This game is great and all, but I have a few problems with it.
My first problem is that most of the guns are way too underpowered, and all of that power that is supposed to be in those guns is all put in the shotgun, revolver, and grenade launcher. What I want is all guns to be equally powerful.
My second problem is that you can rebirth an infinite amount of times. (I think) It kind of defeats the whole purpose of trying to survive, because when you die, all you have to do is watch a short ad and then you’re back up at max health.
My last problem is that the shotgun is way too overpowered. I know it can deal some real damage in real life, but once you get some upgrades and other stuff, you can basically tear through piles and piles of flesh.
TL:DR - Good game, but most guns are underpowered, you can just revive infinitely after you die, and please nerf the shotgun.

Great game, Glaring issues

It’s a really great game and my personal favorite for these types of hoard shooters, but it seems as though not a single dev has actually tested any characters and weapons, switching from a smg to the bat launcher may aswell just be switching difficulty, it’s insane how much harder it is just by switching to the bat or flame gun and it makes it feel like they couldn’t even bother to test them to make them atleast relatively all decent. The same can be said for some of the characters aswell however it’s definitely not as bad as the weapons it’s just laughable how easy it is win with the shotgun grenade launcher and shotgun, but near impossible to even get past 10 minutes with the bat gun or flame launcher without having an OP character or simply getting lucky.

Great game… but

There is two things I don’t like about this game. Number one is the xp points dropping on the floor and manually having to grab them. This is inconvenient and not as fun. I suggest having the xp simply go to your character after lying on the ground for a few seconds. Number two is how hard it is to get the second or third or fourth upgrade for a path. Sometimes I get the “vitality” upgrade at the beginning and only get the second upgrade when there is maybe two minutes left. I suggest making upgrades much more likely when they are part of an upgrade path you selected. Everything else in this game though is wonderful. Definitely my favorite mobile game.

Great game, needs some tweaking

This game is one of the best in its special niche genre because it offers great perks that have cool synergies, and it offers short enough game times for a bus ride or something like that. Also, any ads it shows are ones the player chooses to watch instead of random ads, so that’s quite nice. However, a couple of things bring down the experience slightly: The second boss is obnoxious, and its design completely clashes with how you’re supposed to play the game. The boss arena corrals you into one small area that quickly fills up with enemies, making it impossible to dodge, meaning you are forced to take damage and leave this arena, or else die. Also, this boss has a charge attack, where he runs towards you at high speeds. Since shooting your gun slows you down, if you are shooting at the wrong time, he will inevitably hit you since his hitbox is enormous and he charges such a distance. He should either be tweaked to be less powerful or removed entirely in my opinion. Secondly, I feel like the inclusion of unlimited respawns has removed a lot of the feeling of accomplishment that used to be in the game, since there are literally no penalties for dying anymore. I understand that the devs implemented this to make more money, but it hinders the satisfaction of beating a level.

A great “survivors” rougelite

I went on a stint of getting and playing every game similar to vampire survivors a bit ago and I am so surprised I didn’t hear of this game till now!? I will say as a free user; tons of ads. However, It is also nice to have the option to revive and get other options for free by watching said ads. It feels like your advertised to legitimately every 5 mins of game time. That being said, characters are cool, the upgrades seem cool. I enjoyed my lightening/summon build on Lilith with dual smgs. I want to try the other characters but yeah watching 5 straight mins of ads to be able to try them to, then be advertised to again every 5 mins in game seems a bit excessive. With these types of games, being distracted late game makes the game lose immersion and putting my phone down and doing something else during the ad time then coming back to the game 30sec later through 3 screens, definitely is a distraction

Meh.. yeah it's fun

It isn't that solid of a game but it's fun. The audio isn't producing sound properly. If there's a lot going on on the screen, the audio starts to cut out. Probably a multi channel output issue. So I just play with the music only. For the most part it's pretty easy to see yourself apart from the enemies and their bullets. I like the color differential for you sad the enemies. Helps a lot. But Sanger thing that in confused about is the rebirts.
I guess I have an infinite amount of continues? Anyway that mashed the game pretty easy to last 20 minutes. It is really fun for a free mobile game. Thigh I'm pretty sure the PC version on steam is a lot better. Only $5 on steam too. Thanks for the game devs. It's fun.

Slow burn, give it some time though

This is a great game, I thoroughly enjoy it. Definitely gives me nostalgia. As you progress through the 20 minutes of survival, you can stack some of your upgrades and create certain “builds.” *SPOILER ALERT* One of the upgrades you can acquire is a dragon egg, it takes 3 mins to hatch, but you can stack it’s abilities while it’s in the egg. It’s great, super fun. I love the “Lovecraftion” creatures that you have to eliminate, they are quite a few characters to chose to pick from, each with their own individual special abilities. There’s cosmetics as well, some are locked behind cash walls but are only .99¢, others are available to unlock by watching a lot of ads, but I believe it’s worth it. Over all it’s a fun game kinda give’s me Contra, Mighty Doom, and ETG vibes! Give it a try!

Fun but needs some improvement

The game itself is really solid. Level up mechanics are great and leads to a different experience each time you play the game. Every character is fun, and I got every achievement in the free version before I decided to buy the full version. But, the most fun character is the first one you get. This is solely due to the triple level up effect buff that she gets. It gives the player the most choice and allows for some crazy stuff fun shenanigans that you can experiment with in each new run. It alone accounts for the most replay ability value. This is why this buff should be available for every character in some way. Make it a random drop that, or add a new mini boss that could drop it for any character. Add a new difficulty that makes the addition balanced. The triple, or even just a double, effect makes each game far more chaotic (in a good way), and this would make an endless mode (which should be added irrespective of this review) even more fun.
Also wish there was a level 20 darkness. since the game itself is called 20 minutes till dawn it’s kinda weird the hardest difficulty is 15 and not 20.
Despite my gripes, the game already has hours upon hours of fun content to get lost in. Appreciated the Christmas monster costumes too, love Easter eggs like that. Really great game and look forward to updates to come.

Add a minimap and other things

This game can be really fun but I wish there was a map of some kind to let you know where you can go back for unpicked-up exp, tombs, etc. It gets really frustrating when a horde of enemies chases you away from a chest and then you don’t know where it is.
There should be a way to progress based on performance instead of just surviving for a fixed time period.
The boss arena barrier’s hitbox should be on contact to allow for more precise movement, more precision movement in general is welcome.
If a vs mode of some kind was implemented it would be pretty interesting.
I really like watching a certain number of ads as an alternative to in-app purchases I wish more games did that.

OK, but hear a Veteran Dad Gamer out.

This is the one lads, if you’re looking for a mobile rogue like bullet heaven you found it and so did I. Think Enter the Gungeon mixed with Vampire Survivors, but done right and clearly with a lot of love. The game right now is a tad simplistic and doesn’t take long to learn all of the combos of upgrades; but I hope we will be getting some nice content updates in the future. AS FOR THE ADS, you can watch one at the beginning of a round for two free upgrades but there are NONE forced on you, as far as I’ve seen. The cash shop seems fairly priced on the packages and the characters that you can buy are only a dollar. Also one last thing, I find it helpful to go in options and turn on contrast, makes a little outline appear on enemies and trees, they can get really hard to see when I’m pumping out 420^69 bullets a second.

What’s going on here?

This is one of my favorite games, but when I’m playing in the Temple and there’s a bunch of explosive ghouls coming at me and they set off, my character goes on the other side of the wall. At first I thought that’s part of the game, however my character is not moving at all, and it’s very difficult to maneuver which disables me to run away from the explosives ghouls. I think there’s a bit of a problem, I hope you guys will fix that soon, cause this level is very challenging and I love it, I hope to beat it! Yet it seems impossible.

Thanks for creating a great game! I love this game!

One of the worth while games on mobile

You know for a game that says it’s “inspired on vampire survivors” it does it better than most I’ve seen. It’s one of the few games that you can see what the devs were aiming for while also hitting it on the bullseye, with timed rounds for time limited schedule, while making gameplay simple yet keeping it fresh by rewarding the player with tokens even if you don’t defeat the level to improve the players arsenal. For anyone worrying about ads they are only the ones that you choose to have, like free revive, a starting item, and in-game currency.

All in all I’m glad I found this game

Such a good game, just one complaint

I’ve been waiting for another actually challenging mobile rouge-like. It’s nice and nostalgic and the character designs are really nice! The characters are fun and unique and the guns are all good in their own way.

Now here’s my complaint: I just wish there was more ways to heal, it’s super difficult to maintain health and the enemies are super overwhelming depending on what skills you pick. The health up buff is nice however adding an health-point, however I wished there was a little more than killing 500 enemies or surviving 90 seconds. However this game is still new so i’m not docking any points! Just a suggestion!

Fun and Challenging

I play a lot of rouge like survival games and was intrigued by the graphics of this game. With the pixelated art style set in a a lovecraftian type setting I got hooked really quick and stayed because of the game play.

I will say the amount of times you can die and have to watch ads to continue can really upset the flow once you get into a rhythm however the amount of unique upgrades does helps keep you engaged as you eventually get so leveled up that it does become even more fun to experiment with the upgrades they give you.

If your looking for a fun easy to pick up but hard to master rouge like game to play this one should definitely scratch that itch for you

So much fun!!!!

I love this game and see nothing wrong with it! It isn’t like those stereotypical mobile games where you need to watch a 30 seconds-1 minute adds and still have to watch adds even AFTER paying to not see any! You can choose to watch adds to gain rewards and you can choose from a variety of weapons and good skins that comes with pros and cons to get you thinking! The game really makes you need to think about what you need to do and requires a lot of skills. I also love the fact that there is a mini round for if you don’t have 20 minutes. I can’t wait for even more future updates!!!

Great but...

My main complaint is very simple. The controls are not very good in my opinion. Basically the entire left half of the screen is reserved for movement in the entire right side is reserved for aiming. This is a problem because my left hand is not very Good which makes Dexterous movements basically impossible. An option to customize or At least switch The sides would be nice since I’m currently playing The game by holding my phone upside down which is kinda inconvenient. Besides that though it’s pretty great the art style is fine and unique and the actual gameplay is also nice. Not the newest concept but it does what it sets out to do when it does it well.

It’s a blast 🤘🏽😜♥️

Fun graphics, love the simple palate and the selection of accent colors, fun power ups, a variety of weapons and characters to try, it scratches your “top down shooter” itch. Yes there are ads, but they’re placed in tasteful spots not hindering gameplay, if you’re good you won’t really need to watch an ad. I would love to have this on my Nintendo Switch.

The increase in difficulty with heavier hordes is fun, replay ability feels pretty high. Even after finding a hero that feels a little over powered, it’s still pretty fun and wouldn’t mind playing through with the other characters and weapons combos. The dragon egg and dragon are a tad big and can be mistaken as an enemy 😆 but that’s a tad bit of trade off for its assistance I guess.

One of the best but…

Aright so this game is one of the best mobile game I’ve played to this day it is fun fluid amazing the game design is amazing and fits the vibe it seems it is going for but… there are a few things that well makes it a little less fun such as the fact you can take damage out of nowhere when you are completely safe (I checked ok its not just me or anything) some of the characters abilities just don’t help and/or are just useless. weapons could all have a buff to them they sound cool but the only one I use cause it is just better is the revolver aright I'm done ranting now a small thing that I feel the game should have is a endless mode I have beaten the game and had this op build and its just gone plz ad a endless mode

NOTE FOR THE DEVELOPER:

This game is already one of my favorites, and I’m pretty selective. I won’t say anything about the shortage of power-ups since others have already done so. Now, I think some cool changes to the game would be to add a $1.99 price tag on the mobile app store, remove the in-game microtransactions, BUT leave the cosmetics in for purchase with the currency you get for playing the game. Additionally, add said cosmetics to the pc version. I speak for all modern “gamers” when I say we need more games that you only have to pay for once, and you get rewarded for playing by having unlockable cosmetics — no battle pass, no microtransactions, nothing. Im not sure if cross-platform progression is an option but that could be cool too. Otherwise, this game is ridiculously polished.

Amazing mobile roguelike

This game is crazy fun. The pacing of the upgrades is nice and ensures you don’t burnout by unlocking stuff too quickly. Haven’t unlocked any of the other stages but the base one is pretty cool by itself. The characters all seem to offer something different as far as run opportunities, like most roguelikes. I usually could care less about leaving a review on a mobile game, but this one honestly deserves it. Super amazing game. The game is addicting, but the knowledge of the 20 minute (or 10, if you’re playing the quick mode) timer keeps you aware of how much time you’re spending playing.
