Horrible app

2022-06-29

I hate OmerCounter and the stupidity it promotes

Great idea but app has issues

2022-08-05

I use and will stay with previous version which works beautifully. This update doesn’t keep settings even after I press confirm and doesn’t fit my iPhone Xs screen. For example, I can’t set a custom day because the menu options are “below” the bottom of my screen.

Loved It … But Crashed ….

2022-09-06

This is a go-to app but something happened as i was about to use it for Day 9. It crashed.
Checked to see if there is an update today. Yes there is. Applied it. Nothing.
Not opening. {shrug}. O well.
Prior to that, this was a wonderful app that went beyond the standard fare by applying one’s heart to the requirement to Offer Omer this time of year, amongst other intriguing Offering enhancing considerations.

I will wait a few days. Perhaps it did not like this year’s 9th Day. I can only hope.

If I have one gripe it is the hive-mind of praying for Ukraine. I imagine the developer(s) has/have ancestry in that region. Because, unlike what the western media blabs daily, there are many many armed conflicts happening on this planet to-day … but they aren’t Europeans. What are those poor souls holed up in those messes; chopped liver?
We pray for everyone who finds their life and living threatened by armed conflict in their homeland, from the small village no one cares about to the cities, even in USAmerica, where gun violence is a frequent daily prevalence and a regularity, and those places where strategists figure which best war-toy to use to win the day’s battles.

Easy and inspiring

Easy to navigate interface and quotes to uplift during the Omer — what could be better?

Love this app!

I love OmerCounter and it really helps me count. I appreciated the more liberal outlook rather than the Chabad app. David responded right away to my problem with the last update and it’s working great now!

Amazingly beautiful in it's simplicity. I know that I will not forget to count this year now that I have this. Great graphics!

Makes counting easy and meaningful

2023-04-13

OmerCounter is wonderful. I use it every night to count the Omer, and I love reading and reflecting on the quotes, R’ David’s prayer for democracy, and Ana B’Ko’ach. Highly recommended for both first-time Omer counters and those who have been practicing Sefirat Ha’Omer for years!

Great app!

Great app

2023-06-15

OmerCounter is so helpful for remembering which day of the Omer it is and counting it correctly. I love that I can simply count the Omer if that’s all I want, or I can get more—a quote for the day and the sefirot for the day. It is really useful.

Best omer counting app!

I have been using this for years after several years of unsuccessful attempts at a meaningful Omer practice. I finally found OmerCounter for Counting the Omer! Favorite Omer App

2023-08-17

I have been using OmerCounter for several years to count the Omer. I love the thought provoking comments, the helpful links, and the mystical teachings. I appreciate that that I can make choices on the Nusach so I can use my family’s Sephardic tradition. OmerCounter is also very aesthetically appealing. The daily reminder keeps me on track!

Features

(An omer is a measure of grain, like a bushel.) Each night during the 49 days of this seven week period, the count of the days is recited with a blessing--this ritual is called "Sefirat HaOmer." In Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism), each of the 49 days also corresponds with the purification of a specific quality within ourselves that connects to the divine.

There is also a modern custom, based on the Sefirot and counting the Omer, to similarly count the days from Tisha B'Av to Rosh Hashanah.

These qualities are called "Sefirot," and remembering which qualities correspond to each day has been part of the ritual of counting the Omer since the Middle Ages.

This app will help you count the Omer from Passover to Shavuot by keeping track of the count and giving you the blessing and the Hebrew for each day's count.

What is the Omer? Exactly seven weeks fall between Passover and Shavuot, marking the transition from the redemption in Egypt to the revelation at Sinai.

For each day of the Omer, it will also show you which quality was connected by the Kabbalists with that day, and it will give you a quote related to that quality, along with links to find out more about counting and what it means.

This period is called the Omer, and it also corresponds to the time between the barley harvest and the wheat harvest in ancient Israel.

It will also help you count the seven weeks from Tisha B'Av to Rosh Hashanah.

The app keeps track of the days and the Sefirot and also includes quotes and intentions for each day.
