Joke

Took a picture of my peonies to see if PlantIdentifierPlantCare was accurate, says it was an elderberry tree! Then took a picture of my petunias. Says it was a hibiscus.

This cannot identify trees

I tried 6 different tress in a park, none of them had above a 17% certainty…. Multiple pictures or close ups of the leaves gave me completely different tree guesses…

Useless and full of ads

Asked it to id a plant in the Daegu Arboretum. Completely off. Also suddenly besieged by ads.

Useless

Gave a 6% probability of being correct. Not much better than guessing.

Doesn’t work at all

I tried several common plants. It was able to identify English Ivy and Dahlia, but didn’t even come close on Petunia, Raspberry, Peony, African Violet, Calathea, Lemon Lime Maranta, Peace Lily, Spider Plant… the list goes on!

Had two different results & both were wrong

I tried PlantIdentifierPlantCare to see how well it worked and received two different results from the plant that I needed to identify. Both results were incorrect. Originally, I thought the picture that I snapped the first time was not close enough to identify so I tried it again and I still didn’t get the correct result. Glad it was free because I would have been disappointed if I paid for this.

App does not seem to work

Every time I’ve tried to use it to identify a plant I get an ad for “Picture This” /another app. Why is that?

Does not work

I took three pictures of the cilantro to verify it works, but it told me three different name each time and never cilantro.

DUMB!

PlantIdentifierPlantCare tried to tell me my coleus desert rose plant was a pacific poison oak, and then some kind of prostrate, zinnia flower? I don’t know where PlantIdentifierPlantCare gets its information from but after the eighth attempt, I gave up and decided to write a review. Hope to at least help someone steer clear of PlantIdentifierPlantCare or at least helps the developers figure out what’s wrong with it.

Did not work

I tried identifying a few plants in my house. It kept taking pictures but did not identify any of the planets which are very common and simple. Have to find a better app.

This is terrible

It is just deleted forever

Full of ads. Could not even identify basil or orchid

Makes you watch video ads then pop ups then wrong plant identification after suggesting other plant apps that are monthly paid subscriptions. Deleted.

Did not work for me.

I tried it on 2 simple plants in the yard. Both came up with the wrong ID. The percentages were correct. 12% and 13%
I had better luck just typing a description into Google.

There was a catch…

If it were just a matter of taking a picture and having PlantIdentifierPlantCare identify the plan. It would be wonderful. Unfortunately my experience was that it created a scan that I had to have yet another app to scan and then after a three day free trial they want to charge me $9.99 a week. I don't think so!

Wrong!

I got this to identify the plants growing naturally in my yard to find out if it should stay or go. Every time I take a pic and I always end up doing 3-4 pics of 1 plant and it gives me such wrong answers Every-time! If I could give it negative stars I would.

Couldn’t identify Basil or Parsley

I submitted 5 separate photos of my Basil plant and got 5 different probabilities: 1.) Yellow Rockercress, 2.) Pokeweed, 3.) Wild Yam, 4.) Pacific Dogwood, and 5.) Lysimachia Latifolia. None of which are Basil. It also could not identify my parsley. It said there’s a 47% probability that my Parsley plant is a “Herb Robert/Geranium Robertianum”. Cannot recommend PlantIdentifierPlantCare. Very disappointed.

Getting rid of this app

I wasn’t sure if I could trust PlantIdentifierPlantCare so I scanned three plants that I’m familiar with: one pink geranium, one red geranium, one orange kalanchoe.
According to PlantIdentifierPlantCare , the pink geranium is an annual honesty, the red one is a poinsettia, and my kalanchoe is a ground ivy.
I could probably go with the kalanchoe being also known as ground ivy, but my pics were very clear and even the least green of thumbs couldn’t mistake a geranium for a poinsettia.

Not very accurate

I always test these apps on plants in my garden to see how accurate they are. It said my cucumbers were grapes and my watermelons were fig. All the other apps I’ve tried have had no problem identifying these plants

Couldn’t I’d plants I knew

Once I downloaded, I wanted to see how accurate it was by identifying plants I actually already have and know what they are.
It could not identify chamomile, peppers or tomatillos. The only plant it did identify correctly was a tomato plant. I’m extremely skeptical about being able to identify unknown plants. The kind I do not know what they are, (the whole reason for PlantIdentifierPlantCare). I don’t mind the ads because it’s free. Just wish that it was accurate.

Gets it wrong

Pros:
Easy to use. Take the picture, upload, wait for commercial to end, and await results.

Cons:
PlantIdentifierPlantCare almost always yields a false result. From Irsis, sunflowers, raspberries, dandelions, trumpet vines, rhubarb… PlantIdentifierPlantCare gets it wrong every time, while correctly identifying tulips.

I’ll continue my search for a better option.

Accuracy

PlantIdentifierPlantCare is right about 25% of the time

So sad

Don’t mind the adds. But PlantIdentifierPlantCare is wrong more times then not. I scanned 10 plants and 8 where wrong.
