Follow these steps to resolve intermittent ERG app issues:

Force Stop the ERG App
1. On android, goto "Settings" » click ERG app. » click "Force Stop".

Update ERG to the latest version on PlayStore

Clear ERG App Cache and Data:
1. On your device, goto "Settings" » click "Apps" » select "ERG app" » click "Storage" » click "Clear Data" option. This Clears both data and cache.
2. Relaunch ERG.

Fix ERG unable to contact server/ ERG internet connection errors on Android:

This issue is usually caused by your network. Here is how to fix:

On android, goto "Settings" » "Apps" or "Manage Apps" tab.
Click ERG » "Force Stop".
Next, goto "Storage" » "Clear Data".
Again, got ERG » "Mobile Data" » "Allow Background Data Usage".
Go back to "Settings" » "Connections" » "Mobile Network" » "Network Mode".
Now, put your network on 4G e.g. LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)
Relaunch ERG on android.

PHMSA has partnered with the National Library of Medicine to provide this free application as well as a version of the this app in its Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders (WISER) application. The 2020 version of the this app includes general revisions, reorganized general information pages, protective distance mapping updates, and the new ability to share data links through URLs.
