The app "Grüner Pass" is based on the open source app "COVID Certificate" developed by the Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication (FOITT) on behalf of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) in Switzerland and was further developed by the Federal Computing Center for use in Austria.
The Austrian Grüner Pass app enables the secure storage of EU-compliant SARS-CoV-2 certificates from Austria on your mobile phone and facilitates their presentation during a check of 3-G proof and in international travel.
The Austrian Federal Computing Center (BRZ from German Bundesrechenzentrum) operates the app on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK from German Bundesministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit, Pflege und Konsumentenschutz).

- To verify the certificate, a photo ID is required in addition to the QR code.
The use of the "Grüner Pass" app is voluntary and free of charge.
- Use the app to show the certificate (QR code) during an inspection.
- Your certificates are only stored locally on your smartphone.
- All data remains in the app and is not uploaded to third-party servers at any time.
