I loved the original game and had loads of fun playing it over the years. This new version is not good. Tons of features and content are missing as well as over 100 heroes. The lack of power sources in this game makes the strategy boring and predictable, when there used to be relics and epics.
This game would be a whole lot better if everything was reintroduced from the old game and polished. At its current state, I wouldn’t recommend anyone spending too much time on it
I played from 2016 to the end of 2023 often near the top of many leaderboards. Overall I was quite active for a long period of time. Many will agree compared to the original dungeon boss title the game is very “bare-bones” content and it requires a Netflix sub to access. The game now is just a shell of what it once was and with the way the minimal content exists. People can use clickers and bots to play the game giving a majority of players less of a reason to play. Lack of PvP streaks and other negative changes made even the minimal content shell of a game worse and it is quite a shame. I suggest finding a different rpg game if that’s what you want to get into.
I absolutely love this game, never had any issues with the original and hadn’t had any issues with Respawned until a couple days ago.
Randomly one day I went to login, and the game did its little load in. All was fine, however upon getting to the loading bar screen I was struck was the bug. At exactly 50% loading my screen went black for half a second, and when it came back it said “Failed to connect to the server. Check your connection and try again.” Even though this is impossible because I have WiFi and cellular service, yet neither will work. I deleted the entire app, and tried to start fresh…same bug. I tried downloading DungeonBoss on another iPhone, and upon logging into my Netflix account with my save data….same bug. It’s almost as if I got kicked out of my account, because I can login with my brothers Netflix profile but then I have to start from the tutorial which I’m not about to do.
I JUST WANT MY ACCOUNT BACK
I’ve been playing since the beta started and it’s very clear the devs DGAF about this game. It took them 4 months to make any bug fixes and they pushed out the game in a broken state. Now there are still issues with the game and nothing will be done about it for the next year probably. It’s deja vú from OG DB, devs will kill their own game.
Hey guys I wrote this last year. Unfortunately it seems I was 100% right. The devs have abandoned the game. Very sad and to me it is unexplainable how these people continue to be paid to kill games.
This game was so much better before Netflix got involved. Now it's like they aren't investing and time or effort and just letting the old game coast along without anything new or even support for bugs and glitches. I've been having some problems and you have to be on hold to wait to talk to someone rather than just message tech support. And it's the same old recycled events every once in awhile. Netflix has cheapened this game and made it so much worse.
To be honest I remember playing the original game when I was younger and was hooked because of the constant progression and ability to farm and customize my characters builds with runes and the constant event calendars. Now 80% of the things I loved of the game have been taken away, given the game is still challenging, the choices in the game are now WAY to simple and doesn’t able you to progress at a good pass but rather a slow crawl and it’s rather annoying and makes me not want to play
I was playing from the original dungeon boss and in the new one they removed stamina, runes, and some characters. I think they only added one. The dark tank guy. It’s easier to upgrade characters or scene them to the max now. You can get these goblin dudes that might run if you don’t kill them fast enough. But Netflix needs you to buy their subscription thing and it honestly sad how much worse they made the game. They also let you get any character you want by doing stories, yes even the legendaries by doing easy quests. You don’t even need the summoning thing now. Why did Netflix buy Dungeon Boss? Idk.
The original was complete and very involved. Challenging to play and never boring. This version is now too simple, the challenge and heroic modes aren’t available to play, it’s missing the epics and runes that made the characters more customizable. I find now I just farm levels on auto to compete the same daily tasks over and over again. Also the events are too short and easy to compete with very little reward.
It’s ok and I’ll keep playing, but the developers need to finish or update this game if they want people to continue playing it.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy dungeon boss either way. But why did Netflix undo so many things that it had going prior to them purchasing it? Thinking back to the good old days of dungeon boss before Netflix came along, it saddens me to see the state of the game now. Though I understand that the devs of dungeon boss needed to make their moneys worth. I just wish Netflix would notice this game and show it some love and put some work into it. Maybe add back runes and different shops, such as the honor shop, which would make pvp ACTUALLY WORTH IT.
I played the original dungeon boss for a while, and once it was replaced by respawned, I didn’t play for some time until I got a Netflix subscription and downloaded the game.
I enjoy this new version of the game. The loot goblins, no stamina, no raid tickets, easier ascensions, and free2play are definitely positives of this new version of dungeon boss. It’s definitely grindy, but so was the old dungeon boss if you didn’t pay.
Something I would really like to see back are many of the characters that were lost in the transition from dungeon boss to respawned. More characters allowed for more team comps, etc that just made the game more fun and challenging. I would like to see many of those old characters back, and possibly new ones. In the time I have played respawned (which to be fair hasn’t been super long) I haven’t seen any new or old characters come back to the game. Also, I would like for there to be more events occur, other than the weekly dungeon events.
Overall, I really like the game, but I would like to see more involvement by the developers to continue adding new things, or else it could get boring after playing for a while.
I know there is still a summoning portal, but now that you can just play a few levels and simply unlock any character you want, really defeats the point of the portal. Getting legendary heroes in the portal used to be one of the greatest moments for me. Now every champion is just handed to you, for what little amount of champions is left. This game was my #1 favorite, so I’ll still keep up to date with it with some hope.
Overall the game is very nostalgic but there are some improvements that could be made one is definitely bringing back the runes it made the characters stronger now it seems like the characters are just weak. But I definitely love how the game still stays true to its original design and the story modes for each character makes it easier for you to get tokens for characters overall it’s a good game for all ages
I got this game when I was like 6 or something, and I made lots and lots of progress over that time. I see Netflix remade it and so I wanted to replay on my old account for some nostalgia. Unless I’m missing something I don’t believe it’s possible to recover my old account. Of course this is still a great game, but I can’t explore my old progress
This game was so good and I’ll admit it needs some improvement but the pure nostalgia and the fact that they didn’t change much from how it was made it so good. This is probably a personal thing but this game made me feel emotions I didn’t know was possible as stupid as it sounds. It’s a great game and I definitely recommend playing it. The only thing I would say they need to change or improve is adding more game modes like for example one where you have to fight against the class that counters you and you get some new kind of reward from it
I enjoyed Dungeon Boss when it was available to the public, no matter if it was crappy or not. I felt sadness when it shut down for this new game. I thought that the new game would be better for the public, but now I refuse to play it since it’s a part of Netflix. I can barely pay for Netflix and Dungeon Boss: Respawned should be for the public and not be Netflix-exclusive. My idea is to do what BTD6 did: Create two separate versions and let the Netflix-exclusive version have slightly more benefits.
So like 5 months ago I haven’t played dungeon boss in while you know but at half loading it say “.error.” That’s all it said then when I retried its says Error servers are down please connect to Wi-Fi” I know that’s not perfectly what it said but I do want my account back all tho you can’t cuz it’s a “RESPAWNED” it can save your data so for the people that are confused about it not saving the data of your account is that Netflix has bought this game it couldn’t save your data for inflation so I hope that answers your question all tho 1 star give back the old animations
I’ve been playing this game for years now, and I’ve always loved it! Now, with this Respawned version, they’ve not only got rid of the micro transactions, but they’ve made the graphics better and gameplay faster! Truly, this is a gem of epic proportions! Such a good game! 100% recommend! Although, if I could point out one small problem, it’s that you can’t link your Facebook account here, so basically, you can’t carry anything over from the previous game, but that didn’t bother me too much, mostly because grinding for characters is easy! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a Dungeon to Boss around!
At first I was put off by the Minecraft styled graphics, but I’ve really come to appreciate the overall look of the game. The characters are unique and the character building (although a bit grindy) yields useable rewards. I like this game.
I have been playing this game since the original version. It is an addicting dungeon crawler with a lot of personality. Respawned is the simpler, not pay to win version and some of the changes really go far to balance the gameplay. All characters can be found and upgraded based entirely on who you prioritize and less by chance.
The one downside to the game is that it needs more love from the devs. Few updates and additions have been added, and after many features of the original were removed, the gaps feel big sometimes. The fan base is dedicated, and the game is really hurting for those long awaited updates. Still fun, just has more room to grow and I hope the devs don’t forget about it.
Anyone who played the original DB remembers events, event calendars, and offers of gold keys for *just* $9.99! You might also remember logging in, playing until you ran out of stamina, then being asked to buy more to continue.
In DB respawned, there are quite literally no options for microtransactions - no stamina, no gem bundles, no hero tokens or evo boosts. There also aren’t runes, epics, materials/crafting (aside from evos), or half of the old heroes.
Character abilities are simpler, and new events promise the return of most (or all?) former characters. Without runes, the game is much more simpler, and it makes PVP more fun, giving attackers the ability to use fun teams. Granted, the current meta is mind-numbingly boring, but hopefully some changes or returning heroes will address that.
This is much more of an idle game now. Heroes can be 5-starred through a new story system, which is slow but ultimately completely free. That sixth star can be grinded out through daily completetions, PWN tower rewards, PVP rewards, and the free events.
Personally, I enjoy DB respawned, playing it while I’m doing something else, auto-running dungeons and slowly processing my characters. I look forward to the return of old characters, and maybe even the introduction of new ones.
