Hello! I’m a new user and as I was setting up my answers I saw the prompt “If I Could be Any other Nationality, I’d be…”. This is racist. As a person of color, the only people this benefits is the white majority. As a person of color who’s also a believer, this prompt dishonors the already fragile relationship that minorities have within the evangelical space. I have to wonder why it’s necessary to have this prompt at all? It’d take a lot longer than an app review to explain why this is problematic, but the fact that it’s even a prompt should ring some warning bells within the dev team if you’re trying to have a diverse audience. What’s the motivation behind answering this? If you’re trying to live up to the terms presented when entering SALT (making sure it’s a safe, respectful space) this is the exact opposite of those terms. Thank you!

I signed up for this app. I didn’t get anyone to talk to so I canceled in my Apple subscriptions. For two weeks they took out over $16 each week and would not refund my money and the entire time I was paying receive no one in SALT to talk to you. There is no way to go through and like people. I was very disappointed with their customer service because it is texting only and I paid money for nothing even though I canceled prior. I have been going back-and-forth with Apple and not getting anywhere and keep getting rejected for the refund. It is a rip off.

Used to be able to see someone's profile when I get likes. It was something different, something better than every other dating app. Now they're asking for money in order to keep doing so. From a business standpoint, why would you charge $30 a month? If I were to actually buy some premium subscription, why would I pay $30 when I could pay $35 for bumble or tinder premium, which have WAY more users, and will let me just use a filter to find Christians? It's so disappointing to see Christian dating apps having practices like this. Makes me feel that SALT is disingenuous. Sorry to sound overly critical and harsh but like cmon. It's so tiring.

Sanitized and intense criteria for making an account, including a prompt to describe your faith but only allows you 30 letters (not words, letters) if you have to much skin in your photos the administration lets you know. As a man I found this odd since there were no Lude photos. It alerts you if they deem your pictures too blurry, if they “unclear” face photos, group photos, sunglasses, or “might be found offensive by others”. They also alert you if they feel your profile answers are incomplete. With the prompt “adding a full stop is not a complete answer” I still don’t know what that means. But it makes it difficult to use. I only have so many photos on my phone to choose from. Christians love Christ, if I have my shoulders out in a photo I don’t think Christ would mind. You can’t filter ANYTHING without premium. Including age, and location and you can only go through 30 profiles per DAY. I’m a guy that’s 21 and in college so I’m not really gonna look into dating anyone over 24 and even that’s pushing it a bit. I’d also prefer to not date anyone that I would have to fly to see. It just doesn’t make sense. Its so limited without spending 16 dollars weekly or 30 dollar monthly and I’m just not going to spend that money when I haven’t had a chance to meet anyone on SALT. The bare minimum should be allowing someone to filter based on age especially when you’re going to cap the amount of profiles you can see that drastically. There is no point in a free version and offering it is misleading.

I think SALT is great for Christian dating but I’m really having a problem that the person filter system is behind a pay wall.

You only get shown a certain amount of people a day. As well, unless you pay, you can only mess one person a day. That’s fine, it’s slows you down and makes you focus on one person. My biggest issue with this fix number of people you are shown, most of them are out of state or the country. I have to pay money in order to filter by location. Out of 10-15 people I saw, only 3 lived within an hour of me. This practically makes the apps useless to have to pay for such a basic feature.

I had multiple matches with men in the “military.” Which turned out to be scammers, asking for money to be sent but through bitcoin?? Which isn’t even worth anything and is totally random. These scammers use pictures of men in their UNIFORM!!!

I’m disgusted because real American men wouldn’t scam a fellow American like this. It’s insulting. REAL soldiers are fighting for our freedom and these foreign scammers have the nerve to catfish and cheapen our military?? I’m actually sick about it.

these scammers know military lingo and talk about working in shifts and what life is like living “on base”. They knew about certain locations such as Camp Pendleton in San Diego. Not good!!!

The infiltrate is real!!

This is not the first time or only app this has happened to me on, should the profile ask for real ID somehow? There has to be a more protective way of screening people for these apps. PERIOD.

I used to have SALT a year or two ago. I enjoyed it so much I even got one of their bags. I was really surprised to install it and find that I cannot see my likes or rather I can only see 2 because of my free profile. For example if 8 men like my profile, since I only have the free profile and not the premium I can only see 2 of these matches. The premium runs (~$17 a week), (~$34 a month), (~$68 for 3months), (~$160 a year). It’s really disappointing because I’m paying for my college classes atm and I can’t afford the prices they are asking for right now. Im busy with work/school but I’m isolated in my rural area. I would like to meet other Christians but I can’t afford what they are asking for 💔.

I joined thinking this was an app that was different. It was Christ like. We’re children of God but that does not mean I’m not attracted to what I know I’m attracted to. Obesity is a disease. While I love the African and women of color I do not want to go through what I did years ago. There’s no worse feeling then feeling not worthy not included and uncomfortable based on race. I’m not racist. I want to be comfortable at all times. If you’re forcing m me only see large and women of color you really aren’t trying to work with your customers.
Thank you Lord for holding me back from purchasing another app that does everything that is opposite to what I’m looking for. I pray your app admin finds Christ not apples money.

I really like the fact this is a Christian dating app and there aren’t any pay walls, so far. However, to up your game and be in the same field as Holy, some changes will need to be made to guarantee there is no scammers or bots on your site. There is no verification process, so technically anyone or anything can make a profile. For the more mature dater, you’re slider stops at 55+. I’d like to be able to only seek people closer to my age and location. I’m not interested in people who are way beyond my age. I think if these two things are changed, it will be a step in the right direction. As it is, I’ve only seen one person in my location range, but way out of my age range, so I don’t believe SALT is currently for me. So, I’ll probably be moving on to Holy, who does verify every user and is working on allowing location preferences less than 60 miles.

I heard about this app on social media and decided to give it a try. I really like the profile setup—there are lots of options for hobbies and such, and they’re required—there’s no blank profiles with one picture like other dating apps!

However, I’m a woman who is almost six feet tall—in fact, I’m several inches taller than the average American man. Other apps allow you to set preferences to mostly see profiles of people of a certain height, which is wonderful for me. this app doesn’t have that option, and the number of profiles you see each day is limited. Therefore, there are many days where I don’t swipe right on a single profile because everyone I see is shorter than me (call me shallow, but my only two requirements in a relationship is that they love Jesus and are taller than me). I’m trying to stick with it, but I’m just not seeing anybody I’m interested in.

Honestly I’ve been looking for a good Christian dating app for a while… I just installed this today and to be honest I liked it so far. Seemed genuine. Until we get to the personal preference options… I get SALT is trying to get their moneys worth and what not, but paying… to change your age and country preferences shouldn’t be a thing. Tinder lets you change it without having to pay for premium. So I genuinely don’t get that. I understand paying premium to change other preferences, cause that’s being more specific… (For example if your preference is Catholic or Protestant people, then yes that’s understandable since you’re being more specific) but I’m a 19 year old woman that does not want to meet 50+ year olds from different countries on my page… it’s just weird! Giving this 3 stars, because it’s a hit or miss for me. I ended up deleting my account, I felt uncomfortable. This probably isn’t a problem for people that will pay for dating apps but it’s not really about the money but just how weird it can make someone feel.

I downloaded this because I was really excited for a Christian dating app. And it was great, while setting up my own profile and everything like that. Which is why I gave it 3 stars.
But the only thing that sucked was that there was literally only 3 people in my parameters of 50 miles…3..
Maybe there needs to be more advertising for SALT? I feel like it has alot to offer, but not enough people are using it because of that

this app has some great prompts for questions, and I like the simplicity of SALT . It should offer more options for selection to narrow down what we’re looking for. As a 33 year old woman, I am not interested in seeing 22 year old men. The other big negative for me is that most of my matches aren’t even remotely local. I’m talking 1,000 miles away in some cases. This is not realistic or convenient. Not a bad start, but needs some improvement.

I like SALT . They have a denomination filter (which is extremely important to me). Also, there’s a good bit of reformed/Calvinists on here so far which is pretty cool. I think if they could implement a more strict filter system and just make it so you can see currently online users, it’ll be much better. Plus, they just have to market more and get the word out more since they still have to grow their user base more. But overall, I like it. It’s pretty simple to use and I like the user interface.

I just downloaded SALT today and I love how much thought went thru creating SALT, all the questions, absolutely amazing and sets you apart from all other Christian dating apps! Here is what I suggest to make it better:

- Offer a trial period for ppl to get on SALT . This will not only attract new users which fixes the lack of user availability on SALT , but it also encourages people who want the paid features to keep their membership. Im hesitant to pay for an app if they dont offer a trial period. What if I hate it and I just threw my money away? With a trial, I’d get to test it first and happily keep my subscription if I liked it!

- Please allow us to search by more detailed characteristics. I want to be able to search by ethnicity, age, location and ppl who are non smokers/drinkers. I am in love with dark skin so I want to be able search by ethnicity because that’s my dating preference.

- Please let us add more then 4 pictures. Around 10 would be great!

Other than that, SALT has a lot of potential, great job guys!!!

this app has been a pleasure. I have not found anyone but, you can tell whoever runs SALT is Christian. That’s really big for me. This by far has been the best dating app I’ve been on. I really like the table talks, that is very helpful. I try to tune into every table talk. Listening to the tables also help me with my walk. Only problem is, as another comment mentioned, it’s hard to go from “matched” to an actual date. I don’t think that’s this app fault though. 🙏🏽

I like the idea of SALT so far, I love the variety and customization of the tags. I would love to see some “dealbreaker” or “can’t live without filters” so that you’re not constantly scrolling down to see if they have that one tag you don’t want. Other than that, it’s a great design!

I have had more luck connecting with women on this app than I have with any other app. Easy to navigate, very user-friendly. The only reason why I can’t give it 5 stars (yet) is because there is no location preference. Most people I meet are fantastic but they live in another state and there’s no setting to change it. Overall, I strongly recommend everyone to give SALT a chance!

this app is a great Christian dating app. Through it chances of finding ur girlfriend, boyfriend or future spouse are very good. I was on this app for a month or two and went out on one date before matching with my girlfriend. Next month it is our half year anniversary and it’s still going strong with God’s help. I highly recommend this app if your serious about dating and finding the one that God has for you. If your not serious about dating to find your future spouse or want a seasonal relationship then I don’t recommend you to sign up.

I’ve used other Christian dating apps before and the quality of men were all over the place. this app is different. It opens with encouraging scriptures and features a warm godly space to meet people, so genuine that if you’re faking your love for God and His people to get a date, you’ll quickly lose interest. These are very godly people. The set up is simple and the customer service attentive and responsive. Can’t beat the price for the volume of people you are matched with. 🙌🏾👏🏾

I feel like I’m actually getting in touch with genuine guys. They actually care, and they’re just as sweet as their profiles. Yes, I’ll delete when I find my one on here. This is a great app! I love that every time you open SALT it gives you Bible verse or encouraging words that relate to god. This is the one app that they do what’s called table conversations and it’s people giving encouragement like podcast. I didn’t realize how much I would like it. SALT is still new so not as many matches but everyone has been nice. So much I can say I love SALT . When you chat with potential matches you can alternate between the chat and the profile on in the same place! While messaging you can send short voice messages or pictures to get to know each other. This is one of the best Christian dating apps out there.

Being honest with what you’re looking for in a relationship! Guys be real with what you want and are looking for! If you aren’t sure and you’re undecided and you’re not a real genuine or serious person then don’t go on here! It takes work and being willing to be available to chat and communicate! Show your willingness to actually connect and be serious about a relationship! Don’t just message a little and then hope that things will work out to your liking.. also put in the work and also make sure you’re willing to do what it takes to have a real authentic dating relationship that ends up in marriage some day!

I really like how intentional this app is by asking questions and you can tell how much effort they put into SALT . I am thoroughly impressed! It seems you made SALT with the users’ wants and needs in mind. (I just hope I get some likes soon 😂.) I probably just have to wait until more people find out about it, then there will be more options. The marketing team needs to get to work! Love it already tho :)

this app has been the best app for dating that I have ever used! SALT is well laid out and diverse with question promps! SALT is definitely faith based which is very refreshing. You can post up to four photos, which is perfect because anything more might prompt people to only view the photos and not the bio. All I can say is I wish there were more people to be on SALT but I am sure that will not be a problem with how much people enjoy SALT !

I’ve only used a handful of Christian dating apps, and none of them were that great. The UI was too generic or boring, there wasn’t much room or opportunity for individuality when it came to profiles, and they felt outdated; even though they may have been new.

this app on the other hand, has none of those issues. The UI is straightforward yet nice to look at, it really helps you individualize your profile and set yourself apart from other users, and you can feel that it’s new and refreshing. The team really took its time and care when crafting SALT !

Once SALT begins to gain some traction, and word of mouth spreads about it, I know this will be a great app for Christian’s to find love! Keep up the good work team!

My favorite thing about the this app app is the name. It's so wonderfully obvious as it relates to scripture (Matthew 5:13, “You are the this app of the earth. But if the this app loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”) Yet it can be easily missed if one isn't paying attention or is thinking of it incorrectly because of popular colloquialisms ("Don't be salty". In other words, "don't be upset or bitter".). I also love the videos one can watch if they’ve seen everyone within their preferences. It’s a wonderful and encouraging confirmation that they are not the only one in a single "holding period" in their life.

I’ve had a great experience using SALT ! I’ve connected with people globally since I travel a lot. I was able to get the premium features for some time, which I say is worth it! SALT attracts genuine people of faith. Of course, like any app, we have to use wisdom and discernment to get to know a person. I like how it has a social events feature where you can post threads to socialize so both men and women interact. They also host online prayer meetings through SALT !

I’d heard about SALT being popular in the UK and was excited when it was finally released in the US. I’m giving 5 stars because this is one of maybe only 2 dating apps specifically tailored for Christians that isn’t owned by a larger, secular business (to my knowledge). And, I like that it’s not just a dating app but seems to be an entire movement given its social media presence. It has a lot of potential, and I hope the successes and events in the UK can be replicated in the US.

I’m a new member. So far, SALT is starting off great. I received many likes. The admin has granted me premium for a month. I’m still exploring the site. I like the setup, the questions are cool, (a lot of questions lol. I like that it’s a Christian app. It’s a little pricey for my budget so after the premium trial is over, I will use the free version. I haven’t spoken to anyone or made any friends or connections yet but I hope I will soon. Overall, nice app.

I am particular about the apps I choose. I wanted this one because it was a Christian dating app that doesn’t track you and respects your privacy. It also makes you start slow, but I stayed with it. After a week or two, I had ample matches including the man I will marry. Once the chemistry between me and my match was strong, We both deleted SALT . Thank you so much this app!

I love the question choices in SALT! It allows you to see someone’s personality. I feel like you get a feel of what’s important to someone and it’s a way for them to stand out. I like they don’t limit the amount of words you can use like other apps. Just joined but loving what I see! Thanks for creating a safe space for like minded Christians to meet!

SALT as a whole is a very Christ centered dating app which as a Christian I do appreciate. SALT is easy to use , very flexible and adaptive to a person unique personality. It gives you as the operator the chance of being creative and expressive with your personality make up :) it allows you to review the users that you swiped on to either change your answer or review your feelings on him or her . It is also free which is a plus .

For once I’ve finally found a dating app that isn’t full of ads or trying to push you to get a subscription just to chat to anyone. On my second day of being on this app someone sent me a like and we matched now we are getting coffee next week Sunday. Good work this app and God bless SALT

I used Tinder, Bumble ect.
Even Upward has a really bad pay wall. I got a like in the first day using SALT . I was able to see who it was and see other people I have seen in the past. Deleting other accounts on apps.
I just hope they don’t make a huge pay wall, would love a monthly meet up or event maker.

It was a fairly easy app to use (I only had it for two weeks 😂) but I found that there were genuine Christian singles looking to date. I used to use bumble, and tinder. Tried upward and it didn’t work for me. But I met my boyfriend here and he’s an awesome man of God who encourages me to be the best version of me in God. Highly recommend it!

I’m blown away by SALT! Whether or not you’re looking to date right now, I highly recommend you join the Table talks contained in SALT. The Table discussions are extremely relevant, Christ focused, fun and lifegiving! Also, the customer service department (Jack and many others) does a great job of replying to support questions promptly and in detail. Thanks this app for being so amazing! Since downloading SALT, my life heart and soul have been strengthened and encouraged greatly.
