4.7 out of 5
This one is a miss - skip it

I have played all of the Blue Ox games and enjoyed them all so far. This particular game is half baked. There’s just not much here. Not sure how this has over 4 stars. The game functions in such a way that you will just end up creating the same few words over and over again or will resort to just swapping out vowels. There is no real incentive to come up with unique words and that’s where this game misses. It gets really repetitive and boring pretty quickly. Also “ras” is considered a word but not “fart” or “farted”? Come on! The word bank is very odd and excludes many common words which results in a lot of unnecessary twaddles. Also there is no way to see the game’s road map, meaning you can’t see how many locations there are to travel to and you can’t look back at where you’ve been which makes the leveling up seem arbitrary and doesn’t feel rewarding. This game feels unfinished and was clearly just pumped out to make a quick buck. Not what I have come to expect from Blue Ox. Bummer. Skip this one.

Addictive But Somewhat Frustrating

This game is all the good things that others have expressed, but it also has drawbacks. For one, there are few ‘rewards’ of coins or power tools along the way, just lots of “opportunities” to purchase same. All other games I play provide a small daily reward for checking-in, and bonus rewards during game play. Some levels are highly challenging (a good thing) but highly frustrating without power tools or coins to buy them (not a good thing). There also seems to be some stinginess when one runs out of lives, which take ½ hour to regenerate. I’ve used up all 5 lives, then closed out the game only to open it hours later and see that all 5 lives are still expired. As soon as I open the game, the first life is just beginning to regenerate. I’ve seen several times when I’m on Life #5 and it tells me I’m 26 minutes before the next life is available. Several minutes later when I’ve still not conquered that level, the clock resets back to 30 minutes until the next life is available. I have also been awarded 4 power tools upon reaching a new ‘destination’ only to have them all disappear after using just one. Also, the “Undo” tool is not available when one is at the end of the 5th life. Glitches or greediness? Either way, makes the game less pleasurable.

accessibility for people with vision loss

This game sounded really interesting when I read the description. I tried to download it, and it was successful. When I tried to open and play the game, my phone would freeze due to using a screen reader. I hope you all can provide easy access for those of us who are blind and visually impaired, in order for us to enjoy what Moxie has to offer as well. thanks in advance for trying to improve accessibility for all!

Disappointed in Updated Game

After finding this app several months ago, I found it to be so enjoyable. But with the newest update, it has definitely lost its appeal. Having to complete 1500 points every day of the month to attain the monthly bonus seems stingy. I’ve found myself losing interest in playing this app at all.

Could be a favorite with a few changes

I love Blue Ox games and I love this one, but as someone else noted, after the basic tutorial, there is no help to remember what the perks you earn do for you.

Also, way too sensitive on iPad. In trying to use my index finger to place a letter on the puzzle, the base of my thumb touched the iPad resulting in a Twaddle and I was never able to make a word on that line again. I am sure there probably is a way to undo a move, but as mentioned above, I did not know what feature would fix this.

I played the original this app also and was surprised when this version allowed you to use words more than once. Like someone else, I kind of miss the themes, but realize that you have already done that. I honestly think this game could be even better with easy help reminders of what you can do with the various features. Having to leave your game to go back to a tutorial, till you memorize the symbols, is just too time consuming and makes me play less out of frustration.

Nevertheless, I like the game immensely but am hoping for updates to help.

Love the game, but disappointed

I have reached the highest level so far. I knocked myself out to play enough games to earn 4000 points. I got three quarters of the way through when I got to the Azores level only to find there were no more puzzles. “Coming soon” is not real information! You get five stars when you keep up!

Scoring?

I like this game but the scoring doesn’t make sense to me. Right away my red hearts said “full” but I have no idea what that does or what it means. I like to do the daily puzzle but you can’t earn any points that way. I do several other puzzles each day but never earn any points. How many puzzles do you need to do to earn points? Could you explain the scoring somewhere?

Missing something

Maybe I don’t know how to play but this seems really hard. And I’m very good at word games. A few things: the rewards aren’t enough to keep me interested for long. And the word bank is lacking. Odd words seem to be acceptable but basic words get you a twaddle. This needs to be fixed. I’m at level 150 and feel like I’m going to be there forever. And I know I’m missing the excitement of traveling all over hill and dale. I don’t get the meaning of it all. Point me to a place where things can be explained more thoroughly. I want to love this game, I really do.

What Dictionary?

Overall, a great game, but several common words in standard dictionaries get twaddled. The most recent one is “ade.” This (and several others) actually is (are) in the dictionary. If we know what dictionary you are using, we can avoid unnecessary twaddles.
Overall though, lots of fun!

Makes you think!

I love this game because it truly makes you think and strategize as you place the letters. I enjoy both the daily challenge and the regular levels. I do wish there was one more goal on the daily challenge between 60 and a perfect 4 stars every day, usually about 120. It goes 20, 40, 60, 120. It would be nice to have one more goal, maybe 90? That said, it has become one of my favorite daily games.

Good but …

This is a pretty good word game. However, it does take a looooong time to earn any coins, unless you want to sit around and play for 3 hours while you accumulate words, which I seldom can do. It also takes a looooong time to reach a new level to earn some helpers. That said, so far no ads that I care nothing about, or are completely bogus, annoying, and lengthy. So, finally there is a game I CAN play without interruptions. Most of those ad apps I immediately delete.
One more thing. I got to one level that required 7 straight words to complete. One pass or miss and your shot to do that is gone. Ridiculous, considering how long it takes to earn any coins to help. You should at least earn 10 coins per round. After 20+ attempts I gave up and deleted Moxie .

I love this game!

I play it all the time. My husband can always tell because I am holding my tablet in portrait mode! I was wondering what if anything triggers the Word frenzy challenges. I have it on a couple of devices, okay 3. They are all on different levels. They don’t all do it at the same time. Is it a score thing? Some of them say weekend frenzy, but not all of my devices start the challenge. I am just curious, it is my favorite part. And of course, learning archaic Scottish farming words!🤣🤣

Non-acceptance of words that appear in dictionary

Have used many words that are valid dictionary words and game does not accept them. Why? What dictionary do you as creator follow? Consider myself to have excellent vocabulary & have used words you “twaddle”. Not quite fair & many times will cause loss of game. Explanation please!

My New Obsession

I stumbled across this game 3 days ago and absolutely love it! The levels can get challenging but I like that it’s not impossible to beat (I’m level 189 right now). I only wish there was a way to submit words to include in the game’s dictionary, because some real English words get “twaddled”.

Great game

If you’re a lover of word puzzles, then this game is for you! It’s completely free and there are no pop up ads. You can choose to watch ads for extra turns, but they aren’t mandatory. Also, the customer service is superb.

Riveting and Thought Provoking

I absolutely love this game…to the point, I’ve beaten ALL of the available levels. I’ve traveled to all of the currently available countries and I’ve beaten all of the archived daily challenge months.

I don’t know what to do with my life anymore…there’s a void I will somehow need to fill with something marginally acceptable as this app.

Excellent word game!

Keeps getting better! I like the latest change that allows you to replay the daily puzzle until you get the maximum number of keys. (Some days take a lot of tries!) I’m on level 606 and still love the game.

Love, love, love this game!

Love it! I play many word games, and I wasn’t sure what to expect with this app, but it’s smart and intriguing! There have been levels when I despaired of ever finishing, but I learn with every try. One huge quibble: I really hate the new Twaddle sound effect! Icky! Please change it! I like the rest of the sound effects, so I’d rather not have to play in silence, but that awful “wah wah” is just insulting. Please change it! That said, I’ll play on in silence if I have to, ‘cause I love this game!

Great game!

A smart and fun game, no popup ads, and each round is short enough and with enough variables to make the game constantly challenging—especially the higher up you go. This is my go-to waiting room time-passer now. Thanks!

New levels?

I have been playing this app since I found it a few months ago. In fact, I have played it so much that I’ve run out of levels (except for the daily ones). Just wondering when there will be new content added as I am hopelessly addicted now!
