No free 7-day as advertised

Light said that you could try it for 7 days for free. I was charged the 19.99. I canceled it within a few minutes of figuring out it wasn’t for me. It said I can still use it until Dec 09! I should have gotten a refund. I’ll be disputing the charge on my credit card as fraud!

Unsure

What/why is there no meal plan? What am I a grocery store that I have everything in stock for the daily meal. And what is it with this daily fasting in the middle of a work day? I can do fasting but while I’m sleeping. My job is too strenuous, I need nutrition to make it through a work shift. I haven’t started day one, just downloaded it but now I’m not sure.

Update: Day 14 - Meal plans nonexistent. Some meals look/sound delicious but I can’t plan as I don’t have most ingredients on hand. As for the fasting I look ahead what is planned/suggested for my next meal. If I see fasting for 5 hours I will start asap. What I mean is if my lunch break is at 1100, I will start fasting 5 hours earlier. That I can manage but going 5 hours after breakfast to another 5 hours until dinner that’s 10 hours of fasting NO WAY! The exercises may not include cardio but I will add in a few minutes on top. Doing that 3 times a day I can handle. I’m starting to feel better about myself.

READ THE REVIEWS - THIS IS DISAPPOINTING

I wrote a really long review, but I can’t find it anywhere. I have been trying to contact customer service with no luck. It gives you meal suggestions, but does not give you shopping list, or a way to see meals in advance, so there is no way to prepare for meals. I have been using JustFit without realizing Light is from the same app developer, so I am paying for double the exercises with no way to cancel. Between the two I have spent $150 for basically nothing it’s interesting that customer service replies to random reviews but cannot answer an email. I usually read reviews before I buy an app, I’m upset I didn’t read the other reviews on this one first or I would have never signed up. I see the same complaints. I am having - they do not use your answers to the questionnaire so why bother doing it, there’s no way to plan for meals, and the exercises are repetitive. I feel like a sucker for paying for this!

Not what I expected

I’ve had this this app app for two weeks to test it out before a yearly purchase and this is what I have found. Three little workouts per day, 3 minutes each, no abdomen/core exercise included, Limited to the exact Same little exercises each day. Very boring! No diet or meal plan to be found. Only one food suggestion per day. The same four food no-no’s per day. The ability to add steps and change my weight, etc is not easy to manage. I don’t like the 3 to 5 hour fasting each day. I am hypoglycemic and not a fasting person and believe that in order to keep your metabolism strong you need three smartly portioned healthy meals and two small healthy snacks per day. Before paying $70 per year for Light check out FitOn and Nike Training Club.

Disgusting if I could give 0 stars I would

I currently do calorie counting through Light called ‘Lose It!’ It’s a wonderful app, Light lose it tells me I’ll reach my goal weight in 2024 . Light did not, I got this the beginning of December 2022 and it said I would lose over 100lbs by the beginning of march, day 1 it instructed me to eat only 350 calories for the whole day and do extreme exercise the rest of the day. As someone who in my teen year struggled with anorexia and other eating disorders and then turning to food for comfort this not a good way to lose weight for me. My weight and body image of myself is really hard for my mental health had I been in a bad mental state downloading it , it would not have been good, I feel like Light is promoting anorexia and it’s disgusting, you can lose weight as long as you eat food in moderation.

First time using an app like this

I love the lay out!
iI’s easy to understand, easy to follow.
I love the amount of time for each workout!
You can do more if you want, so when I have time I can do more. But I hate regular workouts, so this is probably going to be perfect for me.

Impossible to stop the auto-renewal

Even though the Terms of Agreement state that you can stop the auto-renewal billing from within your Settings, you will find that there’s absolutely nothing in your Settings to turn off automatic billing for subsequent periods.

I wanted to try Light out for just a month before committing to a longer period, but see (from my Apple Pay receipt) that it’s set for automatic renewal. There doesn’t seem to be a way to allow me to turn this auto-pay feature off. (I will be disputing this from my billing next month.)

Developers, when you respond, please don’t just say you’re working on this. Respond with how to turn the auto-renewal billing off.

Workout type selection

I’m really disappointed with the workout type selected. I opted for chair workout since for the time being my left foot is hurting and I can’t jump. Guess what from the get go the first workout was jumping. Sorry to say but your algorithm doesn’t work and Light doesn’t provide a manual way for the user to get rid of the workouts you can’t do. I would have been more then happy to pay the almost $80 for a year, if it would have worked. The design is pretty cool, but the actual management of the content for specific physical conditions needs programming improvement.

Need to allow for food sensitivity and allergies

The exercise program is gentle, but I definitely felt it. Also I have difficulty getting on and off the floor so will have to do those on another surface.
My main concern is the recipes that are offered to help with weight loss. So far I have found that I’m either highly sensitive or allergic to three of the four that have been recommended.

By

Unresponsive Support

I should have read the reviews. I’ve reached out to customer support but I’ve heard nothing. I thought I was signing up for a trial and I paid for a subscription. I have food allergies and I really need to be able to look at the menu as a whole not dissected into individual meals. I also have a family to feed and I’d like to know what I should buy more of that they would eat! Over all a very weak app. Disappointed.

By

Aging Beginner

I haven’t exercised in years due to having breast cancer. I have gotten overweight and out of shape for a 65-year-old woman. I hope that this is something that will help me gain my strength back and my endurance. I am so looking forward to a new beginning.

By

Needs some work

I liked the ease of use. The exercises weren’t specifically designed for me based on my answers to the questionnaire ( I have an ankle injury yet there was many load bearing exercises) would be nice to have a full meal plan too. Not just breakfast. Definitely an app that has potential.

By

Updating profile

I missed putting in the fact I have a bad knee. And it won’t let you go back and correct that after you’ve started your subscription. So take your time answering questions! Program is great though.

By

Exercise

My knee hurts bad and I’m in a little pain right now could you please let me do some chair exercises too I would really appreciate it thanks

Cancel

I have tried to cancel this 30 day membership about 30 seconds after I accidentally bought it. Contacted the customer service-no response. so I ended up paying for a 30 day membership and never used it. I’m trying to find out if I’m being charged for second 30 day membership even though I canceled. But I still haven’t heard from customer service. Not impressed.

By

Not user friendly

This seemed like it was going to be a good app. It wasn’t too expensive, so I bought it. You can’t do anything on it but follow a daily routine, which is fine, but I can’t find a place to cancel it or contact them outside of Apple email, which I don’t use. The developers really don’t want to be contacted, otherwise they would have to respond.

By

😄

I like the work outs it gives and it’s really easy to use. But there really should be an option to add food allergies because it keeps recommending food options that I’m allergic too.

By

Great app!!!!

Love Light….but was wondering if there was a way to sync Light to the same app on my iPhone???? Would be great if the progress/workouts were synced together????

By

Easy

Everything seems easy to do I just need to keep my motivation going!

By

Totally bad advertising

I tried 3 times to change workout to chair only. Have to delete app to change. Never was able to do get chair only. In fact was given floor or standing right off??????
Meal plans don’t take into account allergies or that I am intermittent faster. Started right off with Avocado toast. Allergic to avocado, I can eat GF bread but I DONT EAT BREAKFAST.
Glad I cancelled.

By

Quick and easy

II really enjoyed this quick and easy workout. Thank you so very much.

By

Great program

I like Light it is easy but challenging. I find myself being more consistent in doing the exercises, and eating better food. The fasting is easy I’m done before I realize it. Even though I’m retired I’m busy so work is no excuse for not keeping in shape.

By

Light exercise program

A non strenuous way to get back into shape. Add a 2 pound weight to burn more calories. If you have the two pound weight, definitely use!

By

Not what was promised

I was promised an exercise program designed for me. That’s not what I got. I have knee and hip issues that keep me from jumping or putting all my weight on my right side. At least three of the exercises in my first workout required the ability to do both. I’m not thrilled

By

Straight to it!

I’m sooo tired of these “free workouts” that are not free! This is the best, even though it’s only free for a trial period you get exercises tailored for you. I have already started and am enjoying the workouts. Some of the questions are too specific, for example, for health reasons I can’t eat red meat, eggs, onions, tomatoes, chocolate or garlic and I’m allergic to mushrooms, so the question about the type of diet you follow didn’t get a correct response. I eat vegan burgers, vegan hot dogs and vegan and “real chicken” , turkey and fish. Some days I drink water all day, some days, maybe just 1 or 2 bottles, I walk at least a mile each way on the days I do walk. Types of exercise you prefer to do could be multiple choice, I don’t want to do any jumping, but I also don’t want to use any equipment, these are just some suggestions, I didn’t give 5 stars because it’s advertised “free” and it’s only a week free trial, I’ll enjoy my free trial then back to the Y , which is free under my insurance plan, this was ideal because you can do these very quickly in your own home, without traveling anywhere, even though it’s not “free” , thank you for the opportunity to experience this, also you don’t have to give up any credit card information when you start your free trial! That was a added blessing.

No customer service number

I don’t think I’m gonna give this a great review because I’m trying to cancel the membership so far I signed up like two weeks ago. I think I use Light once so it’s really not benefiting me right now but there’s no way to call and cancel the membership and on Light like through app services when you read about it it just gives you an email but it tells you go to settings but there’s no settings in Light so it’s like they don’t want you to to delete it they don’t give you any way to get in touch with them to delete the account so I will report them to the Better Business Bureau if they don’t provide a customer service number not just an email so far I have not received any email back from them which leads me to believe that they’re going to charge me once the first three first month is over and I don’t want that I don’t want to be with a company that I can’t get in touch with

By

Dishonest

Light doesn’t have ‘in-app purchases’ - you have to BUY IT to see ANYTHING! After answering a million questions, BEFORE it shows you anything, you have to pick a plan to purchase (month by month, annual, etc) - and authorize payment. So there truly is NOT a ‘free 7-day trial’ - and per other reviews it’s about impossible to cancel. I would have happily paid a fee IF I knew it was something that would work for me - that I’d be capable of doing - which I figured I could decide on - after the ‘free trial’ but I won’t commit to a charge before I have a chance to even find out!?!

Totally dishonest advertising and portrayal of Light in my opinion. Esp since I don’t even know if once a person commits, are there OTHER charges that are what I’d truly consider ‘in app purchases’?? Very disappointing and surprising that Apple allows this type of deception in their App Store…

Meal planner option

Thank you making the changes to the meal planner. Having the ability to build a weekly shopping list is incredibly helpful. Also, I love the addition of swapping recipes. I do not eat fish and now I can customize the meal options to what I can eat.

I gave Light a five star rating because the recipes are terrific. I have enjoyed the food and am losing weight.

By

Complicated

I got it because it said it was free… then it wasn’t. It’s a subscription. Price when paying by 3 month or the whole year isn’t bad, however… there is no ability to meal plan for the week. You can see the groceries needed for their proposed plans, but am unable to see them for the week. I don’t live a lifestyle that allows me to go shopping daily for what I need… and this doesn’t let me swap out meals for the week… I am on a tight budget but want to work on my body for health… this just won’t cut it. Exercises look good, just not a feasible app… wish I could get my money back… 😭😭😭

80 year old response

I am an eighty year old female. I am in good health, but have not been exercising so these movements are a wonderful place to start strengthening my muscles at home. Thank you for putting this together for those of us who want to remain mobile.

By

Need more guidenace

I like Light but there is no way see what other type of exercises once you start your plan. Light need to give instruction on how to breath and what’s the correct form for an exercise. It giving chair exercises but if I a different type of exercises I can’r find them

By

Do not sign up for this, No way to Cancel

There is no way to cancel the auto renewal because there is no option under the subscription area of the iPhone. Can’t get any support from Light creator. I’ve seen another review that the developers responded to saying you can cancel the ought the subscription area of the phone but there is no option to cancel there is only 3 different options to subscribe and the pay rate. Don’t get sucked in like I did and am trying to get out of. Do not trust this developer because they are doing nothing to resolve this issue and just send you to Apple support to figure it out. In the meantime they get paid for the renewal and put no effort in to help with stopping the problem that more then just I have with their failure to help their customers.

By

Communication

I’m enjoying Light. the exercises are perfect and I enjoy how they are spread throughout the day. I would love to give Light 5 stars but I’ve reached out to customer service 3 times and never received a response. I was charged twice and wanted to know if either a refund were possible and if not can I gift the payment for my sister. Hope someone sees this review and reaches out to me soon!

By

Not Really Free

Just want to let others know that Light is not really free. You have to commit for how long you want to use their weight loss plan, first, before getting to see any of the plan. I had mostly been interested in the chair exercises they advertised. After you commit, then you get a free 7 day trial. I did not commit. You would probably have to hurry up and cancel before the trial ends.

By

My first day

My first day starts tomorrow at 6am the goal is to get in better shape, and live a cleaner life. With this program I feel that is possible. I will post updates through out the next 30 days with pics.

By

Unable to cancel subscription

Use caution when downloading this program. It has no free trial, it is an instant charge!! I am now trying to cancel this subscription which is next to impossible with the routes available to you. If their is anyone from this site who reads these, will you please cancel my subscription or reach out to me, I already paid for a 3 month subscription to my chagrin and do not want to pay for another.

Likeable

This workout is “a keeper”. Wish I had known more about the Just Fit app before I fell down “that Rabbit Hole”. It is important for the exercise app to take into consideration the age and limitations of the person that will be exercising like I am confident Light has.
Just Fit is a lot more fast paced and jumps right in with “planking” which is something you should not try straight out of the gate unless you have experience.
Light should be the “One” for those looking for a good start-up program.
