I joined HulahDatingapp and set up a profile. Minutes later I started getting a flood of texts from friends and family about them asking to “join my fleet”. I never consented or clicked a button saying to do so. That’s beyond intrusive and embarrassing. I immediately deleted it and I hope and pray my coworkers didn’t get a text either. But given HulahDatingapp just contacted all of my contacts WITHOUT MY CONSENT I’m about to have a weird week. I’m mortified. Online dating is meant to be private.

Great idea, we love making the dating space safer, especially for women. Unfortunately, in my experience, the execution is not there. HulahDatingapp is entirely unusable for me, and based off of what I have read a lot of others have the same experience. If I can even get it to open, it’ll only stay open for a few seconds before automatically closing, not allowing me to swipe or have any ongoing conversation. I have a new iPhone, and run into no problems like this with anything else. Super unfortunate because it’s really the only thing holding HulahDatingapp back for me, but considering it doesn’t allow me to use it or participate, it’s a 1 star from me (for now).

I downloaded HulahDatingapp yesterday and I already ran into a catfish; someone who created a fake profile and a fake female friend to back them up. The profile was already fishy, but the guy directed me to a throw-away Instagram account with a few followers and a completely different name as was shown on his Hulah profile. Without profile authentication, anyone can make as many dating profiles as they'd like without linking it to another social media account. The concept of HulahDatingapp is completely invalidated by leaving a huge vulnerability for catfish to take advantage of. Also, no one is using HulahDatingapp so the dating pool is microscopic.

HulahDatingapp is just like any other unreal dating app, using artistic pictures to trap you into sign up to gather as many of information as they can. Will you get match of course, but logarithmically only to keep you stuck. It’s just a stupid game to play people. I did even discuss with on of the associate about the issue that HulahDatingapp doesn’t support privacy as the REQUIRE users to get at least 2 of friends to write something about you to create a “safe community “ another thing to add to the suspicious information activity on HulahDatingapp. Finally, I would just advise not to get trapped in app has some of racial look to some of the user’s background. Safe your time information privacy and dignity. Glad to share this experience.

This seems like a good idea but not well executed. It asked for access to my contacts, which seems pretty standard to check if any are on HulahDatingapp . What it doesn’t tell you is it is giving them access to text your contacts an invite. And the ‘better guys’ quiz asks you about random people in your contact list and then texts them an invite that they have been endorsed without you knowing. Super embarrassing, I deleted my account immediately when I found out.

I like the concept of HulahDatingapp however I noticed a few issues that make me question it: 1. The distance filters don’t seem to work. Despite setting them to be less than 90 miles away, almost all of the people I’m seeing are from across the country. 2. Every guys job is listed as “dog groomer” - this makes me question whether any of these people are real or if they’re fake accounts created by HulahDatingapp creator to trick you into thinking there are people on HulahDatingapp .

First I would like to say that this concept is very cool and an absolute must in todays dating climate. It is VERY new and I’m sure once it gains traction it will flourish well. With that being said, I’m never one to leave bad reviews. But here are my qualms. I’ve had HulahDatingapp for maybe 6 weeks give or take and I haven’t received a single like. Which I genuinely feel like that seems it has to be a glitch. Unless not…then oof 🥲 but I realized it had to be because I set my location for the radius of 25 miles, to 50 miles, and to 100 miles and it says there aren’t any guys in these locations.
Secondly, I paid for a single month of premium to try it out-I’ve never subscribed to any dating app ever and so I thought this would be different. However apple charged me for another month when I didn’t want it. Because in my eyes now, I have paid $20 to use an app where no guys live near me to like/match with.

Again, great concept but it has its downfalls. I also didn’t appreciate that apple took another payment for me when I selected one time purchase.

I love the idea for HulahDatingapp, but I am struggling to make any changes to my main photo. The drag and drop is false- there is no dragging or dropping of anything. The full screen photos are abrasive and I don’t like that I can’t actually see other peoples profiles. It’s a great idea but needs a lot more work for usability.

I love this concept but HulahDatingapp keeps crashing. Anytime I try and update my profile it just crashes. The formatting on the photos is a little funky too and i had to do specific photos because of that which is a little disappointing. I really like the concept though and would love to try HulahDatingapp out if it stops crashing

I downloaded HulahDatingapp a day ago and got to use it once, then it stopped working all together, it doesn’t load. It shows me no matches, no anything, and won’t let me do the guy quiz cuz there is “ trouble connecting” i have good internet connection, I’ve restarted my phone, deleted HulahDatingapp and reinstalled it. It won’t work anymore. If anyone has any solution, please help 🥰

What an amazing idea and I like the simple setup with free space for your bio. It’s great that you have to write a message to like someone and matches expire unless you keep the convo going, simple solutions to a big issue on dating apps. The hype people idea is awesome! However, literally nothing on HulahDatingapp works. The people that liked my profile weren’t showing up unless I liked them back on the feed. I tried to use the video function with someone and it didn’t work whatsoever. Pictures come in sideways, all the people on my feed are out of my preference zone, I somehow endorsed an old colleague without knowing it (awkward and yikes!). I want to root for this which is why I waited to see if the new update made big changes, but they were minor. Being a new dating app I don’t expect a ton of people on it, but since HulahDatingapp doesn’t have basic functionality, it’s hard to see how anyone would stay on it either. There’s no point to HulahDatingapp at the moment. I wish you luck!

i think HulahDatingapp is a great concept and if HulahDatingapp was a little different, it would be my go-to dating app. butttt there are a couple things I would change. I think HulahDatingapp could look more simple and minimalist with less overlapping of graphics on the page. I think it would make the profiles themselves stand out more instead of being overwhelmed with the actual interface of HulahDatingapp . Also it definitely needs more users, if more was invested in marketing for HulahDatingapp I think they’d have way more users. I was impressed with the amount of college ages students on there since I feel like many of these apps don’t have as many people my age on them. I’m excited to see where HulahDatingapp goes!

I love the idea of HulahDatingapp and the premise seems to be working well for people. However, two things that aren’t mentioned to you before you download HulahDatingapp is 1. You can’t see who “likes” you without paying. So it seems like you can’t actually “match” with someone unless one of you pays to see the other’s like, making it pretty inaccessible unless you can pay. And 2. From what I can tell within HulahDatingapp , you cannot message with your matches unless you video chat with them first. I appreciate that the video chats are limited to 5 minutes, but it still seems like something that should be optional, not forced. Hopefully the concept can be improved in the future and make it easier for women to find decent men!

love the concept, so i downloaded HulahDatingapp yesterday. i tried to update my bio, but it keeps saying i’m a dog groomer. i began swiping only to find other dog groomers. i am actually not a dog groomer, even though it’s a cool job, i’m guessing these other folks are not either. assuming this is bug or delay or something.

I genuinely love the idea and thought put into HulahDatingapp. I’m hoping it starts to pick up more traction soon to get more users. I agree with other reviewers on the photos showing up with the weird zoomed in cropping and I had no idea how to properly look at them, if some tweaks are done to the profiles and messaging and more people are joining I’d come back for sure but there wasn’t really anyone if my area.

Could be an amazing app once more people join. Unfortunately still has a small selection of people to choose from, but there is a large age range which is nice. Only technical issue I had was fully viewing profiles, it would only let me tap through pictures and wouldn’t let me view the rest of the profile other than what’s immediately shown.

I’d like to start off saying this has a ton of potential.

Things I like
• no men trying to just get in your pants. The guys in here are ACTUALLY looking for a relationship and a future with someone.
•I like the community posting. And the option to be anonymous

Things I’m not found of
* not LGBTQ+ friendly. As a female. The ONLY option available for my potential partner is “male” and I like girls too. Or what if I identified as non binary. It’s not my favorite feature among HulahDatingapp
• not enough people on here yet to successfully meet your soul mate. It just needs more advertising.

I love how fun and easy it is to meet people! It makes me feel safer to be able to meet someone over video chat before meeting up with them in person and also makes it a quicker process 😍

I love the idea for HulahDatingapp, both as a ringleader and as a woman in the dating pool. Currently there aren't enough users for it to be usable, and HulahDatingapp still has a lot of glitches, but I am hopeful that as more people learn about it and start participating it will get even better :)

Already matched within a week! Definitely think Hulah is on to something here. Video chatting for a quick min is way easier that endless dms before going on a date

HulahDatingapp is great! Takes online dating to the next level by video chatting instead of just scrolling through a few pics and sentences on a profile. Revolutionized the online dating game!

I had a lot of success on this, if you’re a nice, genuine person, and your intentions are to eventually date, especially as a younger person, this is a place where you’ll be pleased by the honest conversations. Of course you’re going to get out what you put in, so if you’re casually browsing you’re not going to enjoy the limited time before a match expires, but for me it accelerated conversion away from HulahDatingapp and towards true connection.

Because I knew who messaged first I was more likely to get into a conversation with the person since I took more care into looking at someone’s profile.

Except for a few people (less than 1%), everyone was very respectful and didn’t form parasocial relationships with me.

This dating app makes finding someone so much easier!! You don’t have to jump through any hula hoops to find your person. Looking forward to more conversations with all different kinds of people from different walks of life. Sharing this with all my friends who are all over dating haha

This will not be a reliable review simply because I just started using HulahDatingapp , but they asked for a review already.
But here is my objective take so far:
1. It’s a great concept. I love the verifying aspect of HulahDatingapp , the fact that you can have people vouch for you gives you the ability to only seek out quality prospective dates, so mostly if not only quality women and men will be available on HulahDatingapp .
2. The downside: HulahDatingapp is still relatively new, it hasn’t gained massive momentum quite yet, so there’s a limited amount of people on it.

Another con: HulahDatingapp has a few minor glitches with simple things (type-o’s, buttons not working properly, etc.)

Summary: I am hopeful for the apps future, of the owner sticks with it, and off people give it enough of a chance for it to build solid momentum, it can become a great app, if not the best dating app 🙌🏽 hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.
I’d recommend to give it a shot!

As a guy, I can completely get behind a dating app with a premise like Hulah’s. For women, it it should help weed out all the bad apples, freeing up a lot of the guess work that would normally be involved.

I think this is an amazing idea, and I’m honestly a little bummed this never got off the ground sooner. Even still, I hope to see HulahDatingapp spread and to see more people using it, because as it stands right now, I honestly can’t find anybody who uses HulahDatingapp in my immediate area -or even my same state for that matter, and I’m in a bigger city area with my distance settings tuned to within 50 miles of myself!

Overall, I will keep HulahDatingapp installed for the meantime, and I will do what I can to promote it -albeit in the vastly limited- ways that I can.

The people on HulahDatingapp are MUCH higher quality than other dating apps I’ve used. Everyone seems serious about finding a real connection, and the endorsement system adds a level of trust that’s SO refreshing. It’s been great for me so far, and I’m excited to see where it leads. If you’re tired of the usual dating nonsense, then try it out. all the girls are actually quality on here and have jobs and life goals and arent your typical party girls 😂

App is super glitchy, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Not a lot of users in my location. Not nearly as intuitive or user friendly as the dating app competition. Hopefully the developers can sort through the issues and make HulahDatingapp into something fantastic.

I’ve been following HulahDatingapp since it was called “GOATdate”. I’m confident that the upgrades to the user experience, interface and technology will catapult HulahDatingapp to the upper echelon of dating apps.

Very easy to use and it’s very easy to find people to connect with. I could see this being an app that people use in the future more than Tinder, Bumble or Hinge.

Such a unique and innovative method of meeting and connecting with new people!

I’ve met the best cutest guys ever on HulahDatingapp. Usually it takes me 50 dates on other apps to meet a few people I like but I like 4/5 of the dates I’ve been on and had such a great time. Love that it’s woman driven and how fun it is and how it keeps getting better. Quality 💯

Honestly never been a fan of dating apps, but I gotta say...Hulah is where it’s at! Quality matches on a quality app. Can’t beat it!

Could be a great app. Worked for the first couples days no problem. But I’m now having issues where HulahDatingapp won’t even open and when it does it crashes a minute later. I’ve deleted and reinstalled to no avail.

I’ve tried all the dating apps out there and this is easily one of the best. You can tell a great deal of thought and effort went into this. Being able to actually see someone and do video chat date before the first one is amazing. Most of the time you’re just hoping the person actually looks like their pictures when you show up on a first date but this gets rid of all that stress.

Hulah is the best dating app I’ve used so far!! I feel very safe knowing the guys are endorsed by other women and that I can even message their ringleader asking about the guy. I also love that I can FaceTime my dates first before meeting in person! HulahDatingapp is a very fun and safe way to meet and date quality guys! Love love love Hulah! All girls should be on it and endorsing all the good men!

I love this dating app! Such a fun way to meet people. The video chatting was a bit intimidating at first but was really a cool way to break the ice.

HulahDatingapp has so many great features to help allow you to connect on a real level. You have friend endorsements, video clips and can setup meetings before actually going on a date. Truly a game changer! Plus the quality of people on HulahDatingapp is incredible. It doesn’t feel like you are going across dozens of fake and shallow profiles.

Also for an app so new, they have such a fast turn around time for fixing any issues that come up. Definitely feel like it’s the only app I’ve seen where meeting someone online can still feel “organic,” bc you get to know them through a trusted source. Love !!

I’m OBSESSED with HulahDatingapp! In a dating app world full of superficial matches, ghosting and no accountability it’s so great to have an app where women can bring their good guy friends to the spotlight. (And let’s me honest, it’s nice to have someone to ask a question or two if needed! And It feels more comforting to have a mutual connection with that person.) The accountability is also great. Having the video call helps determine chemistry early on and how serious someone is about finding and getting to know someone! 10/10 recommend!

Okay so if you are looking for quality people and a new approach to dating, HulahDatingapp is worth your time. I think the best part of HulahDatingapp is the exclusiveness. You have to apply to get in and HulahDatingapp only accepts quality members, so you know once you’re in you’ll meet other high quality people. I also like that it’s the "Raya for normal people” like yes you have to apply to get in but it’s not as focused on celebs as Raya! Another perk about it is the “no catfishing” approach. This is the only dating app that makes the users do a quick video chat (within HulahDatingapp ) before being able to communicate offline. Ummm GAME CHANGER! So yes, I highly recommend HulahDatingapp for anyone ready to meet their person! :)

I had a friend of mine that recommended Hula to me. I downloaded it and it was the best decision of my life. After having been countless multiple occasions dating apps have made me very skeptical.With HulahDatingapp, you are able to video chat before you meet in person giving that sense of security. Easy to use and different form other dating apps. I mean that in a good way. Easy to see who they are and even what their friends are saying about them! (Which is such a cool and unique feature I’ve never seen before)
Allows for a 5min conversation or can be set for longer which is also very nice to talk with who you are matching with. And you can set a date and time which works with both peoples schedules !
Has become my favorite dating app.
I encourage others to try it out.
