Good evening, Two days ago, I unsuccessfully attempted to cook a turkey on my Pit Boss grill. My grill started normally without any problems. The blower, auger, and the igniter worked perfectly. I had the temperature set for 350 degrees. However, the temperature continued to keep rising. When it exceeded 800 degrees on the digital readout, the grill tripped off with error code "Her." After researching the Pit Boss manual, internet videos, and pellet grilling websites I thought that the problem could be fixed by completely cleaning the grill. I paid special attention to the fire pot and the internal temperature probe. I also emptied the pellet hopper, re-lit the grill, and burned off the remaining pellets in the auger tube. I then added new pellets to the hopper and re-lit the grill. Everything started up fine again. This time I had the temperature controller set for 300 degrees. After the grill reached 300, the temperature continued to climb again. After about 2 minutes the digital readout on the controller showed 835 degrees. Then the unit tripped off with the same error code "Her." I noticed that the analog temperature gauge on the top of the grill chest showed about 400 degrees. I think that the temperature controller may be bad. I'm not really sure, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I purchased this grill on January 4, 2020 from Academy (see attached receipt above). The label on the back of the pellet hopper on my grill indicates that it is model PB820D2, S/N HN724601900231. Went to use the smoker today, it started then it quite. Have lights at first then they quit. Do you have anyone that would service this in the Port Charlotte, Florida area?
I bought a pit boss ultimate about 1 year ago and it looks like the non stick has failed I have never used any metal any ideas?
Display on copper pit boss shows 220 degrees but internal is only 140 and I’m using smoke
I would like to purchase a heat shield without the searing slots cut in it. I just want a heat shield for my 1150 Pro series with no holes. Can I custom order one without the holes?

This new app doesn’t improve my grilling as promised it actually removes a bunch of functionality that the old “SMOKE IT” app had. I see no way to get the Graph-lytics or toggle on or off the smoke mode, I also no longer have control of the auger or anything else, at least I can still see and set the temperature… I think the worst part is it forced a grill update and the old app won’t connect now… I was really hoping for better not worse.

Please if you are going to change the app it’s supposed to be for a better one. This is a downgrade comparing with the Smoke It. You lack the graph of temperature and the probes and the ability of temp control on 10F increments and also it’s slow!!! I’m sad I did the “upgrade”

Loose controls compared to smoke it app. Does not show S setting. My grill says S with P0 setting but the app shows temp of 160 and says heating to 180. Very confusing. I can not go back to using the old app because the new app updated my grill. Super Disappointed!! Please help or show me what I’m missing.
