Cats Soup Netflix Edition Reviews

I have LOVED this game. I’ve been playing nearly everyday for two or three months. The original version of this game is agonizing because of the ads you have to watch to play for free, so I was thrilled when I saw I could play for free without ads through Netflix. Until today.

I played this morning, as usual, and even got a new cat and broccoli station! Then, this afternoon, when I opened CatsSoupNetflixEdition again, absolutely nothing. Just trees. None of my over 15 cats were there, none of my stations and rest zones were there, none of my perfectly curated rooms and silly cat nicknames were there. Everything I had done over the last few months had just vanished. And there’s nothing Netflix can do to retrieve my data.

I know it’s just a silly game, but I have put so much of my free time into this game. I cared about my cute little cat village. I feel like a little kid who just had their Lego tower stomped by the class bully. All my hard work just demolished without a trace. I didn’t even keep any screenshots.

I don’t know what’s wrong with this game’s coding, but I’m pretty sad about how it has ended. I can’t imagine playing it again at this time.

Great graphics, and the self-paced approach makes the game fun and relaxing. However, the lack of updates and unaddressed glitches by the developers has made the game obsolete. I recommend trying any other Netflix game by any other group of developers. This group obviously took the licensing money from Netflix to their bank and have checked out.

Secret Garden Bingo event is bugged and the devs + Netflix refused to look into the issue let alone fix it. We believe it’s a simple coding issue they could’ve fixed easily but they denied any issue and both sides (Netflix and C&S) were throwing the blame back and forth. I was told I had to contact the other team for the fix, which is a clear sign both sides don’t care about the game and only see it as a cash grab. Meanwhile the main C&S game fixes bugs quickly without hassle. It seems like C&S sold a version to Netflix for the cash and dropped all involvement while the Netflix side doesn’t know a thing about mobile games or how to fix them. If I created a game and sold a copy of it off, I’d still have enough pride in my creation to want to fix it if hundreds of people brought a major bug to my attention during a limited time event.

I needed a break from a lot of things and this was one of those things. I ALWAYS was saving my progress so I really had zero worries of losing anything. In general, all my game apps have given me back my data after deleting:( But this game? GONE. Vanished. My 100% collection of fur babies? Yeah, I just got that first starter one now 🥲💔. I spent MONTHS on this game , I’m fuming -.-

I regularly backed up my game on the cloud and yet one day, a couple hours after playing, all progress was lost. I was earning AU level currency. Support couldn’t give any straight answers, only “escalated” the situation but told me to keep checking occasionally to see if they had fixed it. They said I wouldn’t hear back unless they needed info. What info could they possibly need to access a cloud backup? I refuse to start over, and I’m disappointed enough to consider canceling Netflix.

I was obsessed with this game for two months. This is saying something for me considering I never ever play games and if I do they are played for a few days. I had gotten so far in the game that it is not even worth restarting. I am beyond upset and had over 15 cats. DO NOT DOWNLOAD if you plan on playing this game for more than a month. I guess its a fine game if you do not care to have saved progress.

I was disappointed don’t download this download the original 15$ a month nah when the original is better and free

Played this ad-free version with my Netflix sub every day before bed, had 30+ cats and loved it. Opened it up and found my progress gone, no option to reload cloud save, and the game glitched on my profile and unable to even start my village again. Apparently this is a common issue, and I’m frustrated.

i was loving it, with the no ads and not having to pay money for any extra features, but then it crashed and lost all of my progress. i was in the cat tower (which i never go in because it’s stupid and useless but i just wanted to construct a new floor so i could get the achievements) but then when i tried to get out of the cat tower the game completely crashed and lost all of my progress. the screen is stuck on a forest with trees and when i go to other netflix profiles, theirs are fine, but mine is the only one that’s messed up and it won’t go back to normal. i’m disappointed because i really enjoyed this game. this bug needs to be fixed because i’ve seen many others who have experienced the same thing.

Don’t get this get the original one it’s getting updates, has events, and has content coming and going often. And you don’t need Netflix.

Don’t play this you’ll lose all your progress which is tied to real world time passing. At some point the game kicked me out to a black screen and set me back to more or less the beginning of the game with no way to recover. This seems to happen a lot if you look at the other reviews. Not worth it, I regret playing this.

All progress gone when I got a new phone. Apparently you’re supposed to manually sync the game to the cloud in the support tab in the settings window before you open the game on your new phone…. Which is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Months down the drain. No chance of recovery. Very cool very normal. Customer service blamed me for not knowing about this caveat.

Maxed out the game and there is no new content like the original. Pretty much the only thing left is to dress the cats up and buy furniture. The gold is pointless because there are no buildings left to buy

Just tried logging on and all my cats and all my work I spent daily for the last year working to get I would love to get them back if possible I had so many pets too :((

I liked this game but don’t think I will be playing it anymore. I opened it to find a screen full of trees, and when I built the clearing, it was empty. I worked hard to fulfill the quests and was attached to my cats, so that was a shock. I looked in the reviews and saw that other people had had this problem too. This is more than the little bugs mentioned in the other reviews.

The game crashed when I tried to get out of the cat tower and then all my progress was lost. No way to recover even they said it was saved to cloud. Saw the same issue happened with other users few months ago. Looks like the bug was never fixed.

My whole save file was just randomly deleted one morning. I lost all of my cats and all of my progress.

I would give this a 5, but if a serious problem arises, there us no technical help available, Netflix tech support is unable to help. I recently lost *all* my progress. Just everything was gone. I contacted Netflix tech support and after asking a bunch of questions, they just told me that it wasn't a problem on their end and that I should contact CatsSoupNetflixEdition developers...but couldn't tell me how. When I finally found a way to contact them, they were completely unresponsive.

So, just know that you're on your own if you play this game.

I just downloaded this game. I’ve been playing for a week or so. I got pretty far had quite a few cats, money and other assets. The next time I opened it up, the game had been reset and everything I had acquired was gone. The game opened up as if it were a brand new game. Although I had saved my progress to the cloud, there was no way to retrieve it. I didn’t reinstall or open it on another device before the game reset. Either the Netflix server reset my game or the game reset itself. I contacted Netflix through their chat feature. I spent 45 minutes with them trying to get my game assets back. They were literally no help at all. The questions they asked were more relevant to the Netflix app and titles that were affected (give at least 3) they said. Not sure that really applies to the game in question. Their final question was who my service provider was. Again, not really relevant. I cannot recommend this game if there is the chance of a reset when you least expect it.

After the most recent update my game is completely gone. The game opens on a patch of trees and I’m unable to tap anything or even progress. Very disappointed; I put a lot of time into this game 😔

The game had its glitches but it was free and it was soothing in a mind numbing kind of way so I continued to log on periodically and build my village. Then today everything disappeared with no warning and the game started over from scratch. Couldn’t see any option to restore from cloud. Nope, it wasn’t fun enough to start over. Time to find another time waster.

What the heck! I’m so mad! I’ve been playing so long and have gotten so many cats, and it’s all gone! This game was so fun too, how disappointing. I have both versions, this Netflix version and the regular version. All I did was add another floor to my cat tower, and my screen bugged out, and sent me back to the main screen, but there was just trees, and all my beautiful, cute cats, that I’ve spent weeks and weeks decorating and leveling up, are all gone. I almost cried! A bunch of people are having this problem. I should really read the reviews before downloading apps…

I loved the original game, so when I saw the netflix, no ad version, I jumped on it. The ads are really what stopped me playing it. But it’s super buggy. I hit a wall when I installed the grabber game. It just kept saying “unstable internet connection” when I opened it, wouldn’t give me any coin for time away from the game, and wouldn’t update the daily challenges or the day of the week rewards at all. Disappointing, because it’s really the only netflix game that appeals to me.

I can’t even get the game to let me go past the user selection screen. I log into Netflix, and it crashes instantly.

It’s pretty common to see Netflix games that never get updated, despite some having game-breaking glitches that can perminantly soft lock the game, erase all your progress, or other equally bad bugs. However, this isn’t exactly like Netflix’s other games, since the original game is still being updated with more buildings, events, and general improvements. I don’t see any point in making a version of the game that will only become more insignificant and outdated as the original continues to be updated, so please, keep updating this game to include the content added in the original game. Otherwise, there’s no point to playing this version.

I have a feeling Netflix has given up on updating this game. There has not been a weekly or monthly challenge in a long time, and they haven’t asked me to save progress. They did this with another of my favorite games, not updating but not shutting it down for a couple of years now. This, like the other, is my favorite game. I am deeply disappointed that Netflix will not be continuing to support this amazing game.

Need more cat types tired of getting same over and over

This was such a cute game and although I have only played it for a day I was so into it and spent my time being active to gain coins and all. Suddenly I lost all my progress when I opened CatsSoupNetflixEdition again. I tried to delete CatsSoupNetflixEdition , logged out of my Netflix account and deleted Netflix, downloaded Netflix and logged in with the same account again, and downloaded catsandsoup from Netflix. Still nothing came up. I will download catsandsoup from the original creator now instead of from Netflix. So disappointed :(

It’s impossible to get the special cat’s gift. I have NEVER gotten one after a whole year of playing I always open the three gifts, there must be some type of bug that makes it impossible. There’s almost no events, compared to the non netflix version. Gaining gems and P points is a giant chore I have only unlocked two extras.

obnoxious shaking icons on side ruin game. I can see the red dots myself. I have vertigo. thanks for running what seemed like a good game because feature forcing is more important and people with disabilities aren't. a simple option not to shake icons is just unheard of. disable the stupid homebar. game center. 🙌🌐🫀🎗️💞

Pros:
- Time invested pays for things instead of ads (unfortunately capped, unlike ads)
- Opportunities to get stuff no longer available in the original

Cons:
- No claw machine Red Panda
- No hot air balloon Monkey
- No photo studio
- No baby cat
- No way to get event currency outside the random draw
- Rerolling skills is disproportionately expensive considering the difference in difficulty acquiring different gem types
- Play points are limited (unlike ads)

Overall, it’s fun, but it’s not as fun as the original. I think that adding the red panda and stuff would change my mind, though, since I kind of hate the claw machine mini game. Will edit my review if that happens.

A fun game but there has not been an update for over a month which is s little disappointing. I’ve completed all the objectives already and bored.

I found this game before the original so I checked out both. This one is definitely better in that it doesn’t ask you to spend real money. I deleted the original after 2 minutes and I’ve been playing this one for over a month. However, this one could still be a lot better with game balancing. Many items cost too many gems and furniture coins that are hard to get and not enough items utilize play points, so it’ll get to a point that I won’t play anymore. I also don’t want to upgrade for fear of losing my data like so many others experienced. Not that there are many updates.

It’s convenient not having any ads, but I really don’t like how slow the progress is because everything is capped. If I want to use all of my play points to buy gems I shouldn’t have to wait 14 hours.

I had been playing daily for 5 months. It occasionally has issues syncing the phone data with cloud data, so I regularly choose "cloud save" before i close CatsSoupNetflixEdition . Tonight, when i tried to "cloud save", I got an error message. I close the game & reopen it. Now I'm stuck on a screen of just trees, no cats. I uninstall & reinstall the game app, but now it treats me like a new player starting at the beginning with 1 cat. I guess my 5 months of grinding is all gone. Goodbye my 30+ hardworking cats.

Looking at other reviews, it seems like this issue happens often.

It’s been a couple months since the event in October and after updating CatsSoupNetflixEdition twice I still haven’t seen any new events. Is something wrong with my app or did the Netflix version of the game just get neglected? :( My friends play the non-netflix version of CatsSoupNetflixEdition and that version seems to have events every month..

Whoever make this game need to brush up on their UI design skill. It's not at all intuitive where players need to go to get things done. Why don't you make buttons for inventory with tabs? Why do I need to go all over the place for the daily stuff? Why do I have to go to gift shop for special building? Why do I have to tap the icon right underneath an item instead of the item itself to pick it up? Do you think the players are so dumb that you need to make a button to explain what Cat's gift is? That little screen also says the same sentence twice. Hooman or human, choose one and stick to your choice. Lastly, what do you think the player would feel when they open a chest and receive 8/10 of an item. You don't need this stupid trick from microtransactions game!

No new events, no new store items, no way to get event furniture in the future. It’s just the same 3 things and then you have nothing to do for an hour. It also takes way too long to level up foods and get new cats.

I was playing the non-Netflix version of this game, but I found this one so I started the new game with the Netflix version because it’s free of ads. I love this game overall, but the Netflix version crashes a lot, and the events are not refreshed properly. I hope the developers fix this. Once it’s fixed, I’ll give them a big 5 stars because the game itself is adorable and fun.

I love the original version of this game, so after completing it I was happy to learn of an ad gofres Netflix version, but unfortunately CatsSoupNetflixEdition immediately crashes when you select a Netflix profile with a pin lock which is pretty annoying. The game also isn’t as intuitive as the original, but I’m still happy to play ad free.

So when I first got this game I loved it (and still do) but one day I opened it and EVERYTHING WAS GONE. all my hard earned cats and money and faculty’s. So I deleted it and redownloaded it, and now I have to start over. But the graphics are adorable which Is why I gave it three stars. But if the developer(s) see this PLEASE fix the “delete everything glitch”

There’s an issue about this game where the in game time doesn’t move with actual time. For example some items asks me to wait for 8hr and when I come back after 8hr it’s still at 8hr mark. the in game time would be moving if you leave CatsSoupNetflixEdition open which should not be this way

It’s nice that you don’t have to watch ads and there’s no iaps but it’s missing a lot of the cool furniture from the original game and it doesn’t seem like there’s events with limited furniture.

I absolutely LOVE this game. I don’t think I can describe how much I do. I’ve told so many of my friends about it. I was confused as to why it had such low ratings compared to the other Cats & Soup (the Netflix version requires NO money and has NO ads). However, during the Secret Garden Bingo a glitch appeared and after the 11th bingo I can no longer access any more of the bigger prizes.

I genuinely tried to find where I could contact the developer/Netflix but I couldn’t find it (or it was too difficult to actually contact them). I thought it was just me so I deleted CatsSoupNetflixEdition and redownloaded it. To my surprise, one of the top reviews talked about the same thing.

It seems slightly petty to be upset over a virtual bingo card and its prizes, but this game genuinely made me look forward to 8 PM when I would get to do the achievements/bingo. But now it’s just me hoping the bingo is fixed.

This is such a relaxing game that I like logging into every night after work. The only real downfall with this game that I see is that I can’t play in landscape mode on me iPad. With such a large screen on an iPad Air, landscape mode is just more suitable for playing games. I hope the devs can make that slight adjustment because I think it would make the game a lot better to play on tablets and phones with larger screens. Other than that, it is a lovely game!

The game is fun and the cats adorable. I keep getting new cats but not new clothes, hats, accessories, friends, furniture, floors, walls, etc.
They say “not for sale” and haven’t had an update.
I still have Halloween and Christmas decorations and it’s the end of May! It’s only a matter of time before I run out of clothes and decorations and have naked cats running around!

Wish they would follow the same events in the other version of this game. After you acquire all the facilities there is little reason to continue playing. Even though the Netflix version has no ads, it’s not as fun to play because of the limited events it provides.

There’s coins, receipt points, gems, furniture coins (I call them cogs), and play points. It’s fun to have a variety in currency and uses, but it’s not balanced. Coins come every few seconds, play points for the time you’re online, and recipe points for when your cats take a rest (quite often). The negative comes in with the gems and cogs. They’re the most useful for big purchase items, but extremely slow to accumulate. The cogs are used for multiple decor areas, but only available via the claw machine, random presents, or by using up gems. The Netflix version is nice to not spend real money, but the payoff is very limited.

This game is overall wonderful! There are a few things I wish would change though. For starters, no matter how many times I delete CatsSoupNetflixEdition or restart the game, my data never deletes! I can’t restart the game so I’m stuck! Also, the game would be better with everything being cheaper. Most things cost more than an hour of my work!

Overall, this is a great game with a few fixable things. Would recommend for children and basically anyone!

If you open your game and your progress is gone- close out of CatsSoupNetflixEdition and restart your iPad / iPhone! This has happened to me quite a few times, where you open it and your clearing is gone and there’s only trees. It’s been fixed every time I just restarted my iPad. Nothing else works.

I like this game quite a lot, but towards the end there’s eventually nothing to do. I know the original game goes much further, has a lot more events, cooking stations, recipes, and a ton more items and furniture. However, I will probably never play the original game because it’s expensive and has a ton of ads. I rate this decently high because it’s included with Netflix and has no advertisements or micro transactions. I really hope they give it an update soon with some of the later recipes and cats.

A little glitchy and definitely could be more user friendly, but it’s adorable and fun

Fun game, cute design, but all day when I tap on the fishing pond or the claw machine it says there’s unstable wifi connection and I can’t play those mini games. I’ve redownloaded CatsSoupNetflixEdition , turned my phone all the way on and off, went on and off wifi, but nothing works. Sad I can’t enjoy the game as much when this issue seemingly popped out of nowhere!

This is definitely better than the OG version, which filled every possible nook and cranny with ads and IAP. Miles better. However, the changes they made to remove all the monetization mechanisms seems to have introduced numerous experience breaking bugs.

I like this game , it’s fun! But there’s an annoying thing where it will refresh CatsSoupNetflixEdition - most of the time when I hit the bottom left corner(very annoying when trying to collect soups)

I love this game, and i was happy to play it without the cost ,But i would like to know if we will ever get the updates the main game has.

It’s a super cute game where the grinding isn’t so bad even at higher levels, however I’ve been experiencing a new bug that is slowing everything down. I’m talking about not getting offline rewards, it happens randomly and that’s put this game at not so grindy to all of a sudden I have to keep it open 24/7 to see real progress. Hopefully the developers will get right on this

It's a very good game but when i get my money it still days the number I already had is this normal or is it a glitch? Please anybody if they know please tell me.

Love this game it’s very chill and cute however for the event I’ve been claiming some items and some items from the store but they don’t seem to be anywhere when I try to look for them. I’ve looked in the box and in the store inside the cats rooms but they aren’t there. Hopefully this is just a bug cause I would like my fire hydrant

Cats and Soup had 2 versions - regular and Netflix. I’m not a big fan of the regular, too many ads and promos. To get rid of that must pay over $50 which is substantial for an app game. The Netflix version is very much relaxing with no obnoxious ads and would play it more often. Until it glitched and lost a lot of progress. Customer service was ambiguous if this will be fixed. Reddit stated that this happens often and developers don’t care about the Netflix version. So I decided to stop playing both original and Netflix version. It was a good ride! Will miss it.

I like the fact it doesn't load adds like ever min or every hour sec
And its much easier
Only issue is it makes u sign in before playing but other then that its descent

This is the most imaginative and engaging cat game ever! It never gets old. There is so much going on all the time, and the artwork is fabulous. I do think the cat tower is not fun at all, and I hardly ever go there.

It’s a free game and I love it so far. The reviewers must be new to gaming because it is very simple to figure out. I love cats and love how cute this game is! 🥰

Totally addicting and so adorable. Tried the free version to see the difference, and the Netflix version without ads is much preferable!

So I really like this game it is super fun and cute but there is one tiny thing sometimes when I go to play the claw machine game and I grab the last prize and the machine refills it doesn't count my last prize and to play again I have to drop it and play again and it’s a little annoying other then that every thing is fine and I really enjoy the game

So much fun even for adults! My kids asked me why are you on the kitty game again? Because it’s relaxing! This Netflix version is amazing. Just hope that it has more seasonal events or games, PLEASE!

I have totally gotten hoked on this game it is soooo cute and so much fun and doesn’t require much work and as long as you have a Netflix subscription then the whole thing is free and has no adds whatsoever and you can’t buy anything in game so there is not that temptation for parents if you tried the other one and found out there is a bunch of creepy sex adds in it this is the way to go! Highly recommended!

When I say cat club I meen a bis run bye kids and if you want to save the panthers play and if you want to find cat club you will be on a wild goose chase but if you want to help the panthers donate a zoo for the panthers
