Don’t waste your time with the current version of this App!
After downloading and registering I discovered, like many others, that the app doesn’t work correctly most of the time and by some miracle when it does work the only options for “live” TV are AFN Sports and Sports 2. After contacting Defense Media Activity, I learned the news channel(s) are only available to those who reside on a military installation overseas. Not a great decision Defense Media Activity! You do understand that not all of your “customers” have the ability to live on a military installation? There are a lot of us that live on the economy.
Also I couldn’t get an answer on why the other AFN channels (Prime Atlantic, Prime Pacific, Movies, etc.) are not even an option to watch “live”. I thought the app was supposed to be equivalent to the programming offered via the AFN Decoder? I guess not.
Why won’t Defense Media Activity listen to their customers and fix the issues?

I recently got an AppleTV and the app is so bad. It still doesn’t show AFN Prime Atlantic or Pacific and navigating the app is confusing. I can see what is streaming live in the guide but I’m not sure how to actually watch. It doesn’t work like the Roku app where you select a channel and then it highlights the play icon. The guide is a joke with very little useful info. What’s showing on the “Food and Cooking Lifestyle” channel? Food and Cooking Programming. That’s all you get. You have to tune in, somehow, to see what’s actually on. I’m not sure why there’s a guide at all if it doesn’t tell you what’s on.
Infuriating app for all of the advertising they do.

We’re in TLF off base in Japan, having just moved out of our off base house here. I’m pretty sure we used the AFN Now app occasionally on our FireTv Stick. I downloaded it to my IPad hoping to watch it here. Nope. When I search for the shows I watched using a VPN in my off-base house, I get an error message that that content isn’t available in my location. There is next to nothing available via the app.
And why is it in portrait mode? Why not landscape? It’s irritating to try and navigate the log in and menu sideways.
