Great App Ding Wen :)

At the age of 13, this classmate of mine is still coding :)
He's going on to Open GL and a lot more, and he's far ahead, further than a lot of students his age.

Lovely game

first off, this is an amazing feat for a little kid to accomplish. I probabaly won't be able to do this when I'm 99!

second, all of you idiot giving it one * because you can't save it: if you read DoodleKids info, it tells you that you can save it by taking a pic of your screen. how, you ask? you press the sleep and home buttons simultaneously! I just happens to mention that in the description too! from that point, you go into your pics from the home screen and treat it as any other picture you have taken using the actual camera or uploaded from your computer. please get all your info before you decide that an app is crap.

Great App

To save, take a screen shot. To change the background, tap the screen with two fingers. To make the background black, shake the iPod or phone. DoodleKids is designed for kids to get creative with various shapes, colors and patterns. It does what it says it does. All the people who want more features to make it not always random are just control freaks.

One fun thing to do with DoodleKids is to tap all over the screen as to have various shapes scattered around, then tap OVER those shapes to try to have those fit inside or around the first ones. Then, take a screen shot and enlarge the picture using the photo feature that came with the iPod/Phone.

It's free

I really don't get how you can critique this game that much. I mean, come on! It's free! Plus, it is pretty good coming from a 9 year old. That doesn't make it an amazing app, but I think we should give the kid props for making something that not only works, but is a great time waster. If you really get into it you can come up with some fun and awesome looking stuff.

So keep up the good work kid. All great men start out small. ;)

it's so cute :3

and by the way, all you losers who make fun of this should just shutup... stop calling it trash just because it's not a super-duper awesome action game. this kid is nine, this is probably the best he can do, which is still pretty amazing.
an you know what? if u don't like the game then why did u download it? all you have to do is read about it, and if u don't like it then don't get it. This game's good for when ur bored or when ur childs bored u could give them this game to play with.. and it also makes pretty wallpapers that u could use for ur iphone :D
don't listen to the haters and losers, kid and keep up the good work :DD

Seriously...

For those of you ranking this kid out on the program, I don't think half of you know what it actually takes to write a program. Being a computer science programmer myself, even a little app like this can take a lot of work. Having a 9 year old understand ANYTHING about programming just proves that it's worth some praise. I give props to that. And to those whining about ever having downloaded it, you read the description and who made it. Seriously, what more did you expect?

9 year old? Doesn't matter.

I'm going to give this a fair review, and putting age aside. DoodleKids is very simplistic, and gets old rather fast. It really doesn't appear like that much effort was put into this, again due to the simplicity. I can see why some would enjoy this, but I do not.

Now, I'll speak on the age. Honestly, it's the only reason that DoodleKids has any 3+ star ratings. People go "aww, a kid made it, cute." I personally do not care about the age/gender/ect. of the developer, it's the content that counts. That being said, I could create something similar in about an hour, and I don't think that something that can be made so effortlessly deserves to be as high ranked as this.

Pretty, Abstract

Some people are only giving DoodleKids five stars because a nine year old made it. Big deal, the kid is a genius... Anyway, DoodleKids is basically an app where you slide your finger across the screen with the shape (in differet sizes and shapes) following your finger, making a trail. There are like five different shapes and come out very pretty in the end. The backgrounds are nice too, and it is very easy to use. Could use an update for more patterns in the trails. Keep up the good work little genius!

Great app!

To save pictures, all you have to do is take a screen shot. Press the sleep/wake button at the same time as the home button. The screen will flash white to let you know it worked. Then you can find it saved as a picture.

This little trick works from any page, although I'm not exactly sure of the procedure for the iPod touch. I assume that if you can have pictures on your iPod, then you can take screen shots.

Seriously!!!

U people are idiots, this is a 9 year old kid who wrote a program for his sisters. I'm reading these reviews saying,"it's simple, it could be better,I'd give It 0 stars". he's 9 years old, there r adults who don't know who to navigate the web, who don't know how operate a iPod, this 9 year old made a program, regardless how simple it is. I think its impressive and I hope he makes more programs, disregard these arrogant nerds and there negative comments, keep it up kid!!

Okay

I have to agree with some people this is a good app for a nine year old but that doesn't mean you need to get mad at anyone who gives it a bad rating. I personally think that to make this a better app you would have to add tons more features. When I first looked at DoodleKids and it's rating I thought oh good a high rated app but when I tried it out I realized that DoodleKids is so simplistic nine year old or not it isn't that well designed. We should not discriminate on age gender or race. That even means giving an app a good rating when it deserves a bad one. So fix DoodleKids.

This app rocks

OMG, DoodleKids is so much fun haha. I thought at first it was gonna be lame but my 2 year old LOVES it, everytime you touch it theres a different shape, size and color so it's always a surprise, and the background changes to many different colors too. Even I, a 21 year old, think it's super cute. Now when I go out, I just bust out this game and I don't have to worry about my son being loud and all over the place, thinks totally entertains him

Def for kids

I can see my cousin and her friends loving this, as they are under 10 and love to steal my iPod from me. As a 20 year old though, I didn't get too much enjoyment out of this. I rate it a 5 because it successfully fulfills it's goal (game for children). Yes it's amazing a 9 yr old made it but it that's not the reason for 5 stars. If you don't like it, then you've probly outgrown the age where bright colors and shapes popping up excites you.

For Those who gave Bad reviews

To Those who gave bad reviews, keep in mind that this was made by a nine-year-old, and that you were nine, you probably never would have been able to think of something as creative as this.
And you can save your photos if you want, all you have to do is hold down the home and power buttons at the same time then release.
Love DoodleKids 's creativity
