So I shopped at my Burbank grocery outlet tonight and overheard the cashier telling the customer ahead of me about this app and that he could get a five dollar coupon/discount for signing up. So when I got to the cashier I explained to him that I’ve never gotten my five dollars and I signed up a year ago. The cashier went on to explain to me that the app was brand new and that I must be confusing the app with emails. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m extremely tech savvy and I definitely know the difference between an app on my phone and an email that I get in my email account. But I could tell that he obviously didn’t know what he was talking about and I just said ‘oh OK I’ll check it out.’ Well I looked at the versions of this app and it’s not brand new! It was launched a year ago. So, I did know what I was talking about when I told him that I had signed up a year ago. So I’m still waiting for my five dollar discount. 🤷😡

I usually looked at weekly flyers on my iPads large screen before going to store. Now I can’t see the flyer on the website and must use the app with tiny UI. I’m now much less likely to check the weekly deals and therefor less likely to visit the stores.

Edit: I will no longer go to grocery outlet until they put the weekly sales on the website again. I’m also checking the website less since it’s been 2+ weeks since it was removed; so it may be a few months before I realize the weekly ads are back if it ever comes back.

Disaster of an app. No search function. It’s not like they have to start from scratch and figure out how to make a grocery app consumers like; there are multiple well rated grocery apps already out there as examples.

Some “genius” also thought it was a good idea to launch with only WA stores while making the app available for everyone…

Oh well. Wish them luck and hope they fix this app because GroceryOutlet’s can be great places to shop but the lack of a decent app makes alternative stores more convenient.
