Very crappy app!

I had big hopes with UltimateGuide, as I’m a Disney fanatic and annual pass holder and I have an Apple Watch too. For UltimateGuide to work with my phone, I have to pay. I paid for a year since I have an annual pass and my Watch says to enable GPS on iPhone. This is apparently not in the phone app, so I go to Settings->Privacy->Location Services and tell UltimateGuide it can use location services. I go back to Watch... it tells me I have to enable subscription (which I’ve already done). I go into the subscription and hit the button to rentable previous purchase but nothing happens. I try to resubscribe but it says I already have. Garbage!

Inaccurate from the start

The very first thing I looked up - World of Color on the date we are going was wrong. Park hours 9am-9pm and World of Color is listed at 9:45pm

If I could post a screen shot I would. Deleting and looking for a better app. Maybe one from Disney.

Ugh!

Don’t waste your time. Can’t view or access anything unless you pay a fair amount of money. Why? When there are several free apps including the Disney Go app.

One of the best on UltimateGuide Store

Um.....lame!!!!!

I actually purchased UltimateGuide several years ago when there weren't many DL wait time app options available. I used it in conjunction with another wait times app. I found it to not be accurate from time to time. Plus, this developer didn't update the menu/prices when they changed. But I would use this as some sort of guideline anyways.
Now you just want to update UltimateGuide entirely? It's ridiculous that you just don't create a brand new app. Thankfully, I was able to stop the update. I usually never read the updates but I happened to open this one and look at it. I started to panic but stopped it in time before it was complete. Now those who keep the older version are being threatened with "as long as people are using it" nonsense. You want people to pay for your new app(s). If you do away with the old version, I for one, will delete UltimateGuide and cut my losses. I'll make sure to never download another app from you again (free or not). Sure, there are a lot of other DL wait apps available now (including one from DL). But there are also a lot of other apps that you could take/store pics (for free). Why would anyone want to spend money on your new app? You should have developed a new app(s). Instead you are trying to put people who previously purchased UltimateGuide into a corner by making them buy something new. It's a crappy thing to do.

Wonderful!!!

We use it every time we go to Disneyland! My family keeps track of the attractions we visit and use the maps to navigate the park. I use the fast pass reminder. Love UltimateGuide! For those that complain the times are off. It is important to note that like every other Disneyland wait time UltimateGuide relies on the people that use to it to post the time. It is important to note the time a wait time was posted. For example if it is 8:40 am and the wait time says 5 minutes and the time stamp says 8:00 am, it is very unlikely the time is still 5 minutes. A measure of common sense is important. It is important that we all do our part and post the wait times. This particular app is great for the extra features...the maps that give you the ability to plan what you want to do and what you have done, fast pass reminder, parking lot notes, dining information, and so much more. My family and I go to Disneyland twice a month and never leave home without UltimateGuide!

Excellent $4.99 app, but now want more?!

This was the perfect Disneyland app for anyone who loves Disneyland. It was $4.99 to purchase it and was well worth it for all the detailed maps, wait times for rides and access to all the restaurants and their menus with the option to make reservations while you wait in line for a ride!
Then they update it, make it look a little better but it's no longer as good of an app and now requires a subscription to continue using it! I paid you $4.99, which is considered a slightly more expensive app compared to the standard $.99-$1.99.
I appreciate the fact that they will leave the old server up for those of us who didn't upgrade and force ourselves into a subscription (they did warn us). But how long will it really stay active? They claim as long as it's being used by those who didn't upgrade it'll stay up. But, how do we as users really ever know how many are using it? It could be shut off at any moment and those of us who PAID $4.99 are screwed!
How are those of us that paid $4.99 not grandfathered in? We've already invested and are the reason you were making an income to keep developing UltimateGuide (you had a free version too).....Disgusting

Read me

I've been using Walkee since it came out and appreciate how much detail and info is in it and luv being part of the Walkee family. I've turned on a lot of my friends to Walkee. I'm not to into writing reviews but when my friend went to download it she wanted to no wats up with the blurry maps? Say what? She said a review said the maps were blurry and wasn't sure if she wanted to buy it. I told her that's bull chips, they r the clearest maps of any DL app. Anyway she got UltimateGuide and loves it. --- can you say FAN! They should pay me for this stuff.

Anyway I checked what the reviewer posted cause I'm bored cause my girlfriend is out shop-a-holicing - I was PEEVED at the bull this scamer-viewer-poster-shamer was posting. Dude, what kind of BSSSS are you spewing from that pie-hole of yours? Or are you just to dumb and dumber to figure out how to work an iPhone app. READ the instructions for goodnight sake. It isn't rocket sciencetology, it's an APP. I've seen 5 years olds scream it.

Anyway ppl, listen when I tell you the maps are freakin awesome, every ride, eats and shop links to it own very cool info page with more information than you'll need, with the exception of maybe mr rocket science, actually me thinks he's one of those app-assassins but who's counting.

Listen ppl - download UltimateGuide, you'll love it. They have thousands, maybe millions of users!!!

That's all - have a nice day!

Mostly Good.

I took a chance with this on a recent day trip to Disneyland. We didn't want to carry a paper map and I wanted to be able to monitor wait times. On the plus side, the UI is nice and offers some pretty handy tools to plan your trip (Calendars, Ride Descriptions, Ride Details and Tips). The Parking location tool is of course helpful and easy to set when you arrive, so getting back to your car after a long day is easier. I only found three areas of failure with UltimateGuide. First, the Wait time feature seemed to work about 50% of the time, I don't know if this was a fault of UltimateGuide , or ATT's data network. Next, the built in wait timer was always wrong. We used the phone clock to do a check and after 10 min, the wait timer was just ticking to 5 min, this made the feature pretty useless. Finally, even though it covers the rides at Disneyland & California Adventure it did not include a map for CA. I'm giving this 3 starts based on the bugs, if they got fixed this would be a solid 4.

Not so accurate

It showed rides were down when they weren't; wait times were not accurate -
It was nice to have a handy list of rides to check off, but… we ended up better off with a map, and walking the park (we chose to stay in the Main Park for the day and are familiar) to accurately determine what the wait time was and scheduling ourselves around the Fast Passes.
It drained my phone battery which I would rather do taking pictures.
If you've never been to the Park/s, it might be a useful tool, but you would need to double check the facts in person anyway, so I would recommend the old fashioned way - using the map you are given when you arrive, and checking out the attractions in person to be sure they are running and what the actual wait times are.
(TIP: BEST time for the park overall is first thing in the morning - from opening to about noon we were able to walk onto the big rides as well as casually stroll around the park without a crowd; it was lovely!)

Walkee was a life saver

Well, what can I say except the Walkee app saved my marrige. We drove in from San Jose last Thursday. Not being to good with directions (my wife keeps reminding me), I managed to get us lost before we even got to the hotel. We finally checked in two hours late. My wife and kids weren't real happy. After we cleaned up and had some dinner, we pulled out the Walkee app and set out to organize our entire weekend at Disneyland. I certainly didn't want us to get lost in the park. We decided to select our favorites in each land. Chose our restaurants, love seeing the menus, shops the whole deal. We hit the park, Walkee in hand and checked off each thing we did as we went.

Pre planning out the map and the gps in the park redeemed me with my family and made our first trip to Disneyland, once we got there, smooth sailing. Still can't figure out the freeways though!

well..

I got UltimateGuide due to a recommendation on a message board. UltimateGuide is okay but the price should not be 2.99. I wish it had a list view of all the attractions and dining would allow for easier navigation. Some of the dining section does not list food selections. It has the same functions as got plans app just in a different format. I do however like the southern California local dining section. This was probably the only part of UltimateGuide I really found interest in. I am unable to check out the wait times feature as im not in Disneyland until next week on July 7th and if you are not there it won't work. The graphics are better than some i've seen. The little facts about the attractions are a nice addtion for those who don't know anything about Disneyland.I gave it a 4 becuase it does what it say's it does but did not give it a 5 because it could still use some work and the price point is too high.

<3<3<3 it!!!

I just spent the wknd at disney & UltimateGuide proved itself to be one of the smartest purchases i have made. The GPS & wait times were so convenient. The ability to mark favorites (not limited to rides) and to check off what i had done definitely saved me from getting to frazzled about where to go & what to do. Anyone who has been there knws how stressful it can be after a while! It was great to find info on all of the attractions and the number to call for reservarions. The feature where you can select what to display on the map was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, i discovered the section to mark the parking area one day too late. My only complaint is that it is too limited to disneyland even tho California adventure is right next door. Either way, i will surely rely on UltimateGuide for many Disney trips to come.

Why are there missing rides?

Mostly a good application with some great features, but a couple of sticking points. First, in the "Wait Times" section, there are rides missing (notably all of the Fantasyland dark rides are missing). Why? Seems kind of arbitrary given what else is listed (and a wait time for Peter Pan could really come in handy). Also, I have reason to be suspect of some of these wait times. As I write this, DCA's Orange Stinger is listed as having a 22 minute wait time -- which is impossible since Orange Stinger closed last week and will not reopen until next year. Finally, there seems to be a bug in this version. When I try to use the "Wikipedia" option, the application complains that I don't have an Internet Connection (a moment later, the page appears behind the warning, but the warning prevents me from actually browsing the page).

Decent and useful

I recently spent two days at Disneyland with my family and downloaded iGuide in preparation. I found the user interface a little difficult to navigate, especially the opening screen that enables/disables features of the map. I also had a difficult time figuring out how to update wait times, which will probably be quite useful for a lot of users. My family didn't use the wait times features since we had a handicapped pass, so I can't comment on its reliability.

The background on each ride was really great. The ride closures information was accurate and let us know that the Indiana Jones ride would open on Friday but would be closed on Thursday. The GPS navigation seemed to be less than useful but then I have a slightly better than usual sense of direction so navigating the park by sight was easy.

Overall, this is a decent application but the UI detracted from its usefulness.

Warning: dinner reservations!

I loved the layout which is why I downloaded. But, as far as the dinner reservations, Disneyland doesn't approve of UltimateGuide. We made reservations for the Blue Bayou through UltimateGuide and it said "reserved." I thought it was strange that it didn't ask how many in the party or what my name was. But it said "reserved" so I went with it. We showed up 30 min before our reservation bc of my suspicion that it wasn't legit, and low and behold, we were told that they have been booked since two days prior and they maybe can accept walks in after 9pm. We were disappointed Bc we had been holding out on eating. Luckily my husband worked his charm and the hostess was gracious enough to get us in with a 40 min wait time. Which was perfect! We had our daughter get her portrait drawn right outside and our evening went as planned, @ the Blue Bayou. :) I hope UltimateGuide can figure out how to line up the reservations Bc UltimateGuide otherwise is pretty useful.

Needs work

The Walkee app attempts to address many of the issues first-time and experienced park visitors face. Attraction wait times, descriptions, age appropriateness, and much more. However a non-intuitive interface and less than complete set of included information sours the program.

Furthermore, a lack of a useful map hampers the value of the information. The cartoonish map doesn't help the new visitor.

While iPhone users get the benefit of some GPS features, iPod Touch users are completely denied any interactive use. UltimateGuide developers and Disney should provide a WiFi service for Walkee users to fully exploit the features of UltimateGuide as limited as they are. This could easily be fulfilled with basic network access control limited to Walkee users not to mention add value to Disney park iPhone/Touch application developers. Disney is leaving money on the table here.

I suggest:
A far more clever and intuitive user interface.
A zoomable interactive map of the park with more app-based information.
WiFi access for Walkee users to allow use of network based information.
A clear indication that iPod Touch users can not access most information while in the park where it is needed the most.

The best Disneyland/DCA by far

UltimateGuide is amazing and offers wait times, interactive park maps, event schedules, write-ups on all attraction, shops, places to eat and much, much more.

There is endless amount of information that will keep you well informed and up to date on all things Disneyland/DCA/Downtown Disney to make your visit fun and efficient.

The only thing I hope to see in an update is where the restaurant menus are located. As it is now if you want the menu to Blue Bayou you select the Blue Bayou lunch or dinner menu on the interactive park map and it takes you to an outside webpage. Which can cause problems if your in an area that has bad cell signal (just about every indoor attraction line at Disney). I would like to see everthing self contained in UltimateGuide .

Pricey, but worth it

Just completed a weekend at Disneyland and have to say UltimateGuide came in very, VERY handy. Pretty much planned our in-park itinerary right down to eating and shopping. Was able to make a few in process changes also thanks to real time updates for ride wait times. Nice descriptions of rides and shows, including height requirements if you have little kids with you. Would like to have seen a few features that were absent. Such as ability to draw a physical path on the map of the park, or numerically sequence the itinerary, maybe write some notes. But still came in very handy, much easier and more useful than the park provided map.

Good app - excited to see updates!

I purchased and used UltimateGuide last week for a trip to DL and DCA. Sometimes app would be unresponsive on 'wheel' view when adding/subtracting items. Schedule was off for some items during week (parade/fireworks/attraction closings etc...) easy to check in park though. Parking function is good - would love if it could 'set' for a particular day or provide some feedback that it is set. Wait times were very good and liked the fact that you could see the time at which the wait was posted. I kept time for a few days on the rides and liked the timer function as well. Map was pretty good but I'm very familiar with park. Great info about the rides and overall a great app and quite useful. Can't wait to try out future updates!
