BUT match making is absolutely horrendous. I’m going against people who have WAY more cards available to them than I do. They are clearly 10 plus levels above me. There is no competing with them. It doesn’t matter if I get literally every card in order from lowest to highest or where they’re placed. I can’t beat cards that can merge with one another or place several cards across the board. I don’t have them. At best I can try to destroy the 1 cost cards IF I can get the one card I have that does that.
I have a few issues with the descriptions of some of the tiles. For example let’s say it says “if a card is played here it will be exchanged for one in your deck.” Before or after its flipped and before or after the ability/power? It’s after the flip before the ability btw, but there is literally no way to know that unless you had that tile before. You also get “you cannot play cards on turns 3 through 5 and 4 through 6” with way to often and way to often at the same time. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO FOR THAT TIME? I literally had a game where after turn 3 me and the other guy just got to stare at each other till turn 5. That shouldn’t be something that can happen.
I’ve only played for about an hour and already hit a paywall, but since it seems like it’s mostly just cosmetic I don’t see an issue with it. I do have issue with upgrading cards being the main way to unlock card. You run outta in game money good luck to you on unlocking anything for a bit.

I started playing the game around November of 2022 and the game was super addicting and I just kept wanting to play it. I started to buy the battle passes because I wanted to support the devs because I thought they really cared about the player base they have and truly wanted us to have fun. Fast forward to now, the devs have made horrible hame changes such as predatory advances to high price bundles and increasing the price of the low price bundles such as token tuesday. The game used to be easy to progress rewarding you the different currencies through the caches and giving you cards but now they have decreased the amount of currency you can get like making 100 token gain go to 50 and you can no longer gain series 4/5 cards from the caches. Decreasing the gain of tokens seems like they just want us to spend more money on the game for the high priced bundles to get series 4/5 cards which doesnt feel rewarding or satisfying anymore. I used to put tons of hours into the game but these changes makes all the effort I’m putting in feel like a waste of time and I can’t even imagine what it’s like for casual players. The only decent thing they have been doing is balance changes as it always shifts the meta and flow of the game which kept it fun.
To put it simple, it feels like the devs are making money hungry changes and just isn’t fun grinding anymore.

Basically what the title says. I NEVER leave reviews ever on games, but being that i’ve spent countless hours playing this game since December, i think i’ve invested enough to have a say in this. The new spotlight cache system is AWFUL for the longevity of this game. Not only is the credit amount required for obtaining just ONE spotlight cache absurd (around 6k), the fact that you even have the chance of getting a duplicate of a card you already had that converts into a variant of ANY card in your collection (meaning i have a chance of getting say… a hawkeye variant in place of an actual useable card) is absolutely horrendous and very gacha-esque. So then lets say i do get the card i wanted , which by the way, if i wanted to guarantee getting that card i would have needed to hoard 4 caches minimum, which the devs have now basically advocated for. Now that i’ve finally got the card i want, i have to wait potentially months for the next card i want and the cycle just continues. Regular caches give less (no gold and wayyy less tokens), in order for us to spend money on their terribly integrated system. This game has such a good foundation, and great legs to move forward on, but jesus christ the developers love to do everything in their power to stop the growth of this game. Pains me to say it, but pass on this game until this system is fixed.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND DEFINITELY DO NOT SPEND MONEY

The amount of cheating, biased game play, and bullying from other players who spend money + cheat as well as bullying from the developers who hate constructive feedback is off the charts. This game is plagued with issues so skip and got to any of the other marvel games.
In order to get to higher tiers they expect you to spend 100s of dollars. If you don’t you will reach a cap level in which you will face players who always get the one card combination in order to win while you do not. I know this cause I have tested it out consistently. My level is 73. Once I get there they will refuse to let me get higher level unless I spend money. Eff them. Do not download.
Update: Support is a joke. As mentioned above they will bully players. They assume you’re an idiot when you point out the faults and reply with a generic response on how to set up decks, which doesn’t help when you reach a certain point they force you to spend money to grow your decks. They also state they will take a look at the match, which is them going off a photo, and come back with the dumbest response you could imagine. Then the developers will change a cards ability to screw players over who try to work for that card. This is just a horrid game plagued with issues that the developers and support couldn’t care less about. Thank god it’s luster wore off fast.
I’ve been playing the game for about a week pretty regularly. Let’s start with the game mechanics. Honestly, they’re great. Simple, easy to learn, hard to master, perfect mix of strategy and tactics. The game is incredibly addictive, and really fun. So why the 1 star review? Well, unfortunately it’s pay to win and the your progress caps out really, really fast. I spent $30 early on because the game is definitely worth $30, but that being said if you want to build competitive decks and have access to a large card pool you can’t do that by simply playing (not in a realistic time frame) you’re looking at about 6 months to a year of several hour a day grinding for access to the full library and unfortunately it’s still not guaranteed at that point because of the way you acquire new cards. The purchases you can make exceed $100 and even that wouldn’t completely your collection. So in conclusion, the game is fun, but inaccessible to people who don’t want to spend a few grand on a phone game. However, if you have 4 or 5k to invest in the game you could have a good shot at a complete collection, and have a blast, but at that point you could have had the same amount of fun by investing less money in a play to win and just give that to your favorite charity.
Small addendum, the game has effectively two play modes. The more competitive mode crashes constantly and the que can be 5 mins plus.
I Dislike This 3000. This is a 2v1 game.

I made it to rank 71 and am over it. If you like barebones deck building simulators that lock away cards you need to be competitive in blind bags, and being crushed by unforgiving RNG gimmicks then this is the perfect app for you. This game forces everyone to play the same decks over and over and over and over because no one has the cards they need to change up their “strategies”. So you see the same cards and curves every monotonous match…which you’d think would give you an upper hand to beat the opponent’s deck except the board is also playing against you and there are so few ways to adapt when the location completely ruins any strategy you were attempting to set up. You only have 12 cards, so if a location shuffles 10 random cards into your hand what’s the point of even making a deck? Or when the TVA location pops up on location 3 and ends the game at round 4. Super fun guys. You’ll have soo much fun losing 90% of your matches by 1 single point in a lane. Oh and you can’t play your friends….just bots and random online players who snap at the start of every match or just run away. And the card effects that you earn by upgrading cards are broken. They just turn the card black or the effect doesn’t play at all. They really took their time with this one.
100% pay to win

Marvel Snap is a well designed card battler with loads of fan grabbing content and an excellent polish. They boast that you won’t have to pay to win and that all can come and earn what you’ll need to compete. That’s where it falls flat. If you aren’t paying, you aren’t upgrading fast enough, you aren’t getting the new cards and you aren’t progressing. Period. What’s worse is that the in app purchases are so weirdly restrictive that unless you’re ready to drop real money and on the regular, you can’t even get enough to justify the occasional buy in. And oh boy, You’ll see the people buying in. With the avatars and new power cards right out the gate. And while many of them will level out of your group level, there will always be more. And that’s what kills the game for me. The non-pay rewards are so slight as to be ridiculous (ooh boy 50 credits!!!) and you earn maybe one or two card every couple of weeks. Maybe, just maybe, one of them will be a good card. Maybe. You think that’s going to change when you progress to the next level of rewards (caches become reserves) but it’s the exact same rewards. Just a new name. So, yes. While you can’t come in and spend 100$ and get what you need to win, you better be prepared to spend 20-50 bucks a month if you want to keep winning. Fun while it lasted, tho
Game is ok, but has major game balance issues

The “Snap” mechanic to bluff your opponent into gambling away more of their points is inherently a bad idea when paired with a retreat mechanism, as this incentivizes players to not play out the game but rather quit early to decrease their losses because this game’s only game mode is ranked. This makes the ranked gameplay a slow grind of winning and losing 1 to 2 points and not being able to play games to fruition because it’s just a bad idea most of the time for you or your opponent to not retreat when the odds aren’t in your favor. On top of this, the entire game is random; you cannot obtain cards that would help you create the deck you want unless you pull them completely at random after several hours of grinding, you cannot determine if your deck will be hard countered by the random location effects that appear, and you can’t even determine if your card will be revealed before your opponents’ cards (I.e. spider woman’s effect activates on revealing a card and decreasing your opponent’s cards at that location by 1, but if your opponent played a card but won the coin toss of being revealed after your cards, the freshly played cards will not be affected by this debuff whereas if the coin flip were the other way around and the opponent’s cards were revealed first, those same cards would be affected by spider woman’s effects). The game has room for A LOT of improvement but is fun overall.

I was having a lot of fun with this game and it seemed fairly balanced at first. I was winning quite a lot of games early on, and I think this is done on purpose to draw people into the game. After a certain amount of time or level, you start being matched with people that have elite, paid for decks, and though I don’t have proof, the locations that are put in each match seem to specifically be counter intuitive to the deck you’re playing, and this really seems to be a big issue when specifically playing against people that have spent money on the game. I’ve went from a level 25 down to 13 in the span of 2 days because I’m constantly matched with people who simply have much more powerful decks than I do and have spent money on cards and boosters that are built around being counters to the free cards you get as you level up and upgrade your decks’ card art. I haven’t reviewed a game in a long time but I think people should be aware that this is yet another Disney/Marvel creation that is a pay to win project that is trying to push players to spend money as they feel they can’t keep up with their opponents after about a dozen matches into the game. Art is beautiful, animations are smooth, and this has potential to be fun in the long run, but if you’re looking to have fun without spending a penny, this game is not it.
Really sad review to make. The game promises to have “taken what is not fun out of the card game trope design” and it really seems to do that at first with some really innovative things. Sadly, come midgame that is a lie. It is the same old grindfest, the same old ‘forced to play decks you don’t want to’ to progress. Along with the toxic fomo, pay to progress, and expensive bundles you would have come to expect from mobile games. At the end of the day the worst part of this is the missions. Most of the above you can choose to ignore. But missions are basically the ONLY way for a casual player to progress in both collection, as well as the PAID season pass. The way the missions are designed, you have to play for quite a while EVERYDAY with decks you don’t want to play to progress AT ALL. It is completely toxic! I can understand the slow endgame grind, and I honestly like that it is hard to have a complete collection. They seem to release cards weekly to keep things spicy! And yet, what is the point! A casual player cannot play the decks they want if they want to progress at all, will never progress as the speed cards are released, and even the paid subscription that is most affordable requires HOURS of play DAILY to make any fair use of. So so so sad for a game that has seemed at first so promising.
Somewhat Fun Money Grab

The game itself is fun but the devs behind it are actively trying to get you to spend more and more money. You only face real people around 50% of the time and the bots are completely broken. They know what you are about to do and play the perfect counter cards that destroy your game. These bots will also play cards you don’t have in perfect ways to get you to want them bad enough to spend money. When you face real people they are only going to use meta decks so if you make a random deck to have fun be prepared to lose consistently. There are a ton of whales in this game that spend thousands of dollars to buy all cards and variants which the devs are catering to. Variant packs will cost anywhere from $5-$100 which can give you a card if you don’t have it. If you aren’t prepared to spend money it’s going to take you awhile to get a decent deck and along the way you’ll lose consistently to broken cards you don’t have. There are somewhere around 10 broken cards at any given time, which the devs take around 1-2 weeks to nerf them then buff other cards which breaks them. There aren’t any casual game modes its only ranked or a 1v1 battle which goes multiple rounds so there’s no incentive for people to not sweat or not use meta deck’s because everyone is trying to rank up and gather the rewards.
Disappointing reward roulette

I’ve been playing Marvel Snap from the get and it’s been an incredibly fun game. I’ve also spent some money on it for season passes and the like. Unfortunately, my enjoyment has now diminished over time due to new changes with the Collection Level. While I was ecstatic to see Spotlight Caches for new cards, I have been let down multiple times by getting a variant of a card I already have OR a repeat of a card I already own. While these are obviously random, the disappointment of not prioritizing locked cards is absolutely ridiculous. I just hit level 5,890 and received a key. I have one of the three featured cards and instead I received a card I already owned and a consolation prize of 1,000 collectors tokens, which isn’t even enough to buy a lower series card. It feels like a slap in the face to work towards a higher collection level, see the main possible pulls from the Spotlight Cache and ultimately be let down by getting a repeat. I understand it’s a random chance, but this has happened 5 times now where I did not pull 1 of 3 featured cards. The disappointment has become frustrating to the point where I will no longer buy season passes. Here’s to hoping they provide more direct ways to trying out new cards instead of being stuck with the same deck 3 months in a row.

I played this game pretty religiously when it first came out. It was fun the a quick fun way to have my favorite Marvel characters battle one another. New cards were coming a furious pace. It was exciting to see how my new cards would fit into strategic play. The monthly themes were fun even if I didn’t pay the extra 10 bucks that month. Leveled up into the 3-4 thousand then I moved on to another game no main reason just moved on. By shear luck I decided to start playing again at thr start time of the current monthly season. I even bought into it since I had all month to move up. Unfortunately it became very clear because I had not played in a long time I missed out on some very awesome cards which left me at disadvantage. I figured I would push thought it level up and gain cards to update my deck. Boy was I wrong. I have acquired only 3 cards in the three weeks I have been playing daily. As I level up all I receive are titles, avatars and variants. It appears to me the only way to get new cards is to lay down some serious coin and I just can’t justify it. How very disappointing this game has become a money grab. If you are a new player have fun I recommend it. However be warned you will reach a point where they just want your money to keep enjoying the game.

I would love to give this game five stars, genuinely. But for the past week, MARVEL SNAP has been almost completely unresponsive. While I can enter the game with no issue, anything that requires loading (battles, store purchases, growth rewards, etc.) only returns a “Something Went Wrong” message. As it stands, the only thing the game will allow me to do is upgrade cards, and these upgrades are reverted whenever I restart the game. Prior to this issue, I was loving this game. If this issue cannot be resolved, though, I may have to stop playing it altogether. For now, I’ve switched to the Steam version, but SNAP is a much better fit for mobile than PC gaming. It’s clear the developers have put a ton of effort and heart into this game (the fact that Wolfsbane is in it at all proves that). If the issues I’m experiencing can be resolved, I’ll gladly change this review to five stars or delete it altogether (if that’s possible, I’m not actually sure).
I’ll start off buy saying this game is lots of fun but there’s an issue when it comes to acquiring cards especially when your collector level gets higher. I have to spend credits (that take forever to earn or can be paid for) or gold (that take forever to earn or can be paid for) to upgrade my cards and open Collector’s Reserves and they don’t even guarantee new cards you don’t own yet. If you just happen to get collector’s tokens from the Collector’s Reserves you only get 100 and the cards in the shop cost approximately 5000 of them. There is clearly a huge incentive to pay for gold and credits in order to attempt and acquire new cards but yet it’s still not guaranteed even if you spend your hard earned money. We don’t want to have to play or pay to potentially earn titles or cosmetic variants (especially for cards we don’t use) from these packs that cost tons of credits to achieve. I think it makes much more sense that you should earn cards for increasing your collection level, and then be able to get cosmetics from Collector’s Reserves after you have obtained all the cards in the game. The only guaranteed way to earn cards are the Spotlight Caches which equals 1 cache every 120 collectors levels (It costs $30-$35 just to upgrade a card from common to infinity which would get you 31 levels so you would have to pay minimum $120 just to get a guaranteed card)
So much going or it but then fails on the seasons and upgrades

I bought a season of Black Panther on day 1 and played a lot to get as much out of it as possible. In the end I felt all the other seasonal games give you a ton more for the money. I got a new card back, and a few cards, not worth it especially considering I bought the boost and played a lot hoping to unlock a lot. I would say this is like buying a season pass to Diablo Immortal which I also felt was a huge letdown. The two season passes I recommend is Hearthstone Battlegrounds and Clash of Clans. You get so much value for the money with these two games. For now I will play Marvel Snap and not spend any money on it which is sad because the game is good and the developers deserve money but the season passes are greedy for the little you get for it. The other gripe is upgrading cards, I would like to turn this option off completely as all the animations that come up when you upgrade, or to let you know you upgraded, and for what, the card isn’t anymore powerful, you just get a nicer looking card but the time it takes to go through and upgrade cards with the only benefit of it being that the card looks nice, I would rather have the time back. Life is short don’t make us waste time on upgrades and streamline the game so you auto update our cards, and let us play the game.
Developers don’t deserve your money for this bad game

I’ve been playing this game since it came out and it has progressed very little due to so many flaws with the game. The matches are very uneven for both players due to the terrible locations that are created, and they only have two game modes that have terrible matchmaking. The rewards for the game aren’t worth playing consistently for large amounts of time. The daily rewards aren’t beneficial in any way, forcing you to want to buy unbalanced cards. IF you buy them, you still get paired up with bots that counter your deck 80 percent of the time. There’s no variety of game modes, making it boring over time. You level up cards that don’t benefit you; matchmaking is unbalanced; the graphics aren’t THAT cool; opponent’s counter decks are very common. The developers had a good concept but continue to fail with updates. UPDATE Now I realize once you reach even higher ranks, they patch your deck by putting you against counter decks/bots more often. Nothing about this game is worth playing, because why allow players to win when you can force them to buy cards. The game developers are terrible, just like this game.
UPDATE After you find a consistent winning deck, they will put you with counter decks way more often, because they’re terrible developers. For example, I saw a White Queen in a destroy deck, which makes absolutely no sense except to counter your last move.
Needs a slight adjustment

I’ve been playing marvel snap consistently for 2 months now and it is very fun! The idea of the game is incredible and I love the creativity you can have within the game. This game has the works of one of the best mobile games of all time, except for one aspect: the luck factor. Of course there is luck in every game and for the most part it doesn’t the gameplay at all. What I dislike about the luck is with the collection. I haven’t had an issue with collecting series 3 cards since I don’t have to worry about potentially collecting another copy of the same card. But the same can’t be said about series 4 and 5 cards. When you open a spotlight cache, there is a chance to get one that isn’t in the spotlight which I like. What I dislike is how those cards have the chance to be one of the series 4 and 5 cards that you already have. And these random ones are the worst in the game. I have collected Kang 3 times out of 25+ other series 4 and 5 cards I still need to collect. The odds of this happening are so low and it makes no sense why my luck is this bad. I have also collected 2 kitty prydes and 2 hit monkeys which is super disappointing. For compensation they give you 1000 collectors tokens which don’t even mean much to me at this stage since I don’t even have all the series 3 cards so I need to get those. This is the only problem to me which might seem like me just ranting but it really discourages me from continuing to play this game.
Pretty good game, but I was really disappointed

The game is quite fun and enjoyable, every character and location are unique and the method for unlocking cards is super fun and never gets to a tedious grind. The gameplay itself is both super simple to understand and strategy filled! I don’t mind too much that most character variants will cost money if you want, but my biggest gripe is that some of the characters (Like the new miles morales) cost money, via the season pass. Correct me if I’m wrong but he is not able to be obtained by free-to-play players, which really bugs me, especially when the add that made me get this game said “the only thing that costs money are aesthetics.” Also when you run out of daily challenges you don’t have much of a way to get XP, which in turn doesn’t give you an easy way to get card upgrades, which doesn’t allow much progression. That’s more minor, but this would be a nearly perfect game if you could just get all this game had to offer for free. Again aesthetics are fine to cost money, but taking away things like characters for some cash really turns me away, chances are I still will enjoy this game, but things like that have really turned me away from other games, please don’t let the same thing happen to marvel snap.
While I have immensely enjoyed the game, I must say the one of the issues I have are the repetitive nature of the cards you receive. I mean I do enjoy the different card face variations, does one really need 4 different copies of one card. Yes you boost the cards and change the looks but then you reach its max level and you get another version but with a different categorization. Can’t they actually get a different boost to what it already brings to the game or is that it. I’m at a point where I only boost cards just for the missions. I mean do I really want to boost another “Mantis” card to its max to get another exact copy to start again with no added bonuses to make it worthwhile. I’m for the different artist representations because some are really cool, but enough with the get the card to max status and for your troubles here’s another of the same exact copy to do it again. Also another thing is the cards that play for you, can they actually be made to make a positive play to win and not just screw you out of a turn and put you back from what was being stategized. I can’t remember how many times I’ve retreated when my strategy gets bamboozled because Ego or Agatha happens upon my board and I’m just left wondering why would you make that move. Anyways great game but maybe address these annoying issues. I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
Fun Game and Worth Playing. But….

When I first saw the trailer for this, I thought it looked fun and when I played it. I was surprised by how much I play this, the gameplay is the highlight of its entirety. It’s fast pace, it’s makes you strategize, and there are plenty of combinations with certain cards that can secure a win for you(if you know what you’re doing and play it right). But at the same time, it’s not perfect. It has flaws, the biggest being that there are times when I can clearly tell that I was against a bot. I’m sure there are real time players here, but imo, I was convinced that I was against bots more than anything. The second is the season pass, the pass it self isn’t worth it, and it cost 10$. When I saw this and the micro transactions in the store that have the variety cards this was a immediate red flag to me. Heck, variety cards are hard to come by and are only found in the season pass(I haven’t seen the pull pass in a while, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the premium pass for 10$). Overall: this is a fun game and the gameplay clearly shows, all it needs is more ways to get variety cards and have more of the rewards in the season pass for free. When that’s their, then this would be 4 to 5 stars definitely.
It’s ok lacks modes

by JJ_sunshine
When watching the game on the trailers, it makes the game seem like it’s very fast paced and exciting. Now I have the game and it’s not all that exciting. The game lacks game modes the main thing to upgrade to our deck is 3-D cards, which are not that big of reward of a upgrade. like I said earlier hopefully there will be modes. Some example of modes maybe story mode, or boss battles where you use all your cards in your deck to fight against someone like Dr. Doom, Thanos, Magneto, Kang, the Conqueror or Apocalypse. Also, I don’t like playing against live people all the time a CPU mode should be added, so you don’t have to rely on Wi-Fi to play the game every time. One thing I’m hoping is if you can upgrade your deck to add 2 to 4 more cards. Fingers crossed some of my ideas can be implemented. The game lacks allot of pizzazz. I gave it a three star because at least it’s not a play to win game. That is a positive it has going for itself. Hopefully more will be added within time.
Don’t understand why is having issues

So as far as im playing the game. The game is amazing fun addicting and enjoyable. Even after a loose im still willing to continue to play and grind. Love the free season1 pass and the cards are beautiful. The gems 💎 are cheap and cost to upgrade cost is not bad at all. It’s reasonable. My issue and why is a three. 1- friend request. Put it in the game. I till my ppls to download the game but theres no way to play with them. I would love to collect cards and battle my friends. 2- should put clans in the game and ppl gain exp and clan points for upgrades and more cards as a team. 3- im having difficulties getting in a match. Will not allow me to find a match and is trying to blame me for the issue. I tried multiple times and is not working 😣 and im at 17 with amazing cards! On 14 on the Season pass now the game is not giving me a match. Pls help me and ill change the rating to a 5 which im willing to do if these issues are done. And i dont at all write comments on game reviews at all. Shows how much i do love this game!
Fun game but some cards make it not fun

by 🙃🙃🙃😏
EDIT: Thanks for the OTA. Just the part about HE applies now. :) If I am correct, the devs separated the cards into series1-5 to keep differently experienced players separate. So why oh why is every other game I play dominated by Blob, Thanos, and High Evolutionary when I am only on series three? These are all series 5 cards that at one point or another are available through spotlight caches. This means that anyone that’s lucky enough to get them (not me) can easily reach infinite. There are no counters via Shang-Chi anymore due to Caiera. The same three cards have been at the top for MONTHS now, and the way I see it, there are only a few solutions. Nerf the cards. The problem with this is that it would take a whole redesign to fix these cards, because the way they change your deck is what makes them broken. Introduce counters for the broken cards. An ability that makes you gain significant power when your opponent ends a turn with unspent energy (for HE) would be great. Or a card that gave -5 power to 1-costs (Thanos). Or you could make shadow king an ongoing: “Cards’ here’s Power is their base Power and can’t be changed.” (Blob) Delete the cards from the game. (If all else fails.) If you don’t do this the game will continue to be not fun to play.
All those cool sounding cards you see being released? Forget about them. You aren't playing with any of them anytime soon unless you both spend hours a day playing and serious $$$. Whales only. I'm not free to play, I'm happy to spend money on the games I enjoy but the current leveling/card acquisition system is very broken. I'm at collection level +/- 3200 and I don't even have all the pool 3 cards. Not really even close. I have a couple pool 4 and a couple pool 5 that weren't bought in a season pass. I don't know what a solution would look like but having some hope or reasonable way I could get a new card here or there would go a long way to keeping me and a lot of other players involved in the game. The game is still hot right now but vibe I get is that the clock is ticking on the developers to figure something out. Here's to hoping they make something happen because I love the game and would hate to see player involvement take a nose dive. Business people and developers I believe in you... Put those noggins to use and help us out here. If the whales you're profiting from have no one to play with they're going to stop playing, we've seen it happen in a long list of other games. This game is too good to suffer that fate!
Good gameplay, lots of bots

Really neat game by the original lead designer of Hearthstone. It’s extremely fast because players play simultaneously, and the losing player is encouraged to forfeit.
Normally, the winning player takes 2 cubes from the losing player to move up in the rankings. But the losing player can retreat early to give up only 1 cube instead. Or, the winning player can SNAP. This forces the losing player to decide between retreating now, giving up one cube, or to keep playing for 4 cubes. If both players SNAP, the game will be worth a whopping 8 cubes to the winner!
My main complaint is that the game has a bunch of bots thrown in to keep queue times down. It would be fine if the AI were more skilled at higher rankings. But as-is, it cheapens the ranked experience when you realize that the best way to rank up is to play when nobody else is online.
Surprisingly Addicting!

I’ve never cared too much for mobile games, let alone card games, but Marvel Snap is wildly addicting. It’s easy to pick up and hard to put down because I keep telling myself one more round. A lot of card games seem overly complex (at least to me), but Marvel Snap keeps it easy and simple to understand. You’ll quickly find favorite character cards that you might be surprised you like so much given the character attached, but that makes it all the more fun. Gaining a new respect for a character just because their care is great is not something I expected. The art work and card system is fun to upgrade and figure out new combinations and cards that complement each other as well as the arena they’re placed in. I sincerely hope this game gets regular updates and new things added because it’s super fun right now and I want to continue to jump into this great game for the foreseeable future.
Love the game! But the premium pass……….

This game was amazing with the art style and game play, I’ve never played a game quite has charming and beloved to the marvel universe as it is. BUT the biggest flaw holding it back to a five star rating is the premium pass (aka battle pass). I was so exited being able to grind and gain miles and more beloved character in the marvel universe but I have to spend money. Your argument could be, “well why not just buy it?” It defeats the whole purpose in my eyes on playing the game, you grind and gain beloved characters in the universe and grinding out the first pass made me exited for more then right away seeing the spider verse pass with character I love, not grind for it! But holds you back with money which is a big slap to the face for everyone. If you got rid of the buy a battle pass and made it free battle passes, the game would be 100% better and I would consider it to be one of the greatest apps in the store.
Fast and furious fun

I’m new to this genre of game (card battle), so it took me a bit to really “get it”. For the first 10-15 matches, I felt like I was just tossing random cards with no real intention and just seeing what happened. But I slowly started learning what the different cards do, and how to use them to my advantage. I found myself strategizing and thinking 2-3 moves ahead. I had several matches that were downright exciting seeing what would happen. I did not expect to get that kind of rush from this game. But if you give yourself even a small chance to learn the cards, you’ll experience the same. Absolute best is when your opponent “snaps” you thinking they’ve got the match locked, and you turn the tables and defeat them.
Only recommendation…I wish the deck of cards itself was more interactive when you’re NOT actually in a match. For the sake of nostalgia, I want to just flip through the deck, look at the cards, interact with them. I want to spin them around and look at the BACK of the card, maybe read about the character’s lore. When you’re IN a match, the cards have amazing effects, like Cyclops. But outside of a match, the cards are just static, and you can just barely tilt them from side to side. Make the deck of cards just as enjoyable to interact with outside a match as in.
So I pretty much grind this game until my phone is nearly dead every few hours. I love it but it does have quirks, minor bugs at times, and ridiculously overpowered cards for crazy builds. Okay so the only card I’m encountering and getting frustrated with is killmonger. I love my 1-drop deck because it builds up. Takes time but sometimes it’s worth it. Unfortunately when I get excited about maybe winning with my 1- drops boom killmonger destroys everything. It’s too much the fact that he can destroy every single one drop from any location. If you guys could maybe look at reworking him a little to where he only destroys one drops in a single location that would be more balanced in my opinion. The thing I hate the most about this game is the players purposefully running out the play timer to try and get you to retreat. It’s almost constant it seems or they just don’t care. Shorter timer maybe. It does not take that long to make a play. We ain’t playing chess lol. I would love to see a 2v2 mode or a type of champion league for players who are more serious and aren’t going to waste your time, literally. Overall though this is a great game and I tell everyone about it! Keep up the great work!

First review I have ever written but it has to be said. This game is the epitome of a good balance of making the game have ways to earn money to pay its employees so they can keep releasing new stuff while not being predatory on the players. It’s pay to go slightly faster and it doesn’t matter because for the most part you are matched with people with similar collections. Everyone will get all the cards eventually if you keep playing and playing is insanely too fun and addicting. They mostly make money off skins and battle pass which is only 10-15 a month. The only criticism I have about the game is it is too addicting and I find myself losing an hour or two of my life when I intended to play one game. But that’s more on me I guess. I want to commend this company for making the first phone game that doesn’t feel like a quick cash grab. It’s a legitimate good game and it turns into and insanely good game if you are a marvel comics fan. Peach momoko and Alex Ross variants…. Yes please thanks! This game is awesome and I will be playing it and supporting it for years to come. I generally don’t make micro transaction purchases in any phone games, but I will to support this game and vote with my wallet because honestly you don’t need to spend money in this game which weirdly makes me wanna spend money to support it….
Overall fantastic game

I don’t leave reviews ever, but this game deserves one. Mobile games have this terrible habit of being micro-transaction money pits that con people into giving them a ton of money in return for the ability to play the game better than others (pay to win). Marvel snap is the most free to play mobile game I’ve seen since the old days of temple run and similar games. The game rewards you for simply playing it. Win, lose, tie no matter what you get material for card upgrades (which are purely cosmetic) and that mechanic also allows you to get more new cards. I made it to the 3rd pool of cards in a month of playing only a couple games a day at minimum. On top of that its easy to get into, has cool card synergies that are easy to figure out and introduces people to lesser known heroes in the universe. And I'm not even done. In the newest update you can now buy specific cards in the shop with in game currency. There are almost no flaws to this game. It can be buggy, but it is early access so it’s to be expected. I personally haven't run into many problems at all. If you like deckbuilders and are on the fence i would HIGHLY recommend trying it out.

I guess I’m the first to play the game? Or maybe I’m over exaggerating and I’m just the first to review?? No clue but so far I got through the tutorial witch was very simple and made easy to pick up on the game and how it works, soon after I learned how to easily upgrade my hero’s to totally dominate in gameplay! Don’t need strategy when you have HULK! We’ll you might, this is probably one of the most unique strategy games I’ve played so far, I love how when you upgrade a hero the hero’s card also changes its look into a cool 3D card that you can move to experience the 3D feature of the uprgraded hero’s card moving or swaying your phone. Wait did I even mention upgrading a hero gets you a new hero!? Like come on this game is awesome, I just started my journey to be one of the strongest players, I don’t know if your reading this. BUT IF YOU LOVE STRATEGY GAMES, MARVEL HEROS, AND A GOOD MATCH, download this game, try it yourself.
Also don’t know if you can add people or have friends yet but if anything my connect/username is AstroWrld, also (Developers) if you ever want to give me some kind of special gift or hero :), or maybe even be down to a battle AstroWrld is the name.
I finally gave in after seeing the ads. I was never much into card based games but this one is the real deal. The matches are no more than 7 minutes, all cards are unlocked just by playing the game. The cards are well balanced and it takes a lot of skill to have the right set of cards every time. But the locations make each game different. The locations you put the cards at could easily cause you to lose if you’re not making tactical decisions. Only micro transactions are for gold to get credits. Credits upgrades your cards which makes your “Card Collection” level go up. Higher the Card Collection level the more rewards you can get. As well as the battle pass there are free rewards as well, gold, credits, and even boosters to level up your cards. No ads, no pay to win, no long games. I find myself playing this game for hours a day. Just the first 24 hours I had it I had gotten 20 cards just by playing the game. I haven’t pay any money but I am highly considering it to support the dev team for this game. Highly recommend and paying is not at all necessary to progress in the game.
This is awesome!!

Ok so I’m a big fan of this game due to the fact that there are X-Men characters because it’s Marvel but I sometimes wish for Dante and Virgil even though they are under CapCom even though there was Teppen but I didn’t like that game that much and wish that it would have traced over to this game. I was always looking for games like this but I hesitated to download at first launch since it was a card game. I wanted the moba game(w/ Marvel) a few years back but it launched in Honk Kong and didn’t launch globally so it didn’t work out for me. I think this game has great potential and honestly I watched a video on it and it makes sense how to play so far!! Really enjoyable and I like the art style…I wish you could view your games though because sometimes they get pretty intense and it would be nice to have that function naturally w/ in the game..so please add that! Also I know it’s really not that hard but it would also be nice to see the history of those games and if you could friend people that you play against like a teacher/mentor type deal once you feel you learned enough about the game but it could be optional..and doesn’t have to revolve around that prospective..otherwise great game and look forward to playing more matches..ty to team defs for making this game!!
Fun game with a few issues

by Itchn4trbl
Like so many others I really like this game but there are a few issues that I hope get worked out. I don’t mind grinding I don’t mind spending a few dollars here and there. They have limited the ability to earn cards so severely that after completions of pool two there is no point to grinding because there is very little reward making the search for the ideal cards painful and slow even if you are willing to spend a few dollars. Also on the pc you can’t scroll to pick decks above the fourth or fifth deck. Also on a few occasions there have been glitches on turn six causing unexplained losses contrary to the game mechanics iut of hundreds of games it has only happened 2 or 3 times but a bug that needs to be addressed. Also I am with a few other players Ego is a poor game choice in that you loose control of your ability to play your own hand and the ai takes over and plays for you and when and can cost you ladder points. RNG is part of these games and can be frustrating when you loose based not on your skill but luck I get that it’s a necessary evil but none the less frustrating when you loose because of a RNG dropping cards into your deck often lopsided in play.

I’m gonna go out on a limb by saying I don’t play card games. It’s not my thing, but (with my passion for all things Marvel) I had to try Marvel Snap! I highly recommend it whether you’re new to playing or not. You’ll feel like The Watcher as you are granted an array of Marvel characters and their attributes. While most games are geared towards the typical “cash grab” and although Snap does have bundles and such, it isn’t etched into your brain at every turn. You’ll still have the pleasure of playing even if you’re not the pay-to-play type.
Now, I’m not touting the joy of the game, but if you’re as much a “noob” as I am you might find your passion slightly tested as the game’s balance can seem a wee-bit tilted. Your emotions will titter between bliss and “Hello darkness, my old friend” at times. If you’re familiar with card gaming you’re likely to easily adapt quickly and reach “Infinite” in no time, or you can read this and gloat that you’re just that good.
In any case, whether you’re a seasoned gamer, a gifted mutant, or always wondered what your Panini® collection would be like if it were virtual, then Marvel Snap is the new iteration of Chess for the modern age…and it’s free!
Pretty Darn Good

The matches are short, fast-paced action you can finish easily between small breaks of a busy life, taking no more than perhaps 3 minutes or less but still favoring the tactically sound. Then, there’s the aspect of collecting both cards and card variants, which are essentially lovely alternate designs of cards; if you’re a comic book fan, you’ll love this. Finally, I really, really, like the aspect of upgrading cars to upgrade their visual effects—I’m surprised I’ve yet to see other card games do this.
The only con so far is that there needs to be a way to add friends and play against friends. Half the fun of a card game is battling against a friend, without that, it won’t survive and nor will it be able to have ‘word of mouth’ as friends won’t be able to convince other friends to play if they can’t play against one another.
I played mcoc for years and the ceiling grew exponentially, and the only way to bypass all the arbitrary time wasters such as, energy, and revives, were to pay. Future fight is arguably worse! They do give far more free upgrades to even top tier stuff, however the game has the same grind with micro transactions that scale the more you buy them. This game rewards you for playing. That’s it, you play, and the more you play the more you progress. And, if you’re better at the game you progress faster. The biggest thing that makes this game so good is that you can’t upgrade your cards power, you can only make them look cooler. The first battlepass is all free, however the second battlepass costs $9.99 which is ridiculous. You do get free items that are spread out very wide on the levels of the battlepass, but if you get to I believe level 50 you get free crates every level that give you currency to upgrade your cards or cosmetic skins for your cards.
F2P friendly fast card battler

by MusiqMysfit
This is surprisingly really fun. There are so many Marvel games out, so I wasn’t even going to try it, but I saw people on Twitch streaming it, so I was curious. Even though there are in-app purchases (there aren’t many free games that don’t…), the game is more F2P friendly than most. The in-app purchases are mostly all for card “variants,” which are like different skins for the same card. They’re purely cosmetic. After you get passed a certain point, you can pay for a season pass that gives you extra rewards for progression for $10 USD. Those are the only in-app purchases I’ve seen. For this fact alone, I continued playing. And the second reason I really love this game is that the battles are FAST. I’ve played many card battlers and it’s always a pain getting through just one because they take so long. Marvel Snap battles are fast, you’re not rushed, and they’re easy. I don’t think there’s a reason not to download.

A fantastic new and inventive card game that delivers jam packed action and a variety of cards to collect. The mechanics are unique and very easy to learn, there’s plenty of ways to play the game and so far doesn’t seem to rely heavily on “Meta” every card can do amazing things in all kinds of decks. One of my questions is how do I earn credits without paying for them, I feel like it should be a little more accessible because I don’t want this game to end up as another pay to win game. Marvel has tapped into something that has lots of potential.
Other questions/ things I would love to see in the future are adding friends and friendly matches, Ranked PVP, and who knows maybe even a card trading system. There’s other stuff but I think Marvel making this as unique as possible without trying to be another game is the best thing it can do.
Check out Marvel Snap, I’m sure y’all will have a blast!
5 stars W/ room for potential

ATTEN DEVS: Long time CCG player. I know zero % about the marvel universe. Still love this game. Five stars. Here’s some things I would love to see however.
Flavor text: like I said, I’m among the decimal percent of people who haven’t watched the avengers and know who any of these people are. Reading about the characters would be a neat touch.
Snap UI: it’s just confusing how snap priority works. When I can click it. When I can’t. Visually, I bet there’s a way for it to be more intuitive.
Incentives: I’m sure this is intentional but the grind for cards in pool 2 is excruciating. Now as someone who throws money at CCGs, I have no problem fast tracking a collection with money but the conversion of $ to cards is appx $10 bucks, so it would be $240 bucks give or take for the pool 2 collection or 2 weeks of grinding. Obviously that feels intentional to keep a player base active while giving the whales a way to own a collection quicker but I feel caught in between. Where are the occasional shop specials? Or why can’t the caches that take forever to grind offer more than 10 boosters? Make the juice worth the squeeze and I’ll happily grind.
Lastly stats: this is controversial but it would certainly appeal to the long time CCG crowd like myself.
Anyways, non of these points is meant to detract from what is an otherwise extremely fun and addicting game. Keep up the good work devs 👍

The second I started playing this game I was having a blast. The way the 3 areas change to shake up the battle can ether make you or break you. Now you are probably wondering is it pay to win. I wouldn’t say yes but I wouldn’t say no ether. The reason I say this is because the currency you can buy allows you to get alternate art of your favorite characters or to buy their other currency that allows you to evolve your cards art. Now the reason I say it’s a yes and no is because in order to unlock random new cards you must first evolve the cards you already have. So let’s say a fresh new player battles it out against a veteran, the veteran may have more time played and possibly a more flushed out deck while the new player may be limited to the basic cards, due to the zones changing effects it can give an edge to ether one of the players. So it’s a friendly game for casuals and competitive players alike.
Takes the best elements from pretty much every digital ccg and combines them into one. I won’t be surprised when this takes over the card game market and Im for it! The monetization model is pretty solid (gameplay is the primary currency.)The game is exciting and fast paced. Cosmetics are awesome and the card upgrade will make you nostalgic as you grow (aww look at my infinity iron man, how naive I was to think you were a good card.)
To developers, please nerf bar with no name and subterranea. 5 rocks is too many and bar with no name should be deleted from the game. Variety is great but some elements are just straight up not healthy for game state. (Maybe 2 rocks instead!)
The flavor of cards is really well designed! Each character feels like what you would expect from those characters. Even though Im a 30 year old man I feel like a kid again with MARVELSNAP and the best part is it doesn’t cost a fortune to be competitive.
Future update wants

So far this game has been great, I was expecting it to be completely different than it is, but I’m 100% enjoying this game and have been playing it for a week straight now. A couple things I hope to see in future updates, are the ability to add friends, maybe even make alliances/clans where we can eat rewards that was as well by completing challenges in a group. Also a better chat system, maybe free typing chat, with limitations obviously. But I’ve never seen anyone use the little coms that are implemented in the already, and makes me wonder sometimes are these just bots or am I playing actual people? As of right now the main thing I want though is the being able to add friends/play against them, even if that means I won’t get rewards for the battle to ensure there isn’t any boosting. Just been wanting to play my friends and see who can outwit who.
Game just released give it time

People are saying all reviews are bots but I am writing a review because I genuinely enjoy the game. I get some people can say it’s pay to get stuff and a cash grab for credits but the game just came out they will add more modes, locations, missions to earn way more credits. So we don’t need to pay to boost unless we really want to. It’s mostly visual upgrades anyways and I can’t wait to upgrade it all the way to see what it looks like. Really good job and yes it took years to make but you gotta understand how many people are in the marvel universe and I’m taking a guess and saying they nailed a lot of them in this card game, which by the way I love collecting cards and stuff so this is perfect. Add more of the stuff I recommend above and please add a system to at least see what level I can get some of my favorite hero’s unlocked unless it’s at random but I’ve been seeing otherwise.
Ideas to think about
2026-12-19
by USMCYanez
First off let me start by saying this game is AMAZING! One of the many things I love about this game is that there is no cooldown time to go into battle, which means you can grind on this game all day long to get the cards you really want. I really hope you don’t add a cooldown time in the future.
I do have some ideas that I hope you can take into consideration, now I know this game is only a couple of months old so maybe you already have plans to add these things in the future!
I really would love to see you implement into the game a feature where you can add friends and battle with them, maybe create an ID number for everyone so they can search their friends up and add them.
Another feature I would love to see later on down the road is an option to create or join a clan, league, team, etc. and have battles with other clans in the game.
I know ideas like this take time and probably a lot of money to add into the game but I really would love to see this in the game later down the road.
If I ever have anymore ideas I will either edit this review or email your customer service. Thank you for taking the time to read this review and I hope it finds you well! Don’t let this amazing piece of gem (marvel snap) get buried in the dirt.
