I DO love InsectIdentification. But I have a huge problem. And it’s not that I have to take a picture on my actual phone camera and then upload it to InsectIdentification because the camera in app is useless. It’s because even after paying $5 to download InsectIdentification (most expensive app I’VE ever downloaded) and having it be fee free for however many months, now they want to charge me $40 per year!! I can’t use it anymore unless I subscribe to a free 3 day trial? Which I don’t need. And then pay $40 for a year 😒 screw that honestly. I used InsectIdentification frequently to teach my daycare kiddos about the different bugs we’d find around the playground. I used it to determine if a bug in my space would live or die and trust me it saved a ton of bugs. I’m so disappointed and I will never pay 40 more dollars for this. I can’t even afford that. I’m a teacher! Guess I’ll have to find a different way.

I own a pest control company and was really excited about InsectIdentification. However InsectIdentification does not work well. Most all bugs that you know what they are InsectIdentification is wrong in identify correctly. I have taken pictures up close and tried many different ways but mostly miss identify the insect or bug.
It will be correct on house fly and some common bugs but mostly is incorrect. I was very disappointed in InsectIdentification . Took picture of gnat and it I.D. As butterfly.
If InsectIdentification would I.D correctly it would be great app to have. I have add for 3 months and I was hoping there would be update to correct. I will keep app for another month or two but will cancel InsectIdentification if company does not correct. Would not recommend to buy at this time. I would rate InsectIdentification **.

App was great. I bought it full price and used for a couple months. Now, I have to subscribe and pay more money?? I wrote your company twice for a refund and got no reply. How can you charge me to purchase InsectIdentification then disregard my purchase and force me to pay a yearly subscription?? Not cool at all. And, not even reply to my emails. Keep my money. I will never even look at an app that you design again. If I pulled this sort of stunt at my business I own, I would lose customers.

I love it. Seems to have gotten everything correct so far. Gives you photos to compare and see for yourself if the match was good. Also suggests a percentage confidence and offers wiki info on the insect that you can view in web browser. Been very good for me.
Some of the wiki info pages are not very informative but you can search the name if you want more info.

Spent an entire day trying to identify a bug from my backyard. Downloaded InsectIdentification and it identified in the first try. 2 seconds and I had an answer. I don’t think InsectIdentification should cost money though and if you had to charge it should be much cheaper. Probably won’t keep it because I’m not paying $40 to identify bugs.

Tho’ this is my first insect id app, I am very happy with it. My only problem is having a steady enough hand at taking the pictures.
Over time, as I read up on the bugs around me, I’ve become less squeamish about them. A few times I’ve needed to take a second picture to make sure it analyzes accurately.
I’m not a scientist or professional so I’m not looking for perfection but as I’ve cross checked with google about the bugs I believe InsectIdentification is pretty spot-on.
I’ve had more fun with looking at the bugs around me that I’ve gotten some of my friends into it too.
I highly recommend InsectIdentification for kids and adults to get to know the world of bugs all around us. 5 stars hands-down!

InsectIdentification should be owned by everyone in my opinion. It is so easy to use and fun. InsectIdentification has an extremely accurate system of identifying insects and spiders every one of the images I took was correctly identified. I have learned so much about the insects in my backyard and I wish I had InsectIdentification sooner. To me InsectIdentification turned into a game where any bug I’d see I would take a picture and identify it. Seriously InsectIdentification is one of the best I have ever used considering I don’t take pictures which is required in InsectIdentification and never write reviews I felt that InsectIdentification deserved the time for me to take to write this seriously great work to everyone that created and work on InsectIdentification!

I am an amateur naturalist with a strong interest in entomology. I understand the impossibility that a new app like this could identify insect specimens in every photo down to the species. I was pleasantly surprised that it was correct in over half of the twenty or so that I tested it on. It is a good tool, but users need to recognize it is only one tool. I hope everyone (including the creators) will be patient and I am looking forward to further developments in "Insect Identification". I see great potential and I think others will too. Keep up the good work!

I love InsectIdentification, worth my five dollars. Before InsectIdentification I already spent most of my time outside looking for neat bugs but now I can actually see what they are!!! Sometimes I get a wrong ID but that’s to be expected, a lot of times the photo isn’t clear enough. Bugs are tiny, either way I’m super pleased. Found a neat spikey caterpillar, and I actually know what kind of butterfly it will be because of InsectIdentification! Already recommended it to my friends.
Can’t wait to use this with my nieces and nephews!!

So I have to be honest, I just got InsectIdentification and so I’ve only tried it once, but I love it so far. I looked up the beetle based on description and it took a bit to find but I identified it. I then got a couple identification apps and this was was the easiest to use, the best layout, and it worked wonderfully. It got the correct bug based on my research and quickly. It then allowed me to keep it in a lil library of bugs I have found which is just so cute! Seriously, props to the creator(s).

As a pest control employee I find it important to be able to identify insects, that being said I also don’t have the ability memorize the countless species of them. I downloaded InsectIdentification not knowing if I should trust it so I scanned multiple insects with it that I knew to make sure it got the same results and it did! I am very impressed and would recommend this this to anyone whether you need it for work or if you just love insects and learning!

I'd love if they could somehow add an option to put in your general area so they can possibly better identify local bugs! (As someone in Utah, I doubt I'm seeing a European earwig) another cool feature would be to show the world map and have it highlight/circle the areas the bugs are from. Beyond those small requests, I love InsectIdentification !

When I got InsectIdentification I didn’t really expect much but it has been right pretty much 100% of the time every time I take a proper picture of the insect even bugs that I thought it would have a hard time identifying it seem to identify easily. Every app has its bugs even a bug app. I am extraordinarily pleased

Handy app for those like me who wonder exactly what kind of insect they’re looking at. I’ve spent a lot of time in the woods and am still experiencing things I’ve never seen before, so InsectIdentification is helpful. Would be a great app for kids to get them out of the house & experience the outdoors

I am impressed with InsectIdentification. I have taken many pictures of insects and it knows what exactly what the insect is. Sometimes, the picture does not have to be perfectly clear, and it will identify it. I am very impressed, and InsectIdentification is well worth the 5 dollars.
