The game has a very nice look to it, and granted, the controls do take a bit of getting used to, but I'm not really seeing much depth in actual strategy in battle. All military units have about the same range, and you can't choose which unit is attacking which enemy. Therefore, battle comes down to throwing as many troops into an area as possible, and rebuilding fighters as they die, and moving fighters to your other ships that can't produce their own. That's all I'm really seeing. If I'm missing something, please enlighten me, because I was really looking forward to a deep game, but frankly I'm about to give up on it.
Uniwar has the level of depth and competition that I enjoy. That one is 5 stars easy.

I think there is potential to this game. The graphics are great and the selection of units, while limited, seems to cover most of the essential roles necessary to RTS strategies.
My big problem with the game is the cumbersome and overly complex control system. Even such simple tasks as moving a unit require multiple touches through a series of cascading menus. I was frustrated time and time again when I went to move a unit and found that it scrolled the screen instead because I hadn't first clicked on the "Move" icon to enter the magic "Move mode". A suggestion to the developer for future games: common and easy tasks should be quick and easy to accomplish. It's ok if more complicated tasks require more work of the user.
My other criticism is the lack of single-player content. You only get 5 single-player missions, plus two extremely confusing and not-terribly-helpful tutorials, plus 4 "challenge" levels. I was expecting a lot more of a single-player campaign experience when I bought the game.
So on the whole, if you have been dying to play RTS games on your iPhone it may be worth a look, but for now you might be better off checking out one of the other RTS offerings until the control system gets worked out completely.
