The scan again pop up is right across the description - so you can’t read if it’s a warning or it says it’s ok.

I’ve scanned all my confirmed gluten free food…every one of them came up as having gluten. I’m talking full-on gluten free brands like glutino. GlutenFreeScanner confirms the exact product and everything, but states it has gluten when it is certified as gluten free.

Deleted and reinstalled still not scanning

The first thing I tested GlutenFreeScanner on was a box of Ritz crackers. It said “Gluten Free”. I was surprised and went and got my glasses and read the very first ingredient in Ritz crackers is wheat flour. I reported it on GlutenFreeScanner , so maybe corrected now, but they were 0 for 1 on a very obvious wheat based product of a very popular brand.

This scanner scans anytime gluten free. I scanned animal crackers that have wheat and it was labeled as gluten free. Do not trust it!

I scanned a frozen meal that had pasta, and “wheat” clearly in the ingredients, and the scanner said it’s gluten free

Just scanned some Frosted Flakes and it came up as gluten free even though it has malt flavor in it. I immediately deleted GlutenFreeScanner as it has lost my trust.

I downloaded and paid for add free subscription. The first day, I didn’t have any issues with it. The second day, when I open GlutenFreeScanner , the scanner is just showing a black screen. I emailed them about the issue and no response to this day. It’s been a couple of days. Very poor customer service.

All four of my children plus my husband have celiac disease. I bought the annual subscription thinking we could all use it on our own phones with family sharing, but it is not shared with them. They still have the advertisements. I am very disappointed in that. I thought this would be a great backup option for them to check themselves as they learn the read labels independently. I don’t want to have to pay $120/year for us to all have the ad free version on our phones. Celiac grocery shopping is expensive enough as it is :(

So I was testing it out and I scanned my gator aid and it said it wasn’t gluten free but it also said some completely different drink so idk how it works but it seems pretty good because I scanned a bunch of other stuff that is all gluten free and it said it was. Please fix this.

1- I don’t see any indication that a gluten free product was “manufactured on equipment that also produce wheat or gluten products”
2- It would be good to indicate if the product is “certified gluten free” for celiac customers
3- Also would be great if GlutenFreeScanner maintained history of items that were scanned, be able to categorize history or search it and recommend alternatives. See Yuka app. for reference on some of these items.

So I’ve been gluten free for about 5 years now & sometimes stores or certain brands are good about labeling gluten free stuff. Other times, not so much. That’s why I downloaded GlutenFreeScanner because I’m a little tired of looking for those labels or reading ingredients. Just downloaded this one & scanned a few snacks & cereals. Not 100% accurate. This one cereal actually has a lot of gluten but GlutenFreeScanner told me that is was gluten free. GlutenFreeScanner does say that it is only a guide. So just beware. It might be accurate most of the time, but not all the time.

GlutenFreeScanner is so helpful I just gotDiagnosed with celiac disease and I had no clue what was gluten-free and what contains gluten I am loving GlutenFreeScanner so far but I don’t know if it works on other stuff or if it’s just food because some shampoos and body wash also contains gluten

GlutenFreeScanner is very basic. My 13-year old son has celiacs and has it on his phone for a quick reference tool. He is proactive by reading ingredients, but uses it to double-check, or to fill in the blanks that a food label maybe isn’t telling us. I use it also, and we love it!

I thought I had a problem with this GF app, and contacted customer service to help me resolve my problem. They identified my problem, not scanning the bar code for the food item.

GlutenFreeScanner is definitely better than other gluten-free scanners! When I’ve used others, most of the items I try and scan are “not recognized.” It can be frustrating but not with this scanner. So glad that I found.
