reflow if you want the font larger: you simply have to zoom in, like reading a newspaper with a magnifying glass. Links and the table of contents are similarly tacked on. Obvious enhancements like sound clips are not made.

I hope they re- approach TheWire in the near future.

Stick to paper for now.

Cutting-edge content, antiquated format

Great content but annoying to use due to snail-paced load times and clumsy navigation. The publisher should look at a really well-done example (New Yorker for one) to learn how to do this properly.

please fix

when you zoom in to read the text its blurry! please update TheWire to be more like the new yorker and i will subscribe

Page swiping in landscape not working

Please fix page swiping when reading in landscape mode on iOS 8 iPad.

By

Please look at how the New Yorker does their app!

And follow suit! This magazine is too good to have such a lousy reading experience on TheWire . Please fix ASAP!

By

Holding off

I'll lunge at this when the text is legible. As is: I'd rather stare at the sun.

Exact Editions apps stink

Why do so many good magazines use these guys? It's better to not have an app at all than to foist something like this on the world. Please, Wire, release a proper app.
