FRC Spyder Reviews

I have the same problem a few others have mentioned. When I first install FRCSpyder it works great. When I close it and reopen it, it says no events found. When I reinstall, it works fine one time. Rinse and repeat.

My daughter is a senior this year and I really wanted to support her and know everything that was going on and thought FRCSpyder was going to be great. And it is! When I first install. Then, it won’t update between matches. It says no update found. and everything is blank. I have to uninstall and reinstall. Every single time I want to check my kids team score. That’s unacceptable.

I would love for this to work but the updates never load. I can never tell what is going on

This used to be the go to app for FIRST. There isn’t an update for teams and events. Now using the Blue Alliance.

Have used FRCSpyder for many years, but doesn’t appear to work now on my iPhone8. Initial load is good and I can find teams/events. After the first update they are all lost and can’t get anything else. Sad if I can’t use it anymore.

FRC Spyder isn’t horrible and works well (if a little slow)... but for some reason I keep getting scores from Stronghold 2016.

The Spyder app is super helpful in tracking my team and our scores. However sometimes the stats don't display all the time. Also the notifications are broken so please fix these bugs for a future update. Thanks

I downloaded this while my son’s team was halfway across the state at their first (ha ha, pun not intended) event of the season. It was really useful in terms of following the team through the qualification rounds, especially once I figured out some of the features available (but hidden) on the Event page.

However, they’ve moved on to the Elimination round and FRCSpyder hasn’t updated anything! Isn’t showing alliances or schedule or anything else. I am able to find it at the blue alliance web site, so clearly the information is available.

Also, there are a few places where the interface is not intuitive and/or takes extra steps to achieve my goal. For example, I tap on a favorite team and it shows me the event. Then i tap on the event title, hoping it will show me the team’s results for that event - but no, it takes me to a numerical listing of all teams in the event and i have to tap again. Stuff like that is frustrating.

This is a great app. Keeps me on track during matches. The only concerns I have is that it does not update quickly after qualifying matches, and I wish it would go more in depth. It would be nice to know the categories points are scored in, like autonomous, scaling, etc like FIRST shows after every match.

For the most part, FRC Spyder has been my best friend throughout my years in FRC. However, there are times matches don't update. This could be due to slow response times between FRCSpyder and wherever it gets match information from.

One feature that I'd like to see is the option to turn on a team notification for changes in current rank. Specific match points per category would be nice as well.

Needs some 3d touch to get to favorite teams and events faster

Needs a district and national rankings tab

It has up to date information on all the teams, just wish there were links to each of their websites.

When you need to track things while on the move at a competition (or want to see how a team is doing without staying glued to a webcast), FRCSpyder is a must-have. Can’t top it!

When you're at the FRC competitions or even trying to follow them on the live streams, this is the only app to use. The schedule updates, predictions, rankings and aliance selection information is invaluable for scouting as well as casually following your favorite team. Thanks for the great app!

I love FRCSpyder ! Great to keep track at regionals. I would suggest possible offseason event support? Events like CORI and IRI and any others you catch wind of. I think it would be pretty useful. Watching IRI right now and having to wait to see where my team or others are ranked is quite a hassle.

This is a great app to use. Especially when you don't have access to a live stream, or in addition to watching one or being at a competition. FRCSpyder does not crash and is easy to navigate. One suggestion is a pull down to refresh option to make refreshing quicker and easier. Thanks for this awesome app!

Perfect for following matches and watching ranks.

FRCSpyder was a great help for my team to constantly check our standings and help scout other teams. It was nice that teammates in the pits working on stuff that were unable to watch matches could still get scores. Had a great year with FRC and this only made it easier :)

I really like FRCSpyder and it helped a lot but just recently it stopped working. You can still see the events but there aren't any teams on any of them even the ones that have already competed. Hopefully this will be fixed soon and I can update my reveiw.

EDIT: I got it to work, all I did was delete all of the data and refresh it. I had to re-add my favorites but that didnt take long at all. Go 3061!
