Forced to delete

I’m actually really upset about this because I was really far into the game and had the highest level you could get and then I got a new phone and none of my save data was actually saved and nothing transferred over. So then it was either that I restart with a new account or just delete it and I’ve chosen to delete it. I really liked this game too but I’m so sad all my data is gone now. I can’t even link to my Facebook like it was before because I think that’s where my data is but it doesn’t work for some reason so now I just can’t have the game unless they go in and fix it, which I really hope they do. Anyways, TLDR; got a new phone and none of the data was transferred over so all progress was lost.

Pronoun Problem

The game is pretty good overall! The characters are very enjoyable, I particularly enjoy Spica, and the mechanics are easy to figure out. Sometimes the English translation is a little unclear, but some inferences and context clues usually make it a non-issue.
My only real annoyance is the inconsistent use of they/them pronouns. The game was pushed to me as one that didn’t force you to play as a female protagonist, but instead left the main character a neutral figure that we interact with the world through. As someone who’s trans, this meant a lot to me. There aren’t many high quality games like this that are so considerate. However, after passing a the majority of the first chapter it would seem that I’m now being referred to with she/her pronouns again. I try to ignore it, but it’s very annoying considering the neutral pronouns tempted me to try the game in the first place.

Some requests

Ive been playing this game since before it got a English translation so I am familiar with the games mechanics. Here are some of my requests, add pity to the the banners so that there will be a SSR card guaranteed, its not fair to the players when pity doesnt transfer over to the next banner and not getting the card they want after pulling tons of times on the banner. Another request is being able to send friend requests with other players, this would make the game more engaging since we could chat with each other and possibly trade items, such as stamina and ascension materials. Another improvement in the game would be to make it easier to get gems, like watching ads, or playing a mini game.

Great w a few small issues

I’m a big fan of otomes and have played plenty over the years, so i’d like to imagine I have a semi valid opinion on this stuff.

The story and characters are great- of course, there are some translation issues, but at this point I’ve come to expect that from foreign games. The dialogue still runs smoothly enough and holds up well. That said, the story itself is full of gaps- which is my main issue.

The battle mechanics are cute and fun, but there are two to three battle levels between each and every story chapter, which is just annoying. While it’s fun most of the time, the ratio between battle levels and actual story playing isn’t even close to equal, let alone encouraging. Sometimes I find myself too bored of battles to play two or three before reading more, and switch to other games.

That said, whenever I reach a story chapter, it feels worth it. The character interactions are rewarding, especially when you get to chat with them immediately after a battle. Over all, it’s a well done otome !

I’d do anything to get rid of ads

This game is incredibly fun. I feel like it’s fairly easy to avoid micro transactions, you get a lot of gems and coins by playing. It’s a fun Ikemen style game, like many of the reviews it does feel a lot like Obey Me, Time Princess, Love and Deep Space, but fairly light hearted (as of chapter 7).

I find the battles boring which results in me over leveling so I can skip them. It’s fine.

My one gripe is that you can’t get rid of the ads. I’m enjoying this game enough I would pay or do a subscription to get rid of ads. And there isn’t ANY. I get it, get that ad revenue. But me an whoever else who hates ads paying $5-$10 is more than the cents you are getting per ad spot.

Awesome game

I never write reviews, but I think this game deserves one. The story is interesting and the characters are all lovable. It's becoming quite addicting. I play multiple times all day long, but I do wish the translations to English were a little bit more clear. For the most part they're pretty good and easy to follow along and the dialogue between characters feels like a real conversation. Every once in a while though some of the translations seem off. They won't make a lot of sense grammatically and also just feel inaccurate in the flow of the conversation. Other than that the game is very entertaining. I'm looking forward to more seasonal card scouting and hopefully special side events in the future.

Fix the Translations and It’s Great!

Previously, I avoided this title because I heard there were a lot of grammatical errors and that’s a real turn off for me, but after watching someone else play, I decided to give it a go myself. And I have to say, I’m greatly enjoying the main story so far. I can tell the most effort went into the main story since I didn’t see any of the aforementioned mistranslations. However, once I started reading the chats, the calls, and the Home Screen dialogue, that’s when I became disappointed. Reading poorly worded mistranslations can really break the immersion for most players. And I don’t think I even need to mention the pronoun errors. (They/them or she/her, you can only stick to one so players know what to expect!) All in all, I really REALLY love the characters in this game. The art is absolutely beautiful and their personalities are interesting. I’m just a little upset because I know this game has potential to be really fun. It’s all there, it just needs more polishing. Once the translations and grammar are fixed, you’d have a real winner on your hands! (Oh, and improving the SSR rate wouldn’t be bad either.)

Fun however….

As u can expect, this is just like obey me but different in art, characters, story and even in some game mechanics. I think the game is very cute and I enjoy playing it. BUT the gacha system is terrible. I’m currently level 20 and haven’t gotten a single SSR, not even one. That’s a HUGE flaw- when I get diamonds in game I feel super discouraged to pull for any cards because I know the gacha is extremely unfair, hopefully the devs change this and make it more fair, but until then I’d recommend not wasting your diamonds on the gacha. Another thing is how difficult it is to progress due to only having SR’s available and the fact that it’s just not easy to obtain a lot of currency to level up your cards. It’s like they want you to cave, spend money on their subscription, and then cave again so you can buy more. I haven’t and will not be spending money on the game as of now since there’s many areas that need improvement and I advise everyone the same. I’d recommend only playing this game casually for now, as it’s impossible to play consistently without being annoyed by blockades. But don’t get me wrong, despite all the issues, I do really enjoy the story and characters and will continue to see how this game progresses with its development.

Almost Fantastic

I really do enjoy this game. I'm a big fan of Obey Me, and so I think my love for that helped me fall in love with this game too. So my review is coming from a place that genuinely likes this game. Majorly, I just wish that the entire game was translated better.
A lot of finer details kind of fall short, like translations, MC's answers leading to the same response no matter what you choose, and small glitches in the text and visuals that all pile up and makes it hard to really get into it. Nuances in the conversations and reactions can be confusing due to the wording and it kinda kills the vibe and brings you out of it, especially when the story starts getting intense later on.
That being said, I genuinely love the story, the characters, and the art style. I think this could truly be one of my favorite games to play if the smaller issue loose ends were tended to, and the game was treated with more care. (Also chill with the ads... Please.)o
Here's to some new lessons, though! I'm on the edge of my seat for future updates on the story! Thank you for your hard work!!

Obsessed, but what’s going on??

I have been obsessed with this game, even on my third week of daily playing. However, beginning in Floor 9, the translations became god awful. Before that, I enjoyed the story A LOT. Now, the translations don’t even make sense, and I had to go searching in Reddit for a summary of what had happened in Floor 9. There is not a big community, so that became very difficult.

I was actually an avid Obey Me fan before getting into Arcana Twilight, so at first I was very judgmental about everything the games had in common. However, I quickly realized that the character design and the story plot in Arcana Twilight is VERY SUPERIOR. I loved my boys in Obey Me, don’t get me wrong, but as you continue to progress, it’s always the same thing over and over and they always act a bit too into character (etc. always being lured by food, or money, beauty products). In Arcana Twilight, the boys have a lot of character development, and there is a lot of mystery the player is able to piece together.

Grinding is much easier here in Arcana Twilight, and the SSR card drop rates is arguably on par Obey Me.

This game has a lot of potential, but StoryTaco really needs to put more attention on this game and hire good translators/editors. It is such a shame.

Too many ads

Love the game. I’m a huge fan of Obey Me so I felt right at home with the similar gameplay style, but the game manages to have many unique aspects to it as well. Love the characters and the story is interesting too despite all the grammar errors.

However my biggest complaint are all the ads. You literally have to sit through an ad just to get into the game and then you have to sit through more every few battles or so. At least with Obey Me you can willingly choose to watch ads for more energy or battle chances. There’s no way to turn it off either. Not even having the subscription saves you from all the ads. Still as annoying as it is I still plan to continue playing the game. Can’t wait to see how things develop in the future

otome game noob

all i gotta say is I LOVE THE ART AND THE VOICE ACTUNG OMGOMGOMG
i saw the art in an ad and couldn’t resist downloading it, i absolutely love gacha games like prsk, genshin, pgr, etc. and this just got added to my list. i didn’t know this game had a gacha system until i started playing it lol
i’ve only been playing for like an hour but everything is good so far, i am struggling to farm for crystals since i’m the type to do side missions rather than focus on the main story but that’s probably just a me problem. anyways, the white haired dude, i think his name is vega, is having his bday banner rn and i want him so bad BUT I HAVE NO GEMS T^T
the level up system and the gacha system remind me of enstars so it was fairly easy to understand.

Amazing game, amazing story, bad translation

This has to be one of my most favorite otome games out there. The story, the art, the designs and setting and overall atmosphere is amazing. I’ve never been more invested in a game like this before! I’m not even exaggerating when I say this has one of the best stories and writing out there, especially in regards to the lore and character development etc. I absolutely adore this game and will continue to support it and eagerly await the updates !!!!
But please, please fix the translation. It’s very difficult to understand what is being said most of the time, especially in scenes outside of the main story. I want to enjoy this beautiful story and dialogue. I feel like I’m missing out on the nuance with how bare the translation is.

Small fixes needed

This is a very good game! I find the story enjoyable, plus the characters are rich in their own personalities and are fun to interact with. The game has a very similar layout to another game called ‘Obey Me’ which is nice, because I already have some experience with that game. you can take a break from the story at any point and do other things as well.

There’s not much about this game online, so when characters visit you after a battle it’s a little intimidating because you can’t cheat by looking up the right thing to do. There are some English translation errors, but for the most part they are small and easy to understand.

Overall, 5 stars. Recommended.

Amazing game!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I just felt compelled to because this game has been so much fun so far :) Yes, it’s similar to other games from the same genre, but the similarities just make it easier to understand and dive right into the experience right away! The characters have very distinct personalities and are fun to get to know. The voice acting is awesome too, and the translations are pretty much perfect (I haven’t noticed any errors so far and I’ve played through almost all of the first chapter already).

The visuals are nice too! And for everyone wondering, the character you play as doesn’t have a gender and pronouns aren’t used, so it’s friendly for all genders :)

This game is a mess but I love it

This game is absolute dog buns. From the garbage battle system, item rates, card draws with no pity, and horrendous translations, no one should play this game. Don’t even think to spend money on it. However, all of those things just make this game amazingly addictive. Do play this game. The characters are fun and the story keeps you entertained just enough. After a few days of seriously playing this game, I maxed out my player level and have gotten the battle system kinda down just based on trial and error. Trust me, you’re going to have a good time if you keep an open mind and roll with the wacky.

Better than I thought!!

From the reviews that I saw on here and online, I did expect this game to be a glitchy mess and an obey me clone. And while the formatting is very much like obey me, what kept be playing ArcanaTwilight is the intriguing story and lore! I assume that when it was released it must have been a lot more glitchy but right now the problems that it does have seem very manageable! The gacha system is okay, though a bit unforgiving. The only reason I’m giving it a pass is because there are a TON of ways to get gems so you can just do 10 pulls repeatedly until you get a card you desire :) The art is beautiful and the characters are rather interesting, though they are growing on me slowly. Personally, my favorites are Spica and Sirius! Kudos to the creators for making this fun game!

Korean Obey Me but it’s good

Like a lot of the other reviewers, I agree this game takes a lot of gameplay cues from obey me. I thought that would make it seem redundant to me, but I’m really enjoying the characters and the story. So far it feels like there’s less “filler” in the story than OM, but the ratio of battles to story chapters leans more toward the battles, which can be tiring. There are also some spelling and grammatical errors like others have said, the most egregious I’ve seen so far being in Ch 3’s hard mode, where the English barely makes sense.
I also agree the gacha could be improved by implementing a pity mechanic after a certain number of pulls. However, the game is generous with rewards and I personally feel the 2700 gems needed for a ten pull is fairly easy to get. I hope this game keeps growing in popularity!

Choices of dialogue

I love the choices especially when it comes to dealing with cheesy situations with the boys, and with figuring out the mystery in the game I give it S tier as you can say what’s on your mind or chose not to got pick who want to know I would love a more balanced on your actions in chaos moments in the game, though I understand your human and can’t do anything as you know having no magic, I would love it where I could make a distinction and be like okay three a chair at the guy he’s confused and then peace out Girl Scout an hide, an later have a chance to choose how you defend yourself?

It’s a good game but..

It’s a good game. Similar to obey me but with its own twist. There’s a few errors in the game such as spacing problems and name problems too. During one of the lessons instead of saying the characters name it just said {0]. Sometimes the wording isn’t spaced and it looked like this, “exampleofissue”. Sometimes when two characters are on screen the character sprites load in one side of the screen, for example, to the right. When one character is talking both characters mouths move. Of course these are just minor issues and the game is actually pretty great. I wasn’t expecting much but I’m glad to have been proven wrong. I hope this game continues to flourish and many other people get to see it. I’m just pointing out some minor issues of the game but everything else runs smoothly. The art is great and the story hooks me in.
