🏷️ About:
Magnet is a social discovery game that prioritizes personality over looks. It allows users to chat and connect with like-minded individuals before unlocking each other's real photos behind cartoon avatars. The app aims to bring back missed opportunities and meaningful connections that are lost through monotonous swipe dating.
I downloaded this mostly because I love making my own avatars and wanted to see what an automatically generated one would look like. That part worked fine for me. I had read reviews and knew that you couldn’t talk much on here without paying, but it’s even more ridiculous than previous reviews have made it sound.
A couple of people reached out to me first, so I figured I would respond and see what happened. I was shocked when I was immediately prompted to purchase “bolts” and I would not be able to send them even one message without paying. And bolts aren’t cheap. It costs 5 of them to send one message and the cheapest pack is 40 of them (so 8 messages) for $12!!!! Almost 2 bucks a message and there are implications that you’ll be charged more than 5 if your message is “too long”!!!
There are so many responses on negative reviews from the development team about how other social/dating apps also have paid memberships, but the big ones are completely usable without paying for anything. You only pay for premium features but can talk to people for free for as long as you want. I can’t confirm anything about bots on here since I’m not willing to spend money to converse, but don’t bother with this app unless you have tons of money to blow to potentially talk to not even real people.
Full of bots

Tried Magnet out, and the “free” version they are talking about is basically consist of this…
You start talking with a bot with an avatar who at first seems like a real person, but it’s it’s chatgpt. And then once you send about 15-20 messages to each other, you get the option to bump them and see if they bump you back, meaning do you like each other’s conversations. Problem with that is that of course they are going to bump you(because it’s a bot) and when you bump back, you get locked behind a pay wall and you can’t continue chatting with them until you pay money. But then you get to see their real picture and you see it’s a gorgeous picture who’s clearly a professional stolen picture and a bot just designed to get you to spend money. I don’t think there’s a real person on here. Don’t waste your time with Magnet.

At first, I was having a good time chatting with potential partners on Magnet, we meshed well and I enjoying carrying conversations. However, I keep having to pay out bolts just to continue basic communication, and they are RIDICULOUSLY priced! Whatever, fine, I’ll give Magnet a shot, if I find companionship out of this, it’ll be worth it. But $12 for only a set of messages drain quickly, and each match of mine on Magnet keeps saying we shouldn’t move the conversation elsewhere… WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS WOULD KEEP PAYING TENS OR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO *MAYBE* FIND A DECENT MATCH THEY CAN *MAYBE* ONE DAY CONNECT WITH? Magnet is a complete cash grab and scam, if I didn’t have to pay to send almost every message to whomever, I wouldn’t feel as strongly as I do. I’m immediately requesting a refund and deleting Magnet, it’ll be a blessing to see the money I spent again.
IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND AREN’T INTERESTED IN POTENTIALLY FAKE PARTNERS, STAY AWAY FROM Magnet!!!! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻❌❌❌❌❌❌❌
Don’t buy fake content

Magnet is riddled with fake profiles, the interactions are provided by some commissioned employees meant to exploit. The profiles waste your time and energy with the intention of depleting your “bolts” used to chat, causing a necessity to purchase more, to continue the superficial and arbitrary conversations. Greed is the motivation and the users are merely a means to profit. Invest on platforms that offer real content and don’t mislead you with fake conversations. It also appears the inquires as passive and inconsequential as they may seem are collecting metadata to more accurately target the users preferences and specialized messages based on interests. Content provided to one suspicious profile was collaborated by other unrelated connections. Magnet should be removed from Magnet Store for the abuse of the users and fraudulent practices, leaving Magnet on Magnet Store supports the exploitations and provides a platform for them to engage in the detrimental behaviors.
Magnet was horrible. First of all there are no real people. The whole idea for Magnet is to get people to spend money on it. So if you are doing it for free you can get as far as seeing their picture before it charges you money to talk to them. Adding to that no one you talk to is real. They ask similar questions and give similar answers. All have reasons like I don’t give out my Snapchat or I don’t have a Snapchat ect. None go in on specifics. The whole idea of Magnet is for you to buy premium or use bolts which costs 30 cents a message to talk to people and I bought the bolts to see what it’d be like and it is just a scam because again nobody is real. And I’ll never see that money again because Magnet is garbage. Save yourself time and trouble and don’t get this horrible app. Good idea for an app but scammy and greed has made a decent idea horrible. I’d leave 0 stars if that was an option
Bots and fakes and scammers…oh my!

I came across Magnet whilst browsing on Instagram. Thinking that this would be a neat way to meet a new person, I signed up. And I would immediately get responses, which was fun -until I began to analyze that the language being used seemed like a cross between AI and a Nigerian. Also, on a day that I logged in, one of my “matches“ was first listed as being in New York City, before it automatically changed over to my town. I wish I could post a photo of this, because you have no idea how scammy that is.
Oh. And here’s the kicker. Even if you sign up for membership, you’re still asked to pay more money to communicate with people. No other dating app does that. Why would I sign up for a subscription, if I have to keep paying? fortunately, Apple was able to see right through their scam, and give me a full refund. I would suggest not downloading Magnet, as it is garbage.
App is fake

I downloaded this after seeing an ad on tik tok. Felt off the moment I started using it. Interface is incredible simple. The avatars are kinda cool I guess but the most glaring issue is that pretty much every “user” appears to be fake. They aren’t bots but they do seem to be monitored by people who don’t have a great grasp of grammar and sentence construction, implying unfamiliarity with the language of choice. Even if they were real, the process that Magnet goes through to make money is exploitative at best. It takes “energy” (in Magnet called bolts) to send a message. Five bolts equals one message. You get ten a day. That’s two messages to send a day. Combined with fake profiles it’s all just a major catfish to trick people into spending money. I know the devs are going to respond and say something like “Dating apps need to make money too” or “Every user is real” but they’re just trying to cover the dirt with a rug.
All bots

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Downloaded it yesterday to check it out and got quite a few responses so I thought Magnet was pretty cool. Until today when I realized every “person” I was talking to was a bot asking random questions, typing words incorrectly, and asking the same questions over and over. You might ask “why would they do this?” Well you have to pay a monthly subscription to continue talking to people after a few exchanges. Then after you do that, you have so many texts you can send before you have to “top up” on “bolts” to keep sending messages. The people seemed real enough until I paid for the subscription, and then it’s almost like the bot AI got turned to “stupid mode” cuz it was easy to tell. One even sent me an AI generated harbor saying they went there recently. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY! IT IS A SCAM!
Just an attempt to take your money, that’s it.

They try and sound wholesome with their concept of not judging someone based on looks but it’s really just a pump and dump app for your money.
You have a conversation with somebody you don’t get to see up until the point you have to reveal your photo and when you do they ask you for money to continue the conversation. It’s as simple and as stupid as that. It’s also very clear that most conversations you have are with people hired to do so even though they tell you that’s not the case.
Also, you could just as easily have the same experience on any other dating app for free by not sharing or posting a photo until you get to know someone. In fact, a very popular dating app, has a speed dating feature that offers the same experience but at no cost with a thousand times more users.
The concept of Magnet seems intriguing at first, but in reality, it's a complete scam. You can't message anyone without purchasing "bolts," and these run out quickly, costing around $12 for just a few messages. Moreover, they push you to buy a subscription, which still limits your messaging. What's even more suspicious is that after a few conversations, I realized that all the women I talked to were actually bots. They refused to communicate outside Magnet insisted that I talk to them on Magnet and responded instantly without and delay, making it clear that something was off like as if they had Magnet opened on their phone all the time. In short, Magnet is a total letdown and likely one of the biggest scams out there. Save your time and money because while the concept appears promising, their tactics are deceptive and misleading.
Clearly a Money Grabber

I got Magnet, made an account, got around 5 people messaging me immediately, the ages ranged from 21-52.
Everything seems pretty normal, a 52 year old guy sent a creepy message at the start, everyone else seemed pretty normal. But then as I started initiating chats with other people they started somehow knowing information about me I hadn’t said previously. One I started talking to immediately asked if I was looking forward to watching a movie even though we’d not even mentioned anything like that yet. Also typos started becoming very abundant the more I talked to people.
I could have just chalked this down to a little weirdness but that’s when the paywalls started hitting me. Every time I got a person to reveal their image I was immediately hit with a “But more bolts”. Why would you design a dating app, designed to be focused on chatting, require you to pay money, to chat? It doesn’t make any sense. I could understand maybe having a premium feature that allows you to use chat stickers, or custom outfits or modifications to your character, or chat room themes, anything other than forcing you to pay to do the 1 thing Magnet is good for.
Don’t waste your time on Magnet. Move of the “people” that you’ll message or that will message you are bots or ai, and even if you do finally encounter a real person, Magnet will force you to pay before you can actually get to know them.
Definitely a scam.

Overall experience: -10/10, they should pay you to use Magnet.
This is by far the worst “dating” app I’ve ever used. In fact, Magnet makes other apps look amazing😂To begin, you’re given an avatar that’s auto generated I assume using AI. You’re then given options to “customize” said avatar. Okay cool, so at least you get an avatar that has your same skin color.
Secondly, these accounts HAVE to all be bots. If you’ve ever talked to a habeeb trying to hack your Facebook account, that’s how these people talk on there and their profile pictures once they’re revealed look like stock photos taken in Asia or something.
And last but not least, let’s talk about money. First off, most dating apps, actual normal dating apps allow you to talk to people you match with as long as you want without any gimmicks or paywalls. Unlike other dating apps, this one only allows you to send I think up to 10 message before they block your messages with a paywall powered by “bolts” that you have to buy. Each message costs 5 “bolts” and you get like 40 to a pack. Each pack however is like $12 a piece. So unless you have money to just throw away to talk to bots, I’d heavily suggest never even wasting your time with Magnet.
Great concept, awful execution

So Magnet has a wonderful idea and concept behind it. The fact that you can’t see the profile picture until you have a few messages and you have to agree that you like them and they like you all amazing fantastic ideas. The problem is they only give you 10 messages and then once you connect if the person likes you, you have to subscribe to continue messaging. Why would I want to pay$15 for 40 messages or subscribe for months when I’m planning on finding a relationship and eventually deleting Magnet, plus every single person I matched with was subscribed and brought this up with my matches and they almost seemed like carbon copies of one another, if you’re looking to chat with an ai, this is Magnet for you

This is not a dating nor social media app, it is a cash grab app. When the supposed profile pic is revealed it is not real, it is created. The only person you are chatting with is Magnet itself. You'll notice the short answers, and responses require more chats which in turn creates more revenue. You’ll notice an unusual amount of “how are you today” the conversation is very unnatural and awkward. If you ask two questions in one sentence the response will require two chats back causing you to spend more. You’ll also notice theres never a statement, just a question. There are many other things I could mention. This is a game at best and NOT a dating app, unless you want to date Magnet itself, as your not going to meet your soul mate here. Also notice the responses to reviews are always “someone else’s fault” like someone making a fake profile, or trying to protect their clients. So if your looking for love you’ll hate Magnet. Call it a game and nothing else, your certainly never going to meet your “soul mate” here. I will say this, its a great game if you like to spend your hard earned cash living in a fantasy world where to you the relationship is real, but to whomever is responding its just a job.
I am now opening an investigation. They charged me for two years of subscriptions and I deleted Magnet and my account! Nothing but a crooked business scheme to grab your money! The people you match with aren’t real! They are 100% bots! They keep you talking so you run out of bolts to send messages to get you to buy more! It cost something rediculous like 10 bolts to send a message and $12 packs get you like maybe 100 which is equivalent to 10 messages. You don’t even earn any bolts for logging in each day. The only way to get them is to pay! Even with a membership you have to pay for more bolts. You don’t just get unlimited access to messaging your matches even with a subscription. I’ve never heard of more of a scam in my life. And you match with 5 people but can only message one of them? What kind of rules are these? Squid game rules? This is a scam and should be taken off of App Store today! I did file a claim through apple who was more helpful than these “developers” who respond to all their bad reviews hoping to get them changed. Apple refunded my money without batting an eyelash. I hope they shut Magnet down. It’s only a matter of time before they get sued. DO NOT DOWNLOAD! Do NOT DOWNLOAD!!
Fake Profiles.

Every single person I have spoken to, does not want to get off Magnet and talk elsewhere. Out of 13 matches, 13 of them told me that they do not use any sort of social media, including Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook. Half of them, can’t even complete a full sentence without having some sort of misspelling. I reverse searched some of the photos, and they all come from different websites, and if they ask where you are from, even though their profile, says Dallas, Denver, San Diego, they will say that they are from exactly where you are from. The conversation is so dry. If you try to delete Magnet , it gives you 10 free bolts, which equals to two free messages. Magnet is extremely overpriced, and after about 14 to 16 messages, it reveals someone’s photo, but it is definitely not theirs. Every single person asks if I look like my profile photo. Why would I even post a photo if I didn’t look like it. Or if it wasn’t me. Magnet is a complete money grab, you get anything from it, and it shocks me that someone between the age of 18 to 25. Doesn’t use any type of social media. I’m pretty sure Magnet is entirely artificial intelligence.

I was enjoying Magnet at first then I got attacked by having to pay to continue to talk to someone. If your going to make a application to help people connect there’s not bigger barrier to place in between them than money. Some of us don’t got much to spend honestly Magnet would have made probably more money with a add feature. A feature to watch adds to gain 5 bolts and a bonus 5 if you download a app would have been a smart marketing strategy. People would be watching the adds and trying different apps to continue to connect if they don’t have the funds. Since Magnet does hide identities it is easy to be talking to a bot rather than a person. With Ai on the rise this only creates future concerns for apps like this. As the entire time someone could just be taking to a Ai chat with a Ai generated image. Some of us don’t wish to risk spending money on a connection that ends up being auto generated instead. Again why the add strategy have a hub where you watch adds or downloaded partnered apps would be beneficial as it would give more people comfort that they are not blowing money into false hope.
Garbage

by Bob Says Hi! Hi Bob!
First off, it deleted real photos of me. There didn’t even seem to be a place to submit a Live Photo for verification or anything, they’d just delete my very real photos regardless. Also, you only get 10 free chats. Once you choose “Bump” or “Pass” you’d have to pay to keep talking. Despite almost every other app having free messaging.
And especially when you only get 5 matches per day, it’s stupid to have to pay to chat with people. Either do unlimited matches but pay after “Bumping” (in which case I still wouldn’t pay for this) or have unlimited messaging but 5 matches per day unless you pay for more. Like other apps.
I will give them the one positive: in the DAY I had the account (less than 24 hours), I didn’t seem to encounter any bots. None I could tell for sure were bots at least. But I did only interact with a dozen or so people. Could still definitely be bots. But they may not bother with an app that doesn’t have free messaging.
Huge let down

by Revereluvir
The idea is pretty good. Too bad once you get far enough in the messages (if they are even real people, some responses seemed very bot like) it costs 5 of their currency to send a message, and guess what, that costs money. “Genius” idea to have an app focused on conversation and meeting people to require you to pay to send a message to the people I barely believed were real. I would say something or ask something, and it would just get completely ignored while they asked the same question for the second time. And every single person I talked to all asked very similar questions, some even texting with the same mannerisms.
Devs, I hope you see this, please, you can do better. Please don’t fall into the hole of dark patterns. Please be better and view your users as people, not a cash grab. These kinds of apps shouldn’t be allowed to exist because what if there is actually a good app waiting to be used, but people come across Magnet instead and instantly have a dislike toward these kinds of apps.
The first day, the first hour I started using Magnet, it was made clear how nobody you chat with is real. Very unnatural wording and when you chat long enough to reveal the profile pic, it’s like the person is AI generated, they just don’t look real. It’s uncanny valley with all these people and if you ask to get a phone number to take the chat outside Magnet , it just so happens each person dumped a load of money and has all the “bolts” they could ever need.
And the whole premise of these bolts is wild, you get like 10 to start the convo, and each text costs 2 bolts, so you get send like 5 messages and then you gotta spend as little at 12 bucks or something to eat more bolts or the conversation ends then and there. Magnet is a cash grab and a bad one at that.
DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON Magnet!!!! Especially when there are real dating apps out there that work perfectly fine without even needing to put money into them. This is my P.S.A to everyone - Magnet isn’t worth the energy, get back onto Tinder and Bumble and find you some real people!
Awful

Magnet is easy to load, build profile, and create a cool avatar. It allows you to chat with someone for free, with 7 free chats, you can purchase more. Chats are limited in characters, but not info. Share whatever you want. Pic’s cost more than chats
However, there are several downsides. First, they ask if you want to be matched with “similar aged” people. Doesn’t matter how you answer, you will get huge age differences.
Second, there is no search engine. So you get, what you get. Age doesn’t matter, according to everyone you chat with. Really, a 19 yr old will date a 60 yr old? I highly doubt that to ever be true.
Third, bolts are ridiculously expensive. However, who would ever pay to chat? 5 bolts per chat, with only 10 additional bolts each day to subscribers. Again, why would anyone pay to chat?
Lastly, bots. 99% of the chats are bots. Profile pics are clearly photoshopped, or just outright fake. Chats are just driven to sell more bolts. Please, heed my warning, don’t waste you money.
All-in-all, this is the most fake dating app available. I DO NOT recommend Magnet and will not renew my subscription. Your money, your choice. Please herd my warnings.

Girls respond immediately no matter what time of day and are online 24/7. Magnet charges you for every message sent. They will never give you info to meet in person or talk on another platform. Constantly insist on talking on Magnet because they had a bad experience giving out their info. I've never had a problem with this while using tinder or bumble. I'll say it again if Magnet wasn't a scam they wouldn't charge you for a mvp membership that still makes you pay per message after. Any app that makes you pay per message is a scam stay away from them all. I hope this helps people from wasting their hard earned time and money during a time where we need it most. I hope the creators of Magnet get cancer and die a slow death.

Here’s what I like about Magnet -Concept Here’s what I dislike about Magnet -The execution It costs bolts(app currency) to talk to popular members… Which is 90% of Magnet . And you don’t use bolts on the non popular members but they are basically ghosts. The bolts themselves as wholesale items are way to expensive for their limited uses You can get a membership at a monthly price and yet that membership doesn’t give you many bolts on the daily. It actually doesn’t do much at all. Completely worthless to buy in my opinion. All the girls so far insist on only being talked to on Magnet. Even when they spill their feelings and swear they like you enough to sext. Overall without spilling more about this scammy activity. Don’t download this. Save your money and go through the traditional route. Even if you have self confidence issues. I promise you’ll have better luck anywhere but here..

There are no other real people on here. You will only match with chat bots. Bots pull info from other bots. One said they wanted to meet my gecko which I had never mentioned in any way at all. But I did to a different bot. That’s when I really got sussed.. so I decided to test it and not a single one would accept texting for free over normal means and would ask me to get a subscription. Which I already had, when I said I already had the subscription it seems like it can’t handle that response because it’ll ask you to upgrade to a more premium version to message more often. But theirs only 1 tier of membership. I have reported Magnet and requested a refund. I hope to see Magnet taken down before they can steal anyone else’s money.

Right now I give Magnet a 2 star review because it was not clear on the “bolt system” if you want to chat with someone on Magnet, just get their socials and move on. If I don’t get more bolts for free like other apps like this do, I would like my money back because there is no information given about the subscription that I can find. Update, after asking a few matches to exchange socials, I got something along the line of “it’s really important to me to get to know someone before doing that”. If I knew I was paying for an app like that, id change to snap or insta immediately. This is definitely a scam and I want my money back. Oh wait! I can’t restore purchases too?! Updating to one star, sorry, not sorry.
Terrible App - Deception at its Finest

by Sma1234seth
There’s already a bunch of negative reviews, so I’m just adding to it. However, there isn’t enough negative reviews to explain how bad Magnet really is… You’re only allowed 10 free messages with each individual, and each person you speak with doesn’t really seem like a real person. Responses that you get are very similar and repetitive. Profile pictures seem edited and altered, so there discrepancies there. When you specify that you are looking for a particular gender, they do not filter through the accounts that are false & deceptive. (Ex: I’m searching for women and 2 out of the only 5 accounts your suggested daily are Men) Once you’ve reached the maximum of 10 messages within a chat, Magnet forces you to pay them money to continue speaking with them. YOU CANNOT USE Magnet AS A FREE USER AT ALL.
All in all, Magnet is terrible. We all need to Boycott Magnet so that the creators can take it down rather than keep making money off you hopeful desperate souls. I don’t know about you, but I’m not that desperate. I haven’t given them a dime and nor should you. But anyway, there’s my 2 cents.

I tried to use Magnet for a while, the idea of Magnet is kinda of fun but once you start talking to people it gets weird. A lot of people talk the same way, the message back very fast and the English is sub par, very confusing at times and uncharacteristic of what you would expect. I have a lot of experience with scams and they talk very similarly. My best guess is the don’t have a large user base and have many fake accounts that try to make people feel like they are connecting with you so you will spend money to keep on talking to them. In reality I’m almost sure Im just talking to some middle aged guy. I’d still give it a go and maybe you will have better luck then me but after 30+ conversations I don’t think this is legit.

You can use Magnet for free initially, but can’t talk to anyone more than a few messages. Then you pay to subscribe, and after sending several messages they require you to purchase “bolts” to continue messaging. $20 to subscribe then a range of prices 59 buy “bolts”And each message costs 5 “bolts”. The pricing model is horrible and is a quick money grab scheme. If you do message someone, all the signs are there that these are fake accounts, bots, scammers, or etc. Even when you try to talk to them off Magnet and explain the cost, all the responses are the same (and almost the same sentence). The developer will provide a generic narcissist style response like it’s your fault. Do not download Magnet or waste your money!
Meet them & Move to another platform

So I downloaded Magnet in hopes of making friends. Everything was going great, I was meeting people and having good conversations- then Magnet prompted me with a “what do you feel about this chat” you can pass, for free, or pay to continue talking.
I read some reviews and some of the developers responses and they claim; “Frankly, this app can be used for free, but if you'd like to get the full-blown experience, we do recommend subscribing.” That’s not the case, you can have a small conversation then you have to pay to continue talking to them-
If I continue to use Magnet, I’m definitely gonna try and get the people on a different platform- because I’m not paying $20 to talk to someone.
I think Magnet is too new ,dumb, greedy It is dumb because it doesn’t put any big deal breakers in the profile and I am 42 and every day I get at lest 8 girls messaging me from 19-30 yr olds with there so call sensible age range option turned on…. Greedy because after a few txt it reveals the real pictures after that point it cost 5 bolts per message and it cost 10 bolts per picture sent and received After you pay the monthly fee you only get 10 bolts per day if you buy more you get 40 bolts for $12 And to top it all off it seems to have a lot of people that seem like they work for Magnet it self and only try to drain you of your bolts then they stop talking aka they know your out of bolts
Too expensive!!

Neat new concept, but what a racket they have going here. I bought a month membership that included nothing really. Still had to buy bolts in order to message my contacts even after we both agreed to exchange real photos. The messages are limited to 70 letters each. They give you 10 bolts per day, but each message you send costs 5 bolts. It adds up quickly and I’m not interested in spending hundreds of dollars to chat when other apps at least let you chat for free. There’s no games to play or engaging prompts, that I saw either. All in all Magnet is a bust. They have a lot of work to do with this one. Back to Hinge for me.

Look I’m no guy to criticize other peoples works but this has to be the most greedy app I’ve ever had just to chat with people and they call Magnet “free” yah free to download not free to use I didn’t use Magnet for 30min and it sucked me fry for about $100 just to talk with people Ntm the people using Magnet didn’t seem the slightest bit dazed when I said “let’s chat somewhere” which just means they either set bots up to drain ur cash or there are just rich people on here if not those 2 then people who get paid just draining wallets how did this game pass up with gud comments rather than bad if there are so many in app purchases u need to make to “just chat” I rather use Twitter for crying out loud even Reddit would do better than this

Horrible app do not even try to download it! They make you subscribe in order to do anything and then also make you pay to just send messages to another person you matched with! For a dating app, it’s super expensive and unrealistic. I have paid over $70 just to match with one person and have a conversation- and had to cut the conversation short because I couldn’t afford to send any more messages! Everyone persuades you to pay more money and not have a conversation off app. It is evil and corrupt. I wish I could get my money back. Such a waste of time and money. Magnet developers should be disappointed. Total scam I do not recommend.

Magnet is the worst app I’ve ever been on in my life. Magnet cost way too much money and most of the girls on there or anybody for that matter should really consider not being on Magnet. I have found that it’s been nothing but a fake app and a way to create in cars stipulations of revenue into the owners pocket that runs and controls Magnet . Is that has nothing by dwindle dollars extra dollars out of my pocket for no reason at all. They should really come up with a better system on how to charge people for “” bolts to communicate with other occupants on Magnet. I will not recommend this out to anybody nor will I ever recommend or mention it again in my life
Thought Magnet was an interesting twist but turned quickly into a cash grab. Once you “reveal” yourself to each other it cost “bolts” to talk. Now at that point you can pay for a subscription but to be honest, save your money. I decided to try the week subscription to test the waters, but oh wait you still have to pay for bolts even with the subscription!? Magnet screams SCAM! Not only do you pay just to talk but your subscription mean doo-doo. Not worth paying for if you want yo actually have a conversation with anyone. Congrats on making a cash grab for people looking to date. Done and deleted in less then an hour.
This is Horrible!!!

First have was offered a monthly payment i’ll $5.99 per month immediately after agreeing I was charged for a full year upfront. You only can message so many times before they make you buy more boats to chat some more. Your membership does not get you anything. I literally had Magnet for one hour and decided after not being able to chat with anyone without buying more chat time that I wanted a refund. I messaged customer service and got no response. I feel like I got ripped off and I will be notifying the Better Business Bureau. I feel like this whole site is a scam do not get Ford like I did
App isn’t worth it at all!

The worst part about Magnet is after you see someone’s picture Magnet forces you to pay for a subscription tinder doesn’t even do that I get messaged by people I want to respond and guess what oops sorry gotta pay for bolts or subscription I swear you just some money hungry people here lol don’t care about people finding matches at all it’s sad really can’t use a app without being forced to pay or can’t talk to anyone without being forced to pay sometimes I get lucky and i can text other than that seems like a huge scam to me waste of my time and effort on Magnet
Absolutely a waste

Magnet is full of bots… even when you sign up for their premium it charges 5 credits per message sent and received! It’s clear it’s a solid AI system, but nothing good about Magnet at all. Stay away.
I paid for a full subscription and your response is to say I should pay for a full subscription and that you want to suggest how to fit into my budget? If you guys don’t use AI you clearly have people that persuade others to keep buying credits.
LOL clearly you guys are very much customer oriented. Clearly you have many 1 star reviews, and that’s because we can’t rate you lower .
Seems like a cool idea but there’s a fatal flaw…

The image recognition is pretty garbage, and as far as I can tell, there’s no way to manually edit your avatar (if there is I will delete this review and eat my foot). But as it stands, every picture I’ve uploaded of myself has “translated” to feminine haircuts and makeup. As a guy, I don’t love this. I understand I have a feminine face, but that’s why there needs to be the ability to edit your avatar so that you can be represented accurately. So yeah, seems cool, but I don’t want to introduce myself with a cartoon with long hair and winged eyeliner, it might give the wrong impression cuz that’s not me.
App started out good not great rather just good once you unlock the users pic your choices are pay to continue or move to the next
I feel their using A.I for the convos as each person reply’s to the questions I ask except for the exchange of info… if you ask for Snapchat they reply account deactivated or I don’t use that.. cool ask for a phone number nope phone got stolen okay Instagram… nope don’t use that either and if it wasn’t obvious every account you try and ask for socials for make up excuses but go ahead waste your money on a feature that’s supposed to be free guess having freedom of speech isn’t so free when you gotta pay for it
One last thing doesn’t matter what you pick for a location Magnet will find people change their location to a close location from you and go from there
Waste of money

I only used Magnet for a 24 hour period. At first glance I though the apps concept was a great idea, however that quickly change. I thought upgrading to their premium membership would allow me to chat with my match, however Magnet wanted me to pay more money for what they call bolts in order to continue a conversation with someone. With paying $74 for 12 I was not going to give that app more money. Maybe if the premium membership included more, however the benefits where not worth the extra money. Don’t waste your time with Magnet.
Great app but the bolts

Magnet is great I’ve had great connections with people the only thing I think is a negative in Magnet is how each message costs 5 bolts. I bought bolts and have the membership but when you connect with someone and have a great conversation those bolts get spent quickly and I don’t want to make the person I’m talking to feel like I just ghosted them and it gets pretty expensive buying more bolts even with the packs. Maybe change it to 1 bolt per message instead of 5.

Its great that we can exchange contact details here but there are some people that dont want to give me their phone numbers. The few that have tried to sell me stuff! Haha. I’ll keep on looking for the right match for a few more days. Maybe I was just not lucky. Waiting for my matches to refresh now. Would be nice to pay not to wait or something…

100% AI bots. I will not explain how expensive the app is (very expensive). I really liked the idea of dating with a snap style interface that focuses on personality BUT....
Having been in it for more than a month, with a subscription and additional packs, you realize that the chats are 100% AI bots. As of last week I began testing this idea with every "match" that comes my way. I draw the conversation into the most obscene, ludicrous, perverted, disgusting conversation humanly possible (thanks reddit), and the AI bot follow along cheerfully, promising to happily engage in the most depraved behavior with me, after literally having just messaged me, and answering these messages immediately at all 24 hours of the day.
It is sad because I'm sure many people would appreciate this style of dating in 2024, but do not waste your time or money. This app is a 100% automated chat gpt with absolutely zero contact with other real people.
