After no telling how many years, more than 6-7 I have over and over came back to IDLock for some my most important info and data, even though multiple phones and IDLock being automatically offloaded etc; this always would work and pull up all my saved stuff. Until today when reinstalling IDLock I wondered why it seemed as if I never had it installed to being with, only for me to find out the original app I had been using, while made by same developers, was completely changed and then renamed and branded as IDLock. While the name of IDLock I used was “my eyes only”… I now have a useless app if none of my stored data, and only functions to tell me to pay for the subscription to make account etc.
why would I EVER again trust this to be reliable when it lost and failed me only to just demand money… do not recommend!!! And DO NOT TRUST!!!
I was happy with My Eyes Only app. It was switched to ID Lock. I paid for service but it didn’t transfer over to new app. Over a 2 month period I emailed “help” desk. Very unclear and I still don’t have an answer on where my $ went. It doesn’t sync. I didn’t ask to change, it wasn’t a choice. Did some research and there are a lot of products that do the same thing better with service people who actually help you. Do some research before getting involved with this company
Over $30 to add additional items. What a rip off. I have had IDLock for a number of years and have never felt I had to backup my information to a third party, I already backup my iPhone on a regular basis. But this latest release is clearly trying to force existing users onto their subscription service.
Too many “developers” are offering a basic free package, and than try to entice you with additional features for a small fee.
So now I will try to find alternative or revert to pen & paper, at least that’s free.
I have had IDLock over 5 years and I have already paid for it. I don’t need or want the cloud backup. The new update is now forcing you to buy a subscription. It’s a typical bait and switch money grab by the developer. The new upgrade makes this useless to me now. Ethically I don’t know how you charge someone for something and then after years of data input require more payment for functions not wanted. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEVELOPER THEY WILL UNDOUBTEDLY FIND A WAY TO MILK YOU OF MORE MONEY DOWN THE ROAD.
Worked great until the recent upgrade. Now they require a paid upgrade to use features that use to work (for the last 5 years). I originally paid for IDLock , and now they want me to pay again to keep features working.
IDLock used to be the best but now it requires a subscription and cloud syncing to use it. I would have happily paid for the continued use of IDLock as it was but not with the new requirements. Sadly deleting it after many years of use.
You get to keep it on your phone long enough to get all your passwords entered then they force you to sync all of your passwords to their cloud where even Steve Jobs said all clouds can be hacked. I don’t know about you but I can’t take the risk.
No matter how many times I update IDLock it keeps crashing. Please fix this!
I can create a custom category but then cannot add items to this category????? Would give it 5 stars if this problem was resolved.
I've gotten a lot of use out of this ap this far- at least over a year. It has been a good tool for me. But upon updating today I learned I will now have to pay an annual fee to encrypt and backup my data- of which there is a lot now. Kind of feels like a bait and switch. This will be a deal-breaker for a lot of people, and would have been for me if i hadn't already invested so much time and energy entering all my data to the ap. Thus the downgrade to 3 stars. (It was 4 before). And 3 is generous after pulling that stunt. Just be aware your fees don't end upon paying for the ap with this one. I don't blame them for wanting to increase profits but for those of us who have been using this for over a year and already have a LOT of data in it, they could have given us the courtesy of grandfathering us in. And there should be more transparency to these fees upon purchase than I'm currently seeing, which is why I'm writing this review.
I have use IDLock for years, including when you didn’t have to pay yearly for subscription. I hate paying for the subscription, but it seems like everybody does that now. I just got an iPhone 14 and apparently you cannot use face ID to unlock IDLock . With my old iPhone SE, I can at least use my thumb print. It seems odd that I actually have to type in a password into an app that helps me not have to type in passwords…
Still a great app and I will stay with it. Maybe they will fix the problem.
I seldom write reviews. However, having said that, the simplicity and the good design of IDLock compelled me to write a few words. This is by far the best private information storage app I have seen so far!!! and believe me, I have tried a few of them. It is well worth the $7.99 or how much ever they are charging for IDLock ! I really am glad that IDLock does not send my personal information over to any of their servers, etc. as I absolutely would not want to have my personal information floating anywhere. Visually it is not bad to look at. The templates that it has does appeal to me. I can see how they would assist someone looking for a specific thing; like a specific credit card, etc. One suggestion: I would like to see more templates. I am sure the encryption also would be working in the background as advertised, as I cannot see it working. I highly recommend IDLock.
I’m so happy to know. That I can find my passwords in a snap when needed.
My Eyes Only was very well designed! Excellent attention to detail, and a very well thought out user interface. My opinion, based on 20 years working in software quality assurance. I give it five stars, but I wish it either had a companion app for my pc, or the ability to import or better yet... sync with KeePass files. With so much private data to keep track of these days, I want one common place to keep it, but easy access both mobile and when I'm on my pc's (home and work). And I want the ability to do much of the create/update of data on a real keyboard. That's a tall order so I'm not holding back a star, but My Eyes Only would blow away the competition with that addition! I've seen a couple iPhone apps out there which are KeePass compatible, but none are as feature rich as My Eyes Only. So I haven't switched yet, despite having to maintain data in two places.
I have been using My Eyes Only for at least a year. It is the most comprehensive password/ID lockbox available for the iPhone. I really wouldn't trust my passwords with any other software. A password is required to access your private information and can also be required to see individual details if desired. The categories offered for private information is among the best of its kind, and the ability to back up is absolutely priceless. I recently had to restore my phone's settings and lost quite a bit of password information because of it. If I would have had the Aerochive software I would have been able to recover gracefully. You can bet I'll have and use it now! Get this software and rest easy knowing your private information is at your fingertips but safe from prying eyes.
Ever go into panic mode trying to remember a forgotten login, password and/or the email account that the information may or may not be sent to you? How about needing a PIN number, vital credit card number (or your AAA information) and you don't have the card with you? Have you tried to come up with multiple clever passwords that you can actually remember . . . and then the site insists you change it for security reasons? Imagine, one place with one secure password for ALL your secure information that you have to remember! And that information can be put in and accessed with an elegant, easy to use interface? That's what MyEyesOnly is and does for me and will do for you. It has now become SOP for me to input vital information into MyEyesOnly as soon I join a site or a club (such as getting a frequent flyer number) get a new or renewed credit card, get a new login and password, that I will need to access in the future. It is one of my top five most useful apps. In fact, IDLock alone would be enough to justify my iPhone.
Many apps promise the world but only few deliver to one's expectation or as outlined in the apps marketing details. If you are looking for a solution to safely, easily and effectively manage ALL OF YOUR ONLINE LOG IN INFORMATION, look no further. I have been using My Eyes Only (MEO) for many months now without a glitch. IDLock is secure through it’s high end data encryption, loads quickly, extremely easy to use and for a very small one time fee (for additional software), even offers the capability to back up all of your information to your Mac or PC with ease over a WIFI connection all while remaining encrypted during the back up. Again, don’t hesitate to buy IDLock and start enjoying the peace of mind know that all your online info is in a safe and easy to access location…… in your pocket and backed up to your computer!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Works flawlessly and no update has ever toasted my info (as mentioned by some other guy).
Not only do these folks know what they are doing, they actually listen to our 'rants' and 'wish-lists' and take them under consideration. Being a software developer myself, I know what it takes to create a user interface that 'works'. Great job guys/gals! I'm taking serious notes!
I do have two suggestions though...
The first is the usual 'more-credit-card-faces' rant. Instead of trying to fill IDLock with every credit card face known to man, why not let IDLock download them from a web site at the user's request? This way the list can be easily appended as we users 'rant' without requiring updates. I'm pretty sure getting updates through Apple is like a date with the dentist! As I told you, I am a developer... I know!
My second suggestion is... YOU SHOULD BE CHARGING MORE FOR IDLock! What the heck! Most of the stuff uploaded to the AppStore cost twice what yours does and is only HALF as good!
From one software developer to another... MILK IT DUDES AND DUDETTES!!! That's the American way! We all expect to pay more for quality. I expected to pay more for my 'A4' than for a 'Focus'... Get it?
Peace!
I rarely give anything a five-star rating, but IDLock deserves one. It has a good interface to allow storage of vital information. What I like about it is the newly updated security features that give some flexibility to the access. The feature that I think I like most, though, is that SS information looks like a SS card. Credit cards, look like credit cards. The customer support has been great, too, when I've e-mailed suggestions and comments.
Now to the naysayers here who have complained about the usefulness of this have missed the point. YES, it IS possible to whip out the credit cards when you need them. However, if the card is stolen, all of the important information is easily accessed from the iTouch/Phone, without having to fumble around for something you've written down. Since I carry mine in a belt holder, the information is always available, but it is secured in the unlikely event that I lose it.
Great app, and I would recommend it. BTW: I rarely pay this much for an app, but this one is worth the money.
Especially for those who use a variety of strong passwords, this is a great app for storing them all w/ easy user access. Interface is convenient both for adding new records and accessing stored information, and it's nice to be able to switch the password prompt option as desired (prompt when opening each record, or just when launching IDLock ). Nice templates with lots of fields for different types of records/information are a plus (logins, credit cards, notes, etc.), comes in very handy to have easy access to all my secure information without digging through purse/wallet every time I need a credit card number or other credentials. Also great in case of a lost or stolen card/wallet to have easy access to account info & contact numbers.
