That’s why we created Stir, a dating app with a focus on single parents.

It’s where solo parents can meet, chat, and rediscover the fun in dating.

As we learn what you like and don’t like, our algorithm will present new matches we think you’ll love.

You’ll get to know potential matches through our questions on personality and values.

Here you can find your "every other weekend" partner or the person with whom you want to blend families.

It’s where you don’t have to apologize for having a crazy schedule.

Bad experience. Bad, bad experience.

This is my first time using a dating app. And being a single dad I thought this would be perfect. I was wrong. First of all I had the choice of paying $60 for 3 months or $60 for 6 months. Ok? Not much of a choice there. Went for the 6 months. Then there are add ons. Pay another $60 to message women with free accounts. Pay 10-50 dollars for super likes. Pay extra to be placed as the “top pick”. At the risk of sounding shallow, the ratio of attractive women to non is staggeringly low. Met three attractive women who were in rehab. Went out on a date with a “top pick” who was definitely not. Went out on another date, after two weeks of talking, only to find out she likes dating multiple men. This was definitely a bad first experience for me and has only shown me that this new digital age of dating is not for me. After a little over a month of using this I hid my a profile and will be deleting Stir.

Truly horrible app

Stir is really bad. There are standard questions that they ask you at the beginning but don’t give you a “back” option while setting up to quickly modify. They then pipe these into everyone’s profiles and they’re the least revealing/interesting questions I’ve ever seen. They tell me nothing about a person. But then they show up across all profiles and often that’s the only info people have up. There is no prompt to complete your open-ended profile piece.
Further the people in the apps are barely even located in my area and I live in Brooklyn! Someone from Pennsylvania showed up in my swiping. They also all seem lowkey republican - one of the only dudes who was remotely handsome had an anti mask statement in his profile lol pass. They need to do some mega promotion of Stir to expand the pool in nyc or it’ll never take off.

Too expensive for a single parent.

I thought would be an okay app because at least everybody would have the same issues when it came to dating. The idea was spot on but the cost to get a membership is just to much. If this is a premium dating app why not just charge $40 to download. The thought of a single parent paying this much for a dating is crazy, we are SINGLE PARENTS!!! Which means some of us are raising kids on our own and to waste money on a “premium dating app” as it mentions in most of the reviews that mostly say the same thing about being to expensive and not being able to delete their profile completely, you would think changes would be made by now. To the developers, hire some single parents and then maybe you can get some real changes that can help make you app better. Good luck.

NO free services and even paid is a waste

Stir is a total waste of Time. I only wish I read the reviews FIRST. It asks you to pay $40 for 1 month and only then after 1 FREE chat you must pay to do all the same things other sites allow for free with better results. Single guys with NO kids are using this site for Parents ieA- People with kids ! This is the basic rennet of this site. The preferences are useless and poorly calibrated. Distance preference- for example is useless.

I’m asking fir my ONE month back after 24 hours of use. Stay away from this.

Business Model is stupid. Trap people for a month to get at least that upfront while delivering trash ticks people off and the cost- benefit analysis will not work in your favor because bad press will do Stir in.

Flawed premise

What type of idiot is designing these apps for Match group? The premise is that single parents want to meet other single parents. Why anybody would want to limit themselves only to this category of people is ridiculous…you’re ruling out at least 50 percent of the population. I’m a single parent and I’ve never dated another single parent. (Singles who don’t have kids are more than happy to date singles with kids.) I wish they didn’t wreck OkCupid because that was the only decent site/app left that had any substance to it. The only app that has decent guys on it now is Bumble. Stir is going to fail because nobody wants to pay for such a limited population of people. And I don’t need an app to help me schedule dates. If two people can’t find a time where they can both meet, the mutual interest isn’t there. Useless app.

Horrible App and Customer Service

Very little functionality unless you pay an extremely high premium subscription fee. I paid $40 for 1 month just so that I could read messages that I received. I still couldn’t read the messages. In fact, not a single new feature was added to my account. I reached out to customer service via email (the only way to contact this app), which takes 24+ hours to respond. The response didn’t even address my question or issue. It’s as if a robot responded with some standard response. I replied to the email clarifying my question, and will now have to wait 24+ hours for a response. Additionally, I have since realized that the profiles are awful, very low quality.

Not impressed at all.

Several complaints:
1. I set my location preferences very specifically to be matched with people within what I consider a reasonable distance from me. The majority of the matches I’m getting are more than 5x that distance away. Some are not even in the same state! Useless “preference” if I have to sort through listed locations on each profile before I even consider chatting with someone.

2. There are A LOT of people with “no kids” and “do not want kids”, some even have both options shown on their profile. Major red flag, in my opinion, for something designed for single parents. Why would I ever want to consider talking to someone who “doesn’t want kids”? I can find those people on all the other apps.

3. I do not want to receive an email every time someone messages me. I’ve turned off every notification option I can find, and I’m still getting emails from Stir all day long. It’s a nuisance and it’s totally unnecessary.

4. The profile prompts are awful, with only canned answers you can pick from.

5. $$$

Absolutely disappointing!!!!!!

Seems like a great idea! A platform for people to meet that have similar situations, with minimal judgement and reservations. Problem is, if I’m laying $20/mo, I should be able to search at as many profiles I would like for as long as I long, not what some computer program deems is allowable. I also should be able to start a message, go back to review the profile and continue my message without losing the profile altogether. I feel like I’m being ripped off by not being able to review my likes, being able to continue looking through profiles, or review profiles while working on quality messages before sending them.

Great app , definitely not a scammer people. Real woman’s. I definitely meet good one woman/ . My point of view as man. For you guys be honest, sincere because here it’s real. Amazing beautiful woman’s so don’t be a joke. Be a man and treat all the girls nice and honest like I do. I’m old school go out for a dinner, a couple drinks and see what happens. For the all girls out there if you like my profile and really want to talk with me and see if we click just send a message. But Don’t be late…. Jojo your real hot chocolate

Useless and expensive

I bought a month membership after I signed up because I was unable to see the members who liked me.. but I wasn’t able to still see them or read the messages so I decided to buy 3 months membership for $ 90 dollars after getting about 30 likes and 5 messages. As I scrolled and deleted the people I didn’t like and read the 5 messages.. the likes and messages stopped, I was getting liked notifications daily and something in the middle of the night and as soon as I payed no more notifications or messages.
Stir is expensive and I expect more from it.. I truly regret all the money I payed for.

Worst Dating App

This is one of the worst dating apps created! The free version simply allows you to view profiles! The profiles it will show you are repetitive! Including the ones you didn’t like! There is not much filtering and you will not get a refund if you are unsatisfied! You can not delete your profile simply cancel your subscription! They are part of Match so there is a possibility you will match with someone who doesn’t have kids!
Improvements that need to be made are too many to list! I used multiple and this is by far the worst the worst! Please don’t spend your money on this one, it is not worth it!

Don’t do it!

I NEVER write reviews, so this should tell you just how unhappy I am with Stir.

Why is there no option for me to delete my profile complete? Why is there no way to connect with people for free? You lure single parents and then make them pay for anything that would be basic on any other site? You should be ashamed. What is this? Again, why can’t I delete my account? I should be able to remove my information without having to contact someone and wait. There is no way of knowing before signing up that you cannot delete and remove yourself from Stir. Very unhappy. Just don’t bother.

Disappointing-Especially for the Expensive Cost

Great idea, but…
Too expensive for what you get. Offers less options then less expensive apps like Bumble, Hinge, FB Dating etc.
Very little search/match filtering. Distance, drinking preferences, full or part parenting time with children etc. are important filters to me when searching.
Also to be blunt, the ratio of cute/pretty women compared to other popular dating apps is just awful.
Better to stick with the other apps that let you filter to find single parents vs. Stir.

Facepalm

Stir may have had good intention but it’s a just another trap. Sure it’s targeting single parents which may have been a solid market. Unfortunately the month to month membership fee is $40 or 50% for 6 months at $120. A few options in between but wow. Not only is this a rip off and a clunky knock off tinder but it’s target audience is single parents, the most understandably broke audience you could think of. And let me inform you, there is not success here without a membership. You need it to even see your matches list let alone talk to them. Don’t waste your time, the cost is wack and the “sea of fish” is relatively small.

By

Take the reviews seriously

If more than a couple of reviews are saying the same thing, they’re not lying. You can’t even see the people you did match with. Which is really weird. Might as well not have a “free” version of Stir. I can’t even find a place to deactivate my account. I feel like they trapped me. It’s really a scam. Because who’s paying $40 a month to meet people online? There’s literally a whole market of free apps that lets you do that. I get the idea, but this did not hit. I’d maybe subscribe if it were reasonable. Like $10 a month. But I’m never paying any more than that. I’m literally a SINGLE mom. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Tinder is way better at least you can see your matches and people are quicker to respond. I mean even POF shows who viewed and liked you. Not sure if everyone on this app is liking pics just to like them, I could just remain on Instagram if that’s the case, but it’s seriously a ghost town because even when you match no one writes back🤣😂 If I had to rate this experience I’d give Stir a full star and the people half a star. ✌🏾I just read in a previous review that they allow you to see you matches it’s a lie, I didn’t see one, Stir is okay but it’s not the best. Tinder and POF is where it’s at

By

Too expensive and not much selection

Well… I was really hoping this would be a good app but that definitely wasn’t the case. Only found a few people that I would actually want to match with, and then once I did finally get a match I found out you can’t even send them a message unless your a “premium member”. That seems very strange to me, like what’s the point of Stir ?? And the membership is $40 per month! No thanks!! I’ll just go back to tinder and edit my preferences to show only people who also have children. At least there I can actually communicate with my matches!

Save yourself the grief

I read about the cost but when I saw it for myself I was appalled. $119 every 3 or 6 months???? Are you kidding me???!!!! Also the fact that deleting your profile is such a huge fiasco is a big put off. I had to email their customer service to see how to delete my profile and it’s a Saturday so I have to wait to get a message, if I get one back at all. It’s a nice concept but holy crap, just add a delete account option for people. That’s $40 I’m not getting back. That’s my fault. I should have read more reviews. You’re better off with other dating apps, skip this one.

By

I should’ve listened the on the reviews

I gave it a try because it was on sale. I thought only serious people would pay right? Nope. The pool is…not what I expected. It might be in its early stage so I’ll give that the benefit of the doubt. There’s no trial so you have to pay to see anyone you matched with. I gave it a try since it was ~$8 a month. The only actual problem that I had with Stir that gave me the creeps was that there are many men on here who do not have kids. I feel like that’s the main requirement for Stir and not having that is a red flag.

By

Trash

You get one free message to a random person here and there in the chance they even like you back. But if you match with someone you have to pay for premium to see who you matched with. Which is 100 dollars for the basic package waste of time and money. Not even a lot of people in my area signed up I’ll stick with Facebook dating it’s free unlimited swipes and if someone likes you then you get to see it and message them for free 100% free do not waste money on dating apps when the number one social media platform in Facebook is giving you that for free!!

Finally an app for single parents!

Love that I can see and (hopefully) meet other single parents! This is what I’ve been waiting for after trying so many dating apps

By

Not what I hoped it would be

As a single mom it’s hard to find a good place to meet other single parents- you get one free message and have to pay- which I did to try it out- there’s barely anyone in Stir and basically I paid for nothing at all…I’ve had Stir a few days and I asked for a refund but they refused

By

Automatic sign up is what this app wants

I signed up last night for the first time and realized Stir is unlike the others. You can message one person and deny another in the same day and won’t be able to see who else has liked you without having to pay a membership fee.

By

Finally

Great app so far. The people on here seem to be much more active and willing to have a conversation Like what I see so far.

By

Simple and perfect for me!

Love that this is tailored specifically for single parents! So much less pressure compared to other dating sites.

By

Seriously???

If you and another person like each other on Stir you can’t message each other unless you pay for the premium membership which is ridiculous.

By

App keeps crashing

I downloaded Stir because using the website on mobile is t great. Unfortunately, when I try to log in, Stir just closes. I deleted it and reinstalled and it still won’t log in.

This dating site/app I thought was for single parents wanting to meet single parents.... I have had many new like me who do not have kids, so it's just another dating site, I had my hopes up of hopefully narrowing the search, bit you let anyone on just Like all the others....if it's only supposed to be parents maybe you should enable the question of how many kids...and if they have none don't let them sign up ..annoying...waste of money!!
