Get WIRED Reviews

For a publication about technology, leaves something to be desired, beyond simply having good content. Tapping on links punches you out to the browser (seriously, people??), it is not easy to scan available content at a glance without mindless scrolling (no sort options, no top stories, or highlighted stories... a big feature story is presented in the same cookie cutter feed as any other story, which makes me less likely to find and read it), and the "experimental" tab feels very much like a failed experiment, because I keep tapping on the video's play button and nothing happens, so I can't even get to watch the Wired editor explain to me what the tab was supposed to be about. I hope GetWIRED improves for a better experience.

So happy to see WIRED’s content in mobile app form (as opposed to web or print only)! Content is great as always and the reading experience is straightforward and enjoyable. I am also super interested to see what type of experiments come out first.

. . . to see how well Wired’s writers do their jobs, and how their IT department lets them down. “Watch a video with our Editor-in-chief!” How? there’s no link. “Read our library of great stories past!” How? there’s no search function! This lamer is owned by Condé Nast, right? Who also own The New Yorker Today, the best-integrated print/online operation on earth! What is UP with this app??

As others have said, it’s clunky and limited in customization. But the clincher for me was that you can’t search for articles — there is a search, but it will bring up zero results, not even the articles featured in GetWIRED .

Just happened upon this new app which is worlds improved from their legacy app! Organize well, wicked fast and great features! Thanks Wired!

It doesn’t make a lot of sense that I have to leave GetWIRED and access my web browser in order to read an article. Of, when that happens, I have to login again.

So why can’t the view be rotated on iPad or even iPhone from portrait to landscape? When using a 13” iPad Pro it would be logical to have landscape mode since treated as a laptop screen more than a kindle / nook reader.

Finally the excellent journalism of Wired available on a mobile-first app. Needs font sizing opinions (and black-screen option?) for a full 5 stars.

The UI is great but why is there no search capability? If I see a nod to a Wired article elsewhere, I’d like to be able find it on GetWIRED , even if it’s not a featured story.

Recently subscribed after picking up phy copies locally. This is best way to consume WIRED!

However it lacks Dark Mode. Flagship iPhones are packed with OLED screen now so an OLED Mode would be awesome (for the eye).

Installed on iPad, the page is smaller than this review window. Even after hitting the zoom button, it doesn’t fill the screen

GetWIRED is a brain wash for Amazons market place. First thing in the morning there’s at least five articles about Amazons products, and you can’t turn off Gear from the feed. This is just aggressive sales strategies since we are already paying to read Wired’s content.
