Use AnkiMobile, Not This Rip-Off
2022-07-29
by TyFighter100
I get that it is very tempting to use the Anki name as it has very good brand recognization. I don’t like other apps using the name but it makes sense and I accept that it‘s going to happen. However, AnkiPro uses many of the same images(like the elephant on the ball) from the official app in order to try to increase legitimacy. It also says it works on desktop, which is very misleading as it does not work with the official anki client. I get that at the bottom of the description it says that it is not related, but come on, no one reads the entire description.
It doesn’t help that the “official” website for AnkiPro currently gives a 404 page not found error. Clearly not related to the real ankiweb.
Stop plagiarizing other people’s work and using misleading claims to further your business. If your going to charge a subscription model, make sure it’s better then the official Anki, which this isn’t.
Blatant Anki Knockoff- Do Not Install
2024-06-27
by ChromiumUpToBad
Oh boy, another ripoff app. Excellent.
Many complaints about AnkiPro, but first, let’s address the elephant in the room: AnkiPro is a blatant ripoff of Anki, the SRS for Flashcards. I’m quite big on linguistics, and Anki’s system is set up in an excellent, much superior way compared to “Anki Pro”’s mediocre one. Also, in all of the reviews I’ve read, the developer’s replies always seem to ignore how it’s obviously misleading to make people believe that AnkiPro was titled after Anki to create confusion. I hope he’s sued, honestly, and I’ll report this to the creators of the original Anki myself if I have to. The repetition system for “Anki Pro” is worse than Anki’s and it also costs money in a subscription-based manner. How completely ridiculous! All-in-all, AnkiPro is just blatant fraud, and the developer may continue replying with non-sequitur responses that don’t address any issues at hand, but take my word for it: AnkiPro IS NOT WORTH INSTALLING AT ALL!
Very disappointed, doesn’t work, bad UI, rip off of the free open source version.
2024-06-26
by Iggy Alfasi
They are ripping off the open source version that is free. Scummy move. Besides that I’m AnkiPro doesn’t work properly and packs of cards don’t work or load. I couldn’t get two card packs to work at all. I loaded them and nothing. The hiragana pack was super annoying. The letters are tiny, you could zoom in slightly but they were still much too small and who wants to zoom in on each letter anyway? The letters should be taking up the whole screen or I should be able to set a zoom level that applies to all letters so I can turn my screen into a full flash card. Terrible, buggy design. Unfortunate. Get the open source and support the real Anki not these douches.
App not useful

by Mist_101
I love the original anki, but not only does my computer anki not connect to this one as they are separate apps with different developers despite the name, but I also cannot upload .apkg files to this. I have tried over and over again with various file sizes. Since it was working well if I was actively making cards on AnkiPro without the import feature, I was stupid and paid for the year. When I finally got my laptop back, I found everything is basically incompatible and difficult to navigate with all of the study material I had made on desktop. Would not recommend unless you do not plan to import decks.
I wrote a reveiw explaining that I bought this product thinking that Anki Pro was the Pro version of Anki. It is NOT. It is not associated with Anki and I can NOT use the thousands of cards I have created over the years that is synced on my devices with Anki. I received a cut and paste answer: "Hi there! It's important to note that while there are many different Anki apps available, this app isn't affiliated with any of them, and you can't sync your progress between different apps. I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Maybe you could tell prospective buyers this "important note" BEFORE they click to buy?? Well, it IS AN INCONVENIENCE to think that a product with this name does not work for me. Two choices given to me were to write another review, or "contact the developer" with a link that does not provide an email or phone number which which to do so. I just want to cancel this subscription and move on. Can you PLEASE just refund my money and cancel my subscription? After trying to cancel, my phone still says it is "expiring on Feb 14, 2025." I have not used it, and will not use it.
Not Worth Paying For
2024-05-27
by Idkwjst
I loved tiny cards from Duolingo but articles online recommend this as its replacement and it is absolutely far from that. The decks in this are all user generated. It’s more worth it to use quizlet. If the decks are user generated why is it $$ ? I would pay 99¢ for this. I’ve seen so many decks with spelling errors and wrong translations. The images are weird and outdated looking. There’s way better flash card apps with much more features and for free or cost less compared to this. Ripped off for sure. There is nothing monitoring if this information on here is correct so just take whoever made the decks word for it. I won’t be.
Poor imitation of AnkiMobile Flashcards
2024-06-27
by Eric Staples
AnkiPro misleadingly positions itself as a counterpart to AnkiMobile Flashcards, but falls short in several critical aspects. Despite claims of superior customization options and features, it delivers a simplified experience with fewer capabilities and a less effective spaced repetition algorithm compared to the comprehensive offerings of AnkiMobile Flashcards. The authentic Anki app, identifiable as AnkiMobile Flashcards in AnkiPro Store, is the go-to choice for users seeking depth, flexibility, and efficiency in their learning tools.
Furthermore, the touted advantages such as design, collaboration, and a large deck library do not stand up to scrutiny when compared to AnkiMobile's established ecosystem, which is enriched by years of contributions from a diverse global community. The real value in a flashcard app lies in its ability to support varied learning styles through extensive customization, reliable updates, and a proven spaced repetition algorithm. In this regard, AnkiMobile Flashcards surpasses its imitator, making it the preferable option for serious learners.
Ripoff of the real Anki program
2024-06-27
by Jim654356
I cannot think of anything more sleazy than to take the real, free (other than iPhone), open source Anki program used by thousands of medical students and create a payware version of the same, but with better marketing graphics to trick students into downloading the wrong one and profiting from it. Developers: you are obviously bright people with great graphic design skills. Do the right thing by donating some of your skills to improve the real, open source Anki or else develop something different that doesn’t seek to capitalize on the name of open source software with a deceptively similar name.
For those of you reading this who don’t know, Anki is an open source program available for free on PC and Androids. It is the standard used by medical students. The Apple version, which is not this app, costs $20 to cover the costs of the Apple developer license and the forever-changing iOS platform. this app is not the droid you are looking for.
Waste of money

by TriniJenni07
I never leave app reviews, but this one really frustrates me. I bought the premium subscription thinking that the limitations would get removed after doing so. AnkiPro will prevent you from studying cards for 12 or more hours. When you are trying to cram before an exam or just refresh before a test, this feature is absolutely horrible. I should be able to review my cards as many times as I want, period. It literally prevents you from being able to continue studying, if you want to keep going.
Developers, please remove that or make it so we can choose the time frame. It is giving me 4 choices: 12 hours, 18 hours, 24 hours, or 4 days from now. 😑 my exam is in 2 hours therefore I can’t even utilize AnkiPro for the purpose I paid for. Even when I change the “spaced recognition” I still get the same options. We should be able to customize that. Please fix that as soon as possible.
I created almost 20 decks to study for test with pictures. Your server stopped working and did not show any of my pictures that took me hours to take an edit for a test. I am super disappointed I trusted your program and engineering. I needed these flash cards and spent hours making them instead of using a good pencil and paper with 3x5 cards. I am so frustrated because my test is in a week and half and I have been creating these cards for weeks. Your program is garbage. I was on my last few decks in my creation process and then your server died or stopped working. This program should be able to be kept locally on my device and not depend on a server. Not happy. There is no support for your product. Pay a monthly fee and get nothing for it. I would have downloaded another app had I known this.
Not Authentic Anki and Far Worse
2024-09-22
by Friedmann-Walker
This is my first and perhaps only one-star review of all apps I’ve used. I wish I could give zero.
This is not the authentic Anki (which is the AnkiMobile app), and tricks you into expensive annual subscription fees that are much more than the real Anki’s one-time purchase (let alone if you only use the authentic Anki on Mac it’s completely free). The interface is not as clean and the spaced repetition is not developed, while it charges you more. The developer can say whatever they like as to never claiming themselves to be the real Anki, but AnkiPro name is there written. I’ve been fooled once and just hope other newcomers can be warned.
To all those learning science and engineering and trying to use Anki to advance their studies, please head over to the real one. It is better for your own sake.
Absolute scam
2023-07-10
by @MonsieurMack
AnkiPro and it’s developers are absolute fraudsters trying to scam people by making them think they’re affiliated with anki.
I can’t access any premise decks, so I deleted AnkiPro and redownloaded it only for it to no long register that I was a pro user and tried to charge me again. I’ll be asking for a refund and reporting AnkiPro to AnkiPro Store.
Fake version, can’t access deck offline
2023-08-10
by Tsii2
This is NOT the real app, the real app has a star symbol and is called AnkiMobile and costs $25. This is a knock off. Beware. A lot of the 5 star reviews are probably fake too!
I used AnkiPro then tried to study in a place without internet and lost access to all my decks…. Don’t download or use this cheap knock off!
Just a pathetic copycat
2023-09-11
by NickDavid8
This is really sad, especially after reading AnkiPro author actually talked with the creator of the REAL Anki app and then went ahead and stole everything. AnkiPro literally took the exact appearances and functions. It’s nowhere near as good and it’s basically just a poor superficial copy moneygrab.
To the author, I’m sad to see you resort to stealing others work for your own gain. If you wanna make your own app, make it different (and better) and name it your own thing.
Not only is AnkiPro very limited in what it does once you subscribe, but it will bug and immediately charge you $30 for a year subscription if you try to cancel your monthly subscription. I can’t restudy cards that I’ve already studied for the day, AnkiPro crashes across all devices, and again, they charged me $30 when I tried to cancel my MONTHLY subscription. Don’t waste your time or money, use quizlet instead.
“Made by real Anki”

by Cooljeremy777
Usually, before i check things and if this is real, i check the dev tab. Im right now saving up for im pretty sure Anki Advanced, and clicked on this searching for flashcard apps. Wow, what did i know, only 1 app, and its a copy! I tried it anyways, and its still pretty bad. I should’ve known from all of the other reviews this is just a fake Anki app. A lot of reviews said that it was a fake, and, i already knew it. Just don't copy from an actually good brand please, it frustrates me at times.
Rip off
2023-12-15
by CjvsCalvin
A rip off to the ACTUAL Anki app. DO NOT use AnkiPro, they’ll try to make you pay a subscription fee. Stick to using the original Anki app. That app has a price on it, but you can always use Anki web for free if you want. But if you’re like me and on the go, AnkiPro on ios is truly useful.
Button functionality is funky and weird card randomization
2024-06-17
by Cinimily
I like AnkiPro okay, considering I can access the anki database and it’s free. The issues I have: -Button functionality is hit or miss. I have to press the “again,” “good,” and “easy” buttons multiple times to get AnkiPro to register my touch. -I’m using anki to learn languages, and it’s somewhat important that the order of my cards is followed when introducing new vocabulary since cards are sorted to scaffold off of previous information. You can’t lay the foundation in this way if the card order is randomized. I’d like to see an option where you can keep cards ordered the initial way for study.
Great app bug HUGE problem
2025-05-16
by Unicorn Diarea Poop
I think this is a good flash card app, a great one even. I haven’t even done anything yet and I have a good feeling, so I have all my cards and these amazing drawings that took me a long time to make and then I realize that I accidentally made them in the wrong side, no big deal I’ll just copy paste everything into the right spots, right? NO. Once you click out of a drawing YOU ARE DONE, you can’t edit it, you can’t even look at it. So now I have to redo EVERYTHING just because you can’t let me copy paste a picture…
Thankfully,I feel that providing all of things that we need to improve are so difficult but in two months later I had two massive problems which I wanna you tackle them as soon as possible such as; Firstly, you don’t have rtl (right to left text) and all of text with other languages especially Arabic has been ruined and I am not able to read them properly. Then followed by, I can’t select group of cards ,which I make them, in my deck. you suppose that for moving 100 favorite cards into other decks I should enter one-by-one card and send them with extremely boring. I can’t filter and choose all of my cards Finally, when you listen tts, you may upset because It’s not natural speaking especially British and American and this feature makes not me more enthralling and more exciting Thanksgivings
Not the real Anki, but not awful
2024-08-06
by Tan2k
Like a lot of others, I had downloaded AnkiPro thinking it was the original Anki app - it is not.
It allows you to use all of the same decks, but does not come close to the original Anki in terms of learning algorithms and does not allow you to sync with your progress on Anki. Additionally, it has an annual subscription that is more expensive than the original AnkiMobile app (which is a one time purchase).
While I think its clear this was made in an attempt of deception, AnkiPro isn't horrible. It does what it needs to do and actually provides some decent spaced repetition for. I’ll even give it a bonus for having a significantly better UI than the real Anki app.
Needs improvement to be superb.

I like AnkiPro and the ability to duplicate other decks, but AnkiPro keeps freezing whenever I go to add new decks. I am switching over from another flash card app, so I have a lot of new decks to add. Every time I add a new deck, I need to close AnkiPro and reopen because it freezes and will not let me do anything. Additionally, there needs to be an option to bulk move decks. I do language learning and create decks based on topics so having to individually move 15+ decks to become sub decks is annoying and cuts into learning time. Please update to improve these issues.

Great- better than most competitors with a few drawbacks
2025-10-12
by Tawfiqlaw
AnkiPro is great for studying and the resources it connects to are superfluous! I’m using it for the MCAT. The biggest drawback between this and Anki is the inability to use a keyboard or external controller. Was very disappointed that while it excels in other features beyond its competitors, it lacks this one basic feature all the others have. Hope to see an update soon- will definitely change to 5 stars if it comes.
I was enjoying this as the functionality and interference felt pretty good, and the fact that the major premade decks that I was looking for were already there was really helpful. Then I tried deleting one deck, and got stuck on a spinning loading screen and server error message on the decks page. When I tried adding a new deck from the library, all my other decks were missing, along with presumably all my progress. This repeated any time I tried deleting a deck.
Bad!
Offline mode needed badly!!!
2025-12-23
by Blindtoy99
I love AnkiPro but I want to be able to use this on a plane or when riding the subway as it’s down time. This is such a miss to not have offline mode. Please add this sooner or later and I’ll gladly revise to 5 star!
Last note is wish you had a way to organize better. Like create a folder for a topic and place multiple decks in that folder. The amount of decks are getting out of control that I have to scan through now.
Ankipro is not Anki
2024-01-07
by Usbnoun14
Although I like the design of AnkiPro , this is not the anki that people are talking about. I was searching for hours before I realized that this app is a different developer from anki or ankimobile. I really like the occlusion image feature that anki has. If this app can add that in. This will improve my study guides.
I have tried using anki and uploading it to this app but it adds unnecessary information to the flashcards. And I don’t like the fact that an imported deck cannot be added to a main deck, so it will look disorganized in the future.
Seems solid but can’t upload a new deck
2024-11-25
by G-nein
The upload begins but then stops less than halfway and doesn’t budge from there. I’ve tried resetting and still no fix. Suggestions?
Great app! Please add more features to individual cards…
2024-08-03
by Kstudy1
I use AnkiPro regularly for studying and I really enjoy it! However, it would be really great if there was a way to move individual cards around between decks, or a way to duplicate cards so you can have the same card in multiple different decks. Currently the only thing you can do with individual cards is create and delete them. AnkiPro only allows you to move entire decks, so if you want to reorganize your cards or move a single card to a different deck, you just have to remake the cards in a different deck. It’s really time consuming and frustrating to have to continually remake the same cards if you change your mind about how to organize them. It would be much easier and more convenient if you were able to move individual cards around at liberty, or able to easily duplicate a card. The way it is currently makes organization pretty inflexible. You’re unable to change the placement of cards once you make them.
Please consider adding these features! It would definitely help make using AnkiPro easier, more flexible, and more enjoyable.
Wish it was free to students & unfortunately can’t afford to subscribe
2024-08-09
by Lexi LeBlanc
I would give this five stars if it was free if there was a free subscription option that requires proof that I am an active full-time college student. I’d even conquer up new decks if I also was then required to contribute 5 or more decks to gain a few months of a free subscription in return. If that was the case, I would be 100% grateful for helping students, like myself, who are struggling to make ends meet & drowning in student debt. After all, New ideas & decks are the key for AnkiPro in order to see long term success &, thus then potentially be recognized as a top referred app on AnkiPro Store & on other websites as well. Please consider modifying the subscription!
Best Flashcard App, still room to improve
2026-04-07
by Naaahaaal
This is hands down the best app for flashcard in the market. But it still has room for improvement. I don’t like it when you add pictures/ screenshots in your card, and you are only able to view them if you click on study cards. Whereas if you search for card in the search bar, you won’t be able to study those pictures with the card. Other than that, everything else is just so great!!
Good one fix
2026-04-24
by 0justhatguy0
Everything is really good all works amazing flash cards are easy to make and I can make as meny decks with as meny cards as I want only problem I have is I can’t reset the cards or practice the dec as meny times as I want in certain time periods I don’t want to wait 24 hours to practice a word just because I got it quickly if I don’t need the word I’d remove it from the deck.
Great app, could use an additional feature.
2026-06-09
by Marcellofan
Great app! Super happy with AnkiPro ’s ability to type in the answer. Could use some “guess “ option for language learning. As an example, there is the term, and four definitions, and you must guess which it correlates too. It would be helpful for learning vocabulary. Also, an option to study for more time, and have the spaced repetition have a shorter time period option, like when I want to study for 30 minutes instead of 5.
Waiting for the “Move Deck” update
2026-10-07
by Serenityah
Can’t move and organize all decks. “Move Deck” option is blacked out for decks I uploaded from classmates, which is quite frustrating. I just want to move, group, & organize my decks into one class folder/class that belong together.
Update: they released an update saying that they will add “moving in bulk” soon. I’m giving them 4 stars again since they took time to see and respond to my request.
I’ve just re-discovered the power of a flash card based approach to learning, and AnkiPro is incredibly helpful. The one star off is because I wish it were possible to personalize the learning algorithm, so that I could change the frequency of flash card recurrence based on my time constraints. For example, I have an exam coming up in two days I’d like to be able to shorten the time in which I review those cards I know better.
Great App, Needs Offline Mode
2026-08-22
by Aidenlle
Title says all pretty much, spaced repetition is really useful— Quizlet is too easy and the other functions are superfluous vs. Anki which is simple but effective. It would be perfect and fully replace other study tools if only it had an offline mode like downloading your card sets! I’ve heard they’re working on it right now so hopefully they add the feature soon.
I really like it but I wish there were stats
2026-09-19
by RPerry1886
I really like AnkiPro. It’s been helpful in memorizing acronyms for my security+ certificate test. I do wish that there were some kind of stats for your learning though. Like how many words you know out of the deck and percentages of words known. I’m going from the desktop Anki app to AnkiPro, and I loved the stats on the desktop Anki app.
Good, but could be better

by Starkj80
I like AnkiPro but for $30 a year I wish there were more options such as a note section. I’m teaching myself Spanish and a note section for conjugation of verbs would be helpful. This feels more like an app that would be maybe a $15 one-time fee. Maybe it’ll improve or maybe I just need to research AnkiPro more.
Is actually pretty useful!

I’m still trying to get used to with AnkiPro, but everything else is actually pretty helpful when it come with managing the deck cards itself
It’s hard to look at the sexy and find a particular card. Other thank that it is great

Anki Pro is a phenomenal learning tool and I would be no where near fluency in my Spanish Language study. I am getting ready to use it to assist me in my French language study as well. I Can highly recommend AnkiPro to anyone serious about language study, and any other classes you may be taking in HS or University. Without a doubt, I totally love Anki Pro. It takes sometime to get your vocabulary imputed but once that is done, you have it for a lifetime.
Helps keep me on top of my studying!
2024-09-16
by Caroline929
Studying has always been very overwhelming for me, but AnkiPro makes it so easy! I don’t have to worry about making and losing hundreds of physical flash cards, and even more helpful is you can set up a specific type of spaced repetition studying depending on what type of material you are learning. Then it reminds you when to study to get them most efficient study sessions, with extra focus in the areas you struggle with. This is literally the only reason that I’m going to make it through my anatomy class lol
Great app!

by Chico_17
I really like AnkiPro it’s easy and simple! You can make your own cards or take theirs I prefer making my own but that’s just me. You rank yourself how good you did on knowing the flashcards which I really like the only thing I would add would be various time limits instead of 1min 8min 15min 3days or a week. But I live how that system works! I’m definitely learning and that’s what matters so big thumbs up to the creators(╹◡╹)♡ 👍👍👍👍👍
Great for Spanish

I have been checking out young adult novels from the library (more limited vocabulary) and then putting words I don’t know into AnkiPro and studying every night. Learning the words in context, and then studying with AnkiPro helps me to learn words very quickly. Then with the reinforcement of the learning with spaced repetition from Anki, I memorize them for good. The money for AnkiPro is well worth it! 😊
The new update made this application different and better from all other flash cards. I studied architecture in the university and I always got the best grades, but my native language isn't English and reading English was always a challenge for me and I didn't get good Score, but the new update of this app worked a miracle, after creating different flash cards, my language level went up and More importantly, I became interested in learning the language! I know my language is still not good, but this application motivates me to keep going! Now I want to get the premium service so that I can improve my speaking in English for job interviews. Thank this app team🙏🏻
This has accelerated my learning exponentially!

Hearing the lessons and being able to read at the same time has really helped me to learn Chinese way faster than I learned Spanish. In fact, I met a Chinese man this week, and he was impressed with my accent and command of tones! I don’t think I would have been able to learn any other way. I am not looking for a similar app to help my Spanish! One suggestion is to have an option to make files to group certain decks together. It would really help with organization!
Your app is awesome.

I’ve been learning Korean by myself from the very beginning and started make by my own flash cards handwritten and when I heard of AnkiPro I got it. I was like yay, my hand won’t hurt again but when I learned it gives you more than just your flash cards that made me give you this 5 star rating.😉
Convenient!

Great way to study anything you want to and not have to store paper cards anywhere. Only criticism I have so far is the search function for the decks is not so user-friendly imo… You have to have the exact deck spelled out perfectly or put one or two keywords that bring up many options to find the one you want.
Best App Support!
2024-09-22
by Derysland
I use the Anki app to help me study languages with Duolingo. I opened it one day and the card deck I had created was gone. I emailed support, not really expecting any way to get the deck back. I received a response within 24 hours. After asking me a few questions, the support team was able to find my deck, create an account for me, and send me a link to create a password. When I signed into the account, my deck was there! The support team was professional and very responsive. Great service!
AnkiPro helped me pass my college courses definitely AP bio and I’m currently taking AP bio two and I recommend making your own flashcards instead of using the ones that are already made and I definitely recommend AnkiPro and Jenna because it’s not like you have to do flashcards every day because of howwell you know the flash will come back a certain time which I think that is very helpful. So if you’re not sure or not, it is a good app.

I needed to review a large set of flashcards for a test and I was feeling like I just couldn't retain much after reading the text book. I was so pleasantly surprised by how this application repeated certain items so I could eventually get the information in my head.
Thank you.
