What is the point of this? Me and 7 to 8 of my friends have never booked anything from NOVA/instagram page. It’s not worth your time.

The application part on IPhone is buggy. The section for notorious works does not scroll down and you can’t attach any photos.

You have to give your password to your Ingram through a portal on their site. I don’t like that there is no reason for NOVA to need my login information for my instagram

I am an established stylist with experience, I have worked for big magazines such as Vogue and yet I can’t get approved to use NOVA. Been waiting for my application to get approved for months. Waste of time. I even had some friends in the industry give me their phone# so that I can get approved and it doesn’t show up in my contact list. NOVA is straight trash.

Been waiting for weeks now on my application to be accepted. Not sure how else to interact with NOVA other than waiting for something to happen? How can I send in my referrals when none of my friends have been accepted to this app? Is there an actual app behind the application review screen? Looks like we will never know…

I applied well over a month and a half ago and I emailed support to ask why I hadn’t been approved. Even though I attached my entire website portfolio as well as my instagram where all of my photography goes, they told me my application was put on hold because I didn’t have “official client work attached to my application.” (which there isn’t even an option to put that stuff on your application other than your website…). I sent my website again through email in case the link was buggy on NOVA and asked how else they would want client work attached and have not heard from them again since. The approval process makes no sense.

It’s been 2 months since I have downloaded NOVA and my application is still “Under Review”. Not declined or approved just in this limbo. Don’t waste your time with this amateur app

Can’t even finish the application process because it’s stuck on “is there anything else we should know about you “ it just freezes there’s 0 for function.

everyone else? good luck getting your application approved. I’m sure this is a fantastic app but none of my friends nor I working in other fields have had our applications approved despite submitting early. it already feels super cliquey to see the same genre of creative hyping these guys up on social media while i’ve been locked out for five days, there are facebook groups with less security than this that still accomplish the same level of exclusivity and anti-spam. not a great look for a job search app

the other two things i wanna point out are some of the only other interactive options i have which are the race selector and LGBTQ indicator.

if you’re gonna prompt us to choose a race, and just one, you’re going to need some more specific options. if you’re asian, you have to decide between South and East, which, if you’re literally any other kind of asian, you know makes no sense.

the LGBTQ indicator is a fine idea, and I haven’t seen how it interacts with your public profile, but it does open up an uncomfortable conversation about hiring based on sexual orientation. you can make a similar argument for race, but I feel like this is a tad touchier and even as a member of the LGBTQ community I worry about the precedents that it could set, but again I don’t have access to NOVA and don’t know if it even matters.

you guys are doing god’s work making NOVA, and I’m certain that it will change how creative industries operate, but someone seriously needs to call you out on this application process

i’ve been sitting on an under review application for months now. look, i know not everyone can “get in” but how are the people who actually need jobs supposed to GET the jobs if they don’t have much experience? how is NOVA helping anyone who’s trying to come up in the industry? it doesn’t seem like it is. i bet there’s some genuine talent being turned away because of their lack of big client work. it seems like NOVA is only for those who already have the connections made in the first place.

if we have to wait on our application to be reviewed for this long, at least send an email notifying how long the process is going to take.

really think NOVA has some great potential to be helpful but rn i can’t help but feel like it’s only promoting the people who don’t need the jobs as bad.

there are brilliant people with small insta followings or local clients and not big ones!! pay attention to them too!

I will get selected for jobs but i’m managing like 12 social media apps at once. I need to know when someone messages me back about a job. Add notifications please. This is basic.

Cool concept, but I’ve struggled to to find quality opportunities that pay well. Hard to get a response from quality clients and a lot of the jobs aren’t paid or pay very low. Once in a while a unicorn opportunity will be listed, but rarely will you hear anything back. Maybe in the future there will be more opportunities on here, but for now, it’s a miss for me.

I’m using iPhone 13 mini and I can’t scroll up and down on the application, which is a problem when there’s overflow content, and the submit button on the “is there anything else we should know about you” page doesn’t do anything.

Edit: after cancelling NOVA / going forward and backward in the application process it started randomly working. Buggy nonetheless

everytime i scroll to look at jobs i can only go down to about 1 day ago before it refreshes and takes me back to the top. please fix this i want to be able to scroll past 1 day and see all the jobs like we could on IG

Got the this app app and quickly got a job! This platform is a game changer. It’s like instagram for linkedin. Finally a platform by creatives for creatives! I uploaded my portfolio, made connections with other creatives on NOVA and within days I had found a perfect job listing for me. NOVA makes it so easy to advertise yourself, and reach out to people in app or off app. With quick links to instagram and websites. Even when I’m not job searching I spend time on this app looking through other portfolios. This is going to be the next big thing!

Very excited to see the this app team has improved their platform with NOVA. I have been following this company since the instagram and I’ve always found they understand and cater to the needs of creatives. App UI looks very nice and I’m happy there’s finally a gig platform for me, I was getting very tired of displaying my portfolio on insta.

Hi! I love this app,
but one thing i would add is the ability to save your filtered settings when searching for gigs! So say i’m in LA, and i do photography and editing. if there was a way to save those filters when looking up gigs, that would be great! would save time:)

I discovered this app on IG last Christmas and have successfully been hired on multiple gigs from their postings on IG! I’m loving the new community on NOVA , it’s very user friendly and connects creatives all around the world. If I am traveling to Europe or Asia and need to find creatives, the search makes it so easy to find everyone and it’s linked to their social and website. The message section makes it super cool to communicate with Job hiring or networking. Great App!

Love everything the this app team has given the freelance creative industry! Would love to see some things implemented into NOVA soon :)

As a producer, our agency will fly contractors out from all over the US and it would be great to be able to post a job listing that shows up in every city so we’re able to see everyone available across the country.

Same goes for when we are looking to hire multiple positions for a gig - would love to be able to post that we’re looking for more than just one position.
