Recent update has elevated AlarmFree to a whole new HA!mazing level. They have just added a feature that let's the alarm spontaneously alert the local police department with information about your location and your personal description! Ha!mazingI have also noticed that it comes with an option that allows you to take a picture of the asaillant without even taking the phone out of your pocket, holster or wherever else you mightve put it before the attack.
To make it even more Ha!mazing, it now comes pre-loaded with pepper spray that can bring the attacker down without you even lifting a finger!
Case in point: I was listening to the latest news recently on nion news network when suddenly. The news made me so sad that I started ing. I put my head between my laps and wept!. All of a sudden my cellphone let out this crazy alarm! I was like holy . What the hll! I quickly turned around and noticed a man with a  in his hand pointed to my ! He yelled! "your life or your money!" I quietly replied: "take my life and leave my money", because I can't imagine living without my freaqui money. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, there were everywhere. As he tried to run, I noticed splatter of pepper spray from my shirt pocket where my cellphone was. In seconds he was down, handcuffed and taken awayto jail!

So in one word, AlarmFree is HA!mazing!

I would like to see an update on AlarmFree where triggering the alarm also triggers the camera to start taking photos which are automatically uploaded to a pre-defined email address in the users email. This would be a deterrent to real crime. You could then turn the iPhone around and say, "Hey, this camera is now sending your photo to the police, with the gps coordinates of where we are right now! MAYBE you can get away if you start running NOW!" Hey, that isn't bad, hooking it into the GPS coordinates and emailing the FBI or local 911 offices is a great idea. See what you could do about that and you could reasonably charge 5 or 10 for AlarmFree and the world would be at your door. Keep the photos running until you shut it off.

The picture of you holding the iphone of the alarm free thing is only a SUGGESTED USE when do u actually think your itouch/iphone against a mugger hmm? Uts ab overall good app. Once i left my desk to get a book from my classroom and i left my itouch on my desk. I usually get things like mechanical pencils stolen from me, i just turned on AlarmFree and placed my iphone on my desk. Then some fat kid in my class who takes stuff from everybody tries to yank my iphone abd then guess what! The alarm went off abd the teacher made him go to the office. I was wearin those sports shorts so i didnt have any pockets, this saved my iphone!

Hey, so we all agree this alarm is pretty useless right? It's true. But given it's shortcomings, it's design is pretty remarkable. 1. Look at it. It actually looks awesome as it lights up an blinks. I've already looked around here and there are not that many apps that look even this close to good. 2. It senses free fall. That's so awesome. It senses when iPhone or iPod touch is falling in mid air. We have a 1st here. So I have to give it 4 stars for ingenuity. Now, all we need it to do is have some kind of point and be of use. Maybe a redesign ala Apple TV "take 2?"

Everyone who is writing those mean reviews really ought not to. If the designer of AlarmFree read them he/she could be really offended. How would you feel if someone was saying all if those mean things to you. If you wish to share your opinion it is always better to do it with a some tact. By the way, an app cannot be "gay", the would can only be used to describe someone/something that is extremly bright and happy or a homosexual. I'm not saying AlarmFree is useful for everyday, but it was an interesting idea. It did not interest me,but who's to say that it won't interest you.

So the alarm goes off if you drop it. Its not going to make it hover in midair so you can catch it before it smashes into the ground!!!

But when I was walking in the alley behind my house watching spongebob, it saved my life. a man in a ski mask held a butter knive to my throat, luckily my ninja like reflexes made me flip through my 14 pages of apps and click alarm free the thug went running off in sheer terror, then i hurled my iphone like a ninja star and knocked him lifelessly to the ground and then i managed to have a cup of tea, read the paper ,call my mommy, document this in my journal, take a picture, finish watching spongebob, and call the police.....

then i woke up.

I went out boating the other day and I happen to leave AlarmFree running until I caught a 600 pound shark in my backyard and you know what????!?? My iPhone slipped out my pocket and hit the floor bouncing towards the ocean. As it hit the floor the alarm went off and I was quick enough to catch it! My screen broke completely but who cares????? At least I got my phone. :) AlarmFree IS WORTH IT 100%!!!!!

All of our sales force company supplied iPhones are installed with AlarmFree. It has saved the company thousands of dollars in dropped/lost iPhones! The loss rate has dropped over 97%. We went from an annual rate of 34 iPhones lost to just one. The dropped phone alarm is a godsend! Very ingenius! Just read the directions and set the sleep mode to override.

A choice of alarms would be nice but it's still fun to freak someone out!!!
But,
A mugger is going to attack and you say,
"you have under estimated the element of suprise!!!!!.........
As you turn the alarm on and wave a $400 dollar phone in his face! Now instead of just taking your money, now he has a fancy phone. Producers, mabye it should be a silent alarm to a friend/parent/police/ECT.

I'm a diabetic and am always afraid I will go hypoglycemic which can cause an inability to articulate and the ability to perform only simple functions sluggishly. This is perfect to let someone know I need help without having to push a lot of buttons--just the icon. Well done, folks.

This has been my favorite app since I first got my phone almost 2 years ago.i play it all day. Its useful too, cuz I haven't been mugged once in all that time and I know I have Alarm Free to thank.

I thought AlarmFree would respond on any drastic movement (like falling or beating off a stalker), which it does, just when its running which may not be when it drops out of your pocket. If AlarmFree can run in the background, or even somehow wake up the phone on detection then I would buy that as a safety measure since I'd hate to get up from sitting at lunch and drop my phone and not know.

It's not that the program is so useful, but that when you think about it is really a hilarious in-joke. Take out your Iphone at parties and explain AlarmFree in as serious a manner as you can muster. Wait for the reaction and viola, instant comedy.

I enjoy AlarmFree. I freaked out my brother with it. It's fun if you just walk up behind a person and set the volume all the way up. :D if you tap it crazily it will beep really fast. I don't know if that's what it's supposed to do. But it's fun.

If you can't get the attention of the bartender in a noisy bar, AlarmFree definitely does the trick. Also, if you need to get thrown out of a bar and can't, this will help.

You can put on then put your phone in a moveable object, such as a purse or backpack. That way you'll be able to tell if someone is trying to move it.

Since Apple won't let any 3rd party apps run in the background, doesn't this mean that for this to be useful you have to have AlarmFree up ALL THE TIME? And if you do, then you lose access to other features of the phone/iPod... Like making calls and listening to music...
So all in all, pretty much useless as-is right now, sorry

Other reviewers are right, this is pretty much a useless app, but it's pretty cool. It really works for trying to get others attention, and it's also fun. ...turn it on and leave your iPhone in a place where our friends could grab it, it they grab it quick enough, the alarm will be activated. The alarm is easily activated when you drop your iPhone too, I dropped it on a pillow to test it out : )

the thing that has always worried me about mobile devices is what if I drop it?
this is an easy solution, if I drop it, then it will beep!

This is hilarious! I use it against my sister when she, "is doing something wrong," regardless of if she actually is, and it's soo HiLaRiOuS!!!!!

Unless you are someone who gets all huffy at apps that DONT NEED A POiNt!!!! I would say get this.

I don't know why you would ever need AlarmFree, but it pretty much serves its purpose - you can tap the screen to turn the alarm on and off, and the alarm goes off if your device falls.
