I’ve canvassed using minivan for years and it’s always been a pretty solid program up until the newest update. I can promise you than no canvasser EVER needs a prompt after every single person who is marked inaccessible/refused. It’s tedious, annoying, and it was incredibly EASY to change how you marked someone if you did happen to hit the wrong selection before the update. I’d also like to note that many canvassers have to switch between MiniVANTouch and texts/emails/photos/etc and there is no reason AT ALL to auto direct back to the list screen every time you have to use anything else. Any good canvasser canvasses by the map view. Please know your customers better, my entire team is annoyed by all of this.

Destroyers my phone battery if location settings is on but makes canvassing a hell of a lot more efficient and streamlined access to data for campaigns. Could make it less of a battery killer and improve mapping data since some homes are harder to find if they don’t fit the norm but there isn’t any better option. Canvassing is the top determiner of election results easily. Suggestion: allow user to store more than 1 list at a time so they can switch between them. Also make less clicking needed to answer for multiple household members by default especially when usually only one responds if at all.

Fairly user friendly. It would be nice to have the ability to mark an entire building as inaccessible so if there’s an apartment building you can’t get into you don’t have to go through each individual person. Also it would be great if when you look at list details and look at how many people you marked for a yard sign, to be able to just pull up those addresses.

I have used MiniVANTouch several times; way better than paper. Easy to use, and I’m 68. I would like a few bells and whistles for encouragement. Halfway through send a message, like “Congratulations. Halfway there. Keep going.” When 10 houses from done, let user know in case thinking of giving up. At the end some balloons or fireworks or stars. With paper you can see your progress and how much is left. With this you have no idea.

It appears to drain memory like crazy and that should be fixed ASAP. Another suggestion: in People, Household and Map views there should be a mode to see/sort locations by the following criteria: if this location has been worked (LD, Going to vote by mail, Moved, etc) or not. This way a user can see right away what locations she hasn’t visited yet.

MiniVANTouch is easy to use and is a great canvassing tool. My biggest issue is that every time I lock my phone screen MiniVANTouch resets back to my list and I lose my spot where I was planning on my map or have to find the person’s house again very quickly before they open the door because I forgot their names and I have to completely re-navigate MiniVANTouch to get where I was

Overall good app but the map is not accurate with showing actual address or my location. This was my first time using it for a political campaign. It froze up multiple times after running it continuously for about 2 hours - had to close and restart MiniVANTouch each time it froze.

Usually MiniVANTouch is fine, but for a week now it closes and has to completely restart every time the screen locks for at least 30 seconds. Then you have to re-navigate to the page you were on before the screen locked. It greatly slows down canvassing and drains battery. Please fix this bug!

I’ve worked 5 campaigns and have used miniVAN for all of them, I really liked that you updated it so people can canvas in pairs. The only thing I’d like to see is some way to mark multiple houses as inaccessible, that way I don’t have to waste 10 minutes marking 50 doors in a gated community.

I’ve worked on many campaigns and I’ve always had great luck with minivan. Although I would like to see there be an quicker way to mark houses and communities “inaccessible” and I would also like to see a more accurate GPS location of houses on the map.

Party affiliation should be right on the list view. Takes too many clicks to find that out. Also, when you don’t contact someone it’s easy to indicate why and it shows up, but when you do contact someone it doesn’t want to update and show that fact. Also, you need to be able to filter by party affiliation.

Pros: way easier for the canvasser to identify prospects and enter data, than using paper lists. WAY easier for the field organizer.

Cons: Randomly logs me out, sometimes several times an hour, which can be a major problem canvassing in areas with limited cell service. This bug has persisted through at least six updates. Have to switch apps to navigate.

MiniVANTouch started crashing for me after every report. But even before then, MiniVANTouch wouldn't save state when going into background. This is very frustrating when trying to canvass. The devs should spend more time on stability instead of encouraging progress messages.

Since you can’t get list til you’re at the location it would be great to have a mock list for training. Ability to download a mock list onto computer or tablet would also be helpful for team training

MiniVAN totally streamlines the process for volunteering with a campaign, eliminating the need for canvassers to carry a bunch of clipboards and walk sheets. It also eliminates the need to do a bunch of data entry after canvassing. Can’t recommend highly enough.

At an organizing meeting about to canvas. Others who have earlier versions have buttons to record voter answers. Mine doesn’t give me check buttons. Not sure if this is a local script creator issue or something with your latest update. Please troubleshoot please and thank you!

Does not work. Sends you to start at locations nowhere near where you are or were told to start canvassing. Routes are long with large gaps. I would only do this if you have a car, otherwise you will end up walking miles to your route only be be directed somewhere else to actually start working.

Extremely difficult to use now because when you shut off your screen, MiniVANTouch restarts and puts you at the top of the list. Only way to stop this is to keep app open, but that drains battery. Needs to be fixed otherwise it’s going to hinder organizers ability

It doesn't remember your password and I usually have to log in several times.

Drains my battery but good. Crashes sometimes. I would love if they added a phonebanking option.

I have tried many Times to change my password, but the email to reset never arrives. I have tried to logon several times, but the logon page just reload again and again. There is no contact mechanism to ask for help! Where do I go to find help?

On iOS 13.3, MiniVANTouch loses all its state when locking the screen. I have to leave MiniVANTouch open and my phone unlocked with the screen on for the entire time I’m canvassing, forcing me to carry around a huge power bank to finish a single list. Patch notes claim this is fixed, but it absolutely isn’t.

Like another reviewer, I can’t add a list number onto my iPhone 6s. Have reinstalled several times but it still doesn’t work. Very frustrating to keep getting the message that “an unknown error occurred”. The minivan site doesn’t provide help either.

MiniVANTouch really helped me canvassing today. Once I got the hang of it, it was great. However, the maps portion really needs fixing. It was pretty good east-west, but consistently off by 2 blocks north-south.
