Well done, but dislike the pig graphics

I’m so sorry if I sound petty, but I just couldn’t keep using EatingBuddy because the main graphics featuring a pig bothered me so much. Yes, the pig is cute, but as I'm recovering from an binge eating disorder, the suggestion of “eating like a pig” feels hurtful. This is just my opinion, and is the reason I removed it and won’t be using it. 😔

Just okay

Not as user friendly as I was hoping for. Don’t really like how it still feels like diet culture. I was hoping it would be more neutral and just help you document the facts about hunger and fullness, satisfaction and gentle nutrition.

Simple and Effective

I like EatingBuddy for being more mindful when I eat. I appreciate the notification to report my satiety several minutes after I eat. I like that it doesn’t require you to put in a ton of details, count calories, etc.

I do wish there was an option to log symptoms/post notes in between logged meals. That way I could keep better track of how certain foods make me feel after the fact.

I’m very appreciative of EatingBuddy. Thank you for creating it. 🙏

Great App! Check In?

Love EatingBuddy ! So quick and easy to log hunger and fullness levels. I really like the features which allow to log/journal as much or as little as you’d like for any eating experience.

I have one question: what is the “check in” feature and where do I find it?

Thanks!

To limited

There should be way more options then there are to choose from. For example (not hungry but eating anyways) and then it should ask u why ur eating even though ur not hungry.

Simple way to track hunger ques

Wanted a simple app to track hunger ques. This is it!

Love the Simplicity

I love the simplicity of EatingBuddy. Also, the developer is very responsive and helpful! Thank you 💙

Perfect

Just what I was looking for for “intuitive eating “. Simple and easy.

Helping

I needed to get control of my stress eating, and I hate counting calories in other apps. EatingBuddy seems to be helping me! It’s easy to use, and I love the stats about how I’m eating.

Simple app. Responsive support.

Simple, no frills app is easy to use and does just what it says in a straightforward way. I noticed a bug and contacted support. They fixed it within 48 hours.

Great mindful eating tracker

EatingBuddy has really helped me stay aware of why I’m eating and is great to be able to reflect on the quality of my diet. It’s smooth, simple, and easy to log. I love it, I just wish there were a few changes that would make things easier.
It’d be great to be able to change the timeline so that the most recent meal was at the top, maybe a setting for people to choose their preference. I wish there were more options for how to describe the amount specifically cup and tablespoon options. Also, it’d be nice to have to option to take a picture of the meal and add that to the food log, get a better visualization of it. Again, great app and no problems but some minor changes can make it even better. Thank you for making EatingBuddy!

🍽️✨🦋

I poked fun at a previous icon EatingBuddy used in my original review, but it’s always been a 5 star app. I’ve watched it grow and change through the updates and it just keeps getting saucier.

I have a few suggestions based on my own experience with logging long term; I think changing the order of each day’s timeline would be helpful so the last meal logged is on top to match how the days are ordered. And it’d be really cool if the [Serving] and [After Meal] drop down menu expanded on a 3D Touch or long press —I believe it’d make checking and changing the labels a lot quicker. I often find myself skipping accuracy just to get the food logged. But I suppose everything is 1 serving if you believe enough 😏

🍻

Actually free to use

I really appreciate that they let you use the main feature without paying. It’s always like “can I try EatingBuddy first before committing 20 bucks a month?” And the other apps always say “NO! We only did this for money so pay up.” but EatingBuddy politely lets you in and give you a nice freshly squeezed lemonade. It’s enjoyable to say the least.

Great app and really helps me tune in to my body

EatingBuddy is so intuitive and has a really clean layout. I love the simplicity and how easy it is to track meals. It’s helped me so much on my intuitive eating journey and listening to my body. I do wish the timeline was going in the reverse direction so most recent food showed at the bottom instead of the top but it just took some getting used to and it doesn’t bother me anymore.

Great App!

Overall, the simplicity of EatingBuddy is exactly what I needed! When learning to eat intuitively, having a simple app to track how I felt before a meal and then logging what I ate is great! The things it could use in addition are: an option to choose how you’re feeling *after* you eat, as well as being able to adjust the time of the food you log in case you can’t enter it right away when you’re eating. Overall, a great app with a great foundation!

Easy to use and valuable

This is a great app to use for keeping track and encouraging mindful eating.
I use it to keep track of medication, vitamins and water too.
It would be great if you could add a button for medication/vitamins and water. That way you needed always use a hunger level.
Or it might be great to come out with an app very similar to this for just medication vitamins and water, for some people. Occasionally I don’t remember just when I take a med, with this it really helps. But I prefer an all in one.
Anyway highly recommend!

Loving this app!

Clean visually appealing and easily understandable layout. Straightforward to use which makes me want to use it and not think of checking in as an onerous chore. Love the post meal reminder. Only change would be to have the ability to set a reminder for regular check-ins. Keep up the good work!

Update: continue to enjoy EatingBuddy . Thanks for the addition of reminders for regular check-ins. As I continue to use EatingBuddy , I find I would appreciate if EatingBuddy integrated with Apple Health to pull hydration and workout data since I think that impact eating patterns.

Very helpful :)

I really like EatingBuddy! I have been trying to eat intuitively for years, but I still often find myself eating chaotically or falling back into restrictive eating patterns.

This helps me to reflect on my eating without becoming obsessive. It has even motivated me to cook more, especially because of the photo upload feature. I love seeing the timeline filled with photos of meals I cooked.

My only suggestion would be to change the word “Satisfied” on the fullness scale to something else like “Slightly full” or “Satiated”. IMHO, satisfaction has more to do with mood and taste rather than actual fullness level.

Great Start!

EatingBuddy is just what I was looking for to bring mindfulness to my eating patterns while still being a simple design. All the other apps try to do too much and this does just enough. A few issues, the dates for my timeline are a day behind (example, it’s Saturday but it logs it as Friday) and there are no settings to adjust this. Additionally, I wish there was an option to select how I’m feeling without logging my meals. I think for people who struggle with emotional eating, it would be nice just to track their hunger levels throughout the day. This is a great start though, and I hope further updates will be released.

Eating Buddy is Well Name

This is a very useful, easy to use app. It helps me stop and take a moment to reflect on “am I hungry” before eating. You can check in throughout the day and look at end of day to see a summary of what you ate and drank. Many times, the summary has helped me realize I was better than I thought.
