Never Again!

I gathered my friends for my birthday weekend, to celebrate at the Roots Picnic. The first day was so unacceptable, we didn't even return for the second day! Absolutely UNORGANIZED! The staff were treating and speaking to the patrons as if this was FREE concert! There was no clarity as to what you could bring and couldn't bring into the park. The rules changed every three seconds, unacceptable! People paid their money and expected better treatment and experience. Also, my group arrived early enough to get a good PICNIC spot...few hours later...it became standing room...people were running over the picnic participants, stepping on blankets and food; you could barely pick up your belongings. There needs to be a designated standing room section and a section where people could comfortably enjoy the concert on their blankets! The performers LAAATE! The sound system definitely not up to par. This was extremely disappointing!

The 2nd day of the Roots picnic was horrible!!!!! They had music coming from 2 stages at one time which impacted focus and made it where you cannot hear the artist on the main stage. The performers were extremely late!!!! The entry process was very random. Tons of people had large unbrellas and walked right in where others like myself had small calapsible umbrellas and could not bring them in. Security was picking and choosing which stuff to take which is unfair. You could not bring in park chairs and the grass was hard and uncut. There was soooooooooooooo much garbage from the previous night. Very nasty/dirty parkgrounds. Garbage was everywhere!!!!!!!! All staff members had different instructions on how to enter the park. No employees were on the same page with anything. This was the worst experience ever and we will NEVER RETURN TO SUCH CHAOS...EVER. The tickets were over priced for such a horrible experience. In addition, the ticket sales presentation was extremely misleading. Our tickets indicated a 2 day event when really they charged us $230 per ticket!!! We hated it!!!! Philly you've got much work to do!!!!!!!
