NO! NO! NO! NO!

This Route4Me Route Planner App is NOT as convenient as you’d think Based on the rave reviews, I had high hopes for this App in helping me be efficient in getting my sometimes very long list of errands completed in a timely fashion, without backtracking the same streets I already traveled. Unfortunately this App is not to be trusted. Right off the bat, when I typed in my first destination to the Wells Fargo bank two minutes from me, I learned that this App is unreliable. The App suggested Wells Fargo bank locations that are WAY FAR from me, like a different city, and it even listed a few that are two States away from me!!! It completely fails to list the Wells Fargo branches that I KNOW are within walking distance. I just cannot make sense of this!! So I played around with the App thinking it must be a fluke, some kind of random glitch, but sadly it continues to happen, making the entire purpose of this App (to be an efficient commuter) completely useless. Not only is the above mentioned a huge disappointment, but there are additional flaws I’ve encountered using the App, such as not being user friendly when wanting to make changes to a route. The creators of this App make it WAY MORE DIFFICULT than it needs to be. It should be super simple, but it’s a pain instead. I truly don’t get all the fabulous reviews. I ended up deleted it.

“10 Free” routes is misleading

I haven’t moved from my location in the five minutes since I downloaded this app and I’m still trying to set up my first route, yet 8 of my 10 “free” routes for the month have already been used. ?????? Come on! I’m just trying to figure the best way to set the final destination for my hectic schedule through your interface! And I’m pretty certain the route I’m experimenting with at 5 am may change based on traffic later in the day. If this app works I would pay $10/month to use it for my kid’s carpools AND recommend it to everyone I know and post it to all the parenting info groups (carpooling chaos is no joke and parents will pay to make it easier!), but if you promise a free trial please give me a chance to use the route before you demand automatically recurring payments. I have been a GIS professional using mapping software for 20 years, so I know I’m not the only one who is going to have to tinker a bit to set up my first route. Adding a “Go” button to lock in a route or using location services to see if I’ve moved before counting an edit as a route could make me a lot less angry about this. Or just charge me up front with no free trial, but right now I feel cheated.

10 Routes/Month? Yeah Right.

I don't plan routes for big things. I'm not a trucker/serviceperson who needs their routes optimized on the daily/weekly. I *do* occasionally have the need to make several stops in a day, and use an optimizer to make sure I'm not wasting fuel nor time. I downloaded this for that purpose. 9.99/mo is ridiculous for someone who may not even use this monthly. But I still figured that 10 routes/mo should really cover my needs. I used the app once 6 weeks ago. (Note that is longer than 4 weeks/1 month) I tried to use the app today, where the app refused to delete the previous route. The loading icon would spin and do nothing. So I started a new route. Entered my POI and hit optimize. It did as asked. Realized I missed a POI so I added it to the route and reorganized (as the route was set with end-lock). Hit optimize. "You've run out of optimizations for the month! Pay us!" I really want to like this app. The GUI and options for route planning are nice. But the free version is buggy and crippled by this issue. And the price is unjustifiable for my extremely minor use. + 1 star for GUI + 1 star for Routing Options - 1 star for Expensive Price Points - 2 star for Bugs - 1 star for lack of POI support (named locations (aka "McDonalds" or "Six Flags" are hit or miss, usually miss)
