680 The Fan Reviews

I’m Georgia raised and a fan of all Georgia sports teams. I no longer live in Georgia, so I’ve used 680TheFan for two years to stay abreast of dialogue. Unfortunately, 680TheFan continues to disappoint.

When you first log into 680TheFan and press the play button, 680TheFan kicks me to 680TheFan Store aka “Spam”. While listening to 680TheFan , it will occasionally kick me to 680TheFan Store and then the stream is interrupted.

I am hoping that updates are on the horizon to improve the consistency of 680TheFan . I enjoy listening to all of the shows.

I have been a listener for well over 20 years and have become a little more dependent on 680TheFan since I am on the road quite often, so when my vehicle came equipped with the ability to use Apple CarPlay I was ecstatic. However, when I went to set up the system tray (screen you see in your vehicle) to show the apps I want to be able to choose to listen, 680 The Fan app was not there. I saw the 95.5 WSB app and the 104-5 The Zone app from Nashville (Titan fan) but no 680 The Fan app. I have to plug the phone into the vehicle, and start 680TheFan manually from my phone in order to listen to you guys. Why would other radio station apps be that way and not yours? I am simply requesting the web gurus/tech geniuses there make it possible for me to add the 680 The Fan app to my CarPlay system tray. Thank you guys so much for everything! I so enjoy listening to 680 The Fan!

First off, 680 is awesome, no issues with them, this is with 680TheFan and developer themselves. 680TheFan has completely turned to crap in regards to streaming the past few months. What started as infrequent cutting out has become all too frequent and frustrating. No matter if I’m on wifi or cell, it’ll just cut out and then 30 second ad.

It almost seems like there is a random counter that’ll cut the stream and reconnect and behold, another 30 second ad. It’s infuriating at times. I hope 680 chooses to use another streaming provider soon. I don’t mind listening to an ad before a stream but while in the middle of the hosts talking, it cuts out for absolutely no reason (no service/wifi disconnect), then comes back and you are forced to listen an ad again before the stream continues is ridiculous considering the same exact app months ago had zero issues whatsoever

Living on the West Coast, I rely on 680TheFan to stay close to my all my favorite teams back in Atlanta.

Because of the time difference, I usually miss this first few hours of each day’s programming, so I really love the new app’s capability to catch up on whole shows.

As other reviews have pointed out, it does still tend to shut down too often.

But THE most annoying thing is that, for some unexplainable reason on 680TheFan only (don’t even think this happens on the online live stream), the first NINE MINUTES of each hour are endless commercials - especially during the morning shows. After those NINE MINUTES of commercials, you’re all of a sudden thrown back into programming “already in progress” - having missed almost all the first block.
You’ll then get 3-4 minutes of programming before going to their standard SEVEN MINUTE break.

So essentially, there’s no reason to use 680TheFan for the first 22-23 minutes of each hour unless you love listening to commercials.

It’s an egregious lack of respect for listeners’ time, especially when there are so many other programming options - including other Atlanta sports talk stations, whose app doesn’t play ads for the first NINE MINUTES of each hour.

App periodically stops streaming and requires I open my iPhone (11) to watch an ad or two on 680TheFan screen before I can go back to the stream again. If I close my phone a second too early before the visual ads end the streaming won’t work and I have to go back through the aforementioned routine again. This is a radio app where most people ‘listen’ so if the marketing people at 680 really want to reach their ‘listeners’ maybe they should consider putting the ads in the audio stream instead of making listeners watch ads. Other than that 680TheFan is great and I really like the podcast library with replays of the prior day’s shows.

It’s a great idea and I would like to say how much I use it cause of work and travel but I can’t because of the extra ads that 680TheFan needs to have apparently. I’m not listing to the radio for every 2 minutes to have an extra ad played for 30 minutes then come back to the radio station and then 5 minutes later get another. What’s the point of saying it’s the radio if you can’t listen to it in it’s entirety. I’ve only managed to listen to a 15 minute segment a couple of times and then I just have to wait for it to be podcast to hear everything. If you want ads great but do them the same time the commercials of the station are going don’t ruin the experience cause you want more money such a stupid idea

Since the major overhaul of 680TheFan the interface and usability is MUCH better! The only frustrating thing is the amount of ads and how they randomly happen. It could be before, during, or after the radio stream. I would be willing to even subscribe or pay a one time fee to completely remove the ads. I live in North Georgia outside of the signal area so I rely on 680TheFan daily. I would greatly benefit from not having to mess with my phone and close an ad while driving down the road, especially with the new handsfree law. Love the station and 680TheFan , just looking for it to be a little more seamless to stream.

Love this station!! Didn’t know I could access by an APP!! Love the commentators on the games. I fired cable T V when spoiled brat football player took a knee disrespecting this great country that made his zero talent self wealthy!! Missed the games so much!! But FAN is an excellent substitute/ upgrade from expensive Cable. The commentators know all the baseball stats and make each game exciting!! Praise and appreciation to you at FAN!! You’ve brought this fan so much happiness. God Bless!

680TheFan drops out at times, so disturbing to the listening pleasure. Also it would be nice to have a rewind feature on 680TheFan . Love listening to the daily shows lineup especially Nick & Chris / Buck & Kincade.
Hope those two issues can be addressed soon. I live in the Cayman Islands and we’re big Braves fans! Chop On!

I want to like 680TheFan but it is way too focused on SLOWLY loading an ad or two on launch instead of playing live radio. Also, if it does play live radio there are too many drops despite being on a solid internet connection. Then there are the times a change in internet connection happens like wifi to cellular. More ads and the likelihood of the live feed dropping.

Whoever thinks these up front ads are a good thing should consider when they annoy me I switch to 92.9 (your competition) that doesn't require a spammy app because they have a solid FM signal.

For a Braves fan not located in Georgia, I’m always looking to watch or listen the games. Found 680TheFan but it’s less than stellar. You cannot leave 680TheFan and let it play in the background. You must leave it open and nothing else can be utilized or it will stop playing. App randomly stops playing for ads more often than it should. I understand there is regularly scheduled ads in between innings but while the inning is actively going and back to back to back within a minute of each other. Could be so much better.

I love 680TheFan for live streaming my favorite ATL sports talk station. But I can’t always listen to entire shows due to my work schedule. It would be great if the content included true podcasts where Chris and Nick’s entire show was posted to 680TheFan for us to listen when we can’t listen live, not just clips from the shows.

But thanks for 680TheFan and like Domino says “IT’S FREE”! So few of the best things are. 😁

The background music playing while people are talking is annoying. I can’t listen to Chuck & Chernoff anymore because the constant loop of unnecessary commercial music behind them is stupidly annoying. I know it is not a glitch because I was listening once when it wasn’t playing. Someone must have been alerted because it quickly switched it on again. I listened today after a month of listening to another station to see if it was gone and, alas, it wasn’t. Please get rid of it!

As someone living outside of Atlanta I use 680TheFan everyday because I love the actual shows, but this has to be the worst app on my phone. Podcasts are some times uploaded every day, and then they will go almost a whole week without uploading C&C podcasts. 680TheFan will Also just shut down while listening about 75% of the time, which will force you to listen to the god awful radio voice guy intro again just to get back to where you were. Tons of room for improvement but I’ll still be on here every day

Over the last few years 680TheFan has gone from marginal to outstanding. I live in the ATL and, except for when driving, always listen via 680TheFan . I really enjoy the podcast so I can catch several segments if I miss them live. Keep up the good work.

I love being able to listen to Braves games on 680TheFan. Being in Arkansas, it is my only choice for heading the local broadcast. But I have noticed it has started to drain my batter 24 hours a day. I haven’t opened 680TheFan in 3 or 4 days, but my phone shows it has been working on the background for the last 24 hours non stop and draining my battery to the point my phone is getting hot.

The only true bright, comedy-sports alternative in the Atlanta metro. No show on talk radio, sports or otherwise has the fun-based sports presentation of this legitimate modern day comedy duo. Thank you guys, you’re enhancing my retirement, my sports knowledge, and my exercise time. Appointment radio.

Not a fan of 680TheFan version. I understand the need for ads but don’t understand why 680TheFan keeps refreshing and a new ad interrupts the show I’m listening to live. Also, the ads are too long. Charge more of a premium and make it a 15second spot. Or charge me a small amount to subscribe ad free. I like the content enough to pay for it.

I love everything about 680TheFan and use it often to listen at work. The only thing missing is the lack of support for landscape mode on an iPad. 680TheFan can only display in portrait mode right now.

I keep hoping that each new app update will fix the problem of the sound cutting out intermittently, but alas, it doesn’t. When listening to a live show, it happens almost constantly where the sound blanks out for 5-10 seconds, or sometimes even shuts off completely. The podcasts work fine, but not the live broadcast. Frustrating.

Greg app. BUT need to work on audio quality. Which is ironic because I listen to 680TheFan because the stations signal strength is absolute garbage. Only station in Atlanta I cannot hear well from my house. Get it fixed...

The content is great! Love 680The Fan! Problem is when I go through cellular dead spot app stops playing (which all streaming apps do) but doesn’t start playing when I get back in good cell service. I have to pick up phone and press play button to start stream back up. Hope this input helps tweak app!

Since I moved out of Georgia I depend on 680 to keep me abreast of local Atlanta sports. The show is great but 680TheFan is disappointing. 680TheFan constantly pushing me to the Apple store or just stops playing.
Love the shows but I hope you guys can resolve this issue. Ask the King to take a salary hit so the radio station can improve 680TheFan .

Most days, despite good internet connection, streaming will frequently stop every 10 minutes. On a good day, it stops every 30 minutes. It resumes when I press Stop+Play, but it gets old having to do this every 10 minutes to get the radio feed to stream.

I’m getting notifications even though that is turned off. I’m getting the Nick and Chris notification and I don’t want it or any other notifications. Nick and Chris’ show, however is my favorite. Nick is very underrated. Very talented guy! App sometimes pauses for no reason.
